    My toilet has been doing this and I called a plumber who quoted me $250 !!!!!
    I'm a widow and on the pension, but I feel like I can do it myself now after watching this video several times.

    THANK YOU SAM! I'm home alone during COVID-19 quarantine. The idea of taking apart the new fill valve and putting it on the old set up was GENIUS! I was very nervous about creating a leak under the tank, but your method solved that. I fixed my not-filling-up problem for under $10.

    Thank you so much for posting this. I have zero plumbing experience. You just made me look like the man in front of my wife and probably saved me a few hundred dollars paying someone else to do it. My eight year old son assisted me. Now he knows what to do if he runs into a toilet that doesn’t refill. Thank you.

    This post is so helpful. As someone who isn't the best at screwing/unscrewing hoses and pipes (I have weak hands, plus I'm always cross threading), this is the easy fix I needed. And I did it all by myself thanks to you! 😁

    Thanks! U were spot on my problem was identical to this and turns out this was the problem and I had my apt fix it....lol..I told them what the problem was likely to be beforehand and took out the fill valve for them...and turned the toilet water off. The repairman was greatful! He said no one had ever removed it for him before when they had this problem. I think I made his day! :)

    Always replaced the entire unit...
    Never thought about just sliding off the valve itself.

    Thank you so much! I was worried about having to disconnect the water line and replace all of it. Thanks to this, I just switched my water lever off, pulled right up on what’s already a good connection, and reinstalled a new full valve. No tools required.

    I knew this valve system was fairly simple. But I never realized it was this basic to remove and replace! Power of RUclips to remove the anxiety of not knowing previously.

    Perfect ! Last month I replaced the entire valve which with me being 65 and fat was a long painful process getting to the fittings of the Bidet seat , the valve nut . It was terrible . Today the other toilet acted up I found your vid and got the same brand and model of valve , changed the top only and swapped the o ring from the new stand pipe while I was at at from the new unused part to the old one .
    Now perfect ! Thank you

    thanks. the video i watch before yours had me cutting off the water, unscrewing the valve from the bottom, pulling the whole thing up, and replacing with a brand new one. now i know to just release the cap, slide up the valve and slide the new one on. awesome, thanks.

    I ws already to do this alone - when my son in law watched the video - he jumped in & fixed it brilliantly! We had a rock in the hose, & kept the prior valve (for the bottom of the tank) bc it looked sturdier than the new one- but it got fixed! Thank you for simple instructions!!

    Yup, that’s exactly what the problem was with my toilet. The was fill valve was clogged. Squirted some Lime-a-way in to the holes where water shot out and used a skewer stick to break up with hard mineral deposits & lime scale. Easy fix. Thanks for the advice!

    Thanks for the video. I thought my issues was a clog, then I realized it probably was the unit itself. But I thought I would check with RUclips for a video and yours was the first one is saw. Yup it was the unit and I had no idea that you could just removed the top part off the water tube it was on. I always replaced the entire unit, which involved, of course, releasing the unit from under the tank. I got the new Fluid Master and it was done in seconds. THANKS for doing these videos for us.

    Thank you for the upload. Mine had the exact same problem to what you had. I absolutely 100% needed to replace it because it was taking a long time to refill like 5-10 minutes and it was kept on refilling to the overflow line. I replaced it and it’s good as new.
