Excellent video as always! That one board come out with very beautiful pattern.. I love my egg yolk runny when making bullseye.. But I like eggs prepped in different ways too.
I like eggs fried in bacon grease. I like the yolks so hot you have to blow on it and bacon grease cooks hotter . Also toast dipper or with grits too. Nice job sawyer!
Welcome home Patrick. I notice you brought some bad humor back with you from the Aloha State. You “crack” me up! Enjoying your eggcellent act here in Vegas. Have a great week friend.😂 PS: Portable saw mill- the ultimate dream tool for any man!
Always like milling videos, nice. I agree always will use the wood for something never goes to waste. Medium over easy. Glad you got a break but great to be back on the site with you. See you next week.
It's really interesting how this equipment works! And I can imagine how expensive it is. But as you have shown, it's important to know how to identify if the wood is in good condition to be used and where you can use it. I'm always learning from your videos. Thanks, Patrick! 😊
I love to milling my own trees off my little piece of heaven in northeast Washington with my Sequoia Mills SM-120. These sawmills are custom built in Springdale, WA!
Great job on the sawmill by yourself lots of love or that you’re finding out there if you need it to look for it when you find it you know you got it also Eggs are best OVER EASY AND PUTTING THEM RIGHT ON TOP OF WELL DONE TOASTED SOURDOUGH BREAD -very brown all the way around with butter and jam!!!
Patrick, your wife is right scrambled. However, I need ketchup or salsa with it. I hope you continue your videos with your cabin house build. You have inspired my wife and I with our cabin build. You have me learning so much. Thank you, ps can't wait till I get my tee shirt.
Great to be back on the job site with you again Patrick! Sawmill is handy when you have your own timber to work with, I found it a very interesting process. Take care of yourself Patrick and I’ll plan on seeing you next week, I’ll meet you at the Cabin👍
An egg-cellent episode 👍. Most Danes prefer there eggs soft boiled. You boil the egg for about 5m 25 sec, then you take the egg out of the water, then you tap the egg with a knife about 1/4 part down and remove the top part of the egg and eat out of the shell. I personally prefer to sprinkle it with a little salt and pepper. 🥚 And yes the yolk is runny and the egg-white is suppose to be white and not runny at all.
I should be milling my logs right now. I have the same mill and love it. I stopped to watch this video during lunch.... low and behold your milling too. I feel like I am getting something done while sitting here...... going to suck when I walk out and still have six logs to mill..... :) Scrambled eggs and street taco's with salsa for me... sometimes a little cheese. Definitely over medium when having toast though. Vaht a yolkster.
My breakfast: 2 eggs over easy, home fries, sausage, and potato bread toast. Butter the toast ( I add a little melted butter from the frying pan before putting the home fries in, to get butter to the 4 corners of the toast) When everything is done I put the OE eggs on the toast, break the yolks to dribble it over the home fries. Sausage is cut into 1/8's, egg on toast cut into 1/4's. A bite of each is a great flavor. Use Kerry butter and it tastes like magic. :)
I used to love my eggs just like you. Sadly several years ago I was diagnosed as allergic to eggs (which I’ve eaten all my life) but I kept eating them as long as the yolk is completely cooked. Then may 19 of last year I had an extreme reaction to some yolks not being completely done at a breakfast place known worldwide - had to have medical intervention and I haven’t eaten eggs since. I’m sad about that but I like the way you cook your eggs. 🥚
Nice touch getting a movie star to do your commercials. To answer your question about the best way to eat an egg...I have mine eggzackly the same as you. Any way other than soft yolked is just not right. Oh yeah, the other way I like my eggs is to hatch them, raise them, then batter and fry em. When I was in my late teens/early twenties I ran a kitchen at a fancy restaurant. There I learned how to cook a steak in order to make it taste divine. The rarer it is, the better for me. I remember one old timer that used to order his steak "Just cut off the horns, wipe it's arse, plate it, and send it out!". Surely you got to realize just how blessed you are to reside in the area where you live, have your talent, and your health. You also have so many resources with which to build your projects. Those logs came out amazing. I can't wait to see how you put them to use. Another thing...keep the puns coming. Be sure to have your ear plugs out when you lay one (or two) on us so you can hear our moaning. See you next week.
