I sealed using Softee grease in my 12 week relaxer stretch. My stylist was very impressed with the health of my ends. She said she didn’t have to trim much. And for the FIRST time she told me I had to stand for an end dusting. My hair had grown to the point that it was too long to trim sitting down! I feel confident in prolonging my relaxer stretch. I’m going to train my hair to stretch to 14 weeks. For once, my hair stays moisturized as well. And it’s so soft! This truly changed my hair journey.
What is a relaxer “stretch” ? I’m not being sarcastic either, I genuinely don’t know lol. Does that mean a period of time, or a method? I’m only asking because my hair has plateaued and I’m thinking of getting a relaxer.
@@amydickenson2597 It's when you wait a longer time to get a relaxer. Also, more hair growth is key. Back in the 80's and 90's beauticians would leave the relaxer on for too long, and relax the hair every three to four weeks, and that's why many of us lost all of our hair. Just stretch as long as you can 3-4 months. I only relax every 3-4 months, and my hair is waist length. God, bless!

Yall are hypocrites!! Made me stop using grease 4 years ago with all the backlash and everyone in natural hair comment section talking about their terrible memories of their mamas and grandmas greasing their scalp and damaging their hair and health. And now...360° pfffffff
My favorite childhood memory regarding Blue Magic is as a 3rd grader being allowed to grease and brush my mother's hair. As a mother of 6 children, me being the oldest, I loved this night time ritual. She loved it too as she often fell asleep half way in. Such cherished memories.
Blue Magic will have that hair layed down. No, need for gel back in the day. The product is less than $3.00 at almost any store, and lasts for ever. Chile, I never stopped greasing my scalp due to popular beliefs. My sister's twist outs are amazing. Love the video!
Yall when i wuz little my mom called it "sulfah-h".. I thought that's wut it wuz called for yrz til a friend of mine gave the correct spelling and pronunciation...lololo just a memory i had...i use sulfur-8 now with royal crown....
I love your channel! I remember being little and my mom would grease my scalp and hair with blue magic and press it with a hot comb. My hair grew so fast and was so long back then. I just recently started back using it, and was surprised to see you using it! Thanks for sharing!!!
My favorite childhood memory was getting my hand popped with the comb every time I got my hair greased. I don't know why but, every time my mother greased my scalp I wanted to feel it. My hand was always in the way.
You missed the big picture. But that's why Erika was asking the question. I'm pretty sure she can read and understand more than I got my hand popped. You have a wonderful and blessed day!
All Though the natural hair faze i never stopped using grease because I have dry scalp and eczema and my dermatologist recommended it. My hair thrives with grease.
I came back full circle too from when I was a baby, my abuela put rosemary and castor oil in my hair since i was a bald baby and my hair was so long. Now I'm 22 and I'm using rosemary, castor, coconut, and peppermint oil mixed together and put it on my scalp. Within 2 months I went from shoulder length to bra strap length, and my scalp hasn't been dry for so long.
I'll be greasing my scalp after work. Only thing I have in my bathroom is castor oil so that will have to do for now. Been stopped listening to the "natural hair" crowd.
I massage vapor rub in my hair the night before I wash it to sooth the really itchy patches from my scalp. It feels amazing! Just thought I would tell you all just in case you want to try.
I definitely saw the shine in your hair! It looked so nourished! I have gone back to greasing my scalp as well, and I have noticed a huge difference! Great video 😊
I used blue magic as a child. I too may go back to greasing my scalp. You ladies are such a joy to watch! I wish you all the success. And I too now only wash my hair once a month. 🙂🙂
I like it. I do like what you guys do, like everything once a month. And it last the whole month in straight form. I was truly impressed 🙂 Thanks Twolala
I recently also began using blue magic and sulfur 8 as well in my own hair and my daughter’s. I use sulfur8 on the scalp and blue magic as a final sealant. We are both natural. I have noticed that our hair retains moisture much longer and my daughters scalp is less irritated.
Yeah...growing up my mom would part our hair and scratch up the dandruff...girl, that was like heaven for me!😂 My mom used TCB hair grease on our hair. Now, I like Sulfur 8. My scalp always feels "open" when I use it.
Girl, bring it back with the scratching the dandruff off the scalp!!! My mother used to do that to our heads, and my sisters and I absolutely loved it!!
Awww this brought back memories of me doing yalls hair! I really need a good hair grease because my hair gets dry fast! I am definitely going to try it again! Love Mommy!❤️
Funny, I tried “going back” and it did all the things “they” warned us about. It def did work when I was a child but we didn’t care about *curls* back then, just moisture and braids
