Thank you for this. Military wife here. Husband just left. I have a kid party tonight. Toliet broke. No plumber could come out. Bought the same exact one. Easy easy. Bless you!!
Thanks for the video. I'm fairly young and have only recently got my own apartment. Toilet messed up about a week after and the maintenance guy is useless. This video helped me fix it my self with relative ease.
Great video thank you for sharing. I was able to replace that fill valve in my toilet box. Constructive suggestion: It'd be nice if you could narrate or caption the video so us laymen would know what's being done step-by-step plus what parts and tools are involved.
I had to get vaccination after watching you work! Joking aside, great and informative and that's reason hate doing toilet jobs especially at scummy people's homes!!
I'm a little late on the comment but, I was wondering if you were aware that letting the fill tube from the fill valve hang below the water line inside the tank that it will create a siphon and make the fill valve turn off and on? You'll think it's the flapper leaking but it's not.
Good Job. Everything is plastic these days. I wish they made a plastic universal valve for my Briggs 6006 toilet. I was lucky to find the parts needed to rebuild it.
I wasn't able to find Briggs parts.I ended up finding a new brass Case ballcock rebuild kit It worked out fine. I ended up also replacing the flapper valve gasket. I just could have replaced the toilet for what the parts cost, but The toilet was part of a set and the color was discontinued.
Thanks Steven. I always figured the old style "all brass" float valves would be much better quality than the plastic valves. Are the new BrassCraft valves really that good?
Brad1237202 i have no problem with these valve installed tons of them .. the brass ones are just more money.is all better maybe but more cash .. i would install this valve in my house in i needed one
Hey Steve, great vids. Question- How do you remove the cap on the Brasscraft fill valves to clean the rubber gasket? I tried the same method that they use on the 400A but it doesn't want to move and I'm not sure about putting more pressure or force on it because of all that plastic. Maybe it's brittle from being in there for the last eight years?
Hi mate how are u doing today mate see a relly good job mate keep up the good work on RUclips keep up on RUclips mate am a big fan of u on RUclips keep up there good work on RUclips form Greg
Hey steve, im wondering what coil you use for connecting the supply to the tank? I will be changing the fill valve of my toilet thanks to you and i want to also change the supply. Can you tell me what kind of hose that is?
My favorite fill valves are the old ballcock valves, you know the one with the rod, the ball and all that, with fluidmaster, Korky, and Brasscraft, the floats are not replaceable if they break, with the ball valves, they are. I can get them to fit in almost any toilet and are easy to fix.
I have the same BrasCraft sytem, but it takes forever to fill up! Like 15 minutes between flushes. How can I increase the water flow please. Otherwise it works good, just slow.. Thanks Michael.
hi steve, the city shut the water main yesterday for some sewer work. Water was eventually restored but now my toilet tank will not fill up with water. do you have any advise?
2SweetDee1 shut the valve off below tank you can remove the top of fill valve then open shutoff with hand above the fill valve and flush out the valve then reattach the top of fill valve .that should work .if not replace the toilet fill valve with a new one sometime the supply will get blocked with debree also
thanks so much i think its time for a new toilet though its a bit rusty and dirty in your tank my tank is crystal clear water ...im gonna try this out ...
+Debby GMitchel He can't talk while he's filming--THE CREEP IS FILMING WHILE REPAIRING A CUSTOMER'S TOILET! Otherwise, they would hear him talking while he's in there all by himself. I would think you could be arrested for that. By the way, he's also quite sexist.
hey dude I do appliance repair and I had a client that was having a no water in the toilet issue. So i watched your video and went over there and fixed it. Thank you for helping me by posting this video.
I had the floor fixed under my toilet. When I replaced the toilet it will not fill with water, though water flows from the little pipe into the tube (I can see it) the tank won't fill but only an inch of water. The toilet fill valve is only a couple of months old.
So my toilet Is hardly filling but if I turn shutoff valve off then on it will fill up quick nonissue until you flush then happens again what could it be?older American standard
I only replaced the top of the fill valve because I couldn't get the nut off the bottom. Today, it seems to be intermittently working??? Thanks.@@stevenlavimoniere
Change old Universal Rundle toilets and put in a Kohler or a Toto toilet, that has to much debris and calcified, you need a whole bunch of vanisol to clean out the jets! No warranty!
To reply yes I have When I want some proper into to solve an issue as with yours it' made no sense what you were doing is a waste of time to sit and try to figure out Especially when others are great at explaining which I found. Completed my project as I had simply wanted. Just saying
Debby GMitchel guys that follow me watch my videos every day . there way past basic stuff so,, maybe watch and you might learn some real plumbing work.if you can take it woman???i know your really busy super star and all.. .maybe you need to dust the house or make supper . eather way .lead follow or get out off the way. get a grip..
I needed to replace the flapper on my toilet. I turned off the water valve, replaced flapper. But when I went to turn water valve back on, NO water. What did I do wrong?
A lot of heavy breathing, not any narration explaining exactly what you are doing nor proper picture of what you are doing - filthy toilet and while I'm not ignorant, this video very difficult to understand
Thank you for this. Military wife here. Husband just left. I have a kid party tonight. Toliet broke. No plumber could come out. Bought the same exact one. Easy easy. Bless you!!

