So my day job is at a shipping store. As the office manager, who deals with all the claims for damage, I can say Josh is right. Please make sure you pack like your box is going to be handled. They are actually not handled much by hand, they are traveling on conveyor belts and automated systems. Your little box is pushed along with big heavy boxes. Especially going into this season, pack it really well.

Ebay is pretty easy to get on the phone actually ... go to the website and request a call back. Works for me every time. Whether you get someone that knows what they are doing is a different story altogether.

This is a great video. I've been doing ebay part time and off and on since 2009. I kind of miss the old free for all days, it was fun but then a lot of scammers came in and ruined that. I got really serious about it becoming full time a few years ago and it's a lot different from part time to full time. I love it though. I don't know how I stumbled on your channel but your content is the best.
On a side note, I had one of your video's on the other night when I went to bed. I forgot to activate sleep mode on my tv like I usually do so apparently your videos just kept going from one to the next as I slept. Which caused me to have a dream where you were doing a sourcing a video and found my old high school journal at a Goodwill and started reading it on the video.
I'll never forget to activate sleep mode again.

Always double check that the scan form number matches the number of packages you have. Sometimes packages can be left off the form. eBay is a software and it glitches from time to time.

I'm half considering renting a Uhaul and driving across the country to go thrifting! Oregon is too expensive! It's hard to flip when the items in Goodwill cost as much or more than at Wal-Mart.

Josh, you spoke the exact words I would if asked. I prefer to be a one person operation, keeping it small. I've been an eBay seller for nearly 20 years as well as selling on several other venues and my own website. I don't want to get bigger because then I'd need employees. No thanks! Keep up the good work!

Great video sir! Everyone has their own workflow and all when it comes to listing; so the tip I am sharing, please take it as a good practice tip. Its what I use and works wonders when it comes to listing items and it also helps keep my death pile at bay too. This is how I mange to get about 30 listings a day if I go ham.
    1. I wake up and go source (mainly the bins) for like 2-3 hours and try to get as much as I can all while looking up comps on them.
    2. Get home and clean and prep all items for photos.
    3. Take a break for about 30 mins
    4. I take my pictures of each item from the haul for the day - I make sure to grab pics of the weight of each item if not sure how much it weighs & I also take a pic of the item being held up to the bin letter I am going to put it in before moving on the next item.
    5. I then upload all the pics to a folder on my computer called "needs posting"
    6. I then start cross posting to both eBay and my own personal website 1 by 1 deleting the photos from the folder as go.
The above is all done in about 6-8 hours depending on how much cleaning I have to put into the product. I make it a point that I am not allowed to go sourcing unless my items from the day before are all posted.
Taking the pictures all at once vs trying to search each item on eBay on your phone and then starting a post and taking the pictures of it each time seems to slow me down.

Josh I have been selling part time on eBay. Majority of what I sell is items from my own personal collections. But I do do some thrifting as well to flip for profit. I am a top rated seller. I have learned so much watching you, Lonnie and CP. among others. I appreciate you showing everything as it has been helping me to hopefully grow into possibly a full time reseller. Just log into your account, click the help button, contact us on the bottom of the page, then there is another link or two you click to have them call you. Make sure to bookmark it for a shortcut for next time. It's about a one minute wait as opposed to one day using their Facebook business page.

I used to write the zip codes on the boxes, BUT I have found a much faster method when bulk shipping. Since you already wrote what's in the box on the box, you can use the page where you print the labels from to match the item with the correct label since that page shows you the item with the respective address. I've found it a lot faster than matching zip codes and it also takes out the step of writing down the item and the zip codes on the packages.

How about a video where you test the quality of packaging i.e. kicking it like a football and see what survives???? I follow a similar method for my packages by assuming it will get drop kicked 20ft to the buyers door and for $100+ items I assume they will be body slammed then drop kicked.

As always Great quality content ! Both on here and the podcast. :) That last little bit is Extremely vital to the resell field (the 3 p's)
I can't tell you how many times I've seen something that I was interested in or would fit the bill for things I enjoy reselling But the profit margin was slim to none. So it was pass on my part and on the polar opposite I've gotten some stuff that was the right price and plenty of room for profit.
As for the item prep, one constant for me is related to comics. There's a bit of work that goes into the whole ordeal, in order to get it to a point of being a "desirable sale".

    Hi from the UK,
    Brilliant vid.
Just a tip when photographing mirrors. To get a nuteral immage in the mirror
get a sheet of white paper and put this in front of the mirror. The mirror will
reflect this as a nuteral white immage and eliminate any other reflections
    like your house and lawn.
Just something that I learned from a pro photographer frien of mine.
    Hope this is of use.

