*Custom ROCK SLIDERS for a Custom LAND CRUISER*
Our buddy, Alan, from Yankum Ropes, needed a little help protecting his Lexus LX450 rock crawler from damage when hitting the trails. They decided the best method was to add custom made rock sliders made by the main Fab Rat himself, Paul. Now not only will the rock sliders protect his rig, but they'll look awesome while they're at it! Check it out!
Make sure to follow along with us as we build and fabricate cool stuff!!

2:48 "once you tip it over, later on you will" yeahh funny you should say that Paul
Funny enough. I come from the future to tell you that he indeed tipped it over.
This is why when you consult a highly experienced professional you TAKE HIS ADVICE!
@@joaopedroalbernaz Well, SHE tipped it over. She could have easily turned into the tip and stomped the gas and saved it; but that only comes from experienced drivers.
Best thing about this show is it’s great to have friends. Don’t ever forget that guys.
Matt’s diet is amazing: potato chips, cheese sticks, red licorice, and Mountain Dew. Breakfast of Champions!
You do get a sense for the kind of guy Paul is. He’s got all these people in his shop, talking on his video and he’s pretty cool. Lets everyone participate, have fun, and he’s not trying to be the center of attention
This was one of my favorite FR vids.
Thanks for watching!!
another lucky guy who got a FAB RAT custom job on his truck!!!!
Lmao , Paul telling Allen about rolling over , came here after seeing mat’s and Paul’s video
Paul and Matt are the perfect example of truly nice people
My heart filled with joy when Paul said that he was putting a LS in the 80s model yota and making it a crawler.
We need to see it unfold!
I think he was talking about the 1st gen 4Runner he has on the trailer.
@@micahwest5347 which I think is a 86'
You want some pinecone liquor? A possum pecker?
@@mabehalzuqyadeek i love me some squidbillies! Thanks for the laugh
"I had a marker like 3 seconds ago" Story of my life!!! Every time I'm working on something!!
Markers and 10mm.
Love that LX450 I have an FZJ80 and it is the vehicle of my dreams! I really enjoy every time he shows up on both channels.
Love watching Matt so relaxed at Paul’s. Good people all around :)
Its funny being on the other side of 'idk what that is'
You all seem like a great group of people.
Whoa! Michelle beat Paul and Matt at "Name that Part"! Fun day in the garage, fun to watch, thanks!
@2:50 - "Once you tip it over later on you will...." LOL prophecy has been fulfilled!
Thanks kindly for another fine video folks. While I'm far from perfect in that regard having worked in the trades my entire life, nonetheless I very much appreciate the fact you all don't cuss incessantly in your videos. Kudos for the kid friendly language and overall positive tone always present. Blessing to you all and stay well down there.
Thanks so much for watching!!
That was done very well. Always fun to watch Paul do fab work.
Alan and Paul are working harder than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Pan to Matt and he's all kicked back and comfy chomping chips. Cracked me up!!! Way fun video.
Good to see Randy again and know he's still kickin'
Been following Paul and Matt and the rest of the gang for a couple of years, but don't remember seeing this video until now. It's nice to get a bit more background about Alan's rig.
I’m glad you liked the flag. Pleasure making it for you.
Hey! You’re awesome!! Thanks again for taking the time to do that for us! What is your info so we can send people your way? We’ve had a couple people asking. 👍🏻
@@FabRats Thanks for your interest. I’d love to offer my services specializing in C&C custom woodwork design. Please find me on Facebook Creative Intentions or Robyn Schaefermeyer Bunkerville Nevada. I’ll stop in your shop sometime. If you want more things with your logo I have it already to go.
Ha Ha that's fantastic. Now I liked that idea with the Inner guard (fender) I think I'll be pinching that idea as payment for you guys using my idea. :) Woot Woot.
Liked both videos!
Hey Matt Nice to see you on here also ;)
@@TimsBitsnPieces thanks Tim
Just like the MORR channel, I think I will have to place a request with RUclips to close Fab Rats. It's so bloody addictive I can't stop watching it 😜😎
For being blind to the master plan... those sliders came out pretty fair.
