Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story Movie Description:
Average Joe's Gym and its owner, Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn), are both down on their luck. A fancy competing gym called Globo-Gym, run by the maniacal health nut White Goodman (Ben Stiller), is about to put Average Joe's out of business unless Peter can raise $50,000 to keep his mortgage. To save the gym, Peter and a ragtag group of Average Joe's members and employees enter a dodgeball contest with a big cash prize. In response, White forms his own Globo-Gym team to rout the competition.
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (originally titled Dodgeball (2005) and also known as Dodgeball and Dodgeball: The Movie) is a 2004 American sports comedy film written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller.

Did you know this film nearly cost Ben stillers marriage at the time?
One of the funny movie
How
@@HelloMellowXVI I watched a bear grylls episode with Ben stiller watch it and you'll see what I meant
@@HelloMellowXVI Hey man, did you ever watched Interview with the Vampire or Black Hawk Down? If u dont, watch it...
Christine Taylor is Ben Stiller’s wife, which adds another layer of comedy to their interactions.
I forgot they got back together, they were separated for 4 years.
@@tdrewman oh dang i didnt know they got back together. good for them!
I've never been that attracted to actresses or celebrity types. Not my thing. I always thought she was fine growing up though.
"Our skewl"
I had the chance to see her in person about 15 years back. Never seen a more attractive human being in my life. Just breathtaking.
“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”😂😂😂😂😂😂
R.I.P. Rip Torn
"LINE UP LADIES!!"
One the greatest lines ever
@@howsier for my wife, the best line is "you're as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop"
IT'S LIKE WATCHING A BUNCH OF RETARDS TRYING TO HUMP A DOOR HANDLE!
"Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine???"
RIP RIP torn
“It appears that Peter LaFleur has blindfolded himself.”
“Yeah, he will not be able to see very well, Cotton.”
That's my favorite line on this movie!😄🤣
😂 😂 😂
That's right cotton
why is this line so much funnier reading it than seeing and hearing it? lol! i about died when i read it.
I've lost count of how many times I've quoted Jason Bateman in this movie. Hell, everyone in this movie is quotable.
That's an interesting strategy Cotton let's see how it plays out
@@bobbymcbay1586 That line in particular. Too damn funny.
**inserting my own name of course**
I use "Keithy needs new shorts!" AT LEAST 3-4 times a week!
I work as a heavy equipment operator for a site development company so... If I scratch out for a manhole and the laborer gets a perfect reading on the laser without hand work "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!"
If a truck load of crushed stone shows up early "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!"
Find out Monday morning the Developers are off site for the week "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!"
... and so on and so forth hahaha
PS: Pepper Brooks is great but I actually think I quote Jason Bateman's character from Smokin' Aces even more!!
"I'm just a f*****g dog-pile of piss-poor physique on top of a small c**k and hereditary alcoholism... Thanks, God... appreciate it."
I use the "bold move Cotton" quote a lot
Ben Stiller is so stupid in this movie: "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood. NOBODY!" LOL!
That line was in the Simpsons first too. Remember Nelson Muntz saying it
@@blairpenny1526 it was in the Simpsons first
Simpson's did it!
🤣🤣🙏♥️
We still use that line in my Family 😂
"Look at his loser kids too" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Mel's a straight up savage!
I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been for Ben Stiller and his wife to film scenes together and not constantly laugh
"Tomorrow's round where we'll separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys and the awkwardly feminine from the possibly Canadian".
I use “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball” way too much for someone who cannot dodge a wrench or a ball 😂😂😂
I quote the 5 D's more than I probably should 😂
Lol fax I say that so much 💀.
I love saying that still 😂😂
The lasting legacy of this movie to me is that no matter how many Disney characters he voices or starships he flies, Akan Tudyk will always be Steve the Pirate first and foremost in my brain.
For me he is Wash, I remember the first time i saw this going holy crap steve the pirate is wash.
"Sure do love pumpkins, Cotton."
Jason Bateman's finest performance.
I know his role was small, but Jason Bateman is one of my favorite actors. He doesn't need to "try" when it comes to humor and I love it!
Respect to him for this one because usually he plays the deadpan kind of humour roles but pulled these ridiculous lines off perfectly
Didn’t he also voice Nick Wilde from Zootopia?
