    There should only be a total of two flexi brake hoses at the rear, not three.
    Both rear flexi hoses connect to a hard line going to the brass union.
    Won't cause any harm leaving it as is though.

    That leftover line you have is for the brass T to the drivers rear - it shouldn't have two consecutive rubber hoses. Noticed that car has a 65 only horn button, and there is no way a ball joint beam will physically fit on a kingpin chassis ( unless they changed the frame head). I say that it's a 66.

    • @CTmoog
      @CTmoog  20 дней назад

    If that reservoir doesn’t have a flared end you should flare it or at least clamp on the rubber so you don’t have fluid leaking
    I also believe you are supposed to slide the master cylinder rubber onto the line all the way down to the end then press it in but the way you done it might work
    great work look forward to seeing it drive down the road

    The beetle is a 65/66 model. The 1964 was the last of the "T" handle on the decklid, King Pins, upright quarter glass and also the smaller windows. Your beam looks right for the year (Link as opposed to King Pin) but the securing nuts may have been replaced with a allen key nut from a later model. Common modification and actually better in my view!
    Great build, keep up the good work!

  • @PetriHangas
    @PetriHangas 18 дней назад +1

    Only mistake I noticed was drivers side back brake hose install at around 23 min. You have 2 soft lines installed. It should be hard line from t-junction to brake hose holder and not second flex line. From holder in frame to to second holder in axle tube soft line and from there to wheel cylinder hard line again, like in passenger side.
    Also think that the car is not -64. 64 should have still smaller windows/thicker window posts. I think it's -66. This can be verified from VIN. if it's -64 it starts with 9 and is shorter than after -65. In 1965 VIN changed, then it will start with 115... third number indicates year model. 116 would be -66, 117 -67 and so on.

    • @CTmoog
      @CTmoog  18 дней назад +1

      I just went out and checked. You are correct. It starts with 115. Not sure why I thought it was a 64...it is a 65.

      @@CTmoog Nice. The ball joint front beam came in 1966. So someone has changed the frame head. Because the torsion tubes are in different positions in King Pin axle and ball joint axle. They cannot be swiched unless you replace the the frame head.

    • @CTmoog
      @CTmoog  20 дней назад +1

      The front bearings get packed with grease. The rear bearings get gear oil from the transmission. It travels down the axle and lubes the rear wheel bearings. I put a small amount of oil on them when I was reassembling so they have a little bit the get started. When I fill the transmission with gear oil to the correct level it will travel down the axle tubes to the bearings.
