      Forced you? Damn! 😮
So what are we talking, INVITED guests turned psyco?
Possibly due to excessive bud light consumption? Which is an?
Or you mean uninvited guests as in a violent home invasion by Chinese ninja samurais working as secret mysterious enforcers for youtube who could well have rode in on a fire eating dragon ? As is the usual case in such matters. Probably.
Hmm. Might want to be more careful who you invite over next time buddy.
And invite the second group first. That way it'll all even out and noone will be angry or force you to do things against you will! Defintely! Probably.
Idk but anyone tried to force me to do something cause of a runn8jg toilet I'd literally flush them down it right into the smelly septic tank too stay til the mutate into ninja turtles!
      LITERALLY!

Hi Leah, I'm a first-time retired female viewer living alone. I selected your video from the ones I searched for by typing "how to fix a running toilet" because your's was the shortest. I'm so glad I did. My toilet just started running earlier today and once I made the "adjustment" you demonstrate in this video, it stopped. Magic! Thank you, so much. I have already subscribed to your channel because I know you just saved me at least a $99 plumber house call fee.

Sadly, it didn't work for me. But, I think it's a different issue because jiggling handle doesn't stop it. It SOUNDS like water is running and when I turn the valve off, I don't hear the sound but I don't SEE water running either. Very odd!! I also took the cap off and cleaned it, that didn't work either. Oh well :(

Hi Leah, I want to let you know as a recently divorced woman living alone with my youngest daugther your video saved me. My toilet was running for days and then refused to flush and it was late into the night and I did not want to spend 100s of pounds I did not have to call out a plumber. Some of the videos on here were long and complicated and needed a technical fix in order to solve this issue. Your video was just right for a lone woman on her own who needed a quick fix for this issue. Thank you for getting to the point and solving the issue in under 5 minutes. I have saved your video for future reference and I am now a subscriber. Please keep up the good work for ladies like me! 😊

Reminder to viewers who are new to fixing things- The water in the tank is clean water so don’t worry about getting your hands in there, the stuff at the bottom or brownish reddish stuff is just discoloration from minerals in the water. As Leah says, you CAN do this! Be careful to put the tank cover down in a safe place so it will not get broken & you won’t accidentally trip on it. I usually set it in the bathtub while I work on the tank.

Hi Leah… You are my new favorite person! OMG .. just this weekend, I had a whole house full of guests spending Friday- Sunday at my home( they just left a few hours ago).
LITERALLY ..on Friday, only an HOUR before my house guests arrived, the toilet in my upstairs guest bathroom started running and would not flush!.
I immediately called a plumber whom I’ve used in the past who does “ jobs on the side “ hoping he would come out to help ( even though it was late Friday afternoon) no call back…
So, today, after my guests left, I found your webpage “ how to stop a running toilet in seconds” and literally , in less than 2 minutes, I just fixed my toilet!
So, now , I no longer have to anxiously wait for my plumber to call me tomorrow ( Monday) in order to schedule something this week; instead , I fixed it myself!
Saving time and money! You are awesome!
I might add that before I found your website, I tried another person’s website who had 3- 4 pages of “ steps, .. the instructions were not only onerous, but they did not make sense and did NOT work.
So, Out of frustration, I gave up and found you.. your advice was very practical in that you suggested what the most common fix was … and bingo ! My toilet is running smoothly.
I cannot thank you enough.. you are amazing .

You need an extended version of this video for people that don’t have the adjusting screw…. My 40 year old toilet just had a floating ball looking thing attached to the fill tower. Luckily the mechanics that you explained of “water level not right” gave me enough insight that I was able to intuit that I needed to bend the arm of the floating ball downwards slightly to lower the water level.
Love your channel. You helped me caulk… now this 😃. I feel like exploring your channel to find new superpowers I didn’t know I needed.

Thanks to you, I no longer debate on getting a new one, and this one works well. My water level was only about an inch low upon refill and believe it or not, that was the problem. You are VERY correct that it is only a SLIGHT adjustment! Maybe a quarter turn if that. It is now to the proper water height and works like a charm. THANKS Darlin'! I recently noticed the toilet didn’t stop running and realized the water was coming to the very top of the canister. I would like to commend, thank you, give you a hug for this adjustment. I watched a couple of other quite scary videos about how to replace everything, and purchased all the stuff. I watched your video this morning and quickly made the adjustment (My toilet had a knob to turn instead of a screw) It worked like magic!!!!! I am full of joy! (I will be 73 on Friday - you go girl!!)

Thank you sooooooo much! The jiggling of the handle wasn’t working and the dripping was slowly driving me bonkers! This simple “screw adjustment” tip did the trick!!! I greatly appreciate your knowledge and your willingness to share 💗💗💗

I had seen this video and made a mental note to try this before buying parts to fix my niece's toilet. Unfortunately, Teflon brain occurred, meaning it didn't stick, and off I went to by the parts. But when I was about to start the repairs I saw the screw and I remembered what you said (temporary Teflon brain gone). I turned the screw! It took 3 attempts at adjusting the screw and TaDa, it worked! The toilet stopped running. What my niece really needs is a whole new toilet, but thanks to you she can get some sleep without hearing the toilet run all night until this tired old one can be replaced. I am now a subscriber so I'm gona see what else you've got. Thank you so much, you're a genius! And because of you my niece thinks I'm a genius too.

Watched this video shortly after discovering your channel a few weeks ago out of curiosity while laying in bed thinking “I don’t have a broken toilet now, but I should know this”. That was a few weeks ago and today I encountered a broken toilet and thought “hey, I know how to do this now!” so I fixed it up and it was no big deal. Thank you Leah!!!!!

So glad I found this video! I just replaced the flapper to stop my toilet from running, but the next day I could still hear it running. It took several counterclockwise turns to get it to the right water level, but now no more leaking! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video.

My toilet tank wasn't filling so I checked on RUclips and watched a video that suggested the problem was either with the seal at the bottom of the tank (the flapper) or the fill valve. I happend to see your video listed under "Related" and clicked on it. I decided that, before buying new parts or, more likely, calling a plumber, I would try tightening/loosening the fill valve's adjustment screw. Guess what? It worked! You saved me at least $50 in parts or hundreds for a plumber (I know zero about plumbing)! Thank you!
