Your videos are just fine with the lengths you’ve been making them. We watch them to the end, whether short or long. Also, keep the commentary just the way you’ve been doing it since the beginning. Your knowledge and sense of humor are what keeps us coming back!
Don’t change for others. You have a unique way of entertaining those that watch each week. Your “commercial” describing the Moose hoody had me rolling. You have a way with words that is so fun. Stay who you are and talk as long as you wish!
Your videos are usually 20 minutes to 40 minutes long. You do not talk too much at all. I believe you welcome us to be watching like we were there. Just keep doing the same thing you have been doing. Always enjoy watching. Thank you.
The beam and ridge cap really adds to the look. Looks great Patrick. 20 minutes +/- is right. I like your commentary and light hearted banter. Even the occasional lunch and mule deer scenes. Keep it up.
My friend, personnally, I wouldn't mind if your videos were longer,& I really enjoy the way you speak to us as if we were right there with you. I also want to add that I think your doing a fantastic job on your cabin,& I worked as a carpenter for many, many years. Sincerely, your friend, the old Montana cowboy, Frank Scherping😊
Yes, 30 minutes works just fine. It’s good to be able to join you on the job site again! Always looking forward to your weekly progress and you really are doing a fantastic job on your “cabin in the middle of nowhere”👍👍
I've been enjoying your videos at the 30-40 minute length. They have an ASMR quality, but are still informative. Also, your general positivity means that I have enough time to sit and enjoy the video and not feel rushed or that I need to squeeze in the time. I really enjoy your weekly updates. Also,... unrelated. How do you never seem to miss a cut. I'm impressed with how accurately your cuts seem to fit.
Thank you! I’ve missed a cut or two! Sometimes on video! Yes, I do sometimes edit out the boring stuff which sometimes includes boring errors, but mostly what you see is what you get. Plus, I’ve been doing this sort of thing quite awhile. 🙏
I look forward to these every week. I am fine with anywhere from 20-50 mins. Less than 20 and I would feel short changed. I really enjoy the music. It’s relaxing. Coffee sipping music with mountain vistas and the wildlife. It’s a great way to wind down the week
I personally like your humor and that you describe what you are doing. I find the video length just right as you don't split the projects up into multiple videos. Keep up the great work!
Love tung oil and how it makes wood pop. I used it on my skoolie camper walls that were pallet wood and it looked nice. Your ceiling looks amazing! Can’t wait to get to doing the pretty stuff on mine. 25-35 minute videos usually do the best. Have a great day, Moose on!
Hey love watching the progress of the spur cabin. I think you do a great job filming your videos. Whoever commented that you not talk so much should turn down the volume Please keep doing what you want and talking to your viewers, you are good to watch and learn from. Your personality is contagious that's why we watch. Keep it up.
I've been watching since you started the foundation box for the Spur cabin. I look forward to getting home from work every Friday to catch your videos. Whether short or long, I'll continue watching. Thank you so much! God bless.
Hi, Patrick! The ceiling is really nice with this oil. 😊 And about the videos, I don't think your videos are long. Your personality and how you present everything as if we were there with you, helping you with all tasks, make a difference. The time for the video depends on the activity you are doing on it. Some activities need more time and some need less time. So, in my opinion, you should continue doing the videos as you are doing now. The main thing is to continue be yourself. 🤩 You know you are the man!
Patrick, you know I love you brother, please do us both a favor a wear your safety glasses. Norm Abram always said there is no more important tool to use than safety glasses. Amazing finishing touches on your project. Keep moving forward- Rancho de Vegas PS: Love the Moose Mugs!
'Peak your interest'... did not go over my head. I can't hold my tongue, I like the Tongue Oil on the Tongue and Grove :-) Video length is fine for me. Nice work!
I prefer 20-30 min videos just as you always do! I enjoy your commentary and find it entertaining and informative also! Love how the blue is coming through, great job as always! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Don’t change a thing , keep talking and working and explaining as you go , I love each episode and your sense of humor, if you changed anything do 2 a week lol
I like the short videos, and the L-O-N-G videos and the medium videos, I even like the videos you haven't made yet. Drinking hot tea in my Life on the Moose mug. I'll make you a deal, you keep making them and I'll keep watching them. 💛
Houston here, my apologies for the absence and late response. I really like how subtle the tung oil looks. I was a bit surprised that it makes the darker parts of the wood really stand out, but the lighter parts seem to stay about the same. I like the length of the videos you put out. It seems that somewhere between 30 & 45 minutes seems to be the sweet spot (for me at least) for these kinds of videos. Your narration during the videos doesn't bother me either. You inject a bit of pleasant, good humor into your narration.
