We missed out on a decade of prime Dave Chappelle because the industry blackballed him. Never forget how they tried to take America's greatest voice from us.
Umm except for the fact that he left on his own..... Somehow history is being rewritten to make him some kind of victim instead of a spoiled celebrity who didn't want to honor the contract he willingly signed and walked away on his own....I mean if you don't mind ignoring every single fact of the situation you could say someone other than Dave was making the calls....
People were so mad about the Netflix special he did but Dave always spits truth and shares wisdom. He’s a master storyteller and incredible philosopher.
Dave Chappelle is so a head of his time. It’s almost incredible how his old shows and interviews are relatable to today’s situations. I have been studying his work and interviews and he always educating us in a way where he blends comedy with facts and futuristic conspiracies that just happen to come true or has some truth to it. Incredible!!!
I just rewatched his Killing them Softly standup and it is incredible how current it still is, he could have released that last week and it would have hit just as good,
What a damn blessing it had to have been to just be there chillin with Dave Chappelle. .. its like there all just hangin out with probably one of the funniest people on the planet just talking. .. this cat is beyond fantastic with silly ..
How did they even have enough tape / memory storage for 4hrs of non stop footage? I'm soooo glad they didn't have the camera run on batteries, otherwise it would have had to cut out haha best set ever !!!!!!
I can't believe I just watched three and a half hours of Dave interacting with the audience. Not only is it funny and entertaining, but time flew by. I'm still amazed I've been watching this for three hours already... And I want more. This is why Dave Chappelle is one of the greats. Thanks Dave

I watch a lot of comedians and there are definitely a lot of good ones, but I haven't laughed as hard as I did watching this one for quite some years

