I can't imagine any other tow truck being so happy off-road. That had to be the same soft sand that Matt needed to help the white Jeep get through, but Paul's tow truck air'd down a bit, and not only got up those soft slopes, it did it while towing another Jeep. It seems to me that if they ever film a Mad Max sequel in America, they'd do well to hire Paul to build the vehicles.
Think that's the best Fabrats, Matts off-road recovery combination videos I've seen. That off-road wrecker obviously kind of put together with spare parts is one heck of a beast!
You guys remind me so much of my friends and our group (OK 20ish years ago) that it really makes me smile when you are on your adventures like this. That old tow truck is worth its weight in gold for stuff like this, and I bet she has some stories to tell if she could talk.
7:27 Always, always, always put the wheel n tyre under the vehicle at the earliest opportunity. I have lost count how many time doing this has saved me from serious injury.
Tow Truck is a beast. It was cool to watch the tires flexing and taking up all the little chatter bumps on the way out. Cool you can tow with the pressure that low.
That old sling truck is sweet! As for the Hi-lift jack, I have a strap that stays with my Hi-lift jack that I use it to strap the jack to the bumper so if it tries to kick out the strap stops it. It's just a pull strap that tightens when you pull it, and then you lift up on the clasp and it releases it. It tightens and loosens like the shoulder straps on the 4 or 5 point racing harnesses. It just makes me feel better about using it.
If I was a younger man I would move out there just to get stuck and have y’all come and rescue me! It looks like such a blast just hanging out and wheeling around
Between rat rod tow truck and the work on the Corvair you're doing for Matt, it makes me want to drop off my 85' F250 (4WD w/ the 460 motor) with you for a few months. It needs to be either a plow truck or a crawler. Or both. I'm in Idaho, but it'd be worth it. Fab Rats would show it the love it needs.
You guys need to find some railroad rail and make a front bumper for that tow rig. At around 130 lbs a yard should put enough weight for those tires back on the ground while towing. Plus it makes one hell of a “bomb proof” bumper. I enjoy the clips! Keep them coming!
Well that turned out not to be so leisurely after all. Good thing there was a mechanic along! Wait for a lot more back pain as you get older Matt! Sometimes just sitting in a chair hurts!!
Got to the shop about 1:30am saw new video Paul & Matt with their family's I know i'm going to have a good day now they always put this grumpy old man in a good mood. Love the tow truck.
New to your channel this is one of the best off road video I have ever seen before I think every state in a good of road towing company like yours is lol every time I get stuck in the neck of the wood or swamps where I live in it takes about 2 or 3 day to get out of wood or swamp after break or get the recovery vehicles unstuck to
THE BEST RECOVERY I've ever watched. Exciting, and SCARY for you guys and us....watching. Glad you guys are so very professional. Would be an honor to be stuck and recovered by the best !!
Now that's a tow truck... I'd drive it 😁👍 great video brother...O' sister too... Can't forget her sense she's the one behind the camera 😊 keep up the great videos & adventures.... And keep the tires aimed toward the ground and your eyes toward the Lord... see you all on the trails...
I miss living out in the sticks. I grew up in Caliente Nv. I've lived up in Saltlake City for the last 30 years. I love watching you guys do what I used to do. It brings back lots of memories. Thank You.
Hi! We're in AUS. Love your blog. Found you Via Matt's Offroad Recovery. We've been seriously into Land Rovers since the 1950s. My 4YO granddaughter now NEEDS to see your ”funny mouse with Poppy's 'oxygen' torch" whenever we baby-sit her. Keep up the great content. Cheers
Watching your tow truck takes me back.. I want to rebuild my old tow truck.. F250 with a man of war wrecker boom.. I found my old boom in the scrap yard and bought it back ..
That looked like so much fun. Thanks for the "ride along". My dream truck was a Toy until I got my square body. You've got the best of both worlds right there. It's good to see the Banana Crew and the Taco just having a joy ride.
It's really hard not to like Matt on some level, he's just one of those people, (don't tell him I said that), these video's make me wanna sell the new King-Ranch dully, and have Paul build a bad-ass rock-crawler, 🤔, great video guys, thanks for sharing.
As others have said, what a special group of people Having fun, giving each other crap, nobody is upset or getting offended. I love it. Was that axle kinda undersized for what you were doing? When the jeep was climbing the rocks earlier it just looked much less substantial than the Tacoma or the Banana.
Its a much lighter car than the Tacoma and Banana, so it doesn't need the same size axle.. Its a bit of a tradeoff, a lighter car doesn't need the strongest parts, if you want more durability you can build with stronger parts but then its not as light anymore..
Sittin here in Auburn Washington enjoying this video. Noticed Washington plates on that jeep that was stuck, there are people in Washington that can wheel. Lol Your videos are great, keep em coming. Thanks!
best line by Matt " I spent most of my life not even knowing there was such a tool " I can totally relate. second best line. if you guys need anything I'll be over here supervising. "with a hand full of chips"
Happy Thanksgiving 2021, I am binging on Fab Rats and Matt's Off Road and I feel like I am hanging out with my own Family. I am also learning so much. You guys are special
You guys rule the back country! Adapt, improvise, overcome! Your the equivalent to the Marine Corps of OFF-ROADING 911! In fact it should be part of your website! SEMPER FEDELIS
Thanks for the slow motion Michelle, i'm almost rolling on the ground laughing. Don't pay attention to the hateful people, keep laughing and enjoying life. Love you guys!
It’s a Jeep thing ,my wife has a Brand new Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk. It has a built in air compressor, you can raise it or lower the body about a foot . Sport mode and paddle shifters. Select your terrain mud, snow, rock. I like it👍
Just here to say Grandpa Sherm's tow truck is sick
yeah that thing purrrrrs
More on that truck please!!
Love the 383, sounds mean. Cool truck
Its built better than most wheelin' rigs lmao
When in doubt camera out. Hahaha
you should do a walkaround on the tow truck that thing soo cool looking
Would love to see a video on that!!!
Mmmm!! and that beat sooo sweet!!! Some engine's just hit the best notes😍

Check out the BSF recovery channel. They have an off road tow truck very similar to this and volunteer at off road parks.

