I'd love a "day in the life" video! I am always impressed that you find the time to workout in the mornings, cook in the evenings, and work more than one job in between.
I'm disabled by mental illness, and often I'm only eating frozen or packaged garbage that only makes me feel worse. A huge part of the problem is feeling anxious about making a mess and having even more responsibilities than just cooking the meal itself, which gets me feeling overwhelmed. So yeah, this video had perfect timing for me. Thanks so much, guys. :)
Sarah Acree I get the impression from your description that you are manly eating microwaved meals/snack aisle foods? I wanted to suggest that you Google some recipes that are of your taste that can be a meal for a few days in a row/frozen for later. You could prepare the food one day and store it (that way you are only "making a mess" one day of the week when you are prepping the food) and feel better knowing you aren't eating "garbage." Also, our brains need proper nutrition to optimally function and eating food that isn't of high quality makes the brain and body function at a lower than able rate. Especially when dealing with mental illness (not preaching, I am living with my own) it is important to ensure that you are feeding your brain and body the best nutritional foods so that you can operate at your best rather than compromising and giving in to the challenges and anxieties; they are what hold you back from being your healthiest self.
@@therebex23man. Imagine if there’s more of you on the internet 😢. A kind soul who’s willing to help out a stranger he never see. I pray good-luck favor you bro
I’ve used every tip, except the last one, you gave in this video and they were a GAME CHANGER for me! 🙌🏼❤️ Seriously. Like, I used to hate being in my kitchen because of the thought of cleaning up afterwards, but now I love it! I feel more confident, calm and light on my feet. My cooking even tastes better because my mood isn’t so foul. 😂😅 Anyways, if any of you haven’t implemented these tips yet then you’re missing out on some good stuff here! Thanks again Melissa!
One modification I do that I keep a warm dish pan with warm soapy water in the sink. When I'm done with using certain things while cooking, I drop them in the dish pan. Once done, I've done my pre treat. I do a quick rinse and put them in the dishwasher. And my favorite food to go out for is Lebanese. Great video, Melissa.
Great tips. Sometimes I feel like I don't want to cook, but after I think about it, what I really don't want to do is clean up a dirty kitchen after I cook. I'm going to try these great tips and see if they encourage me to cook more at home. Thanks!
I thought I was the only one. I also wash all the dishes before I cook. I hate dirty, unorganized, super cluttered kitchens...auhh the struggle is real
Seafood is my favorite!!! My mother taught me about “clean as you cook” when I was a teenager, and it works so well. I’m so fast and familiar with cleaning as I cook, that most people visiting in the kitchen are not even aware that I’m cleaning. Thank you for the video!💕
Anything my mom makes I love !! I always try to clean as I go even wash a dish or two so I can chill when my meal is ready .If you don’t have time at least soak the dishes .
Indian cuisine is my favorite but when I was pregnant I only had eyes for Thai food. Thank you for this video. My husband makes us awesome food but what a disaster every time .
I've been vegan for about 2 years now so I'm sampling all types of cuisine. I guess you could say my favorite food is FOOD! Lol. Truly appreciate your channel!
I love your channel a lot and learned a lot about cleaning because we have been doing things wrong throughout our lives and you are telling people not just about how to be clean but how to clean more effienctly and in the very right way ... I must say you are doing a great job and keep it up and thankyou for sharing the information with us
Thai is easily a favorite cuisine but ultimately I love a variety of cuisines that are quick, easy and healthy for a busy week. Hey, thanks for your tips!
If you live in a unit and don't have a compost bin. Then have a bowl/bag on hand. Put those off cut suitable soup stock e.g. onion, carrot, celery, mushroom stalks) into that bag or bowl. Add them to your stash in the freezer. Then when you have enough vegies and/or some bones left over after a roast, then make some home made stock. The space you used to store the vegie off cuts stores the stock. Then as the stock gets used, there is more space for off cuts.
I'm from New Mexico and I absolutely LOVE Spanish food. I could definitly eat it every day. In fact, we have some pinto beans and red chile on the stove right now!
