I wish my mom and I had done things like this together. And I really wish my daughter wanted to do things like this with me. You are both very fortunate.
I agree. I wished my mom was still here. She's been gone 31 years. We lost her at the age of 56. Thankful my sister and I enjoy our bi-weekly outings. Cherish the moments with your love ones because tomorrow is not promised. Thank you for taking us shopping. ❤
Seeing you with your mom heals my heart. My mother did her best with me but was never nurturing or took interest in things I did. That stayed the same in adulthood. Gives me joy to see you two enjoying one another’s company so sincerely.
I’m so sorry to read that and I can imagine how painful that would be. However, I’m so happy you could join us and I hope you feel like you’re right there with us 🥰
Elizabeth, you are so blessed to have your mom to go on adventures with. My mom had no interest in this kind of thing. Enjoy your time with each other!
I LOVE the lighting you're getting for your Front Doorway. I saw a sign at one of those Booths that read - "Doorbell Broken, YELL DING DONG REALLY LOUD"!!!! HaHa!!!! And yes, your mom is CUTE!!!!
This is the first time I have enjoyed touring a flea market/antique market with someone. I appreciate the fact that you lingered on interesting and nice pieces. Thank you.
You have incorporated all your wonderful finds into your lovely home! Thank you for showing us because I was sure wondering what your vision was! Fantastic!
Oh, the rabbit trails. At 14:20 you pick up a blue and white plate, and very briefly show the back of it. I see the label, though it is upside down, is Clarice Cliff, Ophelia pattern. Which leads me to look for it online, because I love blue and white, and Clarice Cliff patterns, and china plates, etc. (By the way that was a fairly uncommon pattern.) Realizing I don't have any books about Clarice Cliff patterns, I did a search for that and found a couple books and ordered those. Then I was thinking, someone should really do a movie about Clarice Cliff, her china patterns are so interesting I bet there is a story there. So I did a search on that. Sure enough, 2021, "The Colour Room." Now I'm watching the movie. Thank you for the inspiration!!
My daughter and I used to do things like this together all the time but now she and her husband work full-time and there is no time for us to go out to a state sales and have fun. It never ceases to amaze me at these flea markets and everything you see the same things. There must have been so many of some of these different items made that it's incredible. And they're still around that's what's even more incredible enjoy.
Hi Ladies, I"m also in MI. While you were looking at material and table cloths, on a hanger was some folded material called Quilt top. I sew quilts and thought I would share what that is. Someone took an old tablecloth and cut it up and added more material like in squares around the floral material. It's called piecing. They didn't finish it. When it"s the size you want, then you lay the batting under the top for warmth, then the material for the bottom part of the quilt. Actually the quilting is done by hand stitching the layers together or you take it to someone who owns a Long arm machine the sew it for you. Its fun watching the two of you explore at the show. Thanks for sharing.
I was fortunate to do some rummage saling and craft fair shopping with my Mom - I miss her so much. I am happy for both of you that you get to spend this time together!
This video was so fun! I wish we had outdoor antique festivals like this in our area. Those sconces are gorgeous and look amazing in your beautiful home, but I loved everything you purchased and that tray is so much prettier painted white.
I used to go thrifting with my mom before she passed, now I go with my daughter. I would have bought the large wooden box for $23 and the oil painting for $35.
“It’s probably too late for us to have brain damage.”😂 I love this channel and I LOVE the mom and daughter thrifting! Makes me want to call my mom up for a thrift shopping date.
First of all I’m envious that you not only have a great festival like that to go to but you have your mom! Kathy is a blast! Love when she films by the way, I think she would have me laughing all day! Also, there are too many things to list that I would have bought😂. So far though I love the lighting you picked up! Okay better get back to the cideo😂
I love all your finds!! Those lanterns are perfect for your beautiful entry foyer. I don’t think you could found anything any better!! I’m still drooling over the antique French chairs you found! If you ever decide you don’t want them, I’ll drive from Va to Michigan to buy them! LOL ❤
How I would love to go to this market!!! I have stenosis so bad now. I haven't tried anything like this , but it looks so great!! So many things!! Thank you for taking me through ❤
Those lights are amazing. They look like they were meant to be there. They finally found their home. Just so beautiful. Hi Mom:). God Bless. Thank you friend. Hugs, Rebekah

@ 29:04...the linen tablecloth were brand new just a few years ago in the fabric stores on the west Coast in California where I live with old world design and colors and several were sold on a role so you could buy several of the same kind or single of one pattern and another for say like a ladie's brunch or tea with smaller tables set up for four or smaller long ones set up for rectangle tables for six people , etc. Old ones , even though clean will always have a softer feel from washings

Such a fun trip viewing beautiful treasures of the past. Glad you got those sconces. I turned some down & I still wish I wouldn't of. My home is more cottage style but everything you picked fit so well in your home. You gave it new life, good to recycle. Would love to see your Mom's home as well, seems she has good taste like you.
I would have bought the two matching lamps at 5:08 (tall - looked like brass but probably not and had round glass about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom). Your home is beautiful. Love flea markets.
Baskets like you used to collect your lanterns in while shopping were used years ago in the 1960's and before, BUT were pulled because it was much lighter that way and easier to move😊

I love the Midland Flea. I felt it was so spread out this year though. Need to break it up into 2 days. Scored a few treasures though. 🎉
