Amerie was such a beautiful little girl. Her parents only child. My heart hurts so bad for her parents. I know from personal experience, as many of us do, that having somebody close to you just disappear in a moment is the hardest thing to go through, and so hard to understand. This is infuriating. This little girl deserves to have her birthday at the pool, she deserves to go on the fifth grade. She deserves her life back.

Lived next to a lady almost my whole life she lost her son to gun violence hearing her cry’s in the night was heartbreaking 💔 I feel for all of these parents. In our hearts and prayers 💔❤️🧡
I have a neighbor who lost her son to a drive by shooting. He was not gang affiliated. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. This kid was a football star and he volunteered his time to tutor special needs kids. He was killed 3 years ago and his mother still has frequent breakdowns. She has been hospitalized twice due to fear of her harming herself. I have never known such deep pain and I hope I never have to. My heart goes out to the families who lose their children to violence.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I work in daycare and the thought that someone could just end the life of such precious little children is so utterly insane. I have given my daycare kids extra hugs this week. No parent should have to worry about the safety of their child at home/ daycare. My heart feels shattered.
How about teaching them about how to possibly save their lives in a situation like this? Hugs are beautiful wonderful & very reassuring but teaching about how to react I believe would be much more useful.

What broke me is that he didn’t see his daughter come out but he was still trying to comfort the other little children. He knew she might not be coming out but that he still had to help the little kids. Such a good heart. So tragic.

Oh my god, she wanted to leave school early and her mom said no. That grandparent is holding onto that it seems and I bet she is silent due to the constant replays in her head wondering what if I did this differently. My mom always let me leave early on the last school days but tried to encourage me to stay. Obviously this isn’t her fault but I can’t imagine what’s going through her head.

This broke my heart. But I burst into tears when they said they were going to buy her Quinceañera dress to honor her. My daughter just bought hers and we are celebrating her Quinceañera this October and I could not imagine my life with out her!! I can imagine it. That's why if I ever had kids I would never, ever, submit my kids to public schooling. Between bullies, mass shooters, inept teachers, perverts ect it's just not worth it for the sake of a child to have "the human social experience." There's nothing wrong with homeschooling. I never learned anything beyond 3rd grade in school that was ever put to any practical use in my every day life, everything else is self taught through experience. I mean you gotta figure you have to count on ALL the parents not to abuse their kids, for your child not to be exposed to "a bad apple" that will rub off on YOUR child influencing them toward delinquency, and that an unvetted teacher wont perv on them, and that you just "get lucky" that your kid wont be the 1 in 100,00 that dies to a mass shooting, or the 1 in 3 students that gets bullied.

I have a neighbor who lost her son to a drive by shooting. He was not gang affiliated. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. This kid was a football star and he volunteered his time to tutor special needs kids. He was killed 3 years ago and his mother still has frequent breakdowns. She has been hospitalized twice due to fear of her harming herself. I have never known such deep pain and I hope I never have to. My heart goes out to the families who lose their children to violence.

My heart goes out to all of those families that lost their baby. This literally brought tears to my eyes, I was crying with that little baby's father. May they one day find some sort of peace. God bless.