Patrick, all your videos are perfect. You sir are awesome. Would like to know if you have moose merch tshirt with "life on the moose" and saying "it'll be fine". That is the saying I say to my wife right before it doesn't go right. That way I can point to the shirt and she can turn away not to see and be ready to dail 911.😂
Patrick your videos are just fine. Infornative, interesting and very entertaining. Your narratives are funny, inviting and engaging. I love the project, the scenery and the cooking-on-the-go. I look forward to your videos (long or short) every week. Best entertainment value here in Vegas.
I prefer the longer videos except when it is brushing sealer. Talking could be less but not really negative. All good. Still one of my favorite channels. Thank you for the entertainment.
I enjoy the things you talk about during the videos. And I think the videos are fine either short or long. I'll watch them until the end no matter how much you talk or don't. But I prefer you do some talking in the videos. If those who don't like to listen to you speak, there is a "Mute" button lol. Great video love the cedar ideas with the fence boards!
The tail don't wag the Dog. You do the videos, I'll do the watching. I don't see any need to tell you your craft. I appreciate the content. Thanks and All the best.
A few years ago I did some tables for an aviation museum. Not the "museum" you might think, it was the engineering history of one specific EVTOL aircraft. They wanted tall, narrow oak tables on wrought iron legs. I did the tops in tung oil. Two coats over two days. Wiped down and then set those tables free!!! Well, to dry for a week really...
I love Tung Oil. It’s my favourite finish on furniture I make using Tasmanian Oak (aka Messmate bot. Eucalyptus obliqua) and also the lap steel guitars I occasionally craft. Always livens up any grain. Good choice.
I like your videos, they are informative on what you are doing and why. Without being this is how you do it step by step. You are a good host/narrator/commentator and I like your sense of humor. One day I hope to see one of your viewers actually helping out. (Maybe they have some expertise you don’t or they might just be an extra pair of hands). Your videos encourage me to build something myself.
I use tung oil (100% pure) with no 'dryers' in it on a variety turned wood. it really works great. I would put at least another coat on those super thirsty pine boards. I like the videos how you do them. I can always go for more/longer content. but you be you. that will make the videos interesting when you're yourself.
Excellent video as always! I'm fully enjoyed every minute from it, as every time! 👍 Leave video length and Your comments as is. It's perfect for entertaining and that is Your way to create content.. 😉 I love watching them.. Waiting for next one..
One board at a time ! The cabin is coming along great :) Cabin warming party soon " Beautiful views from the Ranch ! That oil sure brings out the grain , I just milled a lot of 1" last spring to dry so i can use it this summer on my cabin & shop :)
Great to see the next step! Loving the look of that pine ceiling!! BTW, IMO the length of the video is just right to cover what you've been doing each segment. As always, thank you for sharing and all the extra work you put into this for us!! It is appreciated....although I would have done it a different way... The right way .... ;) J/K Stay safe Patrick and we'll see you next week. Cheers
I also prefer approximately 30 minute videos. Longer than that and I struggle to absorb the information. I watch for both information and entertainment.
I agree, 30 minutes is just right for me!! Still looking for that "Life on the Moose" White Tee?? Too warm here in SWFL for that Hoodie!! I really enjoy your videos!!
Hi. Video at 30 minutes fits better, just busy with life. Definitely keep the commentary, what makes you different from others. Your personality and positive take makes the channel.Heritage Natural Oil finish is really great. I am building a timberframe cabin and putting on all the wood. Good product all natural, they have both inside and external (stands up to weather), worth the money. If you ever want to do a timberframe cabin happy to help in any way.
You speak well in front of the camera and your "subject matter" is very interesting, so I don't really care how long your episodes are. As for your other question, I have used Tung oil and Danish oil and I just love both of their results. I just finished a small cricket table and I used a combination of maple and cherry wood. The results are similar to what you did with the cedar and pine. What a perfect choice! BTW I added a little dark walnut stain to my Danish oil just to add a little colour to the cherry and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing your life on the moose, the views are amazing.