I stopped using grease on my hair years ago because they said it was bad for the hair. I didn't have a problem with my hair growing because my hair has been long most of the time; however, I recently cut all my hair off down to the scalp and decided to start all over again and go natural. As a child we used Royal Crown and all four of us girls in the house had long hair, so I'm trying to decide after I finish my little jar of Softee, if I want to buy Royal Crown or Blue Magic Grease. I'm going to start greasing my scalp again, it's so dry.
The blue magic hair products are made right here in Olive Branch, Mississippi for many years. The address is on the jar. I have been using it for two years and my hair is growing like crazy. I have a tight curl pattern and it's getting very thick, and 4 inches long at the crown.
Working my way back to using grease as of today. I been dealing with dry, itchy, falky, irritated scalp for about 3-4 months. Tried many different oils but nothing worked. Therefore, today I switched and went back to what I remember my mother, grandmother, and aunties using as a child "Grease" yes, it was the best thing ever!! Washed, conditioned, and blowdried my hair. Greased my scalp and massaged into my hair. Wow! my scalp felt amazing, I can feel and see the moisture. ❤️ your video and yes, I'm subscribing!🤗❤️
Coming up I would get my hair pressed in curled every two weeks. The only thing that was put on my hair during that time was grease. My hair stayed moisterized, silky, & soft. Im high porosity. I guess my hair got moisture from the air cause i would use grease between services & that's all I used. Thanks a lot for promoting blue magic grease especially for people who wear their hair straightened.
You have nice hair! A stylist made a statement that nobody uses hair grease anymore. Going back to basics is sometimes the best thing! My childhood memories are wearing an afro & we used Royal Crown, Blue Magic, Sulfer 8, & the list goes on.
My favorite childhood memory was getting my hair washed and greased every Sunday afternoon or evening. My mama used the blue or the green Blue magic hair grease on my hair.
I loved the video I too remember using blue magic to have my scalp grease growing up. Another favorite was the tcb...with my hair being permed it use argan oil with drops of rosemary oil for my scalp as it doesn't weigh down my hair. Blue magic is perfect for natural hair which is how my hair was growing up
Try oiling your scalp while it is wet with grease or oil, lightly. This will help with growth, flakes and dry patches. I usually oil my scalp after shampooing/conditioning.
I have been using blue magic hair grease maybe for a year now the one I have is the originals and this one is made with the shea butter jojoba oil and Japanese tea leaves and the other one this is the one that I use as a moisturizer this one is too blue magic with Argan Oil it's the one that says with the vitamin E and it's a leave-in conditioner is the cream but it's Aleve and it makes my hair feel really really soft. I think everybody should go back to using hair grease in their hair :-) your hair looks beautiful and you're right it doesn't weigh your hair down at all thank you so much God bless you🙏🌻
@@twolala1 they have to the one I have is the light blue that says leave in conditioner and the other one it has all of those camps and other things in it and I already have a grease like that the originals :-)
Green ultra sheen after revlon balsam formula or the original creme of nature shampoo was the staple as a little girl in the 70s. My mom would give me 4 long plaits that would take a whole day to dry and thankfully when I don't wash/set my hip length natural hair, my 2 braids still takes 24hrs. GREAT vid 😍
I always put hairgrease on my scalp. I start of by parting my hair. Healthy hair starts at the scalp. I use the Kera Care glossifier or the At One With Nature super grow formula for many years. After i put the grease on my scalp, it feels rejuvinated, moisturized and soft.
Growing up, my mother greased my scalp, and my hair was long and healthy. I grease my scalp now, and my hair is healthy. I tried not greasing my scalp, and my hair started was dull, dry, and started breaking.
I'm from the West Indies and my aunt would part my hair and do this with coconut oil. I get impatient to part lol so I just massage it in like you did! Thanks for this vid :)
I really like Suave conditioners! I've slept on them for a long time but they are one of the only things that help my hair to lay down! I have the Suave strawberry, tropical coconut, cherry blossom, argan oil, and rose oil conditioners! They smell great! I do own the tropical coconut shampoo!
My mother didn't believe in greasing my scalp, but my favorite memory was getting my hair washed with the original CON shampoo and deep conditioned with the Cholesterol conditioner. #1978baby
The ORIGINAL creme of nature NEEDS to come back!! It was naturally sulfate free, comb slippage with easy detangling on long heavy hair, and GREAT ingredients! Emailed the company but the new owners DON'T replicate that formula but I have it so I'm going to try to redo it! I'm a 1970s baby😍
