You should be asking what kind of shrimp do you like.
Dry eyes are not possible when Forrest asks “is he smart…?”
I have seen many reactions to this movie and very few reactors get the underlying meaning of this question, Forrest is very aware that he is "slow" and abhors the thought that his son would go through the same hardships he did. This scene gets me the most.
Exactly, it’s not scientifically demonstrated to be possible to watch without crying
Right before that as well: "He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
Yes, they are.
@@RomeroJlleAnd all through his life, Forrest acts like it doesn't bother him. Then you find out that it did all along, he just never showed it.
On one hand I get everyone’s frustration with Jenny treating Forrest the way she did, and there’s no excuse for it, but at the same time it’s the kind of behavior that comes from being abused and mistreated all her life. She wasn’t leaving him, she was continually pushing him away because she didn’t think she deserved someone as good as him and didn’t want to drag him down with her, and she was dating toxic men because that’s all she knew. It comes from a place of damage and toxicity. She mistreated him but it was not malicious
This sums it up so well. She says "you don't want to marry me", and she isn't leaving Forrest to hurt him, but because she doesn't think she's good for him, and she doesn't deserve him. It saddens me that so many people don't understand that at all. Like you said, she's not being malicious, she really cares for him. Abuse and PTSD affect people their whole lives
Yeah a lot of people wilfully misinterpret her actions as just using him, conveniently skipping past the (sexual) abuse she suffered from during her formative years and the absolute hell that plays on someone's self-worth and idea of what a relationship looks like.
@@VerowakReacts One thing a lot of people miss is that last time leaving him, she says she's not running...Forrest explained it himself a few minutes later in film time..."Sometimes you got to put the past behind you before you can move on."
Also her not telling forrest, at least for the first few Years with Forrest jr... he was running,
She's the Villain!!!
Gary Sinise who plays Lt Dan was changed by the role. He went on to found one of the biggest Veterans charities, building handicapped accessible homes for amputee and other wounded vets, hosting camps for kids of vets and first responders who were killed and many other programs. He also performs with his Lt Dan band for the USO at US bases overseas and at home.
He seems like a genuinely good person.
Hard To Believe It's Been 30 Years Since This Movie Came Out,Time Goes By
The way Hanks nails the "Is he smart..or" moment is simply stellar. Showcasing that he's certainly self-aware (about his smarts), fear, doubt, caring and love all at the same time. I cannot watch that scene without crying. Excellent writing, but even better acting.
'That's not his density though?' 🤣 I was in stitches when you channelled George McFly.
You have no idea how happy it makes me that you and a few others picked up on it!!!! 🥰☺️
@@LtDan-rk4si 🤗🍫🙏🎥
The most heartbreaking thing in cinema history is Forrest meeting his son. It's the first time in his entire life that he saw his low IQ as a disability and was terrified that he'd passed it off on another person. And poor Jenny. Her sexual abuse as a child messed her up for years and caused her to go from one abusive man to the next. That happens so often in real life. Thank God Forrest rescued her one last time.
Jennie never loved him! She's spent her entire life putting him in the "FriendZone" Jennie contacted him because she could use him as a Simp & Beta Male Provider. Jennie is so promiscuous I doubt that's his son!!!
Are you sure that's his son? Momma's Baby, Daddies May Be!
Are you suggesting that he wasn’t aware of his intellectual impairment all along? He knew he had a mental disability the whole time, and that his life was harder for it, but he knew it didn’t mean he was lesser or that others were inherently better. “Stupid is as stupid does”, after all.
@@TukaihaHithlec Reading comprehension. Get some. I said it's the first time he saw it as a disability.
Tom Hanks won his second straight Academy Award for his performance as Forrest Gump.
Rightfully deserved, he was so amazing!
Right after winning it for his role in Philadelphia
And Tom Hanks should have won a third time, for "Saving Private Ryan". I'll never understand how "Shakespeare In Love" topped SPR. 🤔🥱
@@ronp1903 I agree. I don’t know that story for sure, but I have heard a suggestion of show business politics played a part.
@@nickperkins8477Indeed! Look where Hollywood is now! 🙄
A League of Their Own is another Tom Hanks must-watch, but, unlike Forrest Gump, crying is not allowed.