I like to keep the area light as possible and dark wood (wood is my favorite by far) just darkens the place too much. Especially that pine which really darkens with any finish.
As you were rapping up and talking, in the BG I was looking at the level of the porch. I'm sure it was the wide angle of the lens distortion but it sure looked ways off from where I sit. Good job Patrick. I think you know quite a bit more about the stick building trade than you let on....maybe its that wide angle lens again??
Tung oil comes from the pressed nut of the tung tree, a native of China. The tree has heart-shaped leaves, and the Chinese word for heart is tung. To a healthy tongue/tung. I'm especially liking the oil on the grey boards.
Your videos are just fine with the lengths you’ve been making them. We watch them to the end, whether short or long.
Also, keep the commentary just the way you’ve been doing it since the beginning.
Your knowledge and sense of humor are what keeps us coming back!
Wow that’s so kind! I appreciate that. 🙏
30 minute videos are perfect.... and your personality comes through with your commentary... don't stop!
That’s very kind. 🙏
Don’t change for others. You have a unique way of entertaining those that watch each week. Your “commercial” describing the Moose hoody had me rolling. You have a way with words that is so fun. Stay who you are and talk as long as you wish!

My dad and uncle would always talk me through the tasks they were doing so I would absorb their knowledge. You are doing just fine. Thanks
MUCH appreciated. 🙏
For me personally, I’m just happy with whatever you give us to watch!
Well, thank you! 🙏
FYI I have a bad back and bad knees and am envious of what you have accomplished all alone on these cabin builds. It’s truly inspiring

love me some cedar fence boards. Looks so good.
Longer the better, and chat away, always enjoy hearing what you have to say, don't watch many that I can say that about. 😊
Thank you!🙏
Just discovered a real advantage to 6/12 pitch, especially in a cabin in the middle of somewhere
I love Tung Oil. It’s my favourite finish on furniture I make using Tasmanian Oak (aka Messmate bot. Eucalyptus obliqua) and also the lap steel guitars I occasionally craft. Always livens up any grain. Good choice.
No kidding?! That’s cool.
I like 20-30 minute videos. Other channels I watch regularly that have been airing for years, find that 20 minutes is where people log off...
Excellent, thank you! 🙏
Great! To inspire anyone is an accomplishment for me.

Thanks! And Cool! Let me know how it goes.
Cheers
Thank you so much. Cheers!
I also prefer approximately 30 minute videos. Longer than that and I struggle to absorb the information. I watch for both information and entertainment.
MOOSE 🕵♂Approved 👍
Beautiful 🏚️
I agree, 30 minutes is just right for me!! Still looking for that "Life on the Moose" White Tee?? Too warm here in SWFL for that Hoodie!! I really enjoy your videos!!
Thank you! T’s are within a couple weeks, I hope.
I like your commentary. Keep it up.
Nah i love the 30-45 minute range. Like everyone else said, don't change a thing
I appreciate that! Glad you’re here.🙏
Maple;oak, teak, and cypress wood are some that I have use tung oil all look great 😊
Ah cool!
Wow that’s nice of you! Thanks for the info and the comment. 🙏
A cricket table? Good idea with the walnut stain!
Nice cabin! I love it. This video was a good length.
Great! 🙏
I think your videos are very nice. They are informative and entertaining!!!
Thank you so much!
My shoulders are sore now. Tough work on the ceiling . Glad you can rest now. 30 min vids are good.
🙏
I enjoy your videos no matter long or short you make your videos so exciting to watch keep up the great work
Thank you so much!
i agree 30 40 minute is good. camera lighting on the second day much better
Thank you!
Beautiful good job
I don't have a favorite of lenght Patrick...as long as you make these interesting enough to watch
Seems fair to me!
Looks great my friend
Thank you!
I like to keep the area light as possible and dark wood (wood is my favorite by far) just darkens the place too much. Especially that pine which really darkens with any finish.
All good 👍 with your video programs
And the only way you can get the project completed with a bit of personal humor it’s all good 👍
Wow thanks!!
Indeed! I noticed that shot as well. All just video distortion. And thank you!
Tung oil comes from the pressed nut of the tung tree, a native of China. The tree has heart-shaped leaves, and the Chinese word for heart is tung. To a healthy tongue/tung. I'm especially liking the oil on the grey boards.
That’s super interesting! I appreciate that. 🙏