@@radnerak Nah this is just for dummies like myself who like to repeat certain bits from the beginning of the subject/joke if I miss them while I'm listening, I don't think anybody is saying this is a bad thing by putting a list here and saying its roughly done cause Chapelle isn't on a strict topic schedule.
Almost two decades ago, I was at a New York comedy cellar and the surprise guest was Chris rock, and everyone started screaming. He practiced his bit with us a bit and it was lukewarm, but THEN he said he had another surprise and it was Dave Chapelle. Dave did the thing he did here-sat down, lit a cigarette and started telling stories and engaging with the audience. He was light-years funnier than Chris on this night. About half way through it, and by half way I mean an hour and a half in, when we’d been there for FOUR HOURS because of the original comedy show, then Chris, THEN Dave, my then partner and I had to get up and go home. Dave yelled out to us, “hey! Where you going???” And my bf said “back to her place.” And Dave goes “awwww yeah.” Everyone laughed. Never forgot it and I didn’t even appreciate then how smart he was because I was just out of school. Dave Chapelle is a treasure and a profoundly deep thinker. Appreciate him forever.
I absolutely love how at the 3 hour mark, he's so connected with the audience... that he just starts to hang out with them, having a good time. this was a special show, and to this day... to say you were at this show is like bragging about a medal.
I'm a hour 19 mins in and you can tell at this time Dave really didn't think it would get any better than this again. Really watch his joke choice, interaction with guests etc. It's beautiful to see how the later years played out.
Only Dave Chappele can walk into a place and consume 4 hours of everybodys time like its nothing. This guys is a comic genius. He just vibed w the whole room for 4 fucking hours straight. Legen is an apt word.
Imagine being able to see one of the greatest of all time comedians, and he's literally down to have conversation with the audience whilst being hilarious.
Even Chappelle made a joke about his place in the world of comedy legends,.... He said "and THATS why they call me 'THE GOAT', Yes, I am THAT good!". Lmao, it was a great delivery too and the crowd lost their mind!!! Lol🤘🤘
We've been blessed to have not one, but three Dave Chappelles in our lifetime... Washington Park busking for change Dave Chappelle Skinny high pitched comedian who made it Dave Chappelle and Raspy, Elder Statesman whose commentary transcends comedy Dave Chappelle. Truly blessed
You're right, but he always hits the mic against himself or something when he cracks himself up, and he cracks up a lot. I can't help it either. I'll crack myself the fuck up.
01:02:45 he said he would leave and two and a half hours later he was still on stage. 😂 He really didn’t want to leave and I’m glad he didn’t. He is a genius.
I've been here before with a headline comedian. Buy tickets for the last show on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday and you might be in your chair for 5 hours. My situation was with Eddie Griffin. He was hilarious from start to finish. But he doesn't have a schedule. Things wait for him as he told us several times. His date would sit in that hotel room until he got there so as long as that audience sat there he wasn't going to leave. He'd meet the sun with us. So if you have a schedule be ready to get recognized if you're one of the first groups to leave in hour three. Or get the early show. But you'll miss some great comedy with that last show.
@@thethrillofpattaya8404 never said best ever. I said best set ever. Considering his fame + fallout + slow reemergence to then witnessing him completely unhinged going off for several hours and simultaneously addressing all the controversy and whatnot. I didn't even look for this; I fell asleep last night, watching comedy compilations, and I woke up at the 30:00 minute mark! I didn't even know this existed. I have seen ALL of his comedy sets.
Some people would say that we have attention deficit disorder in this age, no we don’t, we just like good shit, not bullshit, we will listen to anyone for hours as long as they give us their honest truth with substance and with no intentions but to have a mutual exchange where we all will leave better than we came with no strings attached when we leave, and that’s very hard to find these days, excuse me if I can’t pay attention to manipulation like the others, I guess I have a problem, thanks Dave your our modern day Socrates
What's incredible is that there are about 3 different channels with the same 3 plus hours of this routine and they all have over 5 million views. This one has like 17 million views. Wow Dave's fans are loyal fans and they can watch anything this man does.
🙋I've watched THIS 5+yrs ago, back when it was OVER 4hrs, and the audio was "dice-ie"(the parts that were ACTUALLY AUDIBLE, that is). And it was before the "auto generated caption" software existed 🤓. Which that software alone IS A BLESSING😇in disguise 🥸.
Omg! I was thinking the same thing too!!! And i missed the chance to see him! Im from new york but such a stinking introvert i didnt realize he was here then🤦♀️🥺😭
This type of “show” is a gift to those people, you can’t buy tickets for a show like this unlike specials…This was basically a holy grail show for a private club with Dave, he was funny as hell, making jokes and you got to actually just talk to him and he talked with you! I would have paid 10x a ticket price of one of his specials to be apart of one of these small crowd bullshitting nights…Worth it’s weight in gold and not many people got the privilege…
Those who see this comment (at least 95%) understand that we just caught a gem 💎. Like trying to watch your favorite music artist in the studio. Comedians of his level practice material in comedy clubs and we don’t get to see it. Like this is an even more genuine Dave than we normally see, and I love it. Respect to the 🐐. Shout out to the camera man and the one who posted it.
Couldn’t agree more. Just ran across this and I’m in my “worst time in my live” moment. This is real talk that helps put my shit in perspective. Thank you Dave and thank you to the uploader.
Wow! Never seen this b4! That small crowd was blessed of almost 4hrs of Dave!!!! Can't believe he went on so long!!!! I put this on to laugh my ass off to sleep😂
I like the fact he just sat down did a few jokes and interacted with whoever was there. Must been a huge memorable experience for the establishment and all the people. Dave is fucking great. Hes like the newer George Carlin. Love this guy
It really is; I actually like this better than his actual Netflix/DVD standup specials. It's more off the cuff, more material, and just enjoyably all over the place.
@Mr. Happy There's more NON-PC people than PC. I'm for for respecting others and getting along w/each other, but when it comes to comedy, as long as it's coming from a good place, f**k that. Plus we'd never allow Dave to be canceled.
Dave Chappelle does very good job of demonstrating to me why my lifelong love of stand-up comedy is so important to me. He is extraordinarily intelligent and remarkably witty. He has a really great ability to convey information and still remain accessible. I know I'm picking it apart too much, but he's just funny as hell.
And that’s why Dave has been a menace to cancel culture. He’s literally saving and protecting comedy. Without Dave, comedy would be dull, boring, and rehashed topics by every comedian carefully stepping around the stuff we want to hear.
Nah, your not..... He's a complex genius that take a minute to figure out how to convey his level of quality in stand-up and of being a sincere honorable person. One of the very few people in all of entertainment that I can go on n about his shows and some of the best lines ever... He's crazy smart and learned how to see between the lines and smell out "bs" when the industry or anyone is trying to "bs" him, he don't take NO shit these days! I LOVE Dave Chappelle, his sketch show back in the day literally cured my legit depression at that era during a really bad time in highschool. Watching his show each week and it had me laughing so hard and so often that after a month of shows it pulled me out of a horrible state of mind and taught me that it's ok to laugh at yourself and try to find a funny positive spin onto a dark situation then move on, instead of dwelling on things and forgetting how to just laugh at life and in general...... I can never say enough good things about him as a human being and regarding his body of work, because his work truly saved me from deciding to commit 'self-harm' when I was initially planning on doing that bad idea..... I was 3 months away from that planned moment, and after watching the show for 3-4 weeks it had completely turned around my whole mood about life in general and of myself,.... Cos ALOT of comedy comes from a dark place most of the time, and from that, I learned that you get over things by letting it roll off your shoulders and then make something hilarious about it to laugh at! The God's honest true, Chappelle saved my life. Then I'd realized what a lil bitch boy decision I'd first made actually really was and I vowed to never let myself be that dude again no matter what life throws me! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤. Thank You Dave Chappelle 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@DJHeadrush uh, that’s actually not true lol. Many comedians educate on politics and real world issues while making you laugh. It’s kind of the point.

