- This is my small contribution to Christmas day; I had big plans but illness got the better of me. And so, a reading, and a bit of Play acting by our 4 little mice from "The Hopalong Hollow Theater" group with Estella as "Simpkin". I put this video together in less than a day, so it's a little rough, and I hope the mouse voices don't drive you crazy.....
"The Tailor of Gloucester" is one of my favorite Beatrix Potter stories and perfect for winter.
Have a lovely Christmas. We do have a Victorian Dickens New Years meal video ( in place of the Christmas meal), coming later in the week.
P.S. Apparently, I have mispronounced Gloucester and been chastised for it. Just pretend that I am saying: Glaws-ter

Sure Beatrix, herself..would be proud and honored..if she was her. Knowing how much, her present day fan's and admirers..keep her spirt, alive. As I started collecting, some of her..little book's. Plus, 2 of yours..as well! And a piece of your, lovely designed, fabric. Made-up in 'border's', as I, a quilter too, etc., refer..to it. Loving your artworks, etc. As I made, 2 Christmas/fabric~deco card's, from it. Fusing it to some white drafting paper vs card stock. Learned in my adult~Ed, Quilt Class. Including your name, as well. Artist's deserve..their credit, I believe. Glad I looked, you up on e-Bay, besides Amz. Plan to purchase one of your lovely, mug's..from your own site. Oh. Jeri, your reading was perfect. I felt as tho I was right there in the tailor shop with those wee mice. Your actors did a wonderful job with their parts in the story. And the surprise appearance of Simpkin was just right. Your sweet soft voice was filled with the emotion of the tale and I imagined myself watching those wee mice sew the gorgeous clothes for the poor sick tailor. What a special Christmas treat! I must put the blame on my American accent,, this is good to know for a future reading.
There is an old nursery rhyme that is a good reminder…Dr Foster went to Gloucester in a shower of rain, he stepped in a puddle upto his middle and never went there again…
By the way, any word you may wish to check - just type in ‘pronunciation of . . . ‘ and it will come up on google. Hope this helps.

My heart is so full. A quiet day spent with my own needle and thread missing my brother so much it hurts and my father as well. Two gone in one year. Your magical voice, this story of hope and those threads, mice and props. So good to see them being used. All balm to my heart sweet Jeri. Be well yourself please.

This video was done on the fly, I wish I'd had a chance to really set the stage with more TWIST and fabrics.... as you know, I have a lot of it! I may re-do this skit next year.