Get your pitchforks ready, we cut out any cooking oil some years ago our kitchen stays so clean. Use water to salute and light steaming on mushrooms, onions and peppers, bake or air roast carrots and potatoes. So much less mess without oil, just check above your stove and you're breathing that in. Cheers love the channel and the group
Melissa, your foundation is a shade too dark: your face and neck/arms are two different colors. Migth look different in 'real life', but on camera it's very glaring
She cant really tan to match, so maybe nixxing the makeup and sport your pregnancy glow is the answer, girl!!! Flaunt it while ya got it 😊 for reallllz
Thai cusine is my favorite 😊 Thanks for the tips Melissa! I cook two to three times a day for the past 3 years and sometimes my husband would enter the kitchen while I cook and ask, "What's happening?" It can get pretty messy when I cook, I get so excited while cooking that I tend to neglect the clutter, scraps and drippings I make. So the cleaning along the way will definitely help me.
Greek is my fav. I put a serving tray on the counter when baking and put all the cups, spoons, etc on it after using them to keep the countertops cleaner.
Wow I feel so good after watching this. I follow all the process u have told. Thanks m a big fan of ur cleaning tips. Especially the decluttering videos.
I also love Thai food. It's one of my favorite things to cook. I'm a personal chef and loved your cleaning tips. Especially the splatter guard. I take one every time I cook at at client's home and I use it in my own personal kitchen. It helps to minimize splatter but it is also ensures what food you are cooking has enough air circulation and prevents it from get steamed or soggy as it would if you just used a regular lid. I hope I win your cook book, I'm a collector 😊
Italian is probably the frequently made food but I like it all. I haven't tackled Thai food yet. Honestly it's intimidating to me. Definitely have to check out the other channel too. Thanks Melissa!
I grew up on Cantonese food, but I've been cooking and eating much more Thai food because of Pai's awesome RUclips videos; because of her, Thai cuisine is quickly becoming my favourite! 😄
I love Mexican food! I eat it on average about 2-4 times a week! And it’s one of the easiest foods to cook at home! Thanks for the tips, love you girl!
Hi I'm from Pai's channel. Loved your tips, thanks! It's too hard to pick one ... omg! My fav type of food to eat out is sushi, or el salvadorian, or indian, or Ethiopian, or Thai, or vietnamese, or... the list goes on lol. I have favorite things about each of them. What an amazing world we live in that we have access to all these wonderfully different and delicious cuisines! My fave to cook is Korean and basic american. Thank you!
My mom would love you. She often said to me, I’m glad you cook but why don’t you clean up as you cook? 57 years later, still fighting this bad behaviour. The suggestion to put soap in a warm pan is golden. Can turn a pan with stuck on food into a simple wipe out, like its non-sick. Simple, cheap, environmentally sound and time saving! Thanks for the video.
My favorite?! Oh boy... Italian, seafood, yummy comforting soups, stews & chili in the winter, and refreshing salads in the summer. You can grill it anytime (even when it's snowin & blowin) and there is ALWAYS room for dessert (whether it's something good for you like a great mango, watermelon with Tajin, or a chocolate cheesecake. Mmm...
Living in a city where there are plenty food to choose from, I love all kinds of good/yummy food and it's hard to narrow down to only one favourite. I guess I love them all. Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, E Indian, and Italian are at the top of my list.
These are really great tips and I definitely do them when I am cooking as well. Thanks for sharing. As far as my favorite food it would have to be Italian but I also love Chinese food.
My favorite cuisine is in fact Thai. I found Hot Thai Kitchen videos a couple years ago, when my favorite restaurant changed the quality of food, and I was in withdrawals, so I went on a search for making my own. Probably a third of my kitchen items have come from an asian market now. But cleaning is my nemesis. I grew up in a "the cook does not clean" home, only nobody else seems to hold those values. So if they cook, I clean, if I cook, I clean. All cleaning and/or life hacks are very welcome! Subscribing now. :)
I am embarrassed to admit that I've never had Thai food. Watching your video and seeing what you were making looked delicious! Heading over to Pailin's channel now to learn more about it and as always, love, love, love your channel!
I love Indian, Thai and New Mexico cuisine. Actually I love just about anything, honestly, I just love to cook and eat! Thank you for your videos, I find them really helpful, I adore watching your interaction with your husband and I am so excited for your baby-to-be! (I have three wonderful children, I can relate to your excitement!)
