@@michele33s68 Then don't believe her. Plenty of Black people on RUclips with waist length hair. Hell my youngest daughter has hair that almost touches her butt and we are Black mixed with Black. My eldest daughter hair is past bra strap length and I just did a big chop out of locks. Its 2020, lose that 'Black People hair can't grow long' mentally.
I say this all the time on my RUclips channel you have to go back to basics I just started back using hair grease and it does keep my hair soft and moisturize it really does it's a great sealant I love it👍
I used blue magic once and it made my scalp crack and bleed, my hair gummed together but was still dry and fragile, patches of it fell out where my scalp had gone scabby and it burned like hell. I only use coconut oil now. Hair has gone from shoulder length to 26 inches at the longest point.
Most people don’t know HOW to use grease. Its mostly used as a sealant and if you don’t use water, and a moisturizer or leave in conditioner BEFORE putting the grease on your hair (a little bit). Then duuuuuu its going to make your hair dry. 🙄
I have to say that my generation, born in the 60s, used grease differently. My mom used Suave shampoo & conditioner (rinsed out), then greased the scalp (thin layer) and hair; styled in braids, plaits, twists, ponytails or buns, then air dried....that's it. We greased the scalp, brushed the grease down our stands and added more grease to the hair, only if needed. We didn't do deep treatments or leave-ins either, and hair stayed moisturized between washes, every 2 weeks. The water and conditioner hydrated the hair, and the grease helped to condition the scalp and hair along with keeping the moisture in. We didn't struggle to get it out either, doing 2 washes. You have to use a sulfate shampoo, or Dr. Bronners Castile Soap to wash the scalp and hair clean. I noticed that people are using way more grease in their hair than we did. I still have a lot of healthy waist length hair, which would be longer if I didn't cut a lot. I went natural again in my 40s and became a product junkie(smh). Now I'm ready to reintroduce conditioning hair dressers and grease again to see how my hair reacts. Natural products are so expensive. Peace and Blessings!
Catherine Butler Personally i don’t use grease because you have to use a strong sulfate shampoo to get it out of your hair and I’ve had some bad skin reactions to shampoos with strong sulfates.
@@leospicegirl on the scalp and she never washed it out every week , my mom would braid our hair once a months and yes I had allot of dirt and dust build up weirdly when she took my hair down but she'd take it down and wash it and rebraid my hair putting grease on my scalp and throughout the hair .
I haven’t used grease since 2006 and my hair is still pretty long. Hair grease is just gross. Like, would you rather have greasy hair or non-greasy hair that still look and feel nice ? 🤷🏽♀️
because he's just leaving his hair in braids and not doing anything with it. males can get away with braids in their hair while females usually wear other styles. leaving your hair alone makes it easier to retain length, which is why you might think it's easier for males to grow their hair out.
Grew up with a Single father and he used Hair Grease for a time, but we decided to stop because it was giving me HORRIBLE acne that wasn't going away even with dermatologist-recommended ointments. Although I don't think the grease was working as effectively in my hair as it should've simply for the fact that back in the day. Hair Relaxers were also popular and it wasn't until around 2014 or 2013 when black people started realizing just how horrible that shit is for your hair. We were using the grease, but the relaxers just flat out ruined the structure of my hair strands so it probably didn't help at all. Now, as an adult I have more freedom to do what I want with my hair and I've been natural for about 4-5 years now. I've still had issues retaining length (as Hair relaxers have damaged my scalp so much that some sides just don't grow at all and remain forever dry) and issues with dandruff so hopefully going back to hair grease and strong use of protective styles will remedy this. I'm super excited!
Bruh when I posted that I was being so serious I wasn’t even trying to be funny once you put it on your scalp some how your whole body end up looking like chicken grease
Wow,, you are so talented! I wish I could braid my hair like that. 😌 I am going back to old school products. The only way to remove grease is using a clarifying shampoo with sulfates.
I agree. Nothing seals like grease, imo. Not even castor oil. I did test sections on my head. Jbco vs. Blue Magic green and grease won by a landslide. No shade to JBCO though I still really like it but as far as longevity grease wins. I don't want to be reapplying anything to my hair every 2 days.
Omg I needed this!! My bald headed sister kept telling me to use grease and I was like “Nooo I’m natural, only oils!” Now I’m the bald sister and her hair is longer than mines. 😭
A lot of people are SHOCKED how well "hair grease" works on their hair! Why?! that is what older people like me (age 51), my mother, grandmothers, and aunts used for decades! Sometimes the old tried and true works best.
When I started my journey i think i damaged my hair unnecessarily by trying to follow all these trends. I went back to leave in conditioner and grease and my has grown a lot! Thanks for bringing us back to basics!!
That's all I use too. Water, a good leave-in moisturizing conditner and seal all that in with grease. Hair stay moisturize the whole week. It works better then any oil and hair lotion I used in the past. But when the weather get colder I'm going have to switch to some tpy9w of heavy cream.
PSA: When oiling your scalp and putting it in your hair, USE A SMALL AMOUNT...don't gob it on like oil moisturizer, it will be hard to remove when washing. Also tie your head up with a satin or silk scarf to protect your pillows.
Ros, Castor oil/Jamaican black castor oil helped my dry scalp and might encourage hair growth. Coconut oil is good for dry scalps too. Some people also use vitamin e oil which (I think, correct me if I’m wrong) strengthens the hair. You can also add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to a carrier oil(things like coconut oil, olive oil etc) to promote hair growth since peppermint oil attracts blood to the applied area, increasing blood flow and in turn promoting hair growth. Always dilute essential oils at a concentration of no more than 5%
Funny enough I was using “natural oils” to help with my dandruff. I started using blue magic and INSTANTLY I could feel my scalp say thank you. Unknowingly my hair grow thicker. It works
Growing up, I always used grease (or hair food, as we all it here in Kenya). Then one day as I was going through YT natural hair channels, I realized that natural hair rules had changed, and grease was forbidden, so I stopped. Immediately, I noticed that my hair had a sand-like feeling, and discovered that I was having a SEVERE case of single strand knots, something I had never experienced before. I am back to using my grease, only that this time I apply a lot of water before I seal it all in with the grease. I no longer have the knots, and my hair is back to its previous healthy form.
My daughter is half black and Hispanic and because she is biracial, I still would use grease on her hair. When she got older and started listening to her friends..she stopped using grease. Needless to say her hair started breaking off and falling out. But I Thank God she started back using it. Now her hair is back to thriving ya'll. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! Don't rock the Boat listening to these natural hair Guru's. Do what works for you
