Your videos are just fine with the lengths you’ve been making them. We watch them to the end, whether short or long.
Also, keep the commentary just the way you’ve been doing it since the beginning.
Your knowledge and sense of humor are what keeps us coming back!

Don’t change for others. You have a unique way of entertaining those that watch each week. Your “commercial” describing the Moose hoody had me rolling. You have a way with words that is so fun. Stay who you are and talk as long as you wish!

The beam and ridge cap really adds to the look. Looks great Patrick. 20 minutes +/- is right. I like your commentary and light hearted banter. Even the occasional lunch and mule deer scenes. Keep it up.

I've been enjoying your videos at the 30-40 minute length. They have an ASMR quality, but are still informative. Also, your general positivity means that I have enough time to sit and enjoy the video and not feel rushed or that I need to squeeze in the time. I really enjoy your weekly updates. Also,... unrelated. How do you never seem to miss a cut. I'm impressed with how accurately your cuts seem to fit.

Hi, Patrick! The ceiling is really nice with this oil. 😊 And about the videos, I don't think your videos are long. Your personality and how you present everything as if we were there with you, helping you with all tasks, make a difference. The time for the video depends on the activity you are doing on it. Some activities need more time and some need less time. So, in my opinion, you should continue doing the videos as you are doing now. The main thing is to continue be yourself. 🤩 You know you are the man!

Houston here, my apologies for the absence and late response. I really like how subtle the tung oil looks. I was a bit surprised that it makes the darker parts of the wood really stand out, but the lighter parts seem to stay about the same.
I like the length of the videos you put out. It seems that somewhere between 30 & 45 minutes seems to be the sweet spot (for me at least) for these kinds of videos. Your narration during the videos doesn't bother me either. You inject a bit of pleasant, good humor into your narration.

A few years ago I did some tables for an aviation museum. Not the "museum" you might think, it was the engineering history of one specific EVTOL aircraft. They wanted tall, narrow oak tables on wrought iron legs. I did the tops in tung oil. Two coats over two days. Wiped down and then set those tables free!!! Well, to dry for a week really...

You speak well in front of the camera and your "subject matter" is very interesting, so I don't really care how long your episodes are. As for your other question, I have used Tung oil and Danish oil and I just love both of their results. I just finished a small cricket table and I used a combination of maple and cherry wood. The results are similar to what you did with the cedar and pine. What a perfect choice! BTW I added a little dark walnut stain to my Danish oil just to add a little colour to the cherry and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing your life on the moose, the views are amazing.

All good 👍 with your video programs
And the only way you can get the project completed with a bit of personal humor it’s all good 👍

As you were rapping up and talking, in the BG I was looking at the level of the porch. I'm sure it was the wide angle of the lens distortion but it sure looked ways off from where I sit. Good job Patrick. I think you know quite a bit more about the stick building trade than you let on....maybe its that wide angle lens again??

Indeed! I noticed that shot as well. All just video distortion. And thank you!

Tung oil comes from the pressed nut of the tung tree, a native of China. The tree has heart-shaped leaves, and the Chinese word for heart is tung. To a healthy tongue/tung. I'm especially liking the oil on the grey boards.