Pretreating?? That looks much nicer than filling a pan with water and soap to soak. And I'm sure it works just as well!!! My new favorite tip. Thank you! Favorite cuisine? Japanese, probably. Thai is awesome as well. But trying more and more unique foods these days. My most recent find....seaweed. Sauteed! Not sure how it was prepared (Japanese restaurant) but it was amaaaazing!!!
i've been whole food plant based (vegan) for ten years and i love all cuisines. i favor spicy and flavorful so thai, indian, korean, etc are up there. but any dish i can customize to my dietary requirements (allergies and food sensitivities) is wonderful!
Thai and Mexican food are tied in my book! Thanks for the great tips! I keep my sink full of hot, soapy water to put dirty dishes in while I’m cooking.
I like as I call it internet cuisine. I find recepies online and experiment (sometimes I mix them in one). I do not like to cook the same recepie twice. I've made I guess just two recepies from Thai food by now. It's delicious and healthy but it's also unusual. I liked your tip on pre-treating. I used to fill the pan with water and add liquid soap but this way is the waste of water. I've already filled the spray bottle with mixture :) Thank you, it's simple and genius!
I have so many favorites also. I think I just more so love trying to make new foods no matter what type of cuisine. I actually just watched this because I'm about to takcle my messy kitchen and dishes now while the laundry is going! 2 things down, a million to go haha
I watched Pai's video right before seeing this and thought of CMSpace as she started to talk about cleaning. Then BOOM she mentions Melissa's videos! Fantastic collaboration! Living in Hawaii, I really don't have a favorite ethnic cuisine. I like food that tastes good.
I love a variety of foods, but Italian is probably my favorite. I've been trying to get with the cleaning as I cook. Love your videos and all the tips you have to offer!
I have one tip to keep your kitchen cleaner in the long run wile cooking. ALWAYS... YES EVERY TIME you cook on the stove run your range hood exhaust fan THE ENTIRE TIME YOU COOK ON THE STOVE TOP! why you might ask? well as we cook there is always smoke, grease and sticky residue that come off of your pots and pans in the steam that can stick to walls, ceilings and cabinets. by running your exhaust fan all of that dirty stuff in the air will get vented outside and trapped in the filter. this extends the life of your cabinets and paint on your walls, and also helps your home not to have a nasty grease smell (try it, it really helps)
I’m like you- I love a variety of cuisines, especially Thai. Italian is my heritage, but I have fondness for Japanese, Chinese, Greek, and Indian just to name a few.
Thanks for the video!! Love it!!! But I have to say I don't have a dishwasher and that makes it a little harder to get stuff cleaned up while cooking. Cuz I still have watch the stuff that's on the stove. Also I love Thai food!
I like the clean as you go tips. Also my favorite food is usually Italian because it's so cheesy. But I will say I love me some phad thai or thai curry.
Awesome. Can you show how to keep kitchen floor and rugs clean and dry while cooking and after cooking. Our rugs collect dirt so fast. Can't laundry then after every meal....so any tips?
Congrats on your pregnancy and best of luck. I love Thai food but so far only get it at some very good Thai restaurants near me. I guess giving cooking it a try could be in my future (if I'm lucky).
Dim Sum is right up there at the top spot shared with Seafood (of literally all kinds). One I was born into (grew up in Central Florida) and the other I grew to love through my travels for work to China.
I know you're not giving away anymore cook books, but had to comment to support! I LOVE anything Asian, it is always my go-to option and I'm learning to make my own kimchi!
Best keep your compost bin off cutting board, Mel. Or, dedicate a stainless bowl (easy to clean) for refuse from cooking board. Toss it into green bin when it gets full. It's also a good way to send veg cutting board waste to compost for the house. Banana skins are good for plants, as are eggshells. It's also a good way of collecting veg scraps for veg stock. You can heat water while you chop, and send bowls of cuttings over as they get higher. My fave home-cooked cuisine is delivery. Heh. Indian, actually.
My favorite cuisine is Mexican food but I mostly will try everything so far I haven't tried anything that I hate or dislike 👍 love searching new recipes each time I cook 👌
The pre-treating is an interesting tip, I'll have to try it in the dorm if I ever get my hands on a spare spray bottle. I haven't had much trouble with dishes but it might help. I'm not convinced baking soda would create abrasion though. Doesn't it dissolve in water?
Loved the video :) My favourite tips were to empty the dishwasher before starting to cook and to pretreat dirty cookwarew. We go out for Thai fairly often but I'd love to learn to cook it at home. Love all your videos. Been watching for years!