I still use that stuff, and then use the grease to seal it all in. Girl, my hair has never been better. I'm sticking to grease. Like this is it for me. 🤗
Melanie V yes , but its harder to catch. Its great for breading children's hair and ponytails but not for hair that you want flowing needs something like olive oil, etc. Im a licensed cosmetologist and know about many products there aren't too many I haven't used.
Me too. Somerimes.i want to say so much but only someone who went to school or study trichology or cosmetology will know grease is a sealer . I been stopped using grease over 7 years ago however I do keep coconut grease for my kids. It works well on my daughter that has 4b hair . I stick to certain oils when I wear my hair out and grease.for.braids.
Hmm, I might have to go back to blue magic real quick. I just use a bunch of different oils in my hair. Honestly never had a problem with grease or pomade but the natural hair movement seemed to vilify it.
Seems like I need to go back to the root of it all, my hair have gotten shorter over the years and when I was younger I had longer hair. Now Im just sitting here sad that its gotten so short to the point I can barely get it into a ponytail now...
Same here... Protein treatment once a month Deep conditions once a week If i have it in cornrows... Wash, condition, heat protection, blowdry, hair grease... lasts for a month in cornrows...
ALLCAPS I don’t blame her. Old school stuff is the best tbh. Trying these new products will make you a product junkie and mess up the balance of your hair.
Blue magic literally saved my hair. Everyone gives me this look whenever they ask bec my hair is mad soft, long, and healthy. "Well ur scalp is gonna get clogged" nah because that's what shampoo is for 😂
Blue magic is sweet magic for my hair!!!! I luv the way it adds moisture to my hair, controlling dandruff/itching. Been using it since 1976 & I'm 50 now. New school have a seat & learn from the old school!
VO5 moisturising shampoo also works very well. I discovered this when I noticed clarifying shampoos dried my scalp so much because they strip out everything. So I tried the moisturising VO5 shampoo and it does the exact same thing as clarifying shampoo but without the stripping.
Yeah, blue magic is real hair magic. It's old school and it works. It's always worked. When I stopped perming my hair I tried all those new products that have come out and for a while I was really struggling with my hair, couldn't figure out how my mom could grow my hair down to my back but I couldn't get it to my shoulders. I went back to Blue Magic and no more problems. I grease my scalp weakly and the ends of my hair after making sure my hair is moisturized. It really helps retain length.
Same sis same. My hair suffered trying different styles and products in the beginning of my journey. Now I just use my favorite moisturizer, grease and twist my hair, weekly scalp grease and moisturize my hair and Chile my hair has come back to life.
My childhood grease was B&B. I haven't used it in years and my hair is way in my back. Leave in conditioner every couple of days do it for me. I do put oil on my scalp.
@@mayralyn sis your so wrong. if you think grease stops hair growth your very wrong. do research before you comment. grease SEALS moisture and makes your hair GROW. try watching more videos about it. and when you put grease on your scalp it basically does what sebum and coats the scalp. ask more questions if your curious about hair grease ;P
We used to wet our hair, soften/melt about a tsp of grease - sometimes mix in coconut oil (summer) and/or castor oil (winter), lightly coat the scalp/top third and ends, comb & brush it through the entire length and plait/twist/braid it up for the week......everybody was Rapunzel growing up! 🤣😂
What else you use with it? What length ypur hair was before tpu start using it? i have that one too. But been using their new blue magic grease they have call olive oil. It good too but castor oil one really my favorite one it seem to really grow my hair fast. TheFactsAccordingToGabbie1791 I use Shea moisture leave in castor oil conditioner, then I add my blue magic . It was just barley at my shoulders before I started using it
My great aunt use to keep blue magic in the fridge and when it was time to moisturize our scalp it felt sooo good going on and our hair grew long, thick and healthy.
HEAVEN I think she did that so it could last, I bought some a while back and kept it under the sink about a month later I open it and it had black stuff on it(I think it was mold) but from then on out I kept it in the fridge and now I don’t have that issue.
@@lyrical_love yes. You put your leave in before the hair grease. It's really thick and if you try to put on any product after applying the blue magic, the product will just sit on the hair strand and won't do anything.
@joanne jones yes only a little each section is what I do. Sometimes you have to add more and comb through the section to distribute the product evenly and define the curls before manipulating it's shape into a braid or twist
My braids out be so bouncy .. but my scalp dry af. I think it's because I been using a clarifying V05 shampoo and they cheap conditioner. Lol switching from Garnier and treseme products.
@@katrina1694 always remember to oil your scalp after rinsing it with water, shampooing it or conditioning it. Its the same as if you took a shower or washed your face and didn't put lotion on it afterwards. Ashy and dry af lol. Trust me I've been there 😂. Try using castor oil after shampooing and conditioning. And put it DIRECTLY on your scalp in sections. If you have high density you need to put it in sections so you're actually oiling all of your scalp.
Will, when I was a child I wanted a chemistry set, Mom said no. She thought I would blow up the house. Well I continued to play chemist mixing things in the kitchen and in my craft room. Back in 2015 I started mixing my own treatment for my hair to give me shine and definition. This is what I came up with. I put Shea butter in my microwave for a few min or so. Let that cool down but, still liquid. Put the melted Shea in a Glass bowl then added a little at a time of African Pride, Shea Miracle, Leave in Conditioner. I then mixed this concoction with a electric hand mixer till it was light and fluffy. Placed the mixture in small containers and stored it in the refrigerator till I needed some. Let me tell you oiling my scalp and hair with that cool mixture was so enjoyable. I still make it to this day. This mixture is light and adds moisture to hair and because of the light weight it washes out with no problem. P.S. I applied it to freshly washed damp hair. P.P.S I'm 69 this year so you know I have been through several hair styles and treatments over the years, I have tried it all. Natural hair styling is my favorite. Grease is the be all, end all in my opinion. I hopped on that natural bandwagon for a smooth year or two, and my waist length hair went bye byes 👋🏼. Single strand knots, always dry, flakes all over my scalp, it was nuts. Got back to using my Indian hemp oil, $2.49 at Walmart, and voila! Hair was back like it never left. Ends look great, hair is thick, and my scalp is no longer peeling and getting yellow scales all over it. Aloe vera juice or water, followed by grease, is all I use now and I shall not stray. Oh and black castor oil on them edges, Thanks for making a video on this! As always, your videos are superb!
EXACTLY THAT WHY HAPPENED TO ME waist length my whole life listen to you tubers to stop grease flacking bad itchiness thick scaby flakes shedding once I greased my hair growing back fast asf

