  • The Avata has finally found its niche, with me at least. After trying numerous different tools for this, nothing does it quite as well as the Avata.

    I love my avata. It's my new favorite drone. I'm not a professional looking to get cinema quality footage. I'm just a dude who loves flying drones.

    The Avata is definitely awesome! Great chase footage 🤯

      Thanks man! I just wish I had something that could chase your goblin at 2 million mph 🤣

    It's the artist, not the brush.
    If you cant create beautiful footage with the Avata, you're just not creative enough.
    This was excellent. Who cares if it cant compared to custom built drones for free fly tricks.
    Every drone isnt built for the same purpose.

    This is exactly why I got my avata , I’m in an rc model flying club and I love photography and my avata is the best thing I’ve found for following rc planes by far

    I just got into flying the Avata this year, and I feel like this video was aimed at me. Because long before i put on a headset, I was a disc golfer. Ultimately, I want to get good enough to chase peoples shots. The distance competitions that are posted online use an FPV quadcopter to chase the shots. The pros throw shots into the 70s and 80s, but most mortals would release the disc around 40 - 50 mph. I also have the potato, which certainly has the acceleration to handle that, but the Avata is the better choice for portability and durability.

      I absolutely love the portability of the Avata, and I should've included that in this video! Chasing disc golf shots sounds epic though, I'll have to take a look at that footage!!

    I'm in the same boat as you. I've got my Betaflight builds and use them all the time but sometimes the versatility of the Avata (or the Potato for that matter) make it such a pleasure to use. I'm about to do the upgrade to 3.5" props (Axisflying kit) mostly to change the sound the aircraft makes. Have you considered that mod at all?

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  4 месяца назад

      Yea I am interested in that for sure! Just haven’t really had the time or the specific use case to motivate me. I wonder what kind of flight time you’ll get after the mod?

    You use a GoPro mounted on the Avata?

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  4 месяца назад +2

      I just use the O3 in the Avata. It CAN carry a gopro and I have used one before, but it doesn't fly well with it. You don't really need one for most situations!

  • @YosepAliSaputra

    Avata is good, very good product, but that's not for me😅
    simple reason, i like to fly to the top of mountains over 500m altitude and do long range flight.
    But Avata still very good product, i use Dji O3 too and Goggles 2.. DJI have very good product btw 🤙🏽

    I have it and I don’t like it 😅… some wind and you cannot fly… and the worst part is how noisy it is

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  4 месяца назад +6

      Haha, well I won’t argue either of those points. But I will say if there’s wind, flying a plane isn’t much fun either!

    • @mattalford3932
      @mattalford3932 4 месяца назад

      It's really not that noisy. I live in a mobile home, and I flew it right next to my windows, and nobody inside heard it. It sounds like a ciniwhoop. You should hear my 6s racing quad lol.

    • @DanielBarrios83
      @DanielBarrios83 4 месяца назад

      @@mattalford3932 i think it’s the pitch… 5” 6S and of course it performs way better… y also have a 3,5” 4s and same story… it’s not that loud… actually I have 7 quads and that’s one of the reasons why I don’t fly the avata

  • @markbebawi
    @markbebawi 3 месяца назад

    I use mine quite a lot. The video quality is great for flying but falls a little short in lower lit situations (indoor real estate). Maybe the new version will fix that 🤞

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  3 месяца назад +1

      Yea it’s not the best for that, GoPro is still king in that space for now!

    • @markbebawi
      @markbebawi 3 месяца назад

      @@propabilityfpv indeed...but I'm hoping version 2 has a camera/sensor that removes any need to mount a second camera 🤞

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  3 месяца назад +1

      That would be a game changer!

  • @kurtzFPV
    @kurtzFPV 4 месяца назад

    Wouldn't all these same points apply to the potato? I dont even think the video quality is that bad, but it would be nice if it had the gyro data available. But it can also easily carry a mini 11 if you need better quality. I've never flown the avata but it seems like the potato would be superior in every way except flying indoors.

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  4 месяца назад

      If you're looking for higher speed, then yea the FPV would be better. But that being said, the Avata can still go 50+, more than enough for a lot of chase footage needs. Also the camera is quite a bit better on the Avata, as is the transmission quality. It's also much lighter, more agile, and can also be used indoors which in my opinion makes it more versatile all around. If you're looking for max picture quality for something somewhat close range, then obviously a cinewhoop with a dedicated action cam is going to be a better option than either DJI product. But if you just want bang for your buck and great all around performance, I'd choose the Avata!

    I do love my Avata, but I did get extremely annoyed when I wanted to show it off to my brother and do some flips. I sadly found out my Avata with a previous freaking updated defaulted all my Manual Fun settings and didn't realize it till after not just turning the manual mode on, but flying it and it was maneuvering like a pig. making very sloppy turns and the power was weak as shit. I sent off for a replacement I will receive today. I plan to call DJI and ask also, "Why is the power weaker than it use to be, also, in manual mode fun I can no longer get it to fly at 60mph. It's pretty much a little over 40mph. Seriously, WTF?

    • @propabilityfpv
      @propabilityfpv  3 месяца назад

      Hmm that’s strange, and super annoying! Luckily mine hasn’t done that

    If you fly the avata the way it was intended, it's a great drone. If you try doing acro and flying it in ways it wasn't intended, then it's not a great drone.
