I've recently been in a bit of slump emotionally lately so I decided to buy 3 hummingbird feeders and a multi tier bird feeder. Let me tell you even the tinniest thing like a bird taking a perch and eating really makes me smile and is something I'm happy others share. You've been a real help and you always sounds so excited for your birds!!

Bless you for providing fresh water for these little friends. The unbelievable hot spells we've had this summer all over the U.S. have been unbearable. I can only imagine how hard it's been on birds and animals. Thank you so much. ✨💛✨
Neat, I remember about 25 years ago on one Hot July day while watering flowers with a water hose just using a fine spray--a hummingbird who must have been really hot flew into the path of the spray and just hovered there, you could tell that he was really enjoying his cool-off bath...
Love this, and it reminded me of something similar about 20 years ago not long after I bought my house. I was watering my lawn where I had had new sod and I saw 4-5 bluebirds bathing in the puddles on the sidewalk. Silly me, I started talking to them, and they tilted their heads as if they were listening. I just made a similar fountain a week ago, but I have not seen any hummingbirds or any birds using it yet. I have seen a couple of birds (not sure what kind) eating bird seeds from my feeder that is about 20 feet away.
I had the exact same type of encounter with a hummingbird. Watering my garden one early morning and he came and enjoyed a nice long bath in the water spray. It was such a magical moment that I will cherish forever.
I wish we had humming birds in Australia. Look at all those little darlings out the windows. I love this. I'm going to make it for all the critters. Thank you for the video ❤
You made me realize I kinda take hummingbirds for granted. We also have a lesser known hummingbird moth that are really neat. They are less common to see but are really chill and would let me get really close when I was a kid.
I never expected to live anywhere that hummingbirds live - they seemed so exotic when I was a child, and I was very surprised to find that ruby-throated hummingbirds are migratory and live for about half the year in North Carolina, where I now live. ..... They are very entertaining to watch, and will fight over the feeders that we put out for them - for a bird that isn't much bigger than a bee, they are _very_ agressive. They will also buzz around my head when I am outside in the yard.
This has to be one of the most fun, environmentally-friendly, economical, and ingenious ideas I've seen in a while. My granddaughter is visiting next month. I think I'll get the supplies and wait to make this with her. I know's going to. get a kick out of helping creatures in nature.
Robbie! Who else has your knack for knowing what the birds need? I would have NEVER thought of scoring the cap! You are a natural at this and thank goodness we have you ❤️ I've posted before that this is my first year planting a vegetable garden and it's colorful containers only. I'm 66 and I have so many containers in my two long driveways on each side of my little homestead, that my car barely fits in the driveway now! The other day I did the lasagna method and planted 18 plants in their containers even though the last two hours poured rain down on me, I was thrilled I got it done. I'm determined to grow my own vegetables and fruit from here on out. I'm in Washington state and I've got some fruit trees and Berry bushes at home AND I'm finding out there are fruits we would grow in So. Cal that I can grow here too. This is a full time job learning from you experts AND doing the work to get growing on time, or starting early in the home. I really am forever grateful. And.... I'm a big bird feeder and this fountain will be so fun to make!

I am off work, recovering from a knee replacement and would be bored to death, otherwise. These flying little jewels are so amazing. Thank you, Robbie. ❤️ ❤
Quick suggestion: if you put the holes a bit higher on the plate curve (edges), more water will accumulate on the plate before draining back down. This way the water can be a bit deeper for the other types of birds. Nevertheless, you came up with a phenomenal idea!
I'm absolutely fascinated watching the hummingbirds in the background outside the window, and hearing their calls! I've never been able to get more than one hummingbird at my feeders!
I purchased 2 table fountains. One is adorable cups and saucers piled all kiity wampus as if in a sink and water cascades. The other is bronze dishes with river stones creating a relaxing spa ambiance. Only problem is they require an outlet. Very impractical for a table decoration. These pumps are PERFECT! I'm going to fill my yard with your great ideas for the critters. You're so enthusiastic I've watched your videos over and over!

most people tend to overwater their plants, drowning them in essence. let the dirt dry out on the top inch or so and then only water enough to moisten that.
Okay, so this is pure genius. Its such a loving gesture, and I’ll bet those hummingbirds love you right back. Thanks for such easy, relaxed instructions!