Id rather spend what $5 on grease than $15 on just 1 product!!! Old school is best my hair was all the way to my butt when i was a kid thats what my ma used, ima stick to it.
I tried the natural oil trend for like a year and my hair just never felt moisturized, so i went back to my mamas method blue magic indian hemp grease and my hair is thicker den a snicker and almost waist length, thas the problem wit folks always running to jump on the bandwagon of other people's opinions instead of doing what worked for them as kids even into adulthood, I admit i was briefly guilty of that but I raaaan back to my greasy roots and my hair has thrived, If I hadnt went back to grease and continued wit essential oils I would probably still be at APL smh
@@sheilabrown3597 honestly they are both great sealants, I just prefer the indian hemp because of the herbal extracts it offers as well...basically all I do is wash and deep condition my hair every weekend on a sat , put a small amount of any moisurizer from the root of my hair down the shaft then go back over each section with a small amount of grease from root to shaft , twist it up put my bonnet on, I do this once a week and it retains length like crazy, now if u want to oil your actual scalp use an essential oil like coconut, grapeseed, rosemary , castor etc.. Whatever u like...i do that step as well to the scalp only
@@urbanhennabyherlymer4512 its your choice but i choose to use it only as a sealant because it locks in moisture and keeps those ends in tact, the scalp on its own produces a natural oil called sebum and does not really need a extra petroleum product to clog it ...but I will suggest if u do decide to use it on your scalp as well, use it very lighly because too much can be clogging to the pores
OKAYYYYYY I'm gonna need you to braid my hair, Will!!! 😁 BTW... use Clarifying Shampoo to wash out that grease build-up, then follow-up with a good Moisturizing conditioner... Then use your FAVE moisturizer, then seal with the Grease 😉 *Tda's Confession: Dax & BM are my Friend* ❤
I think that's why ppl go wrong with grease and dont like it. It's literally a force field of protection, nothing coming in or out like he said.. that's why when we we younger, well my mom did, she would always dipped a brush in warm water mixed with conditioner and then applied the grease. Hair was soft for days. I still do something similar. I even use that brown gel from ampro styler
I grew up using grease, then i remember when pink oil moisturizer came out, started using that too! My hair was the healthiest and it didnt need much. Used to grease my SCALP on a regular basis and it WORKED great! Never had dandruff or an itchy scalp. Tip: if you grease your scalp, you dont even need to put much grease on the actual hair...it will spread, through combing, etc
Someone else mentioned this in a different grease video and I never even thought about it but back in the day our mama's used grease all the time AND sulfate shampoos to wash it out. These days we all want sulfate-free cleansers but like you mentioned in this video it took 5 or 6 lathers to get out silk that grease. So yeah if we go back to the basics (blue magic) then guess we gotta go all the way back to whatever old school shampoo you used too
Kimberly Reece yes! I wash my hair with sulfate shampoo then use sulfate free shampoo on the 2nd wash or sulfate shampoo for both washes. I can’t depend on sulfate free shampoo to clean my scalp 😩
Creme of Nature detangling shampoo which they stopped making the original formula because it would’ve put all these other shampoos, hairsprays, conditioners, hair serums, leave-in conditioners, etc..out of business. You only needed that one product which did everything for our hair. Now we have to buy product after product hoping to get the same results...That a $7.99 32 ounce bottle did without the need for anything else which last for months at a time.
Kimberly Reece I wash my hair with Pantene gold shampoo and then wash with Castille liquid peppermint soap to get it squeaky clean from the blue magic build up.
I went back to grease, threw out every oil, pudding, all the mess they said u need for growth, the old school works! Had shelves full of product, no thank u!

