  • When his partner got him a hummingbird feeder as a birthday present, this guy was determined to make friends with a hummingbird. Having recently lost his cousin, he had heard there was a spiritual connection to hummingbirds coming to visit you. Eventually, Hector the hummingbird showed up at his window.

    Soulmates come in different sizes and shapes. They will always find you. When I lost my cousin in a car crash in 2000, I found Kasek, my German Shepherd. When he passed in 2012, my son was born 4 months later. Keep them close. Love the video.

He didn't want to leave me, and would fly through the window into my bedroom and sit on the end on the bed. He would also sit on my shoulder and arm in the garden. One day he flew away and never came back. I hoped he was happy and prayed he was well. True story.

    Hummingbirds are delightful little creatures. They are so entertaining. It is such a joy to watch them frolic and breathtaking to hand feed them. I am grateful to have a shimmering of hummers visit my yard everyday to feed from the feeders and flowers in the garden I have.
    Strategically, I placed one feeder in direct view of my bedroom window. It is the most popular feeder on the property with no less than nine hummingbirds competing for the nectar through each day. I refill that four flower, 10 0z. feeder on average three times daily. The birds are so used to me they will hum about my head and will feed from the feeder as I hold it in my hands. When I do this usually five hummingbirds will perch on my hands as the others birds wait their turn. It’s magical beyond words. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

      Hummingbirds have a ridiculously large percentage of their brains dedicated to visual processing, if I remember correctly it is the highest proportion amongst vertebrae species and they can, like many other birds, recognize human faces...... The arrogance of people horrifying in it's vast ubiquitousness, other life is also important & many other animals are complex thinking creatures and while we are the dominant species we are the worst and only evil species...... and if we dont grow up as a species REALLY soon we are going to be the death of all species for the sake of making ridiculously rich people more money and money is just something we made up

I was up early switching out their feeders every hour or less to keep them alive throughout the day until they retired for the night. One morning I slept in...my Anna's hummingbird was waiting at the door ...I had the fresh food ready and she drank right there as I was holding the food in the doorway. It was a special bond moment. When my aunt died, my cousin and I were sitting at stairs next to a train station. A dove came up and sat down by our side, very close and puffed up. It stayed with us the whole time we were sitting there and also blinked like cats do, when they trust you. It was like a message that everything will be okay. I never saw a dove do this bevore. Normally, if they come closer, they run in circles to see if you would give them some food

      I wish people would extend their love for animals to mean all animals, not just the ones they don't eat. Every animal deserves our love, respect and protection, we don't need to harm or kill any of them.

    • @HunterBelkiran
      @HunterBelkiran 3 года назад

      @Johnny Silverman But pigs, cows, and chickens won't rip you to shreds. Also, I'd add that love and respect doesn't always have to mean cuddling up to an animal. Perhaps it could mean that we allow other creatures the space to live their own lives, without human interference. Obviously, domesticated animals like pigs, cows and chickens would have to live their lives out on sanctuaries created by humans, but it's better than a short, miserable existence in a factory farm.

    That is beautiful. 👍🏼 I once saved a sparrow fell out of the nest, I took it home and put it in a shoe box and fed it dog food, the sparrow became stronger and stronger, so I decided to release it, I called the sparrow PIP, I released the sparrow and during the summer would fly into the house and sit on the sofa with me. Winter came and that was the last time I saw it, until the next summer when it flew into the house and sat on my shoulder, what an amazing experience to think that the sparrow had not forgotten. Beautiful. 👍🏼