I always print labels for my items before packing the items completely. I just weigh the item and overestimate a bit for the weight of packaging, or weigh it in the box, and put in the dimensions of the bubble mailer or box, then print the label, then move on to the next item. Once all the labels are printed I match the labels with the items by looking at the item name on the label. Then I just pack and label all the items one at a time and put them in a bag, or just carry them to my car.

I have sought business opportunities elsewhere, namely on Amazon FBA where I have sent in 2300 products to their gargantuan warehouses ready for purchase by members of the public who are perusing the Amazon website or app. I have sold a few bundled desktop personal computer motherboards (I won't tell you what I bundled with these motherboards, I'm kind of a secret squirrel) already on the Amazon seller platform, and so far I'm rather pleased with this alternative method of selling my items. But yes, two days ago (having been pissed off with Ebay fees/Ebay customer scams/fancied a change/any other reason I can't be bothered to have explained whilst writing my comment) I removed all my items (again, I'm too lazy to write how many items were in my Ebay store) from my Ebay Store."

Lucky for me i don’t have to put much thought into prep time since i do a lot of it while at work and on the clock for my normal job.

I have been watching you for a while now. I guess I was watching Lindey Glenn and her unboxing videos, she mentioned you in one of her vids. S I came and checked you out, it was about the time of your gaylord unpacking, so it's been a while. You always seem to give such good valuable info, it is not bs...you know, some youtubers just feed the beast with videos that dont have any meat in them. Thank you for taking the time to give good content. I am constantly learning something from you, thank you for that.....Hi! Haley and Mose!

Great video once again! That first picture of the item is very important I've found aswell. Proper lighting helps a lot with that. Thanks for the great tips and being transparent!

Hope you all had a great vacay! FYI , I was telling my daughter about the 18,000 piece jigsaw puzzle you saw at one one the stores. Well I we talked I looked up the price on one of them... between $150.00 and $400.00. If you see another one check it out if the package isn’t open! Enjoyed today’s video, very enlightening! Good luck! Be safe! Love your golden, mine is a English cream golden (white);. Her name is Lily. Be blessed!

Part time maybe 8 hours a week I do 100k annually. I list on the couch while watching tv... around midnight I wrap my orders. I send a pickup request to usps, and set my orders on the porch.i always keep 500 items in the store. I won't mess with shoes or clothes. I get most all of my stock for free, usually when my clients die they let me take whatever I want. I get free tape, boxes, and Styrofoam. Ez breezy. I am a power seller, 100 % positive feedback

Just a heads up most carriers look for 2 inches on ALL sides between item and inner wall of the packing box if you ever run into an insurance claim situation. Better safe than sorry, no one wants a claim denied for inadequate spacing.

I think that 35k-45k is a great goal. Going much passed that seems to have diminishing returns. I am contemplating keeping a job and just trying to make that 35k ish while maintaining a job.
Great video Josh and nice sunglasses :p

Been really enjoying your videos lately and got out to a couple Goodwills this weekend! Managed to pick up a cool chair for $3 (that I'll probably keep actually....) and a copy of Settlers of Catan I was able to flip for a $20 profit within 10 minutes of posting it on facebook marketplace! Super cool! Shame my product knowledge is too limited to know what else there might resell for a good profit! I'll have to make some time to go there when I can walk around and look stuff up on my phone. :D Glad to have found this channel, it's super fun to watch!

Rub it in buddy. Ive lived in Florida for 10 years and I moved to my home state of Michigan about 3 weeks ago. It is so cold here. Definitely when you take vacation and not listing new items, sales go down. I love your videos. Ive sold on Ebay since 2002 and need the kick in the butt to get listing more item. Im curious as to what you use to keep track of your numbers to. I need to start printing the scan form. Thank you for that tip

I did want to ask if you could make a future video on how you do returns because I really like to learn how and what you do returns on also the money side of things and how it affects your bottom line. Thank you again for all you do!

Thanks for keeping it real. My husband keeps hinting for me to do RUclips. I am a full time technology teacher, so it is something I can do, but with ebay as a part time gig and teaching as my full-time job, there is no room for RUclips. I would get burnt out! On another note...Those Saucony shoes that you pulled look different than the ones you showed that sold. There was pink inside and the ones you pulled didn't look like they had pink. I could be wrong though. Again thanks for the content!