Robbie! You always make the BEST hummingbird fountains!!🥰 I just made one with the concrete ball that you show on another one of your videos and my birds love, love, LOVE IT!!❤️ 🦅
What a wonderfully CLEVER IDEA!!!!!! I love to make my avian neighbors and visitors happy, hydrated and safe!!!!! I've read that supplying water and bird baths are far more important than food! I have several bird baths of differing depths... especially after seeing a hawk once trying to take a bath! The oddest bird bath visitor that I ever had was an ibis!!! And grackles!!! OMG!!!! They soak their sunflower seeds in it, bathe in it, and drink... I clean and refill my bird bath multiple times a day during birding seasons! Thank you for this wonderful video.... I'm off to order a solar pump right NOW!!!!
Another easy, economical project to help the hummers and that will give you lots of enjoyment viewing them. Thanks so much for all your ideas Robbie! Making this one!
I wish I had known about this when I had my own home. I had the regular hummingbird feeder, and I actually had a family of them, returning each year, to my back porch. It was fantastic to watch them. One of these bird baths would have been spectacular.
Thank you for your video! I made two of these a couple of weeks ago and the birds are finally using them. I’m so excited! Now they receive fresh circulating water every day!
My grandma loved humming birds and had hundreds at her cabin in the woods. This makes me excited to one day have my own property and make my own little sanctuary like she did :)
Excellent video. I will make one. We just watched two baby doves be brought into the world by their parents. It is a miracle. Now, the babies are out of their nest and the parents are watching over them on the ground. I imagine next is flying lessons. Beautiful babies. They look just like their parents.
Wow! That is a fantastic idea, my family and I are in Texas and the hummingbirds always come back each year to our neighborhood and they especially love the sugar water and the birds of paradise that come back every year as well. With the hot weather coming, the birds would just love this. Thank you so much for sharing🙏🏻❤️✝️ God bless you
I so appreciate your thoughtful projects! Love how you purposefully attract birds to your garden. We have MANY sparrows in our backyard. They love to party here (I think they invite the whole block) I think what really struck me the most (a different fountain you made that I watched yesterday ) is a comment you made about the fountains enticing pollinators. Since I am also into gardening and watch your hints on a regular basis, I was intrigued. Ordered the parts yesterday after hearing that!!
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. It could easily be modified as a DIY pet fountain too. I love that it keeps the water cycling. Less chance of mosquito problems.
I cannot wait to make one of these! I love watching the hummingbirds at our feeder. I always make sure our fountain has water, but this is so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this idea! ❤️
Debby Downer here: I would recommend using a drill instead of a soldering iron to avoid breathing in the plastic fumes which cause COPD. Plus the birds will be ingesting some plastic as well with this method. But I have to say I do love your enthusiasm and creativity and love for nature. That is very sweet. Nice backyard view also btw!!! I am so jeally! 😁🏩
You always come up with simple ways to encourage these delightful creatures to enjoy themselves, & for us to invite them to spend time with us.❤ Thank yòu!
Ohhh!! I just adored this! You’re a genius!! Thank you SO very much! I want to make several of these! They’d make a great gift for one (or more) of your hummingbird lover friends!!! I’m excited to get started!!! Thank you ! Thank you SO much- as will all of our precious little hummers! Love and blessings! 🦋🦜🕊

I Love This! I get so many hummingbirds every year, I always feed them homemade sugar water, but I think I will add this to my back yard this year too! 💞 Thanks for sharing ❤️
This was a really fun tutorial! Thank you for sharing 💕 I'm going to add it to my project list but I think instead of using the whole bottle I'll just cut the top & adhere it to the plate (cutting a small hole for the water tube too). Then just stick the solar pump in the bucket or whatever vessel I use 😊 That way I don't need to really fuss with cutting the plate