he's pretty much having an intellectual conversation with crowd while throwing in a little comedy ....its intriguing how well he's able to pull this off...3 plus hrs ...🧐
This is one of my favorite shows and it's not even a special. I like how he interacts with his hecklers and still owns the stage. The show turns into 3 hours of campfire conversation 🔥 with the legend
Dave may have been laughing up there but he was dead serious about how the world is being run and who really runs the show. Dave Chappelle is a genius.
Couple times a year I get to this point I just don't wanna be bothered and I'm tired of people be up at night staring out the window. And this video always comes back up and the laughs and calm I get watching it always brings me down
Dave is the G.O.A.T. There have been comedians that are close as funny as Chappelle, but only a select few have had the insight and intelligence that separates him. Even fewer have done it all while trying to keep an underlying message that is kindhearted and positive. He does this all without compromising his faith beliefs and morals. On top of it all, his comedy isn't watered down by his "morals of the story" it is actually enhanced. Richard Pryor was also a master at this, and was the GOAT, but like Brady surpassed one of his heroes in Joe Montana, Dave has slid past Pryor as the Greatest of all time...
I can’t believe there was ppl getting up and leaving thru out!! I was like, “no way in hell I’d ever leave a show like this!!” Can i ask how much a ticket to one of his shows cost u?? @@buckfuddy5561 this is a really late response for you but I’m actually going to see him and Joe Rogan perform tomorrow in Milwaukee. The tickets range from anywhere between 80 to around 500 dollars if you buy them early. My seats were 300 each and they’re pretty close to the stage, but the only rough thing is the travel. I’m coming from eastern Michigan so the drive is quite far but hopefully worth it
@Jason Coughenour didn’t get baked but enjoyed the hell out of the show. I’d shell out even more money than I did the first time to see it again. Joe Rogan wasn’t there but I wasn’t very bothered by that, instead Donnell Rawlings was there and he killed it. The entire show was awesome, even the opener (who’s name I can’t remember) killed it. Hopefully they’ll be in a city near you soon so you can have a similar experience as I did
@Steven Mays not sure how the hell they’d pull that off but clone or not, the man absolute killed it. Spoke plenty of wise words and kept the audience engaged the entire time. Jokes were on point, advice was on point and crowd interaction was all electric. If his “clone” does a future show near you, I recommend getting tickets.
I was blessed to see Dave Chappelle live once in my life. I actually spoke to him after the show. I treasure that memory and will never forget it. Don't know he kept saying he was "bombing" though. This is by far one of the funniest, most intimate performances I have ever seen. Dave Chappelle's' comedy is masterful, he is a true story-teller, and insightful in his observations.
@@jocelynjohnston8257 if wee talking about exposing the injustice and fuck ups of the corporate america. Then carlin is way ahead of chappel. Although chappel is more funny.
To imply that Carlin is somehow inferior to Dave Chappelle is utterly disrespectful. Ffs, can’t we appreciate our true intellectual treasures like Carlin, Chappelle, etc without being divisive?! Pathetic.
Dave Chappelle is not only the best stand up comedian ever, but the realest too. Also, his parents and Howard University taught him well. Hes's "the man who knew too much.". "You gotta read between the lines..." - Chappelle in "Killin' Them Softly".
Jose Ross and still got “assassinated” and or replaced. Like he said America creates an environment where dissenters are needed and when they come out they’re killed then we celebrate them. Seems now they found a way to do it in a sneaky way where we think the real ones are still speaking to us when in our heart we know. There gone. His cousin went on radio to tell everyone he was gone, that he was dead that his family was cloned and everyone dismissed her as crazy. Now she’s dead. Truth is dangerous in this country and he along with many others sacrificed their lives to wake us up. We should be grateful for these people for they knew what was coming for trying to help us. Those they reached could list the ones who tried to get us the truth but were killed or “cloned” like Eminem, Gucci Mayne, Kanye West, Bernie Mac just to barely name a few. It’s a strange time we’re in right now in America
Nate Shull - Stop making us Americans look even more dumb than other countries already think we are. Your comment would only make sense if his “clone” didn’t come back saying the same shit that he was saying before he was “cloned”. Seems like a huge waste of money and resources to clone a person to have the exact same views. 😒