I'm so glad I found this channel! Because of the lockdown I'm forced to do my hair myself and I've been only going to salons. I'm really nervous and it's hard finding videos for relaxed hair
I started back grease about 4 months now and of course I use to use it growing up bf on my permed hair growing up. Its been straight game changer. I have 4ccccc to the max and it's been a struggle keeping it moisturized. After using grease again my wash day is a piece of cake I barely have to detangle and my hair stays moisturized. Taking out my braids was a struggle too but no issues.
Frls honestly. I was all confident putting this grease in my hair like YESSSS WE GON GET LENGTH and then when to take the trash out. As soon as I stepped out in that 90 degree weather all of a sudden red ants all over my scalp. Lmaoooo a little goes a long way
I have 4c hair!! My mom used the Blue Magic Super Sure Gro hair grease all the time when I was little. My hair was always thriving and shiny!! But one day, I don’t know why, but my mom stopped using it entirely. Not even oiling my hair anymore. And me being a dumbass one day. When I was 16, I curled my hair for a week!! With no heat protection. I ended up frying my hair by Friday. And my mom thought my hair would grow back if she just kept braiding it. But the problem was I wasn’t putting any oil or anything frequently, if not at all. It did grow back but It took a very long time and it was very dry. it wasn’t even long tho. And I have been told for a long time that my hair was scrappy nappy from my mom and I always thought that people would judge me if my hair wasn’t done. And I see all of these white girls and some black girls with beautiful, long flowing hair. I wanted that kind of hair so bad. In result, I got obsessed with sew in’s and hook latch styles. Wanting to cover my natural hair cause I thought it wasn’t beautiful enough. I felt so insecure. But recently I met this really great friend. We’re basically Sister’s now. She saw me with my natural hair one day and she went absolutely fan girl on me. She says even though my weaves and hook latches are beautiful, that my natural hair is more beautiful. She did explain that it’s really dry also, so she suggested that I used some growth oils cause she didn’t know about hair grease at the time. I trust her and she wants what’s best for me so I tried it for a while. It felt so soft at first when I first put it in, but it didn’t last that long. I basically had to put it in every day. And sometimes the oils just drip down my neck. I tried to use it consistently but it just didn’t work for me. I wasn’t seeing any difference in length and i still had a lot of breakage. Recently my sister has been very passionate about talking about God and how much Jesus love you no matter how you look. And It gave me enough inspiration and motivation to start embracing my natural hair. If Jesus thinks I’m beautiful, then I MUST be!! So one day I was scrolling through my mom’s Facebook page looking at pictures of me when I was little and my hair was so healthy, long and shiny. And I thought to myself, why don’t go back to hair grease. So me and my sister went to walmart and I picked up a jar of blue magic. Me curious, I opened the jar to smell it. 😂 Believe or not, I used to hate the smell of it when I was little. Now, me being 19, every time I smell the jar now, I just feel so much nostalgia from that very jar. It smelled just like part of my childhood when my mom used to do my hair for school. I started using Blue magic again a few weeks ago. And I’m already starting to see some change. My hair is moisturized longer, there is DEFINITELY less breakage, and my coils are getting more defined. I’m getting really into looking up cute protective styles for my hair and I’m having fun doing them! My mom always did my hair my whole life so I’m happy to try it myself for a change. And I’m starting to grow my edges back after my mom braided them off! 😂😂 Even my sister said that the hair grease seemed to be working and she encouraged me to keep using it!! So I definitely am still going to use it! I use leave in conditioner and use the hair grease to seal it in. And I started a routine where I wash my hair once a week. And I can see my hair really needed this!! I realized I was doing it all wrong, instead of wishing for hair I will never have, I should’ve been embracing the natural 4c hair that God has blessed with from the very beginning! ❤❤ Hair grease really is magic. And if there’s anything I learned from this, it’s you can’t go wrong with the classics. If it worked then, I can work now! Sorry for the long story. 😅 but I hope some of you find inspiration from my story to start using it again or try it for the first time! ❤ Your hair will thank you later!! Mine definitely has!!
My memory was when my mom use to was and moisturize my hair before she curled it for church on Sunday. Everyone always complemented how long and beautiful my curls were. It was the only time I could wear my hair open. 😍

