Kinda sad and yet heartwarming, at the same time. Clicked on this one not really realizing it was posted 2 years ago. Had a bit of a shock seeing Paul’s dad. Bless this family ❤️🇷🇴
Your imagination and drive to recycle and make something outta nothing is just incredible. Love watching the level of detail you put into your project.
Cool to see an abandoned classic truck be built into a cool tow truck. Matt building a classic station wagon recovery vehicle and now this cool project starting up. I'm glad I saved my late Dad's 71' Chevy C-10, I started restoring it little by little but I'll get it running again. Glad to see classic cars and trucks being restored for good use again and good conversation piece.
Three trucks, well, two and a half, for a cool yard ornament and, no doubt, an extremely capable tow truck sounds like a really good investment to me. Not to mention the possibilities with the parts not used in the wrecker. Nice! I can't wait. Stay safe!
Paul after seeing your dad's tow truck and the other one in your area that is off road, I can't wait to see the beast you make to help your adventures and others your will come in contact with !!! Keep putting out the great ideas. Your creative ideas are those that you and others hope are indestructible . You always realize they can be fixed if not !!!
Two buddies arrange to meet up in the desert for a hunting trip. 'We'll meet by that old beat up rusty pickup'. Several hours later... 'Where the heck is that pickup?!'
It warms my heart to see another relic towed out of a field to be repurposed for use as a work truck...even your just gonna use the frame...to bad that hood was t still there..I really like the projects you guys work on..its the kind of stuff I'm Intrested in watching.
I wonder if they are able to ship them overseas? Letsdig18 has had to stop overseas orders because he was losing something like $60 for every one he sent.
@@TrevorDennis100 Well the further you live the more it costs to get there! Just saying, glad to connect the FabRats with someone that may be able to help.
Thanks so much for getting one!! And yes, you just started shipping them internationally! Now if we could just figure out how many to buy so we don’t sell out in a day again.😉 you guys rock!!
Awesome! Now we have something really good to watch as you build up a wrecker, this winter won’t be so bad after all..... Building a wrecker from scratch (and dent)!
I know that they claim that clear cutting the cedar opens the land up for more wildlife. I have yet to see anything out there in comparison to when the cedars were there.
Clear cutting like that is wrong! When he was saying cedars everywhere I thought they pulled it out of the forest but nope that use to be a forest and I would think the wildlife would love the forest more than a damn desert? But yeah not right must habe been beautiful at one point.
I smell something awesome coming in the future can’t wait to see it coming together!!!!Maybe you will have it built before Matt gets the corvair going but now that rudy is on the build it will be a toss up!!!!
Paul, I can't wait to follow the build! Your's and Matt's channels are two of the few that I am never disappointed with - in fact, I hit Like before I even watch the videos! 😎
Absolutely love the square bodies and a Chevy guy and I'm definitely a fan. And I'm also tow-truck driver in Colorado and I love watching your content Can't wait to see what the tow truck looks like. Have a wonderful day
Paul you should consider doing a summary video of all the projects you've got going on and maybe consolidate each into it's own little series on your channel. Gotta love it!
So between this channel, Matt’s channel, and Busted Knuckle films doing their $5,000 cheap jeep challenge with Bleeping Jeep channel I bought me an XJ!.. supposed to be here in the morning 😎🇺🇸 Hope to see out in Utah some day!
That cab would sure be a nice feature on a "new" tow truck. It's too bad the hood "walked away" sometime in the past years. We had a '51 or '52 Chev 1-ton, 5 window pickup many years ago. No one had any idea how popular they would get in time. Now they get all sorts of neat things done to them. One even got a radial airplane engine stuffed in the front! It's just a bit unwieldy in traffic but it sure looks neat.
Scaring me with the side load on that boom! Going to be a rad project! Any concerns about the frame after being burned? Sometimes changes the temper of the steel?
Absolutely Awesome! I feel like you and Matt would be my Bestfriends if I lived close! Can't wait to see this project start! I love old Tow Trucks!! I love the Square Body tow truck! You and Matt's biggest Fan from Pennsylvania! We Derby Too!!!
Looks a lil like ‘Tow-Mater’- nice ... can’t wait to see the finished product .. get an old C-30 drive train w/a Dana 60 w/locker on the front .. do some PTO driven winches front and rear and go real old’s-cool
Here goes - total off-road tow truck I bet. Great addition to a out-of-the-box crew. Along for the long haul [no pun intended]Paul on this build. Really(haha).
I can remember when that 0l' Chevy came out of the factory. It looks to be a '49 with the 1 piece side window's in the door's (No Vent Glass). That one was a FANCY one too with Cab Corner Glass in it, Dang❕
I'm pretty sure 90% of the houses in Long Valley have at least 2 non running trucks somewhere on the property. I think the hood is still on the one hanging over the gorge on Skutumpah. Good luck on the build.
The fact that they didn't leave cover probably points to no. Starting new trees in wide open spaces would require regular trucking of water into the property.
@@grahamb1 they just did this to the mountain to the East of my home. It looks terrible. They literally just chewed up all the living things. It makes a mess as well. They say it helps with wildlife but I can't see how destroying what they live in is helpful.
Your dad's wrecker is my absolute favorite truck right now!
It's really cool to go back in time and see your dad in these older videos. ...
It's just as cool as seeing your mom in the latest video

Nice that you are saving it rather than letting the desert reclaim it!👍 That cab has the optional five windows, that’s desirable.