S Sam well they still have brass fill valves,, but this plastic ones are fast and quick to install

And they are cheaper than the others
+STLbluesfan1 i like this style
The end of the rubber tube the lets water go to the bowl should not be lower than the tank water level, as it will siphon the water from the tank.
Where did you butt the Brass Craft fill valve?
Good job!
I have the same BrasCraft sytem, but it takes forever to fill up! Like 15 minutes between flushes. How can I increase the water flow please. Otherwise it works good, just slow.. Thanks Michael.
Is it possible to know if it is the filler valve and not the shut off valve without draining the water from the tank?
Nice job that's the style I put in my house.
codymon100 thanks for commenting

leanorlando thanks willie
How was that "syringe" constructed? I can tell it's pvc pipe with a cap, a nipple, hose. I couldn't see the plunger. Please share.
+allbiz2k10
Just shut the valve off and flush. Hold the flapper up until the reservoir is drained.
+NightFlight1973 Yes, I am aware of that. I wanted one to use on other things beside a toilet.
thanks so much i think its time for a new toilet though its a bit rusty and dirty in your tank my tank is crystal clear water ...im gonna try this out ...
Mr Steven....where can I buy toilet pump like the one you used ? I did looking on eBay but they didn’t have
Looks like he made it from pvc pipe...I use a 2 gallon wet vac...much quicker...
what were the tools used?
Is your truck fixed

Mida Bassue thanks for watching

hey dude I do appliance repair and I had a client that was having a no water in the toilet issue. So i watched your video and went over there and fixed it. Thank you for helping me by posting this video.
i'm a little old lady who knows better than to mess with this.
how much do you think a plumber would charge for to fix this fill valve?
Na Al hi grandma
Well they charge about $70.00 just to come to your house. So figure on about $150.00
Great job Steve
Harry Dickson thanks for watching harry

happygirl It's just a braided water supply hose. You can get them at any hardware store.
What if you don't have the part how do you fix it?
So my toilet Is hardly filling but if I turn shutoff valve off then on it will fill up quick nonissue until you flush then happens again what could it be?older American standard

Mine won't fill with water and I replaced the fill valve. Any advice?

I only replaced the top of the fill valve because I couldn't get the nut off the bottom. Today, it seems to be intermittently working??? Thanks.@@stevenlavimoniere
I wish you had talked through what you were doing and why
Why do you wear gloves?
Thanks
What's with the heavy breathing?

+steven lavimoniere Maybe you should take some grammar lessons. And some lessons on what is and isn't legal regarding filming videos.
Debby GMitchel this was way to simple, if you didn't learn just by watching, then I don't know what to tell you.
It would've been a little more helpful if you explained what you were doing & why as you went...
Why not use a cleaner toilet?
will this fix a toilet that isn't filling at all? I flush and I don't hear any running water
+Joe Laliberte yes this and a new toilet water supply hose
1:56 is that you or the toilet if it's you well that's very loud
Hearing you breath like that turned me on and now I can’t concentrate on fixing the toilet!!!!
whoaa, thats uncalled for 😁
Lol ya I hear ya.
Oh so this isn't fixing the pump, just replacing it.
Change flapper with ballcock .
I needed to replace the flapper on my toilet. I turned off the water valve, replaced flapper. But when I went to turn water valve back on, NO water. What did I do wrong?
***** something with the washer in shutoff or fill valve . you will have to figure it out . by water flow .
Dear Lord Jesus Christ Almighty, what happened to that poor toilet?
That echo 😂😂😂😂
steve is that siphon pump something you made or bought? dick bailey
I can flush my toilet but it won't fill up. I have to turn the water off wait 5 sec then it will do the tank up

I flushed my toilet. Now its quiet. No water running to fill up, I here nothing at all.
MsNitchie is the water on ?
A lot of heavy breathing, not any narration explaining exactly what you are doing nor proper picture of what you are doing - filthy toilet and while I'm not ignorant, this video very difficult to understand
What a stupid place to put toilet paper
3 things.
1. Thanks! 2. Omg - that looks gross. 3. Your breathing like a night stalker had me cracking up through the vid!
????
He was probably looking at your profile picture!!!!!