Because there's no crying in Baseball.
The kid who plays Forrest Gump, Jr. is Haley Joel Osment. Five years later, he played the child Cole Seer in the film The Sixth Sense.
I see people. They write amazing or act amazing in films in in. I see Oscar people. They don't know they have won the Oscar.
Topher ;)
Yes. She says that in this very video...
"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it." -Bubba
Shrimp-o-sea! BBQ 'em, boil 'em, stick 'em in a stew!
Bubba was a "shrimp expert", hands down. Lol.
When Forrest asks if the kid is "Smart or like .... " pointing himself always gets me, Tom Hanks's performance is outstanding.
Deserves all the awards just for that one line delivery!
The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company became an actual restaurant.
yea, I seen my first one around 2002 while visiting NYC
@@pleutron I saw my first one in New Orleans in 2003.
One in London too.
We should all strive to channel some of Forrest's sweet simple wisdom in life. Like you Verowak, I cried at Forrest's revelation of fatherhood. It just tears you up.
I love the line “I’m not a smart man. But, I know what love is.”
He is a man of few words, but they mean so much
@@VerowakReacts exactly.
Forrest did know what love is. But Jennie never did!
That's why I love this movie. They make jokes about Forrest's intelligence, but they don't make fun of him. He has so much dignity.
I love it too... The thing is that Jenny doesn't know what love is...
Gary Siniese was so inspired by his part and this story that he started the Gary Siniese Charities for military and 1st responders. He does concerts & scholarships for children of the wounded and dead, help with getting home health aids like handicapped cars and electric wheelchairs and standers, etc! Handicapped home appliances and even homes! He's an amazing person! 💖
And I absolutely LOVE how they melded in the real, actual old time TV news clips in with Forrest! That was some fantastic editing! 👍
Yes, like you said, Forrest just went with whatever opportunity was presented to him and responded with a simple "ok." He went to each new venture & adventure with an open mind and pure heart - and went wherever the wind took him . . . . just like that feather.
For me, Tom Hanks ist one of the best "character" actors of all times. He is outstanding in everything.
I can't imagine him not being good in a role
Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel Washington are all great actors. I have never seen them have a bad performance ever.
I started teaching just before this movie came out and we used it in our middle school & high school to introduce U.S. History to the students. I love this movie!
What a fun way to introduce history to students! That would have made the class much better for them
Forrest Gump is a story about how ordinary people can do extraordinary things just by living their lives with love, compassion & caring.
Forrest isn’t born into a rich or influential & powerful family. He is an illegitimate child of a single working mother & he has physical & intellectual impairments yet he does amazing things. He accomplishes so much because he is free of hatred, greed, jealousy & prejudice. Those are the things that hold us back & we need to let them go in order to live our best lives.
Jenny shows us how pain & self loathing hurts us & those we love. She had a twisted view of love because of her father but once she had her child she finally experienced pure love & was able to give & receive it.
Despite being less preferable, his success also stems from plenty of good luck. The takeaway is that opportunity is incredibly important. Violet Evergarden does the same thing.
Gary Sinise created, and plays bass in, the Lt. Dan Band. They entertain troops and, through the Gary Sinise Foundation, raise money to build homes for veterans.
Bearded running Forest was played by Tom Hanks's brother who was a real long distance runner
Really? Huh, I never would have guessed :D
I thought his legs looked a little bit bigger and stronger. Cool.
Forrest might not know exactly why Jenny is throwing the rocks at her house, but he knows she is in pain. And, he knows she had trouble there from when they were children together.
Yeah and seeing her in pain is enough for him to want to get rid of it.
@@VerowakReacts yes.
My mom looked exactly like Sally Field when we were kids and were convinced she had a secret movie career, I sincerely cried when she died. And that's all I have to say about that...Tom Hanks is absolutely brilliant, even when playing a local idiot. When LT. Dan comes with his magic legs made from the same as the space shuttle...the next year they were in Apollo 13th together! One of most clever, hilarious, heartfelt films ever.
I love that you were convinced she had a secret movie career!! It's always devastating when a loved one dies 💙
@@VerowakReacts I was like 9 so yeah a little suspicious of the World. What's ironic is when she was in Mrs. Doubtfire my parents divorced. That hit hard again. Damn it Sally.