I was telling her that I just grease my hair and vraid it in two right now. She responded, "You use grease? Ew. " I just snickered. A few weeks later, I went back to the gas station after coming back from the hair salon (when I used to go) and the female was there. She was just staring at my hair in amazement and in embarrassment. Lol. I just let people talk. I don't have to say anything to prove anything. I have physical receipts 🤣🤣🤣
Getchu some suave rosemary mint shampoo or neutrogena clarifying shampoo. I promise you it'll only take two lathers at most. Follow that bad boy up with some super moisturizing conditioner/ deep conditioner and you'll be set.
Yessss! Grease! I tried way too many of those new products. My natural hair responds so much better to GREASE!! Not spending anymore money on all that expensive stuff that didn’t work!
My short fro is looking like a bomb whole ass wig, ever since I have used started using water leave in conditioner then grease. I am team grease for life now. My hair is growing fast too. 😊
I think you used too much. I have your exact same hair texture and have been using blue magic for years and you only need a LITTLE bit to achieve the same results! If you need that much shampoo to wash it our, you probably overdid it. :)
Or. *Gasp* gotta use a clarifying shampoo or... Sulfates. They just strip everything and nothing to worry about unless you dont add the moisture back afterwards.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking as well Julissa, if it’s possible to find a good clarifying shampoo then he wouldn’t need to run through it as quick but it might still rack up the cost.
I used to spend 50$ on hair products for it to end up looking terrible and frizzy. When I was younger my mom used to use blue magic that really made my 3c curls pop and my hair soft . I started using it again because my dad who has shoulder length hair was using it on his curls and I don’t like buying products lol My hair is the softest it’s been in years.

