UPDATED DIY ULTIMATE Welding Cart for CHEAP! Much Safer!

- Today's video we expand on the previous diy welding cart by making it safer to use.
In the first video we made a mobile welding cart from some angle iron and a Husky tool chest I got on sale. It has been working great minus the crap wheels that come on the tool chest.
Today I finally fabricate a safe way to hold the compressed gas bottle for the mig welder. I love to fabricate and brainstorm little projects like this.
Thank you for watching.

Looks good and will work good also. Shoulder is doing great and no pain after 2 years of 8-10 pain
Wow, you’re healing up quickly then!! So glad to hear that!!
Always good when your tools are improved for better use, well done Gary.
I completely agree!!
Great idea thanks for the video.😁😁
No problem, thanks for watching!
Clever crafting Gary! Fun to see the metal fab.
I find little projects like this fun and entertaining for me. Hope it helps someone at some point come up with some outside the box thinking.
No more tanks wobbling around. Great idea!!!
And much safer!! 😂
Great idea. It’s so nice to complete projects that make life easier
Simple ones like this I really love… have a basic plan and watch it come together.
For bottle mount, attach ratchet strap near top of tool box using washers over strap with bolt through washer. at two points Alternate mount, screw 2 eyebolts into box near top, spaced per bottle size, attack bottle with ratchet strap. Easy peasy, most secure bottle mount available. No sparking required. When one owns a spark box, everything needs sparking.
I used your first video to build my welding cart. Great design. Since my two bottles are tall and short, I used dual chains fastened in the middle and on sides. Thanks for the useful idea!
Man that’s a great idea! I hope to have a second tank at some point…. Sure sucks to run out and have to stop mid work day.
Quality Craftsman at it's finest 👌😁
Oh I don’t know about all that now 😂
Nice work!!! Your buddy Jesse James would be proud!!!!
Bhahahahaaaaaa!!!!
Good fix 👍
Thanks buddy!
Always a great idea to secure the tanks, but easy to remove. Great idea and design
Thanks brother.
Thanks Gary, cart looks really good.I still haven't started on mine.
It’s never too late to start!
Nice work. Giving me some ideas for my self.
Good! Run with the ideas!!
Good thinking on the fly. I am a mechanical engineer so I get all giddy when it comes to solving these types of issues.
Oh man, I wish I had your thinking ability! But I do love when these simple solutions come together and work so well!!
Pretty clever modification, Gary! Yeah, having one of those cylinders fall, would be a very bad day.👍
Indeed it would! I’ve seen them go through a concrete block wall before, no joke! That’s why I had those heavy duty hvac zip ties on it along with the chain. Now I don’t have to worry about it at all!
That will work my friend. Hey saw a guy towing a VW chassis down the street today without the pans but had the engine on it. really weird to see it going down the road like that. had to laugh. Hope he is restoring so its alive again
Woah that must have been a sight! Lol
Superb, very talented 😁
Nah, not talented but thanks!!
Are you for real? 17:20 minutes for 3 pieces of square bars to be welded that looks like crap.. and a lots of nonsens talk. Yeah.. it does the job with it.. but looks like crap. ULTIMATE WELDING "crap"..if you ask me. :))
@gattonpc that’s true, your video was much better…. 😂
No, this is not galvanized. Relax." LOL.
Figured I’d just get that out of the way lol
Lots of Langmiur Vortices in the sky in that opening shot (Stratified cloud formations). Just a random observation:)
Nice welding cart Gary, might even be inspired to make one...as if I didn't have enough to do...
Hmmm…. Gives me something to Google….
Thank you sir, it’s working out quite well!
@@VWJawbreakerWhat happens when I'm investigating weather modification in China while watching a Jawbreaker video!!
@@martinharris5017 woah…. Better get a tin foil hat! 😂
@@VWJawbreaker Hey, I got mine already!
@@martinharris5017 😂😂
Weld a piece of rod on the bolt head for a "T" handle.
That’ll work!
Really awesome thinking... of caging the tanks so it dont roll over and fall... if i may suggest the middle divider for possibly two tanks? u can insert a foam hose sort of like a rollcage padding to keep it more snug but even as is now? you did awesome man!!
There is a middle divider so I can put a second tank on there.
Thanks for stopping by!
@@VWJawbreaker yes i mean that exact divider? lets say if its a 1.25in square bar? you can put a foam hose thats roughly 1-1.25" ID this way it may "tighten" it snug if u may visualize the foam padding of the rollcage thats near the driver? just a suggestion it doesnt mean your work is lacking :)
we all enjoy it snug? oh sorry wrong topic 😂
@@SRDmotorsports I see what you’re saying now and that’s a good idea!
And yes, you’re right! 😂🤣
cart came out great Gary; how cool is it to weld on a welding cart with a Welder..
Haha! It’s been working out great since I made it, just needed the tank to be stored safer.
👍
Thanks my friend.
Are you hoing too glue rubber mats too the bottom and sides of the bottle stand is complete?
I don’t think so, it’s really solid the way it is.
Sweet and simple. I had to get a new bottle the other day and now my bottles don't fit on my trolley. 😩
Oh man, that’s a bummer!
Good video brother! I think you need some new gloves though lol
Hahaha, I do need to order a new pair soon!
@@VWJawbreaker for sure lol!
how did brody kill bruce in jaws? fed bruce an oxygen tank and then shot the tank
Exactly why this was necessary…. I’ve seen those tanks go through cinder block walls!
Almost the entire point of a welding cart is to secure the gas bottle, so yeah the first attempt was a total fail....just commenting for the algorithm.
I appreciate the comment. I came up with an easy solution and it’s nice and solid.
