As always Magnus is laid back and easy to work with. Great job on this! I remember Mario Andretti's DP 935 slant nose reached a maximum bid of $300,000 back in 2018 at Mecum auction in Kissimmee. I think it was estimated to sell between $350k and $400,000. People who buy these cars, buy them for nostalgic reasons, the history and the uniqueness of these rare legends. My guess is most don't see themselves spending $350 to $400,000 on a vintage 911 when they can buy a modern car that'll run circles around it. I love these cars, and I love the Miami car culture and the passion behind the wheel of the cars that they drive and own. Miami Vice, exposed a lot of these rare cars that you see on the road today and helped inform the world of their existence. ✌️
All that cocaine cash coming into the dealerships in Miami during that time gave those dealerships first dibs on the cream of the crop vehicles with any options people wanted.
jp has the most killer car collection around. this and the w126 dohc 6 liter car with the recaros and nakamichi. oh my god i melt every time i see it. he also had the only ruf turbo r cab 996. i grew up and watched every episode of miami vice. imagine that a coke user owning a 935 . i love it. the 80's ruled!! great video Magnus.
Another great one Magnus...keep them coming man! Think you hit the nail on the head with your assessment of the popularity on the polarizing & extreme rareness of the slantnose!
Always loved the slant-nose! Also now known as the Synthwave Porsche. As for 80s fashion, that was an interesting time, I spent my teens and some of my twenties there, teal green haired punk/ new wave kid. Great times, and legendary cars!
Living thru the 80's in Atlanta.Slant nose cars were haunting the street scene regular. From mechanic race teams over nighting ,titanium half shafts to repairing fiber glass to turbos. In the eighties Atlanta had a heavy Slant nose and Miami and Road Atlanta connection. Disco's at night, an showing about town in a Slant nose got you front and center Like it is today, some like them ,some don't like them at all ( but these usually are not Sports Car people. So to me ,They Don't Count ! I'd pick a Slant nose over a RWB, and I would find one over a number of Porsche Models. Great car, brings back great memories, of drugs, sex and disco's. John Paul Sr and Jr Racing and all that craziness. Back when Atlanta was still a young City. Good show Magnus!
Thank you for introducing Zimmermann to the community. His son Patrick runs the business dp-motorsport today. They offer excellent lightweight body parts
So cool! Reminds me of my 930 Turbo II in Cyberpunk 2077 minus the headlights 🥲This film being shot against the picturesque backdrop of Miami really made it pop. Well done Magnus!
I know this guy knows what he’s talking about. He’s been a dealer in Miami forever, but DP was never ever before, Alois Ruf and his father in 1939; Zimmerman/DP built race chassis that’s what he was known for. Ruf modified and reengineered factory Porsche STREET CARS not race cars. Totally different.😮
Dude, you guys went all over Miami. This was a hero car for me when I was young, living in Miami/Fort Lauderdale. I like this spec very much. Usually, always see them in white with Brumos stripes. My high school buddy's dad raced with Brumos ( I think) in a 914/6 in orange. So I got to see some cool Porsche stuff. This is usable exotic I would love to own.
I don't imagine that Magnus would want to come to suburban Pennsylvania to drive my relatively-boring 996... but hey, if you're ever around, it would be an honor, sir!
I almost bought a -83 DP3 935 back in 2016 but due to the owners health issues while he was restoring it, it sadly fell through. I even went to Overath and visited Patrick Zimmermann, Ekkehard’s son, to try get some information about the car. Unfortunately that also fell through as they never kept any records of the builds of the cars back in the old days, but it was EPIC to talk to Patrick and get a tour of their shop’s facilities. The same building they built the cars for Le Mans in the 70’s. I haven’t given up on the dream of owning a DP Porsche.
Best thing about Magnus’s style and popularity is that it’s a counter to the obsessive “OEM only” culture in the Porsche community. Individuality is king.
I read/heard that Porsche liked it so much they made their own factory models, from what I recall. DP was on my radar back then because of COOL conversions like this!!! Even the design of the DP logo is cool. Great to know the company is still in business!!🖖🏻
Fun Fact. (I'm not sure if this is the car) . Pete Rose was in a restaurant commercial for gold star chili and he pulls through the drive through in a slant nose.
The problem why these aren't being talked about is because people buy them and park them. He has 2 of them and has them parked. I understand they are valuable, but they should be driven.
One of my old landlords I lived with owned a slantnose. I swear it was a kit. It looked good though. And he knew about the car... I had a streak going that year of living with weirdos with vintage cars. The roomate right before em had a Ferrari 308.
(EDIT: I just got a message from DP Motorsport confirming the car I have photos of was a 935 dpII. So maybe Pete owned a few DP Motorsport cars.) I have photos of that Porsche from 1989 when it was still red. My dad was a Porsche/Audio mechanic and Pete had brought his 930 into a small shop on Montgomery Rd in Cincinnati to be worked on. The name of the shop was Montgomery Automotive. My dad previously worked at Northland Porsche-Audi in the Forest Park area. I worked with him when I was a teenager, cleaning the shop, cleaning cars and sometimes picking up/dropping off cars. Anyway, I have a few photos of his 930 sitting outside that shop. Pete just died, so I went looking for more info about his old Porsche (because I remembered it) and here I am. If that is indeed Pete's old car, it was for sure red back in 1989 when I worked at that shop. I put the photos in a web gallery, but not sure I can post the link here (if it's restricted or not)... but I can share the link/photos if you want to see them. It's just point and shoot film camera snapshots. Or...maybe what I have photos of is a 935? The fog lights are different on the one I have photos of, but it's one Pete owned back then.
If I saw Magnus on the sidewalk I would ask him if he needs money or maybe a place to sleep. Seeing him behind wheel of expensive cars is just so crazy.
I personally was never a fan of the look of the slant nose. I always felt that the high fenders and the round headlights were one of the signature looks of a 911. I do appreciate the rarity and significance of the car, but not for me in the aesthetics department.
That is the best looking slantnose I've ever seen. Everything just looks right on that car.
I could do without the stripe livery, but it is a work of art.
The slant nose is hard to drive due to depth perception. Other than that it's Cool
@@Zzus321not really.
@@bngr_bngr what year is yours??