Keep these comedies coming. Always liked Role Models with Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott. And Justin Long is always great!
Role models is definitely underrated!
Role models rules
I nearly memorized that whole movie when it came out. lol So funny. That one kid talking sh*t all the time steals the show. And of course the Stifmeister. Paul Rudd's dry humor, and his over-the-top humor are the best combination.
Role models is absolute class
@@crimsonknight7011 whats Warhammer?
That scene at the end where Stillers character was complaining about movies today is because the original ending was that White and Globogym wins. The studio forced the director to change it because they didn't want audiences to be upset that the good guys didn't win.
Yup. I think they said the test audiences hated it. But, you know, I think it should have been left. The underdog usual DOEs lose, so, yeah. I like that we can see both endings and decide. 😎 I kinda like the overly happy one myself but understand the original for what it was and don't hate it.
I don't think sad ending fit comedies, only dark comedies sometimes.
You guys really do not understand irony, do you?
I think they could have came up with some creative way the Average Joe's lost but still got the money.
Kinda like Kingpin
(Even though that ending did kind of piss me off)
I won’t lie I was also shocked when I saw how jacked Ben Stiller is.
😳
Edit: Fun fact Justin Long was really getting pelted with those dodge balls in that ball shooter. To the point Vince Vaughn decided to take one too at that speed. And Justin was basically concussed because of it.
Silly little tbi
“I know you You know you , and I know that you know that I know you” 😂😂 this movie is hilarious
🤣🤣🤣
Many say this is a reprisal if Ben Stillers character from the movie "Heavy Weights." Highly recommend it. 90's Kids Camp movie at it's prime.
My fave as a kid. Stiller was even more over the top in that movie.
My good sir thanks for the good memories 🤌
PLEASE PUT YOUR FAT FINGER DOWN!!
Yes!! I came in the comments to say the exact same thing!! One of my favourite movies
“At GloboGym we’re better than you! And we know it.” 🤣
So *THAT'S* where MJF got it from! 😂
"Heavyweights" is a really funny, early Ben Stiller movie
Yeeeah, i forgot about that one
Yes thank you!! Heavyweights all day. It's like the same character Ben Stiller played in Heavyweights lol in dodgeball FAF!!🤣🤣
"I eat success for breakfast.....with skimmed milk 😁"
I always imagined this was the same character.
It would have been so perfect if White Goodman was named Tony Perkis and he got the funding for his gym from his father the Lighting Fixture King
"That's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see how that works out for them" is one of the most quoted lines on the Internet. Pretty much any time somebody does something really stupid.
I literally have never seen anyone say that online... It's usually "effin A cotton" that's popular
The story goes that the reason Justin Long got pummeled so much is because he was the only actor who never flinched til he was hit. I don’t know how he does it, but it’s super impressive.
The "I love the smell of queef in the morning" - line is a reference to "Apocalypse Now" (1979), one of the greatest movies of all time.
This movie has prolly some of the most quotable quotes ever. Been years and I still use “that’s a bold move cotton” regularly haha
The unofficial prequel to this is Heavyweights. Stiller plays the same character .
I just had to let that be known lol
His dad was alive in Heavyweights tho...
Aside Stiller being a goof, Bateman fkn kills it with every line he delivered 😂
Because of this movie we got the Ocho is real life. Every Aug 8th (8/8) one of the ESPNs transforms into ESPN 8 and broadcast obscure and ridiculous competitions like Cornhole, Lawnmower Racing and off course the world series of Dodgeball.
The amount of times my friends and I quote this movie over the last 20 years lol. Never gets old.
When the Lance Armstrong scene goes from being a cameo to becoming one of the funniest scenes in the movie😂
Actually it hasn't aged well at all since he later turned out to be a cheater and had his medals revoked
@fairmonkey4786 that's why it's funny just because of the irony
I’m so happy you reacted to this movie. It’s an unexpected gem. If you haven’t seen Zoolander, you MUST do a reaction to it!
Cinematic gold!
"If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball" and "if you can dodge traffic you can dodge a ball" are some of my favorite lines to use 😂.
19:49 "Oh, I don't think I'm a lot dumber than you thought that I think that I thought I was once."
*Huh?* That was hilarious
"Yeah, he will not be able to see very well, Cotton."