How amazing would that have been to converse with Dave the philosophist on a taped live performance. Not because I idolize his comedy, but I relate and utilize the subjects he speaks on. He truly is a voice of our generation
Hearing Dave just riffing on shit that was happening in 2009 -pop culture figures, events, the crazy new “iPhone”, makes me feel weirdly nostalgic. This video is like a time capsule to a time that’s not too far gone.

How awesome would this be to go to a comedy show to see Dave Chappelle and end up getting to hang out with him for 4 hours and just shoot the breeze. What a blast! Just sitting here watching the whole thing. I felt like I was there.
Dave is one of the most comfortable -on stage comedians you will ever see... its like he was born there. You see elements of Richard Pryor in his relationship with the audience.
Norm Macdonald had it right. There used to be 500 hundred comics and 10 were funny. Now there are 5000 comics and ten are funny. Dave Chappelle is the best of the best.
This is so epic. If you have ever experienced the NYC comedy scene you would understand that whatever was going on this night was “way out of the norm.” He keeps talking to Sherod who is Sherrod Small who was probably the MC that night. Dave is riffing… i’ve seen him many times… but never like this. It was the height of his fame so they probably just didn’t give an “f”… but seriously just so amazing this was preserved. Dave Chappelle is so a head of his time. It’s almost incredible how his old shows and interviews are relatable to today’s situations.

Plus we'd never allow Dave to be canceled.
Viewing this from the lens of today, 2022… wild to think of how much truth is being said here. And more is coming to light each day
Dave Chappelle does very good job of demonstrating to me why my lifelong love of stand-up comedy is so important to me.

A genius that can make me laugh 😃 I knew he was a star when I saw him for the first time in the movie "The Nutty Professor " , I've watched all of his specials and of course "Chapelle's Show ", I laughed so hard and still laugh today 😆 . I love that he educates while he is entertaining wished for teachers like him .
I love how he talks to his audience and makes them apart of a skit. Such a chill guy man
amazing person he is
You, sir, did not bomb. That’s one of the luckiest audiences in history/the world.❤️🖤
ya mom's So true!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💞
I sooooo wish i was there...I know he'd respond to my goofy self

Dave is a philosopher that just so happens to tell jokes.
Philosophy is a joke.
Vernon Huffman was just sitting here saying I see what he doin he’s a genius comedy is the best communication and the best manipulation
@@ahmeddlimii7070 I respectfully disagree, comedians are just modern day philosophers.
What about George Carlin

