Giiiirl I stopped listening to those “natural hair gurus” when those same people started saying they’re going back to relaxers and that natural hair “isn’t for everybody” when they got tired of the trend 😂👋🏾
the funny thing is how is the hair that grows out of your OWN HEAD "not for you"? just say you did it bc it was popular and go dont discourage others bc of your lack of commitment. i swear these "gurus" get on my nerves
I just went back to grease two weeks ago and whew chile my hair is so soft, moisturized, and I have no hassle with detangling. I mixed my blue magic grease with Dax, sulfur 8, and peppermint oil. I grease my scalp and seal my ends twice a week. Our ancestors been using grease for decades and I recall a lot of little girls running around with healthy hair and all of their edges.
@@yesitsthattime Sis to this DAY I can't find dog mange! That use to keep my scalp flake free and grow my hair out fast! I'm about to stop silk pressing my hair and go back to being natural!
As a bald man, the only grease i use is to clog my arteries... but i still love watching your videos cause it helps me prep for a daughter someday! very insightful.
Makes sense as to why my hair was so healthy when i was younger. It was Blue Magic, Indian Hemp and Pink Lotion. Im losing my hair and its so dry. Im going back to grease and you just gained a new subbie lol
I went back to hair grease and sulfates too. My hair is thanking me. Coconut oil and Shea butter might work for the 4A/4B girls but my 4C hair needs heavy duty sealing lol
V I’m 3c and I used coconut oil, I hated it. Especially in cold weather... for some reason the coconut oil hardened in my hair and made it brittle and stiff
I have pretty low self confidence about my hair and the fact that i’m black but seeing you reminds me the beauty of being black, you’re so pretty!! Imma try and work on myself and feel more confident ÙwÚ, imma start growing my hair and use it to its fullest
I literally decided to use my Blue Magic today because my hair was suffering extreme dryness. My hair feels better than ever. I can’t believe I let people convince me to put my grease away when it was the key to major hair growth my entire life.
The FDA doesn't carry alot of weight for me, they approve of my cancer meds even though it has awful side effects. But at least I'm cancer free,......for now
I recently started using grease instead of pure oils (e.g. coconut, olive etc) to seal my hair and my hair loves it. It's softer, longer and thicker. Pure oils are now part of my pre poo regime and works well there. Thanks 4 this video!!!!
I am sooooo stubborn. I really wanted the liquid oils to work for my hair but it's like they evaporate in this heat (Caribbean) and my hair just got dry sooo fast. And I can never muster the energy to even mist daily, oil my scalp every 2-3 days. It was just too much, but when I tell you Blue Magic, is my hair's bestfriend. It stays moisturised for the whole week. Cleanse, Deep condition/hot oil treatment/protein treatment, leave in, GREASE.
@@noneynoney295 Yes! My great grandmother used it. She was about 98 when she passed with about 4-6 wrinkles I n her entire face. She swore by it. Same with both grandmothers, aunts, mother and me. Try it!
@@georgiapeach310 If my eczema will allow me, I will try it again while I only got two lines on my forehead, crows feet when I smile, and a little nasal fold, along with drinking plenty seltzer water, because my acid reflux won't allow me to go without carbonation. Hopefully it will help with the rings around the top part of mg chest, and deep line on the back of my neck ( I am going on 44 ).
@@georgiapeach310 Bless your very spirit! ☺ I would like to do things instead of just stay relying on my genetics! Help things along! 😉 I am open to things like Vaseline or moisturizer, scrubs, masks, facial steaming, or facials, but no thanks to things that alters, like Botox or Plastic Surgery for me. I would only do that if it is not for vanity reason. The only exception would be if I get loose skin once I lose weight ( 95 pounds.
Yes. My mother used to grease my scalp with Apex and I had the most thickness, longest and healthiest hair with no dandruff. Jumped on the natural oils bandwagon as an adult and my scalp and hair hates it. I can’t go 3 days without flakes popping up. I’m going back to grease.