Ben stiller is so funny in this movie, you should do a reaction to Meet the Parents with Ben Stiller and Robert Deniro,it is as well hilarious
Despite dodgeball often being portrayed as having no real rules, it does actually have some. A couple variations include being able to block incoming balls with another ball and catching rebounds before the ball hits the ground becomes a save on your side as well as an out for the person that threw the ball.
This, Tropic Thunder, and Zoolander are some of Ben Stiller's best work. I highly recommend you watch the last one.
I don't think there was ever a moment I didn't stop laughing at this movie
I loved this dumb movie when I was a kid. Fifteen years later, I still chuckle when I think about Blade, Laser, and Blazer.
Best part of the week man. Your personality is dope. Keep em coming!
Steven Root has done both dramatic and comedic roles. I remember him in Ghost. He also was on King of the Hill.
24:20 Speaking of cameos, the guitar riff was indeed Tom Morello of RATM; track is called "Face Off".
I love the part where she slams White's face into the door post. If you look at the post afterwards, you can see that she REALLY slammed his face into it leaving some of his makeup on it. Especially funny when you realize that the actress is Ben Stillers real life wife.
This movie introduced me to the brilliance of Justin Long. If you've ever watched his outtakes on this, you'll see it too
"Remember the titans" based on a true story. High school football in the early 70s two schools forced to integrate. Stars Denzel Washington as the head coach. Its a MUST watch if you haven't seen it yet.
Ben Stiller was on fire during this period...
Zoolander, Dodgeball, Starsky and Hutch, Meet the Fockers, Tropic Thunder.
i would highly recommend Heavyweights its another great Ben Stiller comedy
I think that was his first big role.
You do know that ben stiller is married to the girl in this movie? Knowing that just makes watching this movie even more enjoyable. This is one of the funniest movies ever. It will always be a great watch.
He was
See you wearing that CM Punk shirt after that fucking amazing debut the other day.
In the past few years, ESPN 2 has made August 8th or someday close (for instance, this year it was on August 6 and 7) a day where the "OCHO" shows all sorts of weird and obscure sports. Some examples are dodge juggling, rock skipping, chess boxing, marble racing, Tetris competitions, air guituar, foosball, and frisbee golf.
If you like Ben Stiller in this, you gotta check out Heavyweights. He plays almost the same character, health guru and everything, as he takes over a fat camp for teenage boys. Not quite as raunchy as Dodgeball but definitely a fun movie!
That has john candy in it right?
Its crazy the alternate ending is actually Globo gym winning when White hits Peter but him stepping over the line never happened and basically rolls credits after showing them celebrating
Sorry but nobody beats Zoolander 🤣🤣 . Now THAT is a genius little performance from Ben Stiller along with Owen Wilson and Will Ferell. ☝️👍
I concur...seen Z at least 50 times....better ea time
Something interesting about the the end credit when Ben’s character talks about the good guy winning and people wanting to be entertained. In the original ending planned and the ending shown to sample audiences, The Average Joe’s actually did lose. Like many movies after, the ending was changed because people in those sample audiences disliked the ending as it was shown.
Jason Bateman and Gary Cole as the announcers steal the whole show lol
Stephen Root has been in things since the late 80s. I've always known him from his voice (Bill Dauterive from King of the Hill).
He's great in the Man in the High Castle, Boardwalk Empire, and the only sitcom I can stand News Radio.
And Office Space as Mello noted.
@@cobbycaputo3332 thats just one of those things that people should know lol
The first thing I saw Stephen Root was in Newsradio where he played Jimmy James of Jimmy James Incorporated, a man so nice they named him twice. Also that girl from the Brady Bunch is Ben Stiller's wife and I know her as that girl from Hey Dude
When you're feeling stressed during the day, ya gotta get Melloooooooooooow!
AWOO!!
“No one makes me bleed my own blood, no one” is possibly my favorite other line from a comedy movie. I can’t say it or watch it without laughing
This movie is hilarious. Grandma's boy is as well.
No, Grandma’s Boy is horrible
@@monkeyballs512 K but you wrong doe. And that brings me to Undercover Brother. Another movie he should watch. And then, in that same vein, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, and Black Dynamite.
