- Have ever found your dream car and then found out it had some very special history? Paul Fix III and Chris Saeli discuss a very rare Porsche find, 1984 Porsche 911/930 Turbo "Special Wishes" slant nose Flachbau, #804 of 804. This car was also known a the "Widowmaker", but there's more to the story. You'll want to hear this story.
If you love #VinWiki you have to hear this story. Is it worth the hype?
Porsche began their "special order program" offering a Flachbau option (Slantnose) for the 930 in very limited production. It included a more aerodynamic nose, retractable headlights, boxed rockers extended, and vents ahead of the rear wheels. All of this at a cost of nearly 2 times the standard 930S. There were very few "special wishes" cars ever built.

Very special car, wish I owned one. I agree that they really need a fifth gear.
👍
I own an '85 Sonderwunsch Flachbau and had it since '98. You're right...such a visceral experience that has to be driven for the benefit of the car and the driver. Red/Black with optional 330BHP engine.
Hi Dave, That's awesome about your '85 Sonderwunsch! I'm glad you liked our little podcast we did. We plan on doing a full-length in depth drive film also! I'll tell you what, I just drove my car today and there is NOTHING like it. I'm so glad to know other owners feel the same way. I hope you enjoy your slant this summer!!
Love the Slantnose!
I agree - so beautiful!
Nice! I ordered my Grand Prix white w/ Burgundy interior 930 from the dealer in Fairfield, Connecticut. Looking at the order sheet now: Date was October, 1986 and price included the $600 gas guzzler tax. About $62,000 USD. Took a couple of months before it was shipped from the factory. Had almost as much horsepower a say, a V-6 Camry or Accord ;-)
Great color combination - It sounds like you're still enjoying it!
Wow! Great video and great story about your 930. I have a 1985 930 RoW car. It got a fair amount of tuning by Ruf before it was brought to the US. I loved your comment about the 4 speed you have because I have the Ruf 5 speed and it’s an amazing transmission. I actually flew to Pfaffenhausen and met the team at Ruf who built up my car. And Alois Ruf autographed photos of my car which really made it cool. I think that these classic 930s are super cool and they always gets stares and stops traffic. Thanks for such a great video! I really enjoyed it!
That's awesome! I'm immensely jealous of the 5 speed. To even try and find one, let alone get one for a reasonable price, is a nightmare. That's incredible you met Alois Ruf. His cars are absolutely legendary. I feel the same way about always getting stares and stops in traffic. It draws a lot of attention! I'm really glad you liked the video. Stay tuned for a more in-depth video Paul and I plan on doing once the weather warms up! Cheers
@@christophersaeli3833 Can’t wait to see the next video Christopher. Your 930 is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. Wish NY wasn’t so far from TX. Would be fun to snap a pic of the two of them together. Mine’s Black with a red and black interior. Yeah I’m told that Ruf 5 speed was a $16K upgrade. Crazy.
You are all missing the great 928's. Well maintained, full service history!!
Brill vid lads.... keep em coming.... (from a 930 turbo owner of some 30 years...)
Thank you. We are working on more cool videos, thanks for your support!
Amazing video and amazing car! 👌🏻
The 911 Turbo is the car I would buy if I won the lottery. Instead I have a 2020 718 Spyder. Great video men! Thanks.
THanks
Hello I have a 1985 911 Slant nose and was wondering how i can contact your guest, to ask him about how to get documentation and how to verify that this is a special wishes car Thanks Gary
I’d be cool it you could do an episode on 1970’s to 1980’s grey market Porsches. What’s so special about them, what makes them GM cars, what’s their worth/value. And most importantly history and how these cars got into the US.
We will add that to our to do list. Thanks

Thank you 😊
I have a white cabriolet slantnose pictured at 10:33 but with black fuchs. Almost a daily driver, as long as it isn't raining. There is no substitute 👊
Superb buy
14:39 So keep the four speed and swap the ratios. I have the 930.36 four speed behind an LS1 and seriously, the acceleration time wasted throwing another neutral between gears does not make any sense, particularly given the torque delivered by a turbo six or V8.
😱
That still has the air cooled flat
Yes
My Question is what does the owner of this car do?
The German ones were so much faster, and there are so many slant nose barn finds all the time in Germany
I got a nice 85 911 from Canada
