sickening how bobby moore was treated by the F.A, and football in general after retirement. probably england's greatest defender/leader.

Im a taxi driver down here in poole dorset . Frequently take gazza around and he has said many times the f.a. love you when youre fit & playing well but when youre not......youre a nobody and they do nothing to help you...sad.

Yes, it is terrible what happened. It reminds me of veterans when they leave the army the military. They have no support or help after they have fought for their country our country Britain.

I support Manchester United, I really love Busby babies, Fergie boys, too some several Liverpool legends, Duncan Edwards, Stanley Mathews, and some others... but Bobby Moore was the best. although a center back, he waas a complete player. skillful, wise, quick, after him came paolo maldini, nemanja vidic and metz hummels... some right footed players acting by left side at the pitch. the only one to mark Pele, Best, Mathews, Garrincha, Jairzinho, Puskas, law, Muller, Eusébio, and several others

I love these guys accents. The London accent is so nice. I think it is one of the best of all the various English accents. So warm sounding.

Interesting comment Andrea...But I think the London accent is being watered down(through natural cultural reasons of course),but for many yrs the media has looked down it's nose at the "London accent and Londoners in general.
.And then of course the "Ali G"image didn't help, but paradoxically that seems to be def in "vogue" for some reason(even though Mr Cohen was hardly celebrating that manner of speaking,or the image of the exponents)That"s my little RANT over with!
But always nice to see the two Moore's.. Both class from different but memorable era's.

@@jerryoshea3116 Sad that the London accent is being watered down. Different parts of London had slightly different accents such as North London, South London and East London. The EastEnder accent from the East End is the distinct cockney accent. The "Ali G" character came from Staines which is just outside of South West London. Staines is on the River Thames but it is just outside of London. Ali G was meant to be sort of London Asian but he had an almost Jamaican thing in the way he talked and looked sort of American in the way he dressed. I think you are right that the London accent is being merged with other cultures. I don't understand why the media hate Londoners so much? If you look at other working-class groups like Mancunians the media seem to like them. People in the media seem to like the Liverpool accent, Newcastle accent, Glasgow accent, Yorkshire accent and so on. Why is the media so hard on Londoners? Really sad what has happened to the great city of London. Bobby Moore played for West Ham. I lived up North in Manchester for 3 years and I hated it there. I'm still dealing with trauma from what happened in Manchester I have a sort of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don't seem to like Londoners in Manchester. They have a hard macho type culture in Manchester and a real gangster culture. One of the men that hated me who was from the Manchester/Lancashire area was called Nova Rehman. Nova sounds like it could be a girls name but he was actually a very hard man a gangster type I found him frightening and threatening. I think Nova might be short for 'Navid' not totally sure though. I hope I never see him again. I won't go into detail as to what happened. After living in Manchester for 3 years I have so much more love and respect for Londoners both men and women I love them. I'm from London that is my culture. I really regret moving to Manchester for 3 years as it did damage to my health. I don't understand why Bobby Moore was treated so badly after he retired from playing football.

Bobby Moore died at just 51 years old that is really only half a life. He got an OBE from the Queen but he was treated badly when he retired from football. Why didn't Elton John step in to help him? There is a drama about Bobby Moore and his first wife Tina on ITV. He had a great East End London accent.

Obdulio Varela, Ernst Ocwirk, and Franz Beckenbauer were better at coming forward with the ball but Moore was the best ever 'in-line' sweeper.

I was always brought up with playing the Easy ball!, Bobby was the king of this, the easy short pass if in dangerous postion not to just whack it. Possession is the king, the opponents cannot score goals if you have all possession. I wasnt a defender though i played on the Right Wing, but i did get back quite alot for corners etc.

Not a mention of the team they met in the final. West Ham. Bobby Moore played against the hammers for Fulham in the final. They would have known that West Ham, were in the other semi final.

Bobby Moore was the first to play as center back, full back and deffensive midfield, all by left side generally. a right-footed player, but playing at left side (marking, heading, assisting, performing superb long assists and still scoring some important goals). He was the first and after Him, came Hummels (Dortmund), Vidic (United), P. Maldini (Milan), F. de Boer (Ajax)...

Bobby Moore's son Dean Moore also died young I think at the age of 43 very tragic. Elton John was the chairman of Watford Football Club from about 1976 why didn't he step in to help Bobby Moore? Why did they treat him so badly in football ⚽️ after he retired? It makes no sense.
