We'll never see anything like that again. Fiercely competitive but they were enjoying themselves too. Look at Rodney's celebration of his second goal and the chuckles after his tackle on his team-mate.
The incomparable Bobby Moore was also wearing a Fulham shirt back in them days. I didn't get to see this exact match, but I did see Fulham play in the league this season.
This game was played on my 11th birtday and I got taken to this game as part of my birthday treat.I am 43 now and I am still as mad on Fulham as I was then.Mind you things have changed a bit these days down at The Cottage.
Best and Moore in the same team, in the championship equivalent, bizarre how two of the best ever players end up on the same team, yet that team isn't even in the top division.
I would say 3 of the best actually as Rodney Marsh wasn't far behind them TWO great players, Stan bowls was another great players to QPR? over the years we had some truly Amazing players in England/Britain, in this we should have won the world cup at least twice maybe more Italia 1990? Gaza Mark wright n so many others that was the year I was certain the cup was ours
Just saw Rodney Marsh; he was at the Tampa Bay Rowdies vs New York Cosmos NASL match at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, FL. Record attendance that night (8/10/13). Game ended in a 0-0 draw. Rodney looked quite fit as he signed autographs for the fans & posed for pictures.
Dear Panda: ...And be hounded, harassed, and hagridden by haters on social media. M.M.B. were three of my favorite players. I made the exciting trek to Loftus Road on many occasions to see Marsh: Later, his doppelganger Stan Bowles of QPR: Great days.
Best and Marsh turned it on for the cameras a couple of times but did ***k all for the rest of the season as Fulham dropped 5 places from the previous season to finish 17th in Division 2.
Fulham did well to sign such talent, Hereford were a very good team at the time, and they got schooled there, only time I've ever liked Fulham btw, Bluebirds!!!!!
@@EvoGoody , you have a better memory than me, I do recall Hereford in 76 with Dixie Mcneil being good, we played them in 3rd division in front of 37,000 crowd at Ninian, won 2.0, Livermore and Campbell, I didn't need rosey specs that night.
@@steaks652 I wasn't around then. I just looked at results and the league table. Both teams had very poor seasons. Fulham had finished comfortably higher in the previous two seasons so they were worse with Best and Marsh who probably only turned it on for the cameras. Mostly though, Fulham's results were dire in 76/77. Best and Marsh went back to America after that. They couldn't care less about Fulham. A pair of p1ss takers who just took the wages for a season.
@@steaks652 Fact. Not harsh. Look at the awful season Fulham had when they played. They turned it on for the cameras against bottom of the table Hereford but did little else. The facts are what they are. Fulham were better in the seasons prior to their arrival. Again fact!

What a a class players in 76/77 season were in Fulham -Marsh, Moore, Best...

I wish I was alive to see these legends play together.
BRING BACK THE FUN!!!!!
what football was really about, just so entertaining,,they just needed frank worthington!!!!!
I was there that afternoon in September. Great soccer experience. Best and Marsh geniuses.

Dear Clover White: Fulham are established in the upper tier of England's Football league.
Marsh and Best, brilliant!
They were definitely good ol' days back at the cottage.

Dear Bob Munton: *Three:* Rodney Marsh was in the "Best" type category.

golazo by Rodney Marsh. they would probably get a fine from their club these days if they tackled each other like that

its was funny loved it best and marsh brilliant
@tine214 You just took the worlds out of my mouth sir! Haha!
I was at that game.
George was only 29 here. He should've been playing like this at 43 or 44.
He was 31
Georgie Best was fucking gorgeous! 💕
Fulham did well to sign such talent, Hereford were a very good team at the time, and they got schooled there, only time I've ever liked Fulham btw, Bluebirds!!!!!
Hereford weren't good. They finished bottom of the league and Fulham finished 17th.
People are looking at this through rose tinted glasses.

Funny when Best took the ball off Marsh : D
Dear Suzanne Gee: This was amusing: Akin to a charity-type event with fun and blithe.
qpr legend 😅
Where did he stand ?
I have been meaning to ask you for 4 years now.
Great fun, but that free kick was shite! :-D