@Magnus. Dude, that car is FIRE! Everything about it. That steering wheel is so cool!!
The 80's aren't coming back...they've been here for years....people just started to notice how great of a decade it was post production.
What a stunning period car, the colour, the graphics, the wheels, oh it's just magnificent, very cool, Rj in Oz

I remember hating slantnoses when I first saw them as a kid. I thought they killed the classic Porsche look but I have grown to love them.
This color combo is the BEST!
9:56 nothing wrong with Miami Vice I'm still watching it on Tubi !!👍
Forty Years old!
Incredible.
Beautifully filmed. Definitely a bonus that this ride was originally owned by the hit king!
Another great one Magnus...keep them coming man!

This style still is an obsession
My God this my dream car, the flat nose Porsche is stunning!

Nice to share the DP history.

Love those wheels 🛞!!!
Love that car... thanks Magnus, entertaining stuff.
Congrads to the owner, very nice car. Also i like him that is not obsessed with data

I really like the owner, very modest and knowledgeable.
Beau Travail comme d'habitude🔬🛠🎬MAGNIFIQUE💪🙏Alex France🙏🌌

Awesome video, and the production quality is top notch 👌
My god, those turbo disc wheels.
Fire
Great video Magnus Walker...and JC you have a beautiful Porsche 935 DP.
Another cool feature 👍😎
I have always loved slantnoses so much. Perfectly 80s in every way.
Please add OPP to title so we know when a new one comes out? Love this new series!

Beautiful great car!!
Really love this build. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing!
This is what I grew up seeing in magazines and posters, what a dream to see.
Solid video thank you!
wow what a Car!! looks so great!!
The aesthetics of the slant nose profile combined with the greenhouse make for the most attractive 911 profile ever IMHO.

When there will be 944 episode?
Great episode, Great car, Cheers.
Great interview! Loved the 305 backdrop cinematography!
Jesus that thing is gorgeous. If i was the owner, i wouldn't sell it for any price. And i can imagine how high the offers must be.
What brand of side view mirrors are those? They are interesting.
Very sexy car.
Nice review Magnus ✌🏻
I'm really loving Walker in the east coast 👍
Best thing about Magnus’s style and popularity is that it’s a counter to the obsessive “OEM only” culture in the Porsche community. Individuality is king.
Saw this car at DRT Miami...absolutely gorgeous.
One cool ride!
dp motorsport cargo van is also iconic.

Ive always loved them.
Still love Miami Vice too , only tv worth watching (apart from this of course).
A friend in Vancouver, BC owned this car back around 2005. Cool car with a cool history.
So cool.
305 baby!
Owner has perfect car and car has perfect owner..... down to earth, appreciative and knowledgeable gentleman. 👍👍
Larry Chen has done a tremendous job showing the owners collection
Well done sir
Love it!
The cup mirrors are sooo good.
Saw this car in south beach two years ago. Me being the P car lover I am, I had to snap some pics/video. Killer car, looked even better in real life!
Love the shot @ 5:04 with the Alfa Giulia in traffic.
Awesome vintage porsche
Had a yellow with blue accents DP Motorsports poster as a teen…such a cool car!
80s porsche in Miami🤩 ,wild🤫
Hey look i found your channel, awesome.
Slant nose is in the DUPER COOL! category.
This guy got collection I remember Larry Chen video
ha! I used to own that car, and rebuilt the engine. It was so much fun to drive!
The kind of Porsche we all WANT!!!
Will you be at Hockenheim on the 10th/11th June?
Festival of dreams. I'm going in my GTS.👍
Fantastic car!
Awsome guy and taste all the best
drive over to Naples ;)
Then, drive up to Sarasota!
I love that magnus' voice is always slightly muffled from all his hair 😂
And the accent ,an English man that's lived in the states awhile 😊
Magnus, it's time for a LA night shoot feature please
Pete Rose should be in The Hall Of Fame despite the cheating scandal. It’s been long enough, MLB!
This car plucks premium Fontainebleau trim.
The wealthy people that could own these cars new are now either elderly or deceased. Beautiful slantnose
That DP is fucking gorgeous!
Fun Fact. (I'm not sure if this is the car) . Pete Rose was in a restaurant commercial for gold star chili and he pulls through the drive through in a slant nose.
All time greatest body style!
Very cool 👍

These things were fast. A top speed of 173 back in the 80s was way up there. I'm surprised they aren't worth more.
If I saw Magnus on the sidewalk I would ask him if he needs money or maybe a place to sleep. Seeing him behind wheel of expensive cars is just so crazy.
The Gandalf of Porsche himself
I personally was never a fan of the look of the slant nose. I always felt that the high fenders and the round headlights were one of the signature looks of a 911. I do appreciate the rarity and significance of the car, but not for me in the aesthetics department.
wow, what a car!
A 911 Turbo and Pop Ups whats not to like 👍👍
Old Magnus has never been around spinning tools!
Wasn't before RUF but OK. Still LOVE DPs
💪💪💪🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 Câmbio Manual que maravilha.