Exactly right! I scrub/scratch my scalp and just apply it straight to wet hair. I don't dilute it or any of that, but others might need to. If I'm doing it consistently, I only need to so it once, on wash day, but if I don't, I have to do it twice then do the normal shampoo and condition follow up.

I notice more naturals going back to grease. Our ancestors used water and grease and still flourished 👍🏽. Castor oil (after properly moisturizing) works great for me. My tried & true and I always come back to it and olive oil when my hair needs a pick me up through the week. Never had flakes or dry scalp. Doubt you'll see this 😭...but maybe use tea tree oil for the fungus & lavender (to offset the smell & it's antifungal & antibacteral) in water to make a scalp spray..let it sit a few mins then add castor oil on top to seal it in. These ingredients are in my leave in conditioner I make & part of my hair regimen religiously. Grease clogged my pores and is hard to rinse out when I needed to clarify, sometimes smells sour if you dont get it all out or it mixes with sweat 😭 & I got those hard keratin build up bumps around my hairline...before I even went natural. Try the spray with a dab of vegetable glycerin in ir with castor oil for a month and see how it compares to the grease. 🙂
19Honey87 M Our ancestors used natural grease from animal fat, not petroleum (used to make gasoline) or mineral oil (known to clog pores and actually drying to hair).
@@april_dawn true and those who did flourished as well!! But to clarify, I was referring to the late 1800-1900s...like our grand parents, great, and great great grands. Those ancestors (though closer to immediate family so I guess I should have said elders?) They used standard hair grease as well. My grandpa & mom would tell stories about how their grandparents or great grands or other elders used standard hair grease, and sometimes, melted animal fat/crisco/butter, or plain old motor oil/engine grease to slick down their hair and their hair always thrived from that period from the pictures you see. NOT saying it's good to use though lol. I wonder if that's that's why they started adding petrolatum to grease...aka petroleum. Though I know they're different in checmical composition but I wonder if they are derived from the same source because of the hair/engine grease thing they always used to tell me about lol. Personally I prefer castor oil olive oil, and sometimes shea butter when I have it on hand 😆 but I have tried Crisco out of curiosity and it does work LOL more like a moisturizing grease instead of a sealant. Not brave enough to try the hair grease anymore or the motor oil 😆. But our elders would spray their hair with plain old water, plop that grease on and have hair down their backs when they let ot down, or huge fros without all this confusing hair stufd we have now. Hair products today probably just have more chemicals in them now compared to back then, because people are more greedy and adding unnecessary fillers to thin out resources, so I'm not trying to spread misinformation and saying just roll with it. But in the mid to late 1800-1900 they used grease like we did today and their hair still flourished. But the chemicals in grease could be different too. Idk, but it's interesting when you think about it

@Janiya Gowdy it seals in the moisture and holds it. These lighter oils dont work as well for putting a barrier to hold in moisture. Just don't put it in dry hair. Use a leave in and mist with water before putting grease.