GIVEAWAY COMMENT QUESTION: Tell me what your favorite type of cuisine is for a chance to win a signed copy of Pailin's book!
Clean My Space love island cuisine. Hope all is well!
I clean while I cook. Tip: reuse the same bowl, spoon, cup. I don’t take out “new” utensils. I wash what I used and use it again
Mexican cuisine ☺
Indian vegetarian
Thai! Recently learned how easy it is to make panang curry and I crave it all the time!
I'd love a "day in the life" video! I am always impressed that you find the time to workout in the mornings, cook in the evenings, and work more than one job in between.
yes Melissa, please..
Yes!!!!

I’m so obsessive that I’m constantly wiping up the stove as I’m cooking instead of just waiting until I’m finished.
patty 8873 same thing here 😂
Me too! I do it for the dumbest reason though, when I'm taking pictures of my dish for Snapchat I want to stove to look clean 😂
Big Fudge hey whatever gives you motivation!!! Lol
I thought I was the only one. I also wash all the dishes before I cook. I hate dirty, unorganized, super cluttered kitchens...auhh the struggle is real
Thai food is definitely my favorite! I've followed both of you forever! Happy to see a collab! 💖
I’m a big fan of Mexican food! I’ve been searching for cable management videos lately, would love if u could do video specifically on that subject 😃
Seafood is my favorite!!! My mother taught me about “clean as you cook” when I was a teenager, and it works so well. I’m so fast and familiar with cleaning as I cook, that most people visiting in the kitchen are not even aware that I’m cleaning. Thank you for the video!💕
CHRISTINA WHITE I’d love to know some of the things your Mom taught you. Good job, your Mom !
Lol I thought you meant pre-treating yourself before cleaning- like drinking a glass of wine/a beer before cleaning surely makes things go easier :D
Lol
Anything my mom makes I love !!
I always try to clean as I go even wash a dish or two so I can chill when my meal is ready .If you don’t have time at least soak the dishes .
Professionally speaking we call that "clean as you go"! 😉

wonderful simple cleaning tips. my favorite cuisine is Japanese food. light and simple. Would love to try Thai recipes.
I had no idea about the splatter guard! I'm definitely buying one now. Thanks Melissa!
My favorite cuisine is in fact Thai. I found Hot Thai Kitchen videos a couple years ago, when my favorite restaurant changed the quality of food, and I was in withdrawals, so I went on a search for making my own. Indian is my favorite, followed closely by Thai. I love curries. Thank you for all the useful tips!
Thanks for sharing. The pre treating was such a wonderful idea.
Loving the collaboration! I love both your channels! Thai cuisine is my favorite that's why I watch Pai's channel!
I have one tip to keep your kitchen cleaner in the long run wile cooking. ALWAYS... It’s impossible to pick just one! Italian, Chinese and Thai are top of the list for me 🤪
Another great video
I love Thai but my husband doesn’t so I don’t go out for it often enough.
Sending you love from Melbourne, Australia.

Love Thai food. Very excited to check out her channel

I like the clean as you go tips. Also my favorite food is usually Italian because it's so cheesy. But I will say I love me some phad thai or thai curry.
I love Pai's youtube, my favorite recipe is her Thai Roasted chicken (cooked flat). Thanks Melissa and Pai for the tips!
Love your videos they give me motivation to clean. My favorite cuisine is middleastren and American fast food.
Dim Sum is right up there at the top spot shared with Seafood (of literally all kinds). One I was born into (grew up in Central Florida) and the other I grew to love through my travels for work to China.
Thx for the cool tips ! I love so many dif types of cuisines !! asian (from sushi to thal is def one of them but i also love moroccan and Italian ....
Mexican is my fave! So many ways to use the same ingredients makes it easy to cook for a week at a time.
Great tips! I like Asian food the most...Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, just all Asian foods.
Love, love, love Thai. Was blessed enough to spend a couple of weeks there one summer.
Thai Yellow Chicken Curry is my favorite comfort food. Loved your video tips.

My favorite cuisine is Mexican food but I mostly will try everything so far I haven't tried anything that I hate or dislike 👍 love searching new recipes each time I cook 👌
Omgeeee! I love both of you're channels! Thai food is my favorite!
Hi Melissa I love Thai food too especially the green Thai curry
I have been waiting my entire life for this video