"When LT. Dan comes with his magic legs..." Also you might wonder why Lt. Dan is standing during the wedding, but I hear that the wedding planners had just enough chairs setup IF Lt. Dan had his wheelchair who wouldn't need a chair, hence the count was wrong.
So many well placed Easter eggs throughout. Where Jenny drops to the ground after throwing rocks at the house, the couple of seconds in that pose is direct homage to Andrew Wyeth’s famous painting of Christina’s World.
She wasn't running....she was rehabbing!
(V)ictor (C)harlie was the phonetic shorthand for for Viet Cong, without actually saying Viet Cong, Victor Charlie was then shortend again to simply Charlie.
Winner of 6 Oscars including Best Picture.
The same year as Pulp Fiction and Shawshank
I hear it was a year with amazing movies up against each other!
Forrest never changed at all. He remained consistent as a person, neither growing nor fading. Unconditional love for everyone in his life.
Jenny and Lt. Dan were both in the abyss of despair and self-contempt. Their growth/salvation took years, and Forrest was the catalyst.
Forrest was so good to so many people! Improving their lives and just being a positive light in them
Albeit for the wrong reasons, Jenny gave Forrest crucial advice in exchange, which is to run when times are tough, inadvertently setting up his 'angelic' journey. It's accurate then to say that Forrest brings out the best in everyone when they're around him.
@@VerowakReacts Actually Forrest Gump wasn't a real person albeit he may have been inspired by veteran Sammy Lee Lewis who's Vietnam War story is very similiar to that of Gump's. 🤔🤗🪖🙏
"The day you become a shrimp boat captain, I will be your first mate. The day you become a shrimp boat captain is the day I become an astronaut!"
... Shows up at the end of the movie with prosthetics made of Titanium Alloy as used on the space shuttle. Close enough.
Magic Legs ❤
Tom Hanks modeled his accent and pattern of speech after the kid who was playing young Forrest.
Here's Hanks explaining that:

Artistically, what a loss it would have been without that change:
ruclips.net/video/sII9sBG94mk/видео.html
This was loosely adapted from the novel of the same name, though changes were made to the titular character. Other notable roles with Tom Hanks include Big, Bachelor Party, The Man with One Red Shoe, Dragnet, Philadelphia and the Toy Story film franchise. Forrest's mom is played by Sally Field and Elvis Presley is portrayed by Kurt Russell. This has the same director as the Back To the Future trilogy and Beowulf. Bubba Gump Shrimp became a real seafood franchise and the actor playing LT Dan started a band to help support military veterans
True. Just read the novel, and in it Forrest Gump is more of a savant than what this movie depicts.
Tom's accent was his imitation of the boy who played him.
Tom hanks definitely has come a long way since the days that I use to watch him on his old tv series bosom buddies. He's a great actor.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get... if you don't read the contents of the box.
FYI, when Forrest's micropohone was turned off at the anti-war demonstration what he said was "In Vietnam (mic off) *Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing* (mic on again) That's all I have to say about that."
The incident in Viet Nam where a soldier carried half his squad out of an ambush one by one, and was himself wounded in the process was a true story. I specifically remember reading it in the paper back in 1965 or 66 when I was in the fifth grade.
I rarely if ever cry at movies. In fact I often think it’s odd how quickly people will lose it over fiction. But Forrest Gump gets me choked up at several moments every. single. time.
The movie opens and ends with a feather blowing on the breeze.
That feather is a metaphor for Forrest's life as he is blown from significant event to event to event, no control, no steering, just like that feather on the breeze.
Sally Field has played "America's Sweetheart" roles, tough roles, dramatic roles and comedic roles, but this performance is special in a way that is not possible in other movie narratives. What great writing, what a great delivery!
How many actors get to play someone's mom and in another movie his love interest?
It’s a known fact: Bus drivers never age. It’s a coveted profession that we’d all be lucky to spend 150 years doing!
My favorite shot is Lt. Dan being lifted out of bed with his legs digitally removed and the folds in the sheets carefully animated. Amazing.
I went back to look at this, and oh my did they ever do a fantastic job!
