Awesome. And you just never know. I think most Reincarnation beliefs think that if you'd already been a human, and a good one, you'd at least come back as another human not an animal. BUT, what if you're given a choice?...perhaps they'd never had the experience of being hummingbirds, and wanted to try it at least once. 😊🙏

FUN FACT: hummingbirds are incredibly perceptive and they have the capacity to remember faces, where the nearest feeder is, and acts of kindness. If you save a hummingbird, it is highly likely it will return to you in the future and recognize you!!

The humming bird was starving to death. They Eat A lot. Hummingbirds have a very high metabolism and must eat all day long just to survive. They consume about half their body weight in bugs and nectar, feeding every 10-15 minutes and visiting 1,000-2,000 flowers throughout the day.

For anyone who finds a hummingbird like this. The recipe is 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. First boil the water, remember to account for evaporation. After boiling the water, shut off the flame and mix the sugar. Stir well so all the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar dissolves let the water cool and reach room temp. Once cooled you can let the hummingbird have it. If you have a syringe like this person did that works. Just brace it against something so it's more stable. You don't need to put the birds entire beck in the tip. Just bring it close, it's tongue can do the rest.

There is a little female hummingbird that comes to my window EVERY SPRING. She flutters in place until she knows I have seen her and she does this to tell me she is back for the summer. When her feeder needs more nectar, she flutters in place at the window for me to see her tell me this. She amazes me! I doubt I am the only human she has trained in this fashion! She is very territorial too! She will not let any other hummingbirds near 'her' feeder. I buy her a nice, new one every year with the features she seems to like the most, like perches. She actually likes to sit on a perch instead of flying in place to eat. I love her! I look forward to seeing her every spring.

I did something as a child.. maybe 8 or 9.. we had an above ground swimming pool, and there were usually a few drowned bugs floating that you had to scoop out before you went swimming.. One day, there was about a dozen black and yellow bees.. not sure what kind.. I thought they would be great for school.. I got a piece of cardboard and covered it with tin foil.. then took each bee and lined them up by size.. Then I got some straight pins from my mom's sewing stuff.. and I stuck pin through the smallest bee and then into the cardboard.. so the bee was suspended about half an inch above the foil.. I had a couple rows of bees and was proud of my project.. I left it outside on the picnic table.. when my mom got home, I went out to get it, to show her, and to my horror, half the bees were alive and buzzing, wings vibrating, legs moving.. I was stunned, sickened, almost.. and I couldn't believe I was responsible .. I honestly don't remember what I did next, but to this day I cant even touch a dead or dying creature

What's amazing is some the things they do!
When active, their hearts beat, if I recall correctly... Something, like... 200-600 times a minute? But, during sleep, their metabolism and heartrate drop shockingly.

Suddenly a hummingbird swooped in and started to dart in and out around the water as it came out. Then he moved in close and hovered so that he could drink directly from one of the gentle streams. I froze and let him drink until he was done at which point he took off. It was magical!

I saved a hummingbird that couldn't fly and was trapped in the limestone dust of a parking lot. I captured him with my bare hands and took him home and nursed him for four hours then when he could fly, I released him. As he flew away I told him to visit soon. The next year and for the following 12 years, we have had swarms of hummers to the point that one feeder wasn't enough. We put up the "race track", seven feeders that wrapped around our tiny house and love every one that visits.
I was born able to relate to wild animals. My first saved wild creature was a white duck from a pond where my father was buried. I was four. I am almost sixty now and am unable to continue due to health issues but every day I think about the animals I saved, the ones I lost and the inspiration to others to do the selfless act of caring for what can't take care of itself. Blessings.
