What broke me is that he didn’t see his daughter come out but he was still trying to comfort the other little children. He knew she might not be coming out but that he still had to help the little kids. Such a good heart. So tragic.
Exactly ,he was completely selfless,he is a unrecognized hero.Cares for the kids equally with love & helped carefor others still ,he has a heart of gold. He did way more than those selfish cops and who failed those families and children,and left them defenseless to die.

“She wanted to be a cheerleader and was already planning her quinceañera - 5 years away.” These were children. Babies with a whole life ahead of them, dreams and aspirations. My heart goes out to all of the grieving families and friends. I have a younger sister and brother. Both so full of life. They mean everything to me. It would break me to lose them. Happy birthday to Eli, she would’ve been 10 years old today. June 4th. It’s just so sad how her and the other childrens lives been taken so suddenly. Poor babies. No one and their family should worry about their kids bein in danger in school.

It's super sad because the comment you're referencing was the grandfather speaking about his daughter's decision to keep the child in school. Blaming yourself is one thing, anyone who loses someone is going to blame themselves or wonder if there was something they could of done to some extent; but to have others blame you I couldn't even imagine. I loved Ramen noodles as a kid too I couldnt watch this video all the way through i just started crying seeing the grief these parents are going through

Oh my god, she wanted to leave school early and her mom said no. That grandparent is holding onto that it seems and I bet she is silent due to the constant replays in her head wondering what if I did this differently. My mom always let me leave early on the last school days but tried to encourage me to stay. Obviously this isn’t her fault but I can’t imagine what’s going through her head.

I cannot even imagine being a child and going through this terrifying attack. To be a parent, waiting for hours to find out whether or not my own child was hurt or even killed would be far too overwhelming. There are just no words. I send my whole heart out to these families.

My school is open the entire week 15h a day and we never had a shooting, worst thing that happened in 60years ist that kids broke in and had a party. But we also don’t have guns in Germany.
I know Ellie’s mom is feelings not only grief but guilt….. like the grandfather said, Ellie wanted to stay home but mom insisted she’d go. This is so sad, I hope she understands one day that none of this is her fault at all.

She always asks me to cook her Ramen noodles regardless of what's in the pantry. This just breaks my heart man. There's no form of love that can compare to the love one has for their child. As a single male with no kids this still breaks my heart into a million pieces. I cannot imagine losing a child, especially to a gunman on a rampage with the intention of causing bloodshed.

I can imagine it. That's why if I ever had kids I would never, ever, submit my kids to public schooling. Between bullies, mass shooters, inept teachers, perverts ect it's just not worth it for the sake of a child to have "the human social experience." There's nothing wrong with homeschooling. I never learned anything beyond 3rd grade in school that was ever put to any practical use in my every day life, everything else is self taught through experience. I mean you gotta figure you have to count on ALL the parents not to abuse their kids, for your child not to be exposed to "a bad apple" that will rub off on YOUR child influencing them toward delinquency, and that an unvetted teacher wont perv on them, and that you just "get lucky" that your kid wont be the 1 in 100,00 that dies to a mass shooting, or the 1 in 3 students that gets bullied.

Amerie was such a beautiful little girl. Her parents only child. My heart hurts so bad for her parents. I know from personal experience, as many of us do, that having somebody close to you just disappear in a moment is the hardest thing to go through, and so hard to understand. This is infuriating. This little girl deserves to have her birthday at the pool, she deserves to go on the fifth grade. She deserves her life back.