@@MrJamesLuz BSF Recovery is awesome.

Thanks for the kind words!
That tow truck is AWESOME 🇺🇸! We need to see more of it
Great vid Paul! That wrecker may be the best one on youtube. It looks like something off a movie set.
Another fine family outing folks. Thanks for sharing a look into your lives, I appreciate you doing so. All the best and stay well.
Thanks for watching!

Fab Rats and Matt's Off-road Recovery. Good stuff.
Right i am sooooooooo addicted
God Bless the Old Guys who can still get down on their knees and do the work and still have fun!!!
You people are salt of the earth!👍🏼. Your attitudes, are priceless!
Sherm's truck reminds me of Tow Mater.
I was thinking that too lol
First thing I thought of too 😂😜
That’s actually this trucks nickname!😂
@@FabRats awesome!
No doubt, that’s why I’m in the comments cause I knew everyone was thinking that!
"paul's dad's wrecker" is a beast and its what brought me to Fab Rats and MORR.
I found 3 videos with it, can't wait to see more!
That has to be the best video you have ever made!!! Very Entertaining, and having MAtt there made it even better!!!! Good job
Thanks so much for watching!!
Yep. I love these ones. Reminds me of wheeling and wrenching with my brother
10:16 "Welcome to Jeepin', somethings always going to break" !! love it.
It happens been there done that didn't have a offroad wrecker to come save us. Fantastic video guys
7:27 Always, always, always put the wheel n tyre under the vehicle at the earliest opportunity. I have lost count how many time doing this has saved me from serious injury.
It's so obvious that you and Matt are good friends, only good friends can take the piss out of each other like that.
Cheers from Tokyo.
Stu
Excellent family outing. Very well edited. Please show a short video on the the repair of the Jeep. What actually broke
.
Bad-ass 4x4 vehicles...especially the RatRod Tow truck!
Enormously enjoyable, entertainment. You let us in. And we can tell what’s said behind the veil.
By far this is the best video yet. Matt must be pretty smart, "I've got a broken screwdriver in the jeep". All part of his devious plan.
Never seen Matt without a Winder towing shirt...EVER! Hell has frozen over.
Tow Truck is a beast. It was cool to watch the tires flexing and taking up all the little chatter bumps on the way out. Cool you can tow with the pressure that low.
Welcome to the club Matt, doing something simple like sneezing and your back goes out,I sat down then later getting up my back went out just sitting.

That is how repairs are supposed to go one doing the work, done doing the helping, and one hand in the tools. Teamwork makes the dream work 😜
If I was a younger man I would move out there just to get stuck and have y’all come and rescue me! It looks like such a blast just hanging out and wheeling around
What a fun way to spend a day off with the family!
With days off like that who needs to go to work?!? 😂😂😂
love that tow truck. It's got some class.
Always a very great time and adventure when Paul & Matt get together!
I love that old Chevy tow truck, I’d love to see some videos on how it’s set up or some build videos on it
That trick truck is the winner in the deal. That Banana-rama never had a chance to tow that 2 ton jeep!
Old heavy chevy is badass!
I love that old wrecker!
You and Matt and your families are wonderful people. You have family fun and are always willing to help people in need. 👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Good times and no winching up the hill with a side by side in tow, Papa Dars jeep just intensified the journey.
Hands down best sounding offroad tow truck I've seen so far.
Even when things are going well you always seem to be having a good time. Great attitudes
"Even when things are going well" I have a good time too... LOL 😜😂👍

Mad Max tow truck! I love that rig!!
Tow Mator's Legacy lives on! Good lookin rigs y'all have out there
Love it. Thanks for sharing. What a fine old wrecker, surprised we don't see more of it.

That's cool that Merlin is your cousin fabricating and building stuff definitely runs in your family
I LOVE that tow truck! Just a little newer than my daily driver. Just a simple old no nonsense what needs doing truck!
Hey Fabulous!, Fantastic!, 🐀's!!, I love the way you drive the Tow Truck as a Beast!!, especially after airing down!!!!👍👍😂😂😂
9:47 Just a friendly Jeep slap on the rear 😁
Man that tow truck looks like "Sir Tow Mater" or simply Mater from Cars movie. I love it.
Great episode... 🤠
If you're gonna break down on the trail I can't think of two better guys to have with you than Paul and Matt. Great Video!
You guys rule the back country! Adapt, improvise, overcome! Your the equivalent to the Marine Corps of OFF-ROADING 911! In fact it should be part of your website! SEMPER FEDELIS
That was another awesome video... I live In Wisconsin so seeing all the rocks and sand makes me want to come out and visit that land
You don't enjoy the clay and tundra anymore?
Todd Pemper - Norther Arizona and southern Utah is a special area. So much to see and do with a lifetime of trails.
That tow truck is a beast! Love it….. 👍🏻👍🏻
I had doubts about that tow truck, but you definitely know how to build stuff to handle that environment. Cool stuff.
That chevy is pure awesomeness! I love ! Should wheel it more often!
Wow. One very bad ass chevy. I had an 84 manual with the granny gear and that thing can go anywhere.
Thanks for the slow motion Michelle, i'm almost rolling on the ground laughing. Don't pay attention to the hateful people, keep laughing and enjoying life. Love you guys!

Good four wheelin., complete with all the fun!
That wrecker sounds wicked lol a pulling machine.