There are many in the ASD community that speculate Forrest could be autistic. He is certainly a character who has endured many of the struggles and social stigmas that autistic individuals face, even though autism is not specifically identified in the movie. I'm sure other neurotypes and disability types can also identify with those aspects of the character as well, that is part of what makes Forrest so relatable to many.
I thought that was assumed since it came out.
When they were in the tree as kids, and Forrest says "Jenny never wanted to leave and go home" That was a good tip off of bad things going on there.
Jenny advises Forrest to run away. That is how she lives her life, running away from everything...
3 Years, 2 months,14 days and 16 hours............The amount of time for Forrest to get over the heartbreak that Jenny put him through. T-T Poor Forrest
Tom Hanks can do things somehow. He looks like ordinary man and does nothing, but you smile, you cry, you smile and cry simultaneously.
Did you say “his density”?? OMG I ❤ U
YES!! I didn't know if anyone would catch it 😊😂
'That's not his density, though.' By George, she's channeling someone!
Road to Perdition is one Tom Hanks movie you shouldn't miss out on. It shows a very different acting than we're used to.
I cried right along with you during the scene with Forrest asking Jenny if their son is smart....and I've seen this at least 20 times. That is some of the most powerful acting I have ever seen. Great reactions! 😊
Thank you! I think Tom Hanks in the "is he smart?" scene is my favourite bit of acting ever.
Elvis’ dance moves were actually inspired by the bass singer of the Statesmen Quartet James ‘Big Chief’ Wetherington because Elvis was nervous when performing in front of large crowds.
The movie is full of totally remote improbabilities, with Forrest being both present for and influencing major events in US history. But that's a part of the appeal. He has no idea he did such things, he simply remains true to himself, and his innate goodness makes him one of the most lovable characters in movie history. His steadfast love for Jenny eventually leads to her own redemption and the child they share becomes Forrest's complete focus after he loses her.
I really loved this reaction :) I saw this when it was new and was blown away by how good it was. Gary Sinise wasn't as famous then as he is now, but very popular afterwards I saw him in quite a few things, I remember thinking "Wow he's so good. You'd never know he doesn't have any legs..." 🤦
I'm so glad to hear! And yes, Gary Sinise was very convincing, and did an amazing job as Lt. Dan!
Same exact thought!
This movie has a 100% success rate at making me cry
😭
Loved your reaction to this amazing movie! Forrest is such a unique character. Unlike traditional characters he basically never changes and just flows trough life just like the feather in the beginning and the ending scenes (something most people do not consider inspiring or productive). Yet that is what makes him amazing because even though he is kind of directionless and never changes the people around him ARE changed for the better and inspired by him. In most movies the main character has a character development but in this movie all the characters except the main one have an arc and development and the main character is like a never changing constant.
I'm glad to hear you loved it!! This story really is different, and I love the way you explained it. He has affected so many people and helped so many people without even knowing or trying. He's just so good for everyone
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a real restaurant chain, named after the movie.
There was a Facebook post with a picture of the top "Unreliable Narrators" and Forest Gump was on the photo. I never thought about Forest being an unreliable narrator until then. I haven't spent the time to think that one through and how it would change the story. I wonder how much of the film would look different if we saw the story straight. Another note - it's hard to say the impact of this film - it could have been made in 1940 or 2023 - it would still be one of the best of all time. (You said "Density" - lol)
Hey Verowak
A few minutes ago RUclips randomly recommended I check out this video. While it’s true that lots of RUclipsrs have reacted to Forrest Gump, it seems that you catch more of the subtext and humor than anyone else.
Thank you, the humour in this movie is right up my alley, it was done so well!!
In the book Jenny dies of Hepatitis but in the movie suggests she catches HIV/AIDS because of the time period with her drug use & sleeping around. Her grave says 1982 (during the AIDS pandemic)
I saw this in the theater and, basically, left with tears in my eyes at the end. I said it was the best movie ever. I truly enjoy watching your reactions, because they're so honest and I feel that you'd be a great friend with whom to watch movies. There is always such humanity in your expressions and chuckles, and it really strikes me as so genuine and kind. Your comments seem like somebody sitting next to me rather than on a monitor. That is a unique skill and is appreciated. Thank you for sharing this film with us, it allowed me to relive a wonderful moment in my life.
This is one of those comments that highlights the frustration that comes from being limited to just one thumbs up.
