- In this video we set out to convert a 68 Mustang coupe to Fastback. Converting to a fastback is not as hard as you think. We removed old and fit new metal in a day. Tons of fun.

Glad i turned in. I didnt know that kit was available. Ill be watching
Wow! You and Trey did a great job!
Thank you. It was a lot of fun tearing up…now comes the fit and finish. It’s going to be sweet!
Nice work!
I've always liked the looks of the coupe over the fastback. I have a modern Mustang (called a coupe but looks more fastback) that I really wish looked more like an old coupe. So I think if I had an old fastback Mustang that I was restoring, I'd want to be going the other way: fastback --> coupe.
Looks like an awesome project. Cleco pins work great for clamping all of the panels together to get the fit right before welding them up. Check them out if you have never used them.
Thank you Rick! Ah thank you for the suggestion of Cleco pins! 🧷 Definitely need to put some of those to work on the next!
One of your best videos!
Thanks so much for that!
Nice Video
The time lapsed teardown was well done for explanation and demonstration without hours of noisy grinding and sawing
Well Done
Thanks

Many thanks Ken! Really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Nice job
Thanks so much!
Wow, I’m upset how good it looks. *I will not chop up my coupe, I will not chop up my coupe* Yep it’s sure is awful! Awful good looking!
I hear you! I love coupes! But this was a great candidate for the conversion. Thanks so much!
I did a 69-70 fastback and those years look harder because the door glass, rear glass, and windshield are all different from the coupe and fastback. Once your mustang goes into one color you’ll never know you frankenstanged the car, good job.
Love it! Thanks so much for that. I can imagine the variations from coupe/fastback on a 69/70 are much different. Would love to see more of what you did on that.
Never understood the fascination with fastbacks. Only a midget or kid can sit in the back seat, and only a short driver can fit in the front.
Wish I had the skills to do this cause the only 60s mustang I have a chance at affording is a coupe
If you use a plasma cuter you can burn a hole through the spot welds followed by a chisel
Ah this that is great. Must try this now! Thanks for this!!
You’re selling this conversion as a shell?! Great opportunity for someone there!
It really is. If you can find a Fastback for decent price out there it will need sheet metal due to rust. This insures rust is treat and that someone has a good platform to build their dream car.
How much wus all the new sheet metal to do that I would like to do that
how legal is it? when you change from hardtop to fastback ?
good greetings from Colombia...a question where to buy the Eleonora GT 500 body kit but in metal because I looked online and they only sell fiber
Do you have a link to the kit
Where di you buy that panels ?
How much for the shell??
when is the next video of this conversion?
I made a video on how I converted a 1968 Mustang coup to a fastback for $6k. It’s possible! ruclips.net/video/LHAEDTKOsgI/видео.html
I have published for download an illustrated parts guide for the Coupe to Fastback conversion complete with illustrations, pro tips, measurements and parts numbers. You can get it here: coupetofastback.gumroad.com/l/fjoxw
Money wise counting the cost and real time is it worth doing this and can you double your investment plus make some labor cast hey I sold my cows don't need no bull
Surinam
whats the benefit of a fastback besides cosmetics?
Hi there no cosmetics only here.
Coupes look better.
Where did you buy the panels tryna do this with a 69