I believe I heard moaning over the sawmill noise! I also worked in a fancy restaurant early 20’s and cooked steak. Bloody is best! I do feel blessed. Y’all being here is a part of that.
Long video.... but the logs were just as long, if not longer. Of course we haven't seen the end of them. Loved the first part of the two logs by the fence, as they can be seen in the aerial. Further east the aerial shot is much earlier, probably from before the fire. Great video, food for thought, thank you.
Great video. Building my hm130 now. Have a giant swamp pine that’s been down for 5 years. This gives me hope that it’s still good enough for window , base ect trim. Thanks.
Just thought if you need an old garden shed, tool shed, or dog house near the new cabin, those end pieces could work as rustic siding but you know if they are too far gone. Nice work, saved yourself hundreds of dollars.
No red meat and anything but runny! Also- my 17 yr old son as entertained as well by your merch modeling moment. I think he was confused at first about what I was watching since its usually something off-grid or news-ish. Hopefully we will gwt to see what you use your newly milled wood for.
Patrick, I bought one of those battery operated,Milwaukee finis hing nailers. Like it, but the lowest setting sinks the finishing nail too deep, sometimes.
This time of year a cold snap is possible. Winter windshield washer fluid works well in the blade lubrication and cooling department. If it can cut the bug crud on the windshield a little pitch should be a walk in the park.
Your videos wood be more eggcelent if you were to drive a Chevy. And yes I bought land out in the middle of nowhere to build a cabin on because of you!!
I have pretty much the exact same mill. I have found that if you cut 2x6 by 6 foot to span two leveling jacks, instead of short blocks for each jack, the mill tends to stay more stable/level. Watch a couple of my videos for more tips. Cheers.
That portable sawmill is a serious tool. But please consider keeping those outside rough slab cuts, you'll find a use for them somewhere down the road.Regarding rare meat and raw eggs... my wife and I are good examples of those preferences. She likes her eggs over very easy, which equates to raw. She also likes her steaks rare and bloody. Whereas I like my eggs fried or scrambled well done, not runny at all, and my steaks well done with a crispy charred outside. To each his own.
Great episode, very satisfying to see the loggs turning in beautiful planks, really hard work! Here in Japan they crack raw eggs on top of many hot dishes, took me time to get used to it 😅. Out of curiosity: for the best result, after cutting the tree you should process it right the way then dry it later or the logg needs time to "rest" first? Cheers and keep the great work!👍
If the tree is dead, burned like these, the sooner you can mill it the better. If you cut a green living tree down, you can mill immediately, but the boards have to dry in a kiln or be stickered like I did. Depending on the climate, a green log that dries for a year may be perfect. I appreciate you watching! 🙏
Nest: Use a glass to cut the center out of a slice of bread and put it in the frying pan of bacon grease and then break an egg into the hole in the bread.
Never made the correlation between solidity of my egg yolks with the done-ness of my meat vittles before, but you're right, Patrick! I prefer my eggs fully cooked and the cow fully dead before I eat it! Got sick once as a child after eating some rare steak, and I've never been able to eat it rare since. How long do you have to let that wood dry before you can use it, I wonder?
I like my eggs always in all ways. Poach em, scramble them, all versions of over and sunnyside, deviled, dropped (Chinese soup reference) hard or soft boiled, in potato and macaroni salad, pickled or sober. I even like them hatched into further egg layers. I'm egg gregarious. Some would say eggcentric...
@@LifeontheMoose Try it, might be good for you. It retains 100% of the nutrition that cooking destroyed. I usually mix my raw eggs with some kind of fruit smoothy. But I have been known to chugalug one if I'm in a hurry.
I like medium rare steak. Anything else is sacrilege. 😂 But eggs? Well done please. Scrambled or hard boiled. If it's soft or liquid it's a no from me. Might be delicious, but I'll never know.
I think I smell that wood........like I have said before ,,I lov wood..I lov working with wood. It's strange..my dad was a Pipeline Welder he built everything out of metal.
YES! I think milling logs is very fun. It's like treasure hunting. Its fun until you turn it into a job, then it's more work than fun. In my experience any hobby or thing you turn into an income looses some of it's appeal.
