Uvalde Shooting Victim's Mom Reflects on Year Since Her Death

- Tess Mata was only 10 years old when she became a casualty of gun violence. On May 24, 2022, Tess and 20 others were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Her mother, Veronica Mata, passes a mural of her daughter as she drives to a school where she teaches kindergarten. In her classroom, Mata says she wonders how she could keep the children around her safe if ever she was placed in the same situation her daughter faced.

I feel so sorry for all those who lost their lives in the Uvalde shooting. I also feel sorry for their parents as no parent should ever have to go through with something as tragic as this. The fact that she goes to see her daughter though and she has to see her as mural on a wall or cemetery is just heartbreaking.

The most frustrating part of the whole tragedy in Uvalde is that only Arredondo was fired none of the other 400+ law-enforcement personnel who coward in the hallway for 70 minutes while those children and their teachers were murdered have been held accountable civilly or criminally and to my knowledge most still have their jobs

Exactly. I even remember that female cop saying if her own kids were in there she wouldn't be standing around in the hallway. If they aren't prepared to do their duty why did they ever bother becoming officers?
@@ticklemebreathless1394 Yes... exactly! and I even remember a guy on a youtube wearing a police tactical halloween costume saying if he were there at Robb Elementary on that day, he would have disobeyed a direct order to "stand down" from his commanding officer, risked children's lives, assaulted his own fellow officers to get into the classroom, risked jail time, risked his career, killed the gunmen with a single gunshot to the head and saved 21 lives. There's about a 1000 more red blooded youtube viewers who said the exact same thing, the only problem is.... NOBODY DID A GAH DAMN THING TO SUPPORT THEIR COMMUNITIES TO PREVENT THIS TRAGIC EVENT FROM HAPPENING BEFORE THE 911 CALL. Everyone sat in their recliner chairs waiting a whole year just to make a should have, would have, could have comment. Anyone can make a youtube video wearing tactical underwear,, looking at themselves in the mirror, while pretending to be Rambo, but it takes real courage and guts to look deep into our souls and ask ourselves... is ACTIVE SHOOTERS WHO TARGET CHILDREN A REAL PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES CITIZEN SUPPORT? and should we be trying to stop this before the 911 call, and before the bloodshed. As apposed to waiting around to see if officers can take down the threat. Kids don't go to school to be your personal lab rats, they don't go to school to be accidently mutilated by 376 cops, they go to school to learn. Stop waiting to make a comment every time a child is murdered. Support your community now to prevent this from happening again. God bless our children.

Not only did mom lose her daughter but she’s a teacher herself and has that fear that this can happen to her and her kids in her class. Why is this still happening? Why do parents and teachers have to worry about their safety at school? Most of these mass shooters got these damn assault weapons legally with histories rife with red flags.
Because lawmakers aren't doing enough. They've NEVER done enough to keep us safe

@@Kodakicyy also Astros did not benefit much from cheating, they only cheated during home games and in 2017 they won more road games than games at home, Astros won that 11 inning game 2 vs LAD on the road, and Darvish tipped his pitches in game 7, and what was a road game too

@@PonyBoy1776 Of the 376 LEOs that rushed to the school shooting, 227 were local and state officers. 149 were with the US Border Patrol. If Gov Abbott and his director of Dept of Public Safety, Steve McCraw wanted a real honest and transparent investigation, people would see signs of that in the last year. You would think that they would want to know how almost 400 LEOs from around 15 agencies could have performed so badly. You know, because most people would not want it to happen again. Abbott and McCraw would love for the families to stop talking about it, so they can sweep it under the rug faster.
