This weekend of ebay sales was absolutely insane for me. My wife and I listed a ton of items near the end of last week and the sales started to roll in soon after that. You can't sell it if it isn't listed!

@@kasandrabrown8611 for me it comes down to time & discipline. I work a full time job and only sell on the side. Thrifting and buying is also addicting. But I'm a firm believer that if you don't list it the same day you buy it, you will never have that level of interest or motivation to list it once it hits the death pile lol. I've also gotten in my jollies after having a great (for me) sales day and it's always after a bigger list day or a couple of listing days in a row. You would think that's enough motivation, but we're all human.
Josh, I really enjoy your channel. You are so friendly and upbeat and I love how fast you talk and do things! I appreciate all of your tops and your transparency on ebay fees and COGS and taxes. My friends and family keep me stocked in boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and bubble mailers! Other than tape, I have never paid for shipping supplies. Others starting out might find that to be a good tip! 2nd tip I have to share is taping a tape measure to the front of my desk. Quick way to measure items for listings and to measure boxes when printing labels! I am pretty proud of that idea!!

Great job Josh! We had a good sales weekend also. Found a vintage Hermes adding machine at a church fill a bag sale and sold the next day for $249 . BOLO for sure!

I've saved a lot getting styrofoam, bubble wrap, soft bags, nice boxes- all FREE at the liquidation stores. I keep finding tons of poly mailers, clear bags, thermal labels, etc from the Amazon like liquidation store from $7 to a few pennies. Friends give me so much shipping supplies I had to tell them "I'm Good". Had too much. TRULY BLESSED & GRATEFUL!

It's always fun when you have one of "those" days where just a ton of stuff inexplicably sells. I average like 2-3 items a day, but last weekend I ended up having 18 items to ship out! Always nice when you walk into the post office with a large Ikea bag full of packages in both hands :)

Thanks for the bubble wrap lead. When I was working, I scrounged a lot of it at the office but now that I'm retired I've had to get very inventive packing fragile items. I just ordered the 700 sq ft size!! They have a block for "special shipping instructions" and I was very tempted to say "Pack carefully, in bubble wrap" :)

I do so well with new and used vintage trucker hats. I have so many listed in my eBay store. And I’m selling ones that are quite used and dirty as well in LOTS as we speak. People still love them. Maybe others clean them up and resell them. 👍🏻

Just a small tip, it's often cheaper to use Pirate ship first class with insurance for light weight expensive items. The insurance upcharge on eBay is significantly higher than Pirate Ship's insurance.
I always ship media mail if it’s available, it’s only a day or two slower in my experience. If you want insurance for some reason you can just add it to the media mail package

I went to Goodwill for the first time in two years. We don’t have bins. They have stuff on shelves but they only have two walls of shelves. I’m so deprived! LOL! I found the bopit I mentioned in the other post to Richard who bought it from you, but I left it there. I didn’t want to go home empty-handed so I figured since you sell a lot of shoes, I’m going to try that. Wish me luck! LOL.
Since I’m going to have to live with the shoes until they sell, I only bought the ones I really like. Haha!

Minute 19: the Bowl. A quick resizing on the box length, to make the length the same as the width, of that box you used, would have dropped you back to the 3 pound rate and saved the void fill.

Thanks for all the content, really enjoy it. With the book being education material without ads I would have done Media Mail. I am not 100% that is within the rules but from how I understand them I feel it would be. It also depends on the difference in price, if it were only a dollar or 2 I probably would have just bumped it to priority anyway since media mail has been so slow recently

I agree but MOST hats should go in a box especially if it has a structured/stiff crown - I do ship "floppy" hats in bubble mailers wrapped in tissue paper. My eBay listing template has a note in the description on how I'll ship so if they READ they know what to expect :-) Just rcv'd my 1st order of eBay 10x8x6 boxes. I'm pretty well stocked on my frequently used items so I thought I would check them out (as I mostly ship priority but do sell some book lots which ship media mail) and they are AWESOME! Saves me sourcing small AMZ boxes :-)
Josh, do you only use fixed prices? Sometimes I wonder about what to charge and have the idea that if I use a start price maybe someone will bid it up higher. Love your videos! You sold a lot of hats yesterday. Nice to know there’s a market for them.
I've had too many issues with buyers not paying for auctions. I only auction items with very high demands.

Interesting reading the amazon reviews of the bubble wrap and they aren't good but I trust you more!
People with negative experiences are far more likely to take the time to leave a review that people with positive experiences. I try to remember that any time I read reviews of anything.

Wilton vise was probably worth quite a bit more than that. A good name to keep your eye out for - probably the top vise making company.
You’re right on Wilton, definitely the name to watch for.
I just learned a lesson with vises the other week, be careful with the weight. If you try shipping a vise over 70lbs you might have a very hard time

Hi. Do you have a video that lists all the supplies you use to shop eBay stuff? I'm starting to ship more and would like to get a set number of supplies, instead of running to the local store every time I make a sale.
Minute 9: small Blue Vise. At that size and weight a Med Flat Rate box would have been a good choice. On some vises, the end cap on the tightening handle unscrew,s, to slip the handle out, making it even smaller, so a Reg A might even have worked, but hard to beat Pirate Ship, but not all your viewers have accounts.
My current problem is the 24 hours in a day lol I need to prioritize more to list more! 😅

Hustlin hooks have a great spreadsheet for resellers. I use go daddy bookkeeping.

Josh, what are those lights you are using for photos? I bought those 3 set LEDs that you talked about in earlier vids for $50. I sent them back. They were too short and not very bright. The stands were pretty cheap also. Gonna stick with my box lights for now until I can find something less bulky that works.

That's weird. You're the first person that hasnt liked those (that I'm aware of). The stands were fine for my height but I am a bit short. The lights I have now were sent to me by GVM. They are very pricey but work extremely well. I have 3 of them. I use one for videos and the other 2 for product lighting
One easy way to increase your profit is to stop offering free shipping on goods, list products that you want to flick quick by offering 1/2s in shipping costs. You would be surprised how much extra your bottom line will increase.