You guys need to pump up the production on these videos! They’re gold. I can’t get enough.
Glad you like them!👍🏻
Do you still have those Rally Wheels? Restoring a 79 Chevy Stepside. CHP shot it up in a high speed chase in 1979, the rally wheels were ruined.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Fab Rats hats and shirts are worth the money. Very good quality!

hope to see lots of vids of this build. its not every day we get to see a full build from scratch of a cool project.
You gotta love people with vision. For some they see junk, you look at it see potential. Kudos to you.

@@1nf1d31 it's so sad to see. They are doing it all over in this area. They literally just bring in equipment with chains and tear everything down.
Looking forward to more build videos of the tow truck.
One man's junk is another man's treasure I'd like to see you build that tow truck 👍
I can't wait to watch this tow truck build. God bless
Picked it up by the front bumper .How many vehicles can you do that to today ??
that front bumper is stamped out of a single piece of 1/4" steel and weighs 74 pounds with no brackets.
Cool little video it was great seein Paul, his Dad and Landon working together RIP❤
As a teen, my friend and I would scour the area for wrecks and abandoned junk. We sold it as scrap and cleaned up the atea.
Thanks for the new content. Cant wait to see how the tow truck turns out

New subscriber from Matt's off road. You're all a bunch of great hard working guys.
Looks like a good project. My older brother used to build trucks. He used to say, " A cab and a frame, and you're halfway there."
love your videos.... your attitude is fantastic.
I love the look of your tow truck... It looks amazing
Can't wait to see how the tow truck comes out...like watch your show...keep them coming...👍

You man handled the tail end of that frame like a "BOSS" 🤙💪
A COE would look really cool!
I saw a custom one at a car show where the owner put a monster V8 right behind the cab of the COE in an enclosure.
I absolutely love that tow truck.. I wish I had the fab skills and tools at my disposal to build things to that caliber
Paul you should consider doing a summary video of all the projects you've got going on and maybe consolidate each into it's own little series on your channel. Gotta love it!
That's the baddest tow truck I've ever seen... looking forward to seeing what y'all come up with on this build!
Start a reforestation project to protect the water table. Reclaim the desert back to forest. That would be worth watching.
You guys are inspirational in that you take junk and repurpose it and it is useful again. American ingenuity.👍
Like they say, somebody's trash is somebody's else treasure. Can't wait to see the final product. Howdy from Texas!!
Imagine how nice it would look in that desert if they would have planted trees when they cut down the trees. Nice truck..that frame looks mint
A '50s ratted out tow truck with an exposed engine would be awesome.

Sad to hear they stripped the land of all the trees. Good fid on the old parts, looking forward to the build.

when its built, im gunna miss seeing that awesome grandpa sherms tow truck... id love to have that truck
Oh it’s not going anywhere. Don’t worry.👍🏻
Old tow truck sounds great!
Damn I love that old tow truck. Vehicles don’t last that long around here with the salt on the roads.
That would be so cool to be .. titled and registered .
cant wait to see the build of the new tow truck...
Looks like its going to be an interesting build... cannot wait to see the finished truck...
All those old parts are better than some of this new junk with all their computer parts.
Looks a lil like ‘Tow-Mater’- nice ... can’t wait to see the finished product .. get an old C-30 drive train w/a Dana 60 w/locker on the front .. do some PTO driven winches front and rear and go real old’s-cool
That will be a fun build to watch!
Paul This build will be fun to watch .
Come to nevada I will show you some abandoned trucks. They age well in the dry desert. I bought a 1960 bug that sat for 20 years and has little rust.

I'm sure you'll make it look and work great.. greattings from Los Mochis Sinaloa
Matts corvair and your tow truck will definitely be a neck breaker when they're both together doing a recovery..
cant wait to watch the progress .
I'm just here for the awesome tow truck and the scenery
Talkin' bout building a new tow truck in front of your old tow truck. That's cooooold.

So THAT"S where I left that truck....damn...
Love that old chevy tow truck. I want one real bad.
That truck will be awesome great video can’t wait to see it finished !!
Nice video - nice project - nice reusing of existing stuff that would otherwise waste away. :)
This going to be a great project
Nice find
Looking forward to this latest project. Are they going to replant more cedar trees?
The fact that they didn't leave cover probably points to no. Starting new trees in wide open spaces would require regular trucking of water into the property.
Nope, they just destroy the plants and trees and move on to another area. It leaves a huge ugly scar in the wake of their destruction.