How amazing would that have been to converse with Dave the philosophist on a taped live performance. Not because I idolize his comedy, but I relate and utilize the subjects he speaks on. He truly is a voice of our generation
Hearing Dave just riffing on shit that was happening in 2009 -pop culture figures, events, the crazy new “iPhone”, makes me feel weirdly nostalgic. This video is like a time capsule to a time that’s not too far gone.
I feel ya but considering how things have been since the pandemic started, it feels like a lifetime ago.
@@michalis75 Yeah, that's what the first guy was saying. 😆
I agree. It's cool to see where he was back then.
We forget this kind of stuff.
I was a new bride in my first marriage at the time. My dad was still alive. So much S--- was waiting to slufe down the mountain at us and at me personally. It's like 14 years ago now, but feels like Earth or Time Prime for me. Another lifetime.
@@maureenlaneski2802 hopefully things are looking up for you now.
How fortunate can you be to just go to a comedy club to have fun and Dave Chappelle entertains you!!! Priceless 🤩
I enjoy his personal approach of style, it's like a few friends in a livingroom with pizza and beers and just a having a funny insightful conversation! Big fan!!
Everyone should watch this. Dave is a linguist, but down to earth as hell. This is gold.
This is deep ~
"If it is rock music, if it is rap music, if it is whatever music you listen to.
Artists are the truth, you know why because everybody gets information but only artists can interpret information on an emotional and an intellectual level simultaneously. They can make you think and feel about something at the same time
no matter what kind of music it is that is why whenever a society goes through turmoil and the government wants to repress the people
they always go after the artist first, always always always" @3:04:19

Absolutely
This man said he was done and then DID 3 MORE HOURS! what a gift of a human.
Shut up. If he's a gift of a human then what the fuck does that make you??
marlee glenn The only question here is what kind of a human are you?
marlee glenn Well he’s def not a piece of horse shit of a juman like you I’ll tell you that rn
@ feeling a bit angry to see an educated black man? Dave Chappelle is a fucking great human being.
This is the best comic video of all time! And you can tell he's having a great time just being himself without any stress or nerves whatsoever. Luckiest crowd of all time because they got to hear hours of unfiltered, unapologetic real life relevant philosophy that just happened to be absolutely hysterical!
Watching in 2024 and I’m convinced Chappelle can see the future 😂
“I depend on my wife so much that my kids think that I am their brother.” Just priceless comedy!

That is the luckiest comedy club audience of the last 20 years at least
yeah... im jealous as hell
And whoever got to see George Carlin and Bill Hicks last set
well, the love comes from both sides
Slightly_Handy I was in his Brixton audience front row 2015. I was graced by him!
That you know of.
This is a master class in weaving in and out of writtens, improv, and crowd interaction. There are some bits here and there you can tell hes testing out to see if they work but a lot of this is improv. Dave is the greatest.
How awesome would this be to go to a comedy show to see Dave Chappelle and end up getting to hang out with him for 4 hours and just shoot the breeze. What a blast! Just sitting here watching the whole thing. I felt like I was there.
What a privilege to be able to chill with Dave for that long. Just take my money and tell where to sign up.
Right? Funny and chill atmosphere, being right there with an icon and having a great night. Worth every cent.
Joke of it is, he did this set for free from what I know
Dave is one of the most comfortable -on stage comedians you will ever see... its like he was born there. You see elements of Richard Pryor in his relationship with the audience.
Shutup.
@@evotme9995 that's all you got for a two year old comment? Please find a new hobby.
@jamey smith Not in the least...I've seen clips that you'd think otherwise or you need to ketchup...
Norm Macdonald had it right. There used to be 500 hundred comics and 10 were funny. Now there are 5000 comics and ten are funny. Dave Chappelle is the best of the best.
Dave's a genius know other comedian could do what he's done and keep the audience entertained.
Only this guy could make me watch a nearly 4hr show MULTIPLE times 👏🏾👏🏾😂😂
That black lady back there - true sushi
Am I the only one that woke up to this playing all night and you phone is at 1%?
Weird, me too

This is so epic. If you have ever experienced the NYC comedy scene you would understand that whatever was going on this night was “way out of the norm.” He keeps talking to Sherod who is Sherrod Small who was probably the MC that night. Dave is riffing… i’ve seen him many times… but never like this. It was the height of his fame so they probably just didn’t give an “f”… but seriously just so amazing this was preserved. A true comedy genius.
To call this the height of his fame is a clear misunderstanding of where the dude was at in his career…. This is easily towards the lowest he ever was aside from counting the time before he had any success.
