Pam Anderson was basically the only person in this entire movie who was let in on the joke ahead of time, even her security didn’t know.
I think the old Jewish couple with the B&B might've been told after the first try just to make it funnier. Like they tried to do it unscripted and it was just a little too boring. Not that they were actors ahead of the filming,but the tour of the house and the meal scene was extra.
The jocks in the rv are also actors. Two of them were in the mindy project & happy endings
@@nicolelush6980 Kinda right, but kinda wrong. 2 of the 3 DID try and sue: Two fraternity brothers, Justin Seay and Christopher Rotunda, were shown in Borat getting drunk with Baron Cohen and making racist and derogatory remarks. After the film was released, they sued the producers for defamation, claiming that they had been told the movie would never premiere in the U.S. and that they’d been tricked into appearing. Their suit was later dismissed in 2007, and although they sought an injunction to keep the film from premiering in DVD, it was also denied.
They may have been "actors" (or, at the time, wanting to be) but they were ashamed and fearful of their futures, as they were not actors, but willing to Play Act, like the B&B couple. And they signed releases. Oops.
The guys became actual actors later, I believe, at least minorly.

The Jewish couple were never in on the joke. Sacha was actually very friendly and polite to them but never broke character.
They ended up seeing the film and they loved it.

I saw this in the theater. The naked wrestling scene ... everyone in the audience was laughing so hard people were in the aisles, people on the floor, it was an experience.
Me and my friend was literally on the floor laughing for a good 5 minutes after that one

The beauty of Sasha's films is the fact that these people ARE real people and genuine reactions 😭😂 he truly is master class when it comes to comedy. Will never stop loving this man hahaha
Many are genuine reactions. Rumor has it the frat guys on the road signed a release, then later regretted their roles, as they had been encouraged to "play up" to their parts (they sued and lost). Pamela Anderson knew about it. So, it's questionable morality on the part of the filmmakers, but damn funny.

Fun Fact: The scene with Pamela Anderson had to be filmed twice, with different people because on the first try nobody jumped to save her.
Also, the fact that a lot of the people didn't know Borat was just a character and that a lot of people in this movie tried to sue Sacha Baron Cohen after it came out was hilarious.

-the 1st driving instructor.
-2 of the Fraternity Brothers in the MobleHome.

And
-Macedonian Romani singer Esma Redžepova, who was one of the only ones who won in any way, over the use of her song in the film w/o her personal knowledge (however, because her agency approved it, so she got 26k pounds instead of the 800k she asked for.

Many were told this a a Documentary that would never air in the US, about Immigration and Intergration into the US. ---

They ARE real people and real reactions. Apparently only Pamela was in on it. The people are real and the cameras were explained away by his cover story when they were openly visible.

The best part about this film is that Sacha Baron Cohen is Jewish and speaks Hebrew, so whenever Borat is speaking "Khazak" he's really speaking Hebrew.
I was crying tears and my stomach hurt when I was watching this movie in the theaters back in the day. 🤣

Yes, I was there when it first came out. In my experience, I think only The Nutty Professor and maybe Scary Movie had more laugher from the audience than this one.

My favorite part is the driving instructor. I think that embodies the true spirit of an American, it sets the tone we all know it's basically like that here. Tolerant and compassionate but there is so much cognitave dissonance in this country where it flows from there creates so many extremes.

The driving instructor was pissed about the movie but I feel like he's easily the most likeable person in it. If anything, it just showed what a good dude he is.
It is unreal how good SBC is at improvising.

People thought he was making a film for Kazakhstan, so the camera being front and center wasn't suspicious. Also, Pamela Anderson WAS in on it, but nobody else there was.

There where like 4 people on the screen who where in on the joke of the movie. Sasha, Pamala Anderson, the guy who plays Azimat, and the lady who plays the New Wife. Apart from that the people they filmed either didn't know it was happening, or thought it was a actual serious foreign documentary being filmed.
They ended up getting sued by a BUNCH of people who where on it. Y'all should watch the second one as well. It's just as funny as this one.

Omg, Borat? This film was shot without a scenario, and almost all people didn`t know that they were being filmed for this movie. After its release, the movie got a lot of lawsuits for it... You should watch the 2012 movie "The Dictator" with the same actor, very funny but not so wild and more professional.
The guy who said there should be slaves sued Borat but lost.

What makes this so funny is that they are actually real people he is pranking to make the movie.

The first Borat movie was as crazy as it was magical. It captured the awkwardness, comedy, and the beauty of different interactions in a great way. and It was more hilarious because nobody knew who Borat was. The second movie was not even close. Some bits were funny but nowhere near the first one. and of course, your reactions had me knee slapping the whole time. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you guys~

I don't know, I laughed really hard at the second one. It wasn't as novel an experience but it was every bit as funny. I guess if you're of certain political persuasions you would not like it.
Cohen was okay in the sequel, but it was the actress that played his daughter that stole the show.

A sequel was released a couple of years ago on Amazon Video. Definitely worth watching if you enjoyed this movie.

Best reaction channel on the whole of YT. Holy shit a real couple, on top of that a real UK couple (the accent is just gold), one is a hot guy (his middle eastern Borat impersonation and his similar looks are spot on), one is a hot girl (dont change this haircut) and the reactions are genuine and honest.