This was fun & fairly easy to make! Our 1st 1 had a hummer in 10 minutes! Thank you for sharing this!!! The plate cutting was the problem...retired nurse learning DIY !
Yesterday, as I was spraying the Bird bath clean, a Hummingbird tried to get into the water stream- it was too strong, but when I switched it to shower he disappeared. We are having long weeks of temps over 100 here, so I wanted to help the little guys, too. I have a pump in a vase/fountain I don't use- I can't wait to get the rest of the stuff and make one! Thank you for the video! Few things in life are as amazing as Hummingbirds (especially if you've ever had them perch on your hand), and you are helping them!
I do agree with you hummingbirds are so amazing and so fun. And feeding them and giving them water especially moving water that they like will be even more beneficial for them, thanks so much for sharing ❤️
I like watching you create the solar water fountains for your birds. I bought one to do the same thing as you. Then i had the idea to use an additional solar water fountain to feed into the drip tape for my 4"x8" raised bed. It works! On a sunny day I can empty an 18 gallon tote onto my bed in 6 hours. Nice gentle drips every 6" on the drip tape. Then I can move the empty tote to water the next bed the following day. The solar panel is so movable, and I do not have to stand there and water for hours.
Absolutely love 💕 your site…these clips are so full of joy and love for the smallest birds. Thank you…thank you for sharing your info and inspiration.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Robbie, I have 3 solar fountains now, thank you for showing us your ideas!! I'm sad though, no hummingbirds come to any of the 3 fountains. I have 1 in my veggie garden sitting on a chair with the stick perch, I see & hear the humming birds when I'm in the garden, there's 7 feeders but no birds of any kind come to the fountain. I have the other 2 under my 5 humming bird feeders closer to the house. I see them feed but not one is visiting the fountains. I do see the sparrows take dirt baths where I mixed my soil for this season. Maybe the birds are too clean. LOL
Keep in mind, they may use them when you are not around....try putting a pot of plants near on like in the photo here and see if that does anything, Take care
Hi Eva, don't feel bad, I have been running a solar fountain on my deck for a couple of years and no birds or hummingbirds visit mine either. Maybe I need to put a trellis or something next to it so they have somewhere to perch afterwards. Maybe they feel too vulnerable there.
Even with other birds it's important to have shrubs or trees nearby so that they can hide away. "My" balcony birds are still so very shy they fly off at the slightest movement of a curtain.
I just love your wonderful enthusiasm! I live in the mountains with snowy winters and I have hummingbirds all year round. I just put out more nectar and the cute couple came and had a long rest and drank up. In the warm season there are gangs of them so I'm going to add one of your awesome inventions to give them more activities in their playground. Thanks so much for the great idea and positivity.