"Donde Esta La Biblioteca"
19:25
Now i understand where Deadpool got that sentence from
Stephen Root, the one that got angry, plays Bill's voice in King of the Hill. All I see when he does his lines is Bill Dauterive, xD
I still remember hearing that the reason Justin Longs character was constantly on the bad end of abuse from getting hit is that out of the entire cast he was the only one who was able to control the reflex of flinching well after being hit in the face multiple times.
You need to see a movie called heavyweights, Ben stiller is freaking hilarious being a fat camp counselor.
THIS! This video brought absolute delight!! Loved seeing this through your eyes and hearing your laughter. Absolute perfection. Thanks, Mello :D
Fun fact the actress that plays Fran with the unibrow, is the same person who played in Galaxy Quest, the mom in Soul Plane and many other films.
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Best line in the movie.
I literally quote Patches on the daily. "You're about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop" You couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat" Speaking of Patches, Hank Azaria is probably one of the most underrated actors in the biz. I can't hear his voice without thinking of the Simpsons... Not to mention his comedy performance in Along Came Polly
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." I tell my kids that and they have no idea what I mean. Till they get jacked with a wrench. Then we have ice cream from the ER cafeteria. Ahhh, the joys of parenting.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This dude Ben Stiller shows up at her house dressed like Fred from fucking Scooby Doo lmfaaaaaooooooooo.
Ben Stiller’s character of White Goodman is actually him bringing back a character from a Disney movie he was in called “Heavyweights” which I highly recommend.
This movie hit my funny bone! Everybody seems like they're having a blast with their buddies, and I loved watching you enjoying it too!
Fun fact. The big cheerleader girl is the girl from Nikelodeons ALL THAT. She was one of the stars.
All of the times White snaps his fingers and Mechel just shows up, tho! My favorite is the motor skooter out of nowhere!
Two uploads today truly blessing us, this movie man..amazing, pirate Steve is my spirit animal
Just as I was getting bored of RUclips :)
Check out his battle royals reaction! I’ll see you over there!
Still better than Netflix
You should totally check out “Waiting...” next 😂
I USED TO HAVE THIS CD AND IT WAS A TRADITION FOR OUR FAMILY TO SIT DOWN AND WATCH THIS EVERY SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Such a fun movie, I laughed all the way through. Not to mention all the cameos and dialogue which made the movie such a classic.
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood" I say that line every time I go to give blood and nobody gets it.
What’s wrong with people?
Many good lines, that is in the top 3
"Cram it up your cramhole LaFleur" is my go-to random comeback
My favorite random fact from this is that ESPN turned 'ESPN 8: The Ocho' into a real network and it does in fact show dodgeball.
The way he pulls up on the scooter as soon as he snaps his fingers is just so incredible
I worked at Best Buy when this came out on DVD and remember they came with a free headband.
I want that headband, now...
The 5 D's of Dodgeball are what got me to be very good at it back in high school lol. Also I really love this movie lol.
_HILARIOUS_ movie. Loved your reaction. 😂
You should check out HeavyWeights lol. It's another Ben Stiller classic bud. Keep up the good work.
I watched this movie again for the UMPTEENTH TIME and you showed in my timeline. You have a NEW SUBSCRIBER here! I appreciate how you let the movie FLOW without bunches of interferences that last minutes. 👍 I can't get enough of this movie! Just like Friday.
"Ouchtown! Population you, bro!" 😂
18:30 I love that he got racked, right in front of the Lumber Liquidators ad.
this is my favourite comedy of all-time, ben stiller is hysterical
That 1v5 comeback scene always gets me hyped lol. Probably my favourite part of the film!
You need to watch Heavyweights to see the proto-character of Ben Stiller's character
Once a year (I believe it's the 4th of July, or right around it), ESPN does actually broadcast "ESPN 8: The Ocho", and it has all sorts of lesser known sports and competitions. This movie was the inspiration for them doing it. It started in 2017, and still continues every year.
I am sooo excited for this! 😆
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood" lol, so many quotable lines
Great review!!!
I’ve never seen this one, but you just inspired me to watch it. This was hilarious 🤣
“Nobody makes me bleed my own blood” is my favorite quote. You should watch Roadhouse classic 80’s movie
Awesome! Your reactions are HILARIOUS!! Great flick!
One of my favourite "go back to" films ever!!