Nice work as always!
Best guest star cameo yet. Randy!
Just came to this video after watching the one of Alan actually tipping it over and hearing once you tip it over at the 2:50 mark!
You guys sure do some good work. Always fun having Matt and you working a project. Great video Paul.
Matt just chilled out loving life, keep her lit 🔥 guys
Hee yaa .
Always enjoy watching the fabrication and modifications and the fun you all have doing it.
I almost shed a tear watching the 80 fender get cut. The ‘97 is the best year for the LC platform hands down. LOVE the video!!! Last of the straight axles. The Birfields can handle 37’s. The transmission is overbuilt. I’m not in love with the 14 rubber coolant hoses though.
The Fabrication, get it done mindset is Awesome. You guys do some cool work. 👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
...and they have fun doing it!
Best thing about this show is that if you dont have any motivation if youre scared to pull the trigger watch a few of these problem solved.
2:48 ... That's hilarious. It's like Paul could see the future.
These are just brilliant vids, I especially love ‘Michelle’s’ what is this part segments, that’s a hoot hahahahah
Custom Fab, nothing better!
I like how you called out the future roll over......
Good to see Randy in Fab Rats.
New friends are always cool. That old Toyota sounds like a cool build.
More Land Cruiser stuff! 👍
80 Series Cruiser - Aussie Icon 🇦🇺
Paul foreshadowing” once you tip it over..”
Toyota..now you are talking serious quality and endurance...
i fab stuff up all the time so its awesome being able to catch different tricks and techniques from you guys and gals when your making different stuff wish i could return the knowledge haha but love these videos the most :) all of them are great but these types are my favorites and hats off to Michelle for learning more and more car parts
1997 was THE year. Many awesome rigs from that year. Best vehicle year since 1969.
I had a 97 lx450. It was the most comfortable vehicle I have ever taken off road, my wife called it the off road couch. So capable in stock form. Hated the fuel economy and sold it, I still regret that decision.
I have definitely done that before. I had a very nice Cherokee that I sold for no good reason. Now I regret it deeply.
@@robertservice2845 I know the fuel consumption is scary, but you spend very little on maintenance. I bought my 80 10 years ago for $6500 with 135 000 miles on it. I could have spent way more to get something more economical, but I though that I would never recoup the extra cash.
I just never look at the bill when fill it from empty (43 gallons). Ignorance is bliss.
Paul, this is the stuff that makes me homesick. Keep them coming. BTW where is Dar? He didn't even pop in for a nap.
He came in for just a few mins that day. 😉
“Nooooooooooooooooo!” 😏 Yessssssssssssss! Nice job guys!
If Allen sees this, thanks for talking to me and my brother outside Dick's Sporting Goods in STG a few months ago and pointing us towards Matts Offroad Recovery and subsequently Fab Rats. I was super stoked to see this!
Now this is how you make getting something awesome done fun, by hanging out with amazing friends who work together and it doesn't hurt that some of them have skills too👍😊...
You should’ve put a roll cage inside !! I like the way they rolled it in slow motion !!
I was lost on how she didn’t know what Jeep parts were what, but... then she hit us with the “salon stuff” and I knew 0% of them. hahahaha. Smart lady.
I only clicked cause I saw matt in the thumbnail! might have to subscribe
Hey guys. Love the video. My best rock sliders have always always been 2 inch body lift and then welding nerf bars straight to the frame. I’ve done it to several yota pick ups and all my yota 4-runners. When they hit the lift in the shop I lift all my trucks up by the nerf bars. Solid solid guys.nvr had to re weld
Another fabulous job from "Fabrats"!
Looks better than stock, it's stronger, and you have more clearance.
Nice job. Happy Motoring.
Michelle's the icing on the cake nice video
Takes confidence in your ability and ballsy enough to cut shit up. Beyond the point of no return. Okay, Burley Idaho in the house. Yankum Ropes
So excited when you guys drop a new video. My garage is under way with re arrangements and fab equipment. Thank you graciously for your motivation.
The tit for tat on naming the items was a good laugh.
