    OFFICE SPACE MOVIE REVIEW | 27:42 - 30:21
    Office Space Movie Description:
Corporate drone Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) hates his soul-killing job at software company Initech. While undergoing hypnotherapy, Peter is left in a blissful state when his therapist dies in the middle of their session. He refuses to work overtime, plays games at his desk and unintentionally charms two consultants into putting him on the management fast-track. When Peter's friends learn they're about to be downsized, they hatch a revenge plot against the company inspired by "Superman III."
Office Space is a 1999 American black comedy film written and directed by Mike Judge. It satirizes the work life of a typical mid-to-late-1990s software company, focusing on a handful of individuals weary of their jobs. It stars Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston, Gary Cole, Stephen Root, David Herman, Ajay Naidu, and Diedrich Bader.
Office Space was filmed in Dallas and Austin, Texas. It is based on Judge's Milton cartoon series and was his first foray into live-action filmmaking and his second full-length motion picture release, following Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. His 2009 film Extract is also set in an office and was meant to be a companion piece to Office Space. The film's sympathetic depiction of ordinary information technology workers garnered a cult following within that field, but it also addresses themes familiar to white-collar employees and the workforce in general. It was a box office disappointment, making $12.2 million against a $10 million production budget. But after repeated airings on Comedy Central, it sold well on home video, and has become a cult film.
Several aspects of the film have become Internet memes. A scene where the three main characters systematically destroy a dysfunctional printer has been widely parodied. Swingline introduced a red stapler to its product line after the Milton character used one painted that color in the film.

My boss called me in one morning to talk to me about leaving early. I told her that my work is done why just stand around and have you pay me for it. She said well i just want to make sure your not gonna cut your pay check short. I told her dont worry about me its my money. So the next night i left early again. The morning after she called me in again about leaving early and told me not to do it anymore. So the following night i did all my work and all the work for the next days shift. Then i got in trouble for not leaving any work for the first shift guys. Thats when i realized it was not about the work loads it was about control over the employees.

I've worked for several companies since 2009 as a software engineer and they all had hybrid models and paid roughly the same salaries for the relative level of experience. In fact, when I started my first job in 2009, that company was already behind the curve because they had just started using a hybrid model, and that idea had already been prevalent several years before. A lot of companies definitely want their employees in-person full time because they're blood thirst bastards; however, a lot have also found that they can save money via their real estate savings by taking up less office space as well as the good PR because of the work/life balance when most of their employees are working remote.

At one of my old jobs my boss, a few coworkers and I recreated the printer scene with our old PITA printer, we were the only ones who used it (I was an inspector and the rest were machinist programmers) out of 100+ employees and had no end of problems with it, until our manager surprised us with a new one. So we took 20 pound dead blow sledge hammers to it in the middle of the shop, nobody knew we were gonna do it and the entire shop came to a screeching stop watching us, then it burst into hysterical laughter🤣

Definitely partied like it was 1999.. And, was basically the last part of the Earth to experience it... There is an underlying theme in this movie about making your job something you love. One of my favorite lines was when the question was being asked... "If you have a million dollars what would you do?". When Peter and Lawrence are talking, Peter's reply is... "I would do nothing", Lawrence responds, "Shoot you don't need a million dollar to do that... My cousin sits around the house all day long and doesn't have a dime". (My Quotes are something like that, may not be exact).

This movie vibed with his animated show 'King of the Hill' which is subtle and slow. His other movie 'Idiocracy' vibed more with 'Beavis and Butthead' which was a ludicrous caricature of life.