That was a great video Erica! I remember how shiny grease made my hair. I actually have Blue Magic Indian Hemp. I am going to open it up and start using it.💜
I apply oils to my fingers and then massage onto my scalp as parting is too much work. LOL! I rarely oil my scalp though. I typically only do it as part of a pre-poo and then it is washed off my hair. The only grease I’ve used on my scalp since being natural is the carol’s daughter honey hair mimosa. For pre-poos, I use Wild Growth Hair Oil. I have used Blue Magic on my daughter’s hair as a sealing oil because I found heavier mineral oil based products were more effective than natural oils for sealing her hair when she was smaller.
Great video--Thank you! I am going to start greasing my relaxed hair. I am hoping that it will help lessen the tangles so I can pull a wide-tooth comb through my hair without any breakage like you are doing. I think I have three different jars of Blue Magic left from when I bought it back when I was natural. I have 4c hair so my new growth and relaxed hair just don't get along. I am trying to not put a wig on to stretch my hair. I am at week eight and it is taking everything in me to not grab that relaxer I like to part and grease because I feel like I miss spots when I am impatient.
It does really bring back childhood memories. I remember when she was back and forth with the blue & green grease. I use to part my hair to grease my scalp then I started putting on my finger tips to and massage it in. That works better then parting for me to.
I part my hair to grease it. Mainly to make sure I don’t miss any areas. Your hair is so pretty & flowy. 👍🏾 My mom nvr used Blue Magic. Maybe I should try it now as an adult. ☺️
Scalp is itchy cause of the grease. If it has alcohol it will itch up the scalp. Cheaper products have more alcohol. Also spritz, hair sprays and gels. You'll have to wash it more. You don't need to put anything on the scalp. Put it on the hair only. I like mane choice spray, sealant cream and oil, keeps hair moisturized for days without the itchiness.
I am very elated for those who love grease and it works for you. Sadly, my hair loathes it, and prefers Argan Oil. I can use Organix, but since my eczema diagnosis 5 years ago, my scalp refuses One'N'Only, which is major bummer because the results were lovely. I loved Suave's Keratin, but eczema hated it as well.
My mother never used grease on me buuut I used grease (baby don’t be bald) to cure my own daughters cradle cap when she was a baby. I also used to do my edges/baby hairs really heavy in middle school. I usually used gel but when we ran out I was using this stuff called temple balm that my mom bought for herself on my edges and I would get made fun of in school because my edges got thick af ♥️
I love my Blue Magic Indian Hemp. My hair feels so much better than b4. My scalp will dry out like yours b4 my strands. High perosity hair usually requires more hydration on the scalp. I do not part it beacause I keep it in braids. When I put it on my scalp, I just massage it in really good. I love it all. I do not like the Coconut oil. It is only good on your strands. But, it does promote growth when added to your scalp. I just combine it with the Indian Hemp.
I will stick to my Dax grease preferably applying as hair grease only. My hair would grow quickly with Dax. I would apply it only as hair as my scalp IS very sensitive to peoduct buildup.
I remember using Indian hemp back in the day. A classmate from elementary used blue magic and I guess whoever did her hair never rubbed it in and she was very light skin and you could see the blue grease. We laugh about it now 40 years ago.