I used blue magic once and it made my scalp crack and bleed, my hair gummed together but was still dry and fragile, patches of it fell out where my scalp had gone scabby and it burned like hell. I only use coconut oil now. Hair has gone from shoulder length to 26 inches at the longest point.
Ashley Moore Facts!
@@Umitelikeme true😂
I thought hair grease like blue magic was a leave in conditioner?

I'm super excited!

can someone tell me what kind of oil should I put on my scalp please? 😭

Growing up, I always used grease (or hair food, as we all it here in Kenya). Then one day as I was going through YT natural hair channels, I realized that natural hair rules had changed, and grease was forbidden, so I stopped. Vaseline helps my hair grow really fast
That’s weird I’ve never heard of that before 😭

Im 19 i still use pink lotion & grease lol it makes my hair moisturized. Tbh remember blue magic & pink lotion have been here WAYYY before all these expensive bussin heads open products!! Id rather spend what $5 on grease than $15 on just 1 product!!! Old school is best my hair was all the way to my butt when i was a kid thats what my ma used, ima stick to it.
Oh wow, it's been long since I've encountered pink lotion. Brings back so many childhood memories of the salons I'd go to
@@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces I can still smell it and haven't had any in my head for years
Dìllìe KÒ omg I REMEMBER PINK LOTION! That’s what my mom used on me! Hair longer and thicker than you would believe!!!
@@starb73 saammmeee. I need to go out and find it😭
I had just bought it last week I'm 33 and that's my childhood hair lotion
I tried the natural oil trend for like a year and my hair just never felt moisturized, so i went back to my mamas method blue magic indian hemp grease and my hair is thicker den a snicker and almost waist length, thas the problem wit folks always running to jump on the bandwagon of other people's opinions instead of doing what worked for them as kids even into adulthood, I admit i was briefly guilty of that but I raaaan back to my greasy roots and my hair has thrived, If I hadnt went back to grease and continued wit essential oils I would probably still be at APL smh
What is the difference with the hemp one vs the blue one? I’m trying to decide which to use
Whatever u like...i do that step as well to the scalp only
Facts. I used to hop on natural hair trends instead of developing my own routines/using what worked best for me.
yes beautyizhername so we should not apply the hemp on scalp?? Only but put it as sealant
BTW... use Clarifying Shampoo to wash out that grease build-up, then follow-up with a good Moisturizing conditioner... Then use your FAVE moisturizer, then seal with the Grease 😉
*Tda's Confession: Dax & BM are my Friend* ❤
Regular shampoo works for me
I think that's why ppl go wrong with grease and dont like it. It's literally a force field of protection, nothing coming in or out like he said.. that's why when we we younger, well my mom did, she would always dipped a brush in warm water mixed with conditioner and then applied the grease. Hair was soft for days. I still do something similar. I even use that brown gel from ampro styler
Good idea
I've been trying to remember the name of that gel! lol Nothing worked like that gel when I was a kid, and I've been wanting to try it out again.
@@MsSphinx91 ampro styler it's even a vegan gel too

I didn't hear the whole joke
I grew up using grease, then i remember when pink oil moisturizer came out, started using that too! My hair was the healthiest and it didnt need much. Used to grease my SCALP on a regular basis and it WORKED great! Never had dandruff or an itchy scalp. Tip: if you grease your scalp, you dont even need to put much grease on the actual hair...it will spread, through combing, etc
I've bought so much expensive products for my hair. All I needed was waterand UltraSheen.
M L And I OOP
I think any sulfate shampoo (that is also silicone-free) will suffice.
I just went and bought 2 jars of blue magic. The blue n green jars lol Sticking to the old school regimen and my oils.
I went back to grease, threw out every oil, pudding, all the mess they said u need for growth, the old school works! Had shelves full of product, no thank u!
I remember one time I was asking a female cashier about needing to get my hair done for an event. I just had my hair braided in two and had just come back from exercising. She had a nice weave/ wig.
Back in the day with all those “bad” grease products. As youths our hair would grow.
My hair didn't though
I've used grease too & haven't felt like I've had to use an extreme amount of shampoo to get it out.
True!! Or Ghana or Nigeria black soap! That stuff is super as a clarifying shampoo
I agree with using less, clarifying shampoo, and I would try rinsing with water as hot as I can stand for several minutes before applying shampoo.
We should do a grease challenge. Once a year grease your hair for 1 month called it the "willOnAWhin grease challenge" 😀