I loved that as well.. I'd have gotten 0% on the second half for sure
@@Rx7man I actually knew all of them, but it wasn't a fair deal because I learned all of that stuff by paying for my second ex-wife to go through both Cosmetology School, and Cosmetology Instructors School. So I got to buy all of that stuff *_twice._*
I'm not paying for anything unless I know what it is, and that it is really necessary to have.
@@davide.burden2043 Ow, that's a special kind of hell!
@@Rx7man Indeed. I finally got all I could stand and moved her out. I did all the paperwork and filed the divorce papers myself. I got everything I asked for too. Mainly, I made it so she had to stop using my name to get people to give her credit.
Lesson learned. The divorce was final on February 1, 1991, and I've stayed single since.
Standard mezzanine: few engine blocks, a trans or 13, nice set of 6x6 elk antlers. 👌🏻
"once you tip it over, later on you will" Paul is a fortune teller.
I like it, but my 80 is safe for now. My
Metaltech4x4 sliders have done a good job, but I do see the positives for the added clearance. Good job!!
Awesome video Paul....Looked like you guys had a good time in the shop that day......
Not enough Paul's and Matt's in the world. Of course the people that surround them are cool also. Great people are like magnets, everyone wants to be around them. I know I would if I lived on their side of the country.
7:10 first time ever seen Matt chillin and everyone else busy.
Matt must have been sickly that day
Nah, it’s just that I’ve been watching all the recovery vids so Matt’s always active until I clicked on this vid.
Nice work, must have been Matt's excellent supervision! Stay safe, look forward to the Toyota build!
Its just Awesome that you all get stuck in and get it done ;-))
Still catching up..wow 2 years ago...great stuff
The 80 makes the banana look tiny.
You're as bad as I am when it comes to loosing your markers 🤭... all kidding aside, the sliders turned out awesome. Can't wait to see you get started on your Yota & see what all you have in store for it.
I'll be putting the final touches on the overland camper build Wednesday. Thanks for your earlier advice with it brother 👍
And once again excellent work Rat! Amazing how you get the job done with Matt in the way... (lol)
Awesome seeing the whole crew together
Great finished product. I enjoy seeing Matt on your channel along with everyone else.
I made rock sliders like that on my wj but mine are air tanks too
Pics or it didn't happen.
all great until you bash a weld on a rock with 80psi in the tank and it ruptures
@@chrisestill8825 rupturing with 80psi will just blow some dust around. Not the end of the world.
You know trouble is brewing when these guys get together!
Great job Paul! You don't see a Lexus 4x every day..
Dang y'all should have went and flexed it in Grandma's ditch!!!!
Woah Paul foreshadowing that the 80 series will roll over! It did roll over and it the banana. Video on Matt’s channel
This video has everything, landcruisers, Toyota pickups, and Matt. Best Sunday ever.
Glad you liked it!
Pitbull Rocker tires, yep this guy wheels
Sweet upgrade guys.
Love the Lexus, I run the living heck out of my 96 4runner. Only time I stuck her was in a mud hole that turned out to be a natural spring.
A job well done !
Wow that turned out really good!!! Great job all...
Great Job looks fantastic
Matt has lost a lot of weight. Congratulations Matt!
What a beautiful 80! I drive a 100 series, best cars ever made.
Yes, fast and nice built!
Love this platform! Comfort and capability
Well.. She rolled it over. lol.
land cruiser looks mint
Those rock sliders look awesome!
That sign is totally awesome and cannot wait to see the Toyota build
Sweet job! Really enjoyed this!
This inspired me to make my own sliders too. You guys are awesome!
7:08 Love watching Matt help out haha 😂
Nice looking build.
Awe, poor Land Cruiser! Hope to see it out on the trail again.
Great job! Function and form.
Another fabulous fabrication job by Fab Rats! 💪🏻😎
Thanks for watching!
Awesome job guys... looks great
Really nice job rounding off that triangle.
I think you jinxed him when you said he was going to roll it! I love the 80s series land cruiser! They have a cult following here in Australia!
Nice work!