Yall are hypocrites!! Made me stop using grease 4 years ago with all the backlash and everyone in natural hair comment section talking about their terrible memories of their mamas and grandmas greasing their scalp and damaging their hair and health. And now...360° pfffffff

These natural hair gurus are scams! I went back to greasing my hair and my hair is growing faster and retaining length like never before!

My favorite childhood memory regarding Blue Magic is as a 3rd grader being allowed to grease and brush my mother's hair. As a mother of 6 children, me being the oldest, I loved this night time ritual. She loved it too as she often fell asleep half way in. Such cherished memories.
Aww! how nice!
I’m surprised how 90% of these comments all say “I remember when my mom/grandma...”
Lol may I ask what’s your ethnicity?

Blue Magic will have that hair layed down. No, need for gel back in the day. The product is less than $3.00 at almost any store, and lasts for ever. Chile, I never stopped greasing my scalp due to popular beliefs. My sister's twist outs are amazing. Love the video!
Gel is gross looking and feeling
My mom used Dax on us. As I got older, I loved Sulfur 8. Everyone hated the smell, but I liked it.
Honey I still have dax & JUST used it the one with Tar oil , love it AND sulfer 8👍
Adding a little peppermint oil to the sulfur 8 makes all the difference @viper

I love your channel! I remember being little and my mom would grease my scalp and hair with blue magic and press it with a hot comb. My hair grew so fast and was so long back then. I just recently started back using it, and was surprised to see you using it! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you! and yes my grandma use to do that as well :)
My favorite childhood memory was getting my hand popped with the comb every time I got my hair greased. I don't know why but, every time my mother greased my scalp I wanted to feel it. My hand was always in the way.

Yes!! Rosemary and peppermint are great fro growth :)
How many days a week do u do this?
I'll be greasing my scalp after work. Only thing I have in my bathroom is castor oil so that will have to do for now. Been stopped listening to the "natural hair" crowd.
Girl, you sound like Serena Williams and Venus!😂😂😂
Ever since high school, those were our nicknames! LOL
I massage vapor rub in my hair the night before I wash it to sooth the really itchy patches from my scalp. It feels amazing! Just thought I would tell you all just in case you want to try.
The eucalyptus in it is very good for your scalp!
Use sulfur 8. Smells not great but will cure itchy scalp. They also make a shampoo now
I definitely saw the shine in your hair! It looked so nourished! I have gone back to greasing my scalp as well, and I have noticed a huge difference! Great video 😊
Yep! New part of my routine now :)
I miss when my mother would grease my scalp I would give anything to have that moment with her.

Me too. She used to grease it and give my scalp a vigorous massage !

My daughter is 17 and I still grease her scalp
I used blue magic as a child. I too may go back to greasing my scalp. You ladies are such a joy to watch! I wish you all the success. And I too now only wash my hair once a month. 🙂🙂
Thank you so much! How do you like the whole once a month washing?
My scalp always feels "open" when I use it.
yep! whenever I grease my scalp it just feels effective right after doing it :)
same!!! the best part was getting rid of dandruff, sulfur 8 is the best, i use that and tee tree oil for my scalp since i get dandruff ofteen
same with dandruff TCB was everything and Pine Tar

Funny, I tried “going back” and it did all the things “they” warned us about. It def did work when I was a child but we didn’t care about *curls* back then, just moisture and braids
Damn right. And a cute updo on special occasions. Soon wigs will be out as well I bet
Love Blue Magic, using it to grow my hair using a mix of oils and grease.
Yea I like to add a few drops of tea tree & rose Mary oil to mine & a little hemp seeds👍
Yes. The grease literally runs down your hair strands. And stays moisturized for up to 3 days.
The blue magic hair products are made right here in Olive Branch, Mississippi for many years. The address is on the jar. I have been using it for two years and my hair is growing like crazy. I have a tight curl pattern and it's getting very thick, and 4 inches long at the crown.
My hair is short, and curly. I use a variety of oils, but I am using Kuza Indian Hemp hair grease. I plan on using Blue Magic hair grease soon.
Look !! Our hair was so long didn't break off and beautiful and shiny back in the day I'm so glad this is comming back
Love it. I use grease for my ends and it protects my hair. My scalp is good at the moment, I only use it when it is dry and itchy. It's magic.
Yes I grease my scalp
Coming up I would get my hair pressed in curled every two weeks. The only thing that was put on my hair during that time was grease. My hair stayed moisterized, silky, & soft. Im high porosity. I guess my hair got moisture from the air cause i would use grease between services & that's all I used. Thanks a lot for promoting blue magic grease especially for people who wear their hair straightened.
This stuff works! I used this in the 90s and recently return to using it.
I love blue magic (the green one). I used it for over 20 yrs and will never stop.
Yessss!!
I haven't greased my scalp in years and I too use to use blue magic hair grease now I oil my scalp once a week.
You have nice hair! A stylist made a statement that nobody uses hair grease anymore. Going back to basics is sometimes the best thing! My childhood memories are wearing an afro & we used Royal Crown, Blue Magic, Sulfer 8, & the list goes on.
Ha... Lots of people are going back to grease... Ask the blue magic fan club
My favorite childhood memory was getting my hair washed and greased every Sunday afternoon or evening. My mama used the blue or the green Blue magic hair grease on my hair.
Yees!!! The Sunday night sessions were constants in our house
I do that, and so far, it's working wonders
Your hair looks shiny and healthy. I might have to pull out my grease.
Yes! Do it!
Grease is so good for the scalp most people dont know. I use dax kocotah. Its so good for my scalp. Love it!
I went back to my old school greases too.