My hair was longer when I used grease I stop using it cause listen others about it not being good for hair now I going back to grease for good
i grease my scalp only. Then I use other products on my hair itself
When I first went natural, I would wash, deep condition, add a lil leave in and use the same exact grease and my hair was bomb.
I use sulfur 8 that’s been my baby since I discovered it

I don't Kno why naturals like to tell people grease bad my whole life my hair was down my back GREASING MY SCALP BUT ONCE I. Stop and listen to these RUclipsrs not to it slowed down my hair growth I start flackin itchiness and it cacked never again back to grease don't have it anymore scalp healthy again and waist length
You're so right. I always had long hair and honestly the only thing I do different now this time around is detangle my hair when it's wet and use a bunch of mixed oils.
I don't listen to these RUclipsrs either I'm relaxed and you know the relaxed Community says don't use grease LOL but I use it anyway and guess what my hair is growing and it's pretty and it's getting thicker I stopped listening to these RUclipsrs as well so I'm doing what I want to do on my channel I'm using Grease and people are going to see more of me using it as a matter fact I'm doing the video this weekend about prepare my hair for my relaxer and I'm going to use that grease when I get done washing my hair :-)👊💥
Same here! My hair is down my back too.
@@Kimari649 well I'm using grease again to just started back in May and it is a good sealant and I'm relaxed and when I used to use grease my hair was down my back just like our daughters they all had big hair now they use grease on our granddaughter's hair and they have big hair and long hair to so I don't see what the fuss is about some people maybe can't use it because it way their hair down will put bumps on their face as they say I don't know that it grew my hair never grew our daughter's hair too and now it's growing our grandchildren hair😊
Grease doesn’t grow your hair unless it has certain ingredients in it but most people use it for protective styling and it grows faster
Use Apple cider vinegar to get it out. Works like a charm
Absolutely right! Apple cider vinegar is a miracle worker. It works fast and help you remove all flakes.
Do you dilute it with water? I want to try but would like to know the proper ratios to use so I don't damage my hair
@@celestielsigh Equal parts water to apple cider vinegar is standard, but of course you can adjust it to see how your hair responds. I've even used 100% apple cider vinegar when I didn't feel like mixing it up and I didn't have any problems. I put it on before getting in the shower - for 5 minutes and up to several hours. If you have large patches of dandruff, you will see some shedding on the 3rd day, so take that into consideration. One friend thought it wasn't working because of the shedding, but he found out it was clearing his scalp.
Exactly right! I scrub/scratch my scalp and just apply it straight to wet hair. I don't dilute it or any of that, but others might need to. If I'm doing it consistently, I only need to so it once, on wash day, but if I don't, I have to do it twice then do the normal shampoo and condition follow up.
celestielsigh Cantu has an ACV rinse with tea tree oil. It is amazing.
I used to put hair grease in my hair everyday in middle school and put it in a low bun. My hair was till my hip. I’m gonna start using it again.
so should i use it everyday?
@@diamond6615 I was young and my hair looked like a grease ball but it was healthy 🤣! You should try applying it once per week and see how your hair reacts to it!
When were younger,we didn't have all of these options that you guys have now,we had grease🤷,,and it wasn't until we got older and abandoned our old school ways that we started having problems with growth, breakage,or dandruff
Idk, but it's interesting when you think about it
BRUUUUUH, Let me tell you how I just went back to using Blue Magic like 4 years ago 😒😒😒 b* . When I say super moisturized, CHEAP, shiny and healthy lookin. twist outs poppin. SMH. The problem was all these new products came on the scene and they told us petroleum was bad for your hair 😒 but mine has been flourishing since I switched back.
Do u put it on scalp
Janiya Gowdy I think it does the sealing part only...Soo apply after doing the wash n go
I'd rather use an African owned product that all Unilever's grease brandz. And it was actually bad for me back in the days.
@Janiya Gowdy it seals in the moisture and holds it. These lighter oils dont work as well for putting a barrier to hold in moisture. Just don't put it in dry hair. Use a leave in and mist with water before putting grease.
I actually just got back to it myself. I realized that grease is what I needed. I've been using it my whole life. It was time to go back to the basics. Water, grease and a hard brush.
Clarifying removes grease and u can wash ur hair in braids
