I just can't do anything about it. And it's exactly like you said, I'm not sad. It's just.. The tears just come out if my eyes. I can't stop it. It just happens. Welcome to the estrogen family. :p

Stef, I'm so proud of you for embracing the flood of emotions womanhood is bringing you! A lot of us gals are taught by society that everyone likes "nice" girls. "Smile!" "You're pretty, what do you have to cry about?" "Nobody likes a debbie downer!" "Just put on a smile so you don't hurt anyone's feelings, okay?" This only gets worse as we experience puberty and all of it's storms. I wish my mother had advised me to just ROLL WITH IT GIRL! I wish my mother had taught me that instead of HIDING my emotional states, I should embrace them and in doing so, teach the people around me how I need them to treat me. Our emotions, even if they are hormonally driven, are VALID. So I say this to you now: Roll with it! Feel all the feels! Don't let people shame you about crying or being angry (OH YES the hormonal rage will be there too and it's marvelous!!!). Honor your feelings and your truths, even if you're feeling weepy and mopey and sad! And most importantly: DO NOT LET PEOPLE TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE CRAZY!! Welcome to emotions in HD! You can do it! Also, what would your advice be to a young trans girl who wants to come out, but has parents who may accept it but most likely won't allow any transition until i'm a legal adult? I feel like it would be freeing to come out, but it would be extremely heartbreaking to be denied any transition so i'm torn.
Pastafrola I am in fact seeing a therapist, who just like yours, is not too familiar with the topic but is open to learning and helping me with it. But I think I might do what you said and have her talk with my parents about it. Thank you! And Right back at you!

Good luck with everything! All I can say is be thoughtful as you undergo these hormonal changes of your health. Especially with blood clots. You may want to chat with your doctor about taking baby asprin or if you are 21 drink a glass of wine every day. Rub your legs really well once a day too! Preventing blood clots is important. Much love to you and thank you for sharing your journey.
+Kitty Fantastic Yeees. Blood clots are seriously the scariest thing. I had a DVT and PE when I was 18, just from taking oral BC higher in estrogen to combat acne... so important for people in "extra hormone situations" for lack of a better phrase (lol), to really monitor that... pregnancy and birth control are just a couple examples! you can be totally healthy and still get them :( also consuming anti-oxidants/superfoods and food with vitamin E is good! They're supposedly blood thinning.
Oh yeah, that emotional thing with estrogen is so real. I'm a cis woman so obviously my experience is not the same, but when I changed my birth control and got a bigger surge of estrogen once a month, it felt a lot like what you describe. That feeling that your emotions are right there, barely under the surface instead of being a little deeper down and the smallest thing can set them off. And the crying fits not necessarily being negative, but just being... there.. yeah. For me those crying fits feel like an immense release of emotion that I NEED to get out and crying is the only way.
I'm watching my way through your transition videos and it makes me so happy to see how much more ALIVE you seem as you're blossoming into your more comfortable self. :)

Yes, I can totally see that!
Estrogen is *opening* your emotional responses.
You'll see a beautiful flower - cry. A nice sunset - cry. Read a poignant story - cry. This is one of the best things that you get to have - a permanent ability to release every emotion.
Wait until you get a ~RAGE!~ reaction. You'll NEVER know anger as hot or as hard as a full-on hormonal rage. That was the one that I really unprepared for.. and now I know why so may of my older girlfriends that are going through menopause call them 'power surges'.
I thought that they were strong when I was a teenager but that is nothing to what happens when you're at peak saturation with estrogen. It may take you a few years to get to that point, but when you do sweetie, it is amazing. (Hence the 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' adage that is older than grit)
You are going to have SO much fun with that. Seriously, I'm not being glib. Woman rage is some seriously empowering energy.

Can someone please explain estrogen (and/or testosterone) dosage? What does the amount depend on? Thanks in advance~
+Alexionukia the initial dosage depends on what is already in your blood. Then in certain intervals (first one month, later more) your blood is checked again for hormone levels and adjusted accordingly. As everybody is different the same start level and same dosage can have lots of different results (which is why self medication is dangerous).