I never used blue magic as a kid, but I did use b&b. I still “grease” my scalp, but now I use hair fertilizer and my African pride black castor oil
Grease has become underrated it does well for my hair🤷🏾♀️
Green ultra sheen after revlon balsam formula or the original creme of nature shampoo was the staple as a little girl in the 70s. My mom would give me 4 long plaits that would take a whole day to dry and thankfully when I don't wash/set my hip length natural hair, my 2 braids still takes 24hrs. GREAT vid 😍
I don’t grease my scalp but I still use lusters pink lotion to moisturize and it still works great!
I always put hairgrease on my scalp. I start of by parting my hair. Healthy hair starts at the scalp. I use the Kera Care glossifier or the At One With Nature super grow formula for many years. After i put the grease on my scalp, it feels rejuvinated, moisturized and soft.
Your length is crazy!!! I remember my mamma would swear by Ultra Sheen and Vo5. lol

I stopped greasing my scalp because it caused me to get buildup really fast, and I sweat alot. Now I'm almost 30 honey, I'm gonna bring it back.
Frls honestly. I was all confident putting this grease in my hair like YESSSS WE GON GET LENGTH and then when to take the trash out. As soon as I stepped out in that 90 degree weather all of a sudden red ants all over my scalp. Lmaoooo a little goes a long way
@@TheOfficialBrownHeadedGoof wait like actual red ants??
@@scrapbookdreamer1055 no lol the red ants signify the itchiness that my scalp felt with all the grease.
Great video, I love the blue magic I use it everyday on my hair.

Nice! Thank you for the tips too!
Great video--Thank you! I am going to start greasing my relaxed hair. I am hoping that it will help lessen the tangles so I can pull a wide-tooth comb through my hair without any breakage like you are doing. I am trying to not put a wig on to stretch my hair. I am at week eight and it is taking everything in me to not grab that relaxer
I like to part and grease because I feel like I miss spots when I am impatient.
It does really bring back childhood memories. I remember when she was back and forth with the blue & green grease. I use to part my hair to grease my scalp then I started putting on my finger tips to and massage it in. That works better then parting for me to.
I think so too! 💗💗
I doubt anything would make your hair better ... you all have pretty much maxed your hair out at perfect lol!
My favorite childhood hair memory was just sitting with a book while my mom put my hair in several ponytails for the week.

I part my hair to grease it. Mainly to make sure I don’t miss any areas. Your hair is so pretty & flowy. 👍🏾 My mom nvr used Blue Magic. Maybe I should try it now as an adult. ☺️
Thanks! You should try it
Scalp is itchy cause of the grease.
My mom and older sister greased me and my younger sisters hair it was so nourishing and made our hair soft and shiny..
So cool! sister bonding! I love it !
I wish I could part my hair and grease it, but I’m horrible at parting so I just rub it in!
Finally someone who relates!! Lol!
I just finger part lol
Taylor Ingram right?! I’m terrible with a comb.. I should get a rat tail comb like someone suggested lol
My partner does my parting for greasing for me, can do myself but far more relaxing with someone else does it.
Thank God! I'm not the only one!😄
I've never used blue magic before but I will love to try it on my daughter ✨
Totally try it!
Awww you two were so cute and you really look like your mum all gorgeous. I part my hair to grease it.
thank you!!!
I grew up using DAX but i want back to hair Grease and it doing wonders