@@theironherder Apparently, you were able to see my soul in my words. Thank you for perceptive comment.
I’d love to see more reactions to Hanks’s directorial work: “That Thing You Do,” which I absolutely love, and “Larry Crowne,” which is thoroughly enjoyable.
we watched a lot of movies as young adults.. this movie was the only one that made me tear up.. and that is all I have to say 'bout that
Great reaction, I remember seeing it with my parents. The soundtrack was one of those double cd cases, it introduced me to the Doors and a bunch of other classic bands.
The Astronaut graphics was elite. I love how he's basically the anti- Will Hunting. Not book smart, but the life experience that is unmatched.
I'm glad you liked it!! 😁. Also, I never thought of him as the opposite of Will Hunting, but he absolutely is!! Nice one
Wonderful! I enjoyed rewatching this one with you. Thank you for sharing it! 🙂
You are quite welcome, and it was my pleasure!!
I was looking through the cast, and was sad to see that Nora Dunfee, the actress playing the kind old lady talking with Forrest on the bench, passed away the same year that the film came out. I like to think that she at least saw how successful it was before she passed.
Thank you so much for the ridealong in your journey through the life of Forrest Gump. To share in your spontaneous emotional reactions as you view a film such as this for the first time greatly enhances my appreciation of it. You have made my day, and again, thank you.
To anyone who enjoys Forrest Gump, I recommend an animated series that took a lot of inspiration from it, Violet Evergarden.
It shares the themes of a child being born with a mental disorder, growing up with physical disabilities, meeting someone who cares about them like no one else before, working hard and making the most of lucky opportunities with respect and sincerity, finding fame and fortune that they didn’t seek out yet remain humble, and knowing that they’re different without excessive attention being focused on it.
It even shares the titular character being unexpectedly adept in a military setting, and an object being carried around by the wind at the beginning and end.
Very good edit...would give it an excellent but you left out a favorite quote that explains the opening and closing feather..."I don't know if we each have a destiny or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze...Maybe it's both."
A bit of trivia I have never seen anybody else pick up on - not even the film makers - is that in the time Forrest attended Alabama with the George Wallace/National Guard confrontation - the quarterback of that football team would have been none other than 'Broadway Joe' Namath. What a storyline opportunity, if somehow, like Elvis, Gump had also been instrumental in helping Joe's career. Oh well, the one that got away.
You did a great job with this! So many people have reacted to this movie that it’s hard to stand out but you did and so I look forward to viewing a bunch more of your content! 🙂💯
Love your reaction. This is one of my top 3 movies of all time, with Shawshank Redemption, and When Harry Met Sally rounding out the top 3.
All 3 movies invoke every possible human emotion, then leaves you with hope, and good cheer at the end.
Switch When Harry Met Sally with You've Got Mail and that's my list. Like peas and carrots.
The thing many people dont notice is that Forrest doesnt do anything that he thinks of - except eventually marry Jenny (and even then she asks him). Everything he does is because someone else told him to do it or guided him in that direction. The other characters are different - or are they? But Jenny is - everything she does, she does because she's trying NOT to do what anyone guided her or told her to do.
Gary Sinese started a band called the Lt Dan Band. They play gigs to raise money for disabled vets.
He seems like a great person 🥰
One of my favourite Tom Hanks movies that doesn't get a lot of attention is 'That Thing You Do!" (1996). He was not the main character, but he wrote and directed the movie as well as contributed to the original music.
Thanks for that, I had no idea he wrote movies! I knew he directed but thought it started later!
Tom Hanks use to be a comedian in the 80s, then he became an epic dramatic actor in the 90s.
His most famous movie from the 80s is “Big.” I would highly recommend that one 🙂❤️
Thank you for the recommendation!! It's been suggested so many times I'll have to check him out as a comedy actor
@@VerowakReacts Splash is the movie that started his career, it was a mermaid movie. Daryl Hannah plays the mermaid. I would highly recommend that one as well

The actors that played Forrest and Lt. Dan were also in The Green Mile and Apollo 13. I am not aware if they were in any other movies together but 3 is a LOT! 👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Not really. Producers and directors cast actors they like to work with so they end up in movies together a fair bit. Look at how many movies have Will Ferrell or John C Reilly, or Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (12 movies), or Hanks and Meg Ryan, or Adam Sandler and his crew, with Drew Barrymore.