I really like this. I made the bucket years ago but I think I’ll do this instead. Smaller and easier to refresh the water. Thanks. You have so many great ideas
More to come, thanks so very much 😊❤️
I finally got mine made and yes it is as simple as you say and I LOVE IT! I'll be at my window all day waiting for the birds to show up! Thank you!
Where did you get your tubing and solar pump?
Thanks for sharing this great idea.
I just made this!!! Bring on the hummingbirds😊
❤️😊❤️😊❤️ thank you
My husband sent me this link, bless him! I've been wondering about adding a fountain or other little water feature for the birds besides the trays I have out and this would be PERFECT! Easy, budget friendly, and so useful for the hummingbirds! Thank you so much.
I'll be making one of these as soon as my hummingbird come back in the spring. Very nice.
this was so wholesome and heart warming, I want to make one too ... loved this idea and the creative aspect of it also 💛
Go for it! Thanks!
Another easy, economical project to help the hummers and that will give you lots of enjoyment viewing them. Thanks so much for all your ideas Robbie! Making this one!
Got to be one the most peaceful and satisfying endeavors.
Did I read your comment right in that it takes the 2 to 3 weeks before they start coming? I buiopt one today so that's why I am curious
I am mesmerized looking at the birds enjoying this ! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Absoloutely brilliant! This charming lady presents us with a very simple way to enhance the wellbeing and happiness of birds.
I congratulate you.🌹
I'm so glad you are feeling better! I sometimes struggle too and feeding and watching my birds really helps. Hoping you come out of your slump!! 3>
I love this so much! I'm going to make one as an outdoor drinking fountain for my kitties. Thank you!
I was thinking the same thing but I'm going to use an electric one and a shorter bucket/pail, for my indoor kitties!
that is a perfect idea!
Thank you for a great idea! We have more hummingbirds this year so I’m going to do this.
This or a cup or wait till you see more coming pretty soon, Have Fun!
Holy cow, I can’t believe how many hummingbirds are outside your window. Amazing.
It's easy to see you have the happiest hummingbirds, I can't wait to make a couple of these. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful idea.
My grandma loved humming birds and had hundreds at her cabin in the woods. This makes me excited to one day have my own property and make my own little sanctuary like she did :)
Come on........You can still make it and it's easy to move when you move......
@@juneerasmus3485 That's true, I live in an apartment complex but I might set up a hummingbird feeder outside my door at least
Thank you. This is one of the easiest birdbath you've made but so effective.
Cute as can be and so easy I love this project.
How fantastic it must be to have humming birds around your home!
Amazing!!
This is my second time watching this - I just love watching the hummers taking a bath ❤😂
Just wait till you see my New Fountain coming very soon 😊 Thank You ❤
It's just wonderful to see Hummers flitting around the feeders outside every time there's a long shot!
Thanks!
That was so cute seeing the hummingbird bathe itself in the running water. Great Fountain!
It is, too fun, Thanks
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. It could easily be modified as a DIY pet fountain too. I love that it keeps the water cycling. Less chance of mosquito problems.
Lady, you are awesome! Thank you sharing this and for your dedication to helping some of nature's wonderful creatures. Stay well and enriching!
I cannot wait to make one of these! I love watching the hummingbirds at our feeder. I always make sure our fountain has water, but this is so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this idea! ❤️
I made one, my hummers don't come near it...
I'm trying this. I enjoy watching my hummingbirds around the feeder. They'll love this!
Thanks for sharing
Have fun!
Very cool. Nothing more serene than watching those tiny little bird frolic around feeders, flowers and fountains.
They are such a joy to watch them feed and watch every day as they bathe on that bottle. Thank you so much. ❤️
Man she got them humming birds every where, flapping around happy as can be!!!
😊 Thank you
Debby Downer here: I would recommend using a drill instead of a soldering iron to avoid breathing in the plastic fumes which cause COPD. Plus the birds will be ingesting some plastic as well with this method. But I have to say I do love your enthusiasm and creativity and love for nature. That is very sweet. Nice backyard view also btw!!! I am so jeally! 😁🏩
So glad I came across this! I’m going to make me one this weekend! We have a hummingbird feeders so this will be great to sit beside a couple of them!
That looks easy enough to make thank you for sharing this, I love watching the hummingbirds at the feeders ❤🤗😊
What a cool project!! My brain is bubbling with ideas ✌️
You always come up with simple ways to encourage these delightful creatures to enjoy themselves, & for us to invite them to spend time with us.❤ Thank yòu!
This is great! I loved your other video of the birdbath with a bowl but this is even better! Thank you!
I TOTALLY love this! Thank you, and you make directions so easy to follow. I'm going to make it for sure!
Great idea! You inspired me to make one. I also made one out of the ball part of a Goodwill lamp ... already has the holes! So easy!
Ca n you show a picture somehow
Ohhh!! I just adored this! You’re a genius!! Thank you SO very much! I want to make several of these! They’d make a great gift for one (or more) of your hummingbird lover friends!!! I’m excited to get started!!! Thank you ! Thank you SO much- as will all of our
precious little hummers!
Love and blessings! 🦋🦜🕊
You are an amazing, happy, creative lady! I made one this morning and just hoping the birds come soon! Thanks!
Wonderful! ❤️
Thanks 😊
Voila! A few birds came to enjoy!
This will be a great project for me and my grandson. I love my hummingbirds also.
This is awesome! I can’t wait to make some!🥰
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Greetings!! Question: I reside in VA. As winter sets in, should the entire hummingbird set up be brought indoors? Thanks, From VA Subbed!!
Stumbled on this wonderful tutorial! I absolutely adore this! You explained everything in detail. Going to be doing this with my 4 year old granddaughter!
Oh have fun, thank you so much 😊 ❤️
I Love This!
I can't visualize this setup. If you are so inclined, please make a video of your project and post the link here so we can all see it. Thank u, thank u!
It's very cute to see them take a bath 🥰
Beautiful genius, look at all those little guys in the background. Wonderful can't wait to get one of those done myself. Thank you for sharing 😁👍
You’re awesome 👏 thanks for the simple and perfect hummingbird fountain diy ,Works like a charm!
My sister loves hummingbirds, so i forwarded this to her👍🏻🥰🤩🌻🌷⚘
Wow!!!.. a thousand thanks and thumbs up..thanks bunches..as always prayers and blessings to all
That is a brilliant idea. Those birds are so beautiful. Thank you so much
That is so cute!
Absolutely love 💕 your site…these clips are so full of joy and love for the smallest birds. Thank you…thank you for sharing your info and inspiration.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oh how I love this! Thank you for sharing and God bless you!
Once again, this is a fantastic idea. I live in Northern California and it's starting to heat up. Can't wait to make one for the humming birds.
Hello Shonda, how are you doing today?
Where are you writing from?
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy do you have honeysuckle or star jasmine etc? They love them!
Hi Eva, don't feel bad, I have been running a solar fountain on my deck for a couple of years and no birds or hummingbirds visit mine either. Maybe I need to put a trellis or something next to it so they have somewhere to perch afterwards. Maybe they feel too vulnerable there.
@@carries.9919 That could be. Birds love perches!
I absolutely love this idea! I’m going to make this with my granddaughters.
Thank you so much for sharing!!❤️❤️
I love this . Great idea ty Robbie for posting