@@dnish6673 ANY 2 actors/Actresses that are in 2 or 3 movies or more TOGETHER is still significant! Your mention of Owen Wilson is coincidence as he was in 2 movies with Jackie Chan. And Jackie Chan was in 3 movies with Chris Tucker! The list keeps going on & on & on & on ....... 👍👍😉😉👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Tom Hanks is an extremely unique actor of his generation. He came up doing comedies...Splash, Bachelor Party, Money Pit, BIg, Turner & Hooch, etc... and then, in his late 30's, was able to turn into one of the most heralded dramatic actors of the time. Very few actors are able to accomplish that feat.
I remember first seeing him in the Bosom Buddies sitcom in 1980. He was such a goofball. A talented comedian.
Ms. V, I enjoy your review of these movies. I can't put my finger on it, but you put me at ease in your videos. Best wishes in all you do.
I'm happy that I can put you at ease! It's a joy to know that I do that 🥰
Forest Gump had so many stories with no happy endings 😢
Forest Gump, Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption were all up for the same Best Picture Oscar. Talk about a great year for film.
You’re a truly delightful reaction person… lots of love from NM ❤
I always check the comments on forrest gump reactions before watching the video- if i see people having to explain Jennys ptsd then i know its not worth watching. You understood very well❤
The impact of this movie even touched future Presidential Campaigns. Forrest Grump for President bumper stickers are still remembered. This is one of the most heart-warming movies of all time, pure Americana.
34:24 I cried with you when Forrest realized he was a dad.
Tom Hanks in that scene is absolute perfection 😭
If you look it as a history of the USA from 1940's to 90's, it is quite a horror show for Jenny and women in general. The movie has a focus on the Forrest for a reason.
I’ve seen this countless times, and I still get tears when Forrest asks if his son is smart or…
Dan tells Forrest in the bar, u become a captain and I'm an astronaut! Later when he's walking, he tells Forrest his legs are made of Space Shuttle material! Then they both star in Apollo 13!!! Type in here Forrest Gump speech!! Irony... Kurt Russell met Elvis as a kid, then did a movie with him a few years later, then did John Carpenter first TV movie about Elvis, then played Elvis a couple times like in 3000 miles to Graceland, then does Elvis voice, here! Pro tip...the kid, grew up, joined the military, and was in some hardcore units!
Some things (thoughts) to this movie:
The speech he was preforming at the capitol was:
"Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don’t go home at all. That’s a bad thing. That’s all I have to say about that."
Lt. Dean have fulfilled both of his promises. He became at first Forest's first mate and then he became kind of an astronaut, as he got his new legs from the same material as the space shuttle.
When Forest was in the TV with John Lennon, Lennon was saying some parts of his (later written) song "Imagine".
I forgot:
Gary "Sinise is a supporter of various veterans' organizations, both personally and through the Lt. Dan Band. He frequently performs on USO tours at military bases around the world, and volunteered for the National Vietnam Veterans Arts Museum now called the National Veterans Art Museum."
This is a great movie. I love it.
The man in the hounds tooth hat on the football field that Forrest runs through is depicting the great coach Bear Bryant who elevated college football to the level that it is now. Alabama has had some of the greatest college football coaches and players and it began with Bryant. And yes, back then young men were given scholarships to play football and their classes were worked around them because popular football teams brought so much money into the college.
Forrest's accent came around because of the kid Forrest actor. He would had a hard g to the end of words so Tom Hanks worked it into Adult Forest's accent.
I bet this Masterpeice would have been requested for a long time!
It has yeah 😁
Great reaction! From Elvis to AIDS (or Hep C in the book) Forrest Gump is the story of an entire generation; the historical touchstones, the music, the traumas, and the philosophical questions we wrestled with. I always enjoy watching someone react to this movie to see which historical figures and events are recognized and which aren't. I have heard that some American History courses use this film to cover the period which makes me happy.
As a non US citizen, I probably missed a lot of American historical references lol
@@VerowakReacts I thought you did very well, especially so for a non-American citizen!
I break every time Forrest asks "Is he smart." The only time in the movie you get a hint of the effect people's treatment of him had on him.