@@ninalou4629 hey nina if your ends are dry the best thing to do is deep condition your hair weekly, it works so much better if you deep condition your hair overnight but you'll just have to be consistent, be sure to dilute those ends, put more conditioner on the ends of your hair, it should look like a slob when your done applying it, I have rugged hard ends too and it works for me, also get those ends cut if you haven't already. Grease is a personal choice I'm sure it'll make a wonderful moisturizer once your done washing
I use the same shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner it's a life saving for my hair, I use all type of products including natural hair products they all left my hair dry and hard except for Aussie. I will never go back to another hair products again
Tasha G Try sulfur 8. Oils and regular greases made my scalp itch, and it would somehow end up being flaky and greasy at the same time. Sulfur 8 takes that away.
I will never forget being a newbie to natural hair and getting the worst advice from what I call natural hair puriest. Use all natural, co-wash often and use shampoo raely, etc... My hair was a mess. I stopped listen to the "rules" and worked to find out what worked for my hair. My hair is healthy and grows like a weed. Just as it did when I was relaxed by the way. My point is, do what works for you. I see people making videos like their they knows what works for every single natural haired person. When I have found out the hard way that even people that appear to have the same hair "type"...their hair can react differently to products. Anyway, it is interesting to listen to people say hair grease is of the devil when back in the day it was used and women and children had healthy hair with it.
I use blue magic and creme of nature products. All for $20 where I was spending $20 per product. I’m not ever turning away. My hair is soft and moisturized! The other “natural” stuff kept me dry and irritated.
I recently big chop and i was confuse what to do with my hair. Since I was child my hair was down to my back. I put in braids last month and been using nothing but water and grease when I tell you the growth I have gotten.
Creole Belle I literally use the sulfur, doo gro ,Shea butter and water lol. Then I put a hair growth oil through my scalp and I leave it in braids or a scarf or I do the bare minimum of touching it. I only touch it if my braids need to be redone or something other then that I leave it alone. Not only length but my hair feel strong and healthy
E I mean I always had super long hair my whole life till I cut it even now it’s growing back pretty well I wish I could post pictures lol but yeah true
Listen, I am 65 and remember my hair grew the best when I use Glover mange and Vaseline and also Blue Magic I just now went and bought Blue Magic and water and going to roll my hair. Thank you very very much!!
I really enjoyed this! Y'all I am a student and spending a working woman's money on products because of bandwagoning 😂 We gotta remember where we came from!
Exactly!!!! I spent a ton on expensive products a few months ago and after they were done I got a jar of blue magic and bees wax cuz imma broke student and tired of trial and errors with costly products
@@shana-kaydouglas8135 your hair will thank you for it!!! I stand by my Indian hemp oil grease. I peeped the ingredients and saw all the magical naturalista oils are in there (coconut, Jojoba, rosemary, sweet almond, avocado etc) . Think of all the coin I would have spent buying them all individually 🙄
I've never used grease before but I do use pure lanolin which is sheep sebum. It's a really really thick jelly like substance, perfect for sealing in moisture and delivering it. I stopped using it (because of the natural hair movement) which was my biggest mistake. I'm back on it and I already grew 2 inches and a half in 2 months. Lanolin is in a lot of greases and pomades cuz it's really thick. So you may have used it before. I no longer use oils I just use this.🤷🏾♀️
@@Bunnypop_princess I purchase online on Amazon. You can either get the oil version or the original version which is the thick jelly. I specifically get mine from the company "Now" they have both if you have a preference.
I didn't know this about Lanolin, meaning it is essentially organic right??? It's a main ingredient in a lot of hair greases and is also demonised by the hair nazis.....
Most of us grew up and grew our hair on grease. My mom used Dax on our hair and even the Dax pressing oil and curl wax. So crazy last week I went to the beauty supply to buy them all now a week later stumbling upon this video confirms what I was thinking that old school in many cases works the best especially in this regard as over the past few years of having new hair struggles I've never had before. Thanks a million for this video and sharing with us all.
Today/last night I essentially slathered myself in grease and Vaseline from head to toe. Best skin day all winter. And yes I thoroughly moisturized the night before after my shower with olive oil. My skin soaked it up. But guess what stayed moisturized? My knees, elbows, and feet which I used Vaseline to top off. Keeping that same energy all the rest of the year. ✌🏾👌🏾
Grease is the only thing that is thick enough to coat and moisturize my hair. I remember in my relaxer days, when I started to regularly grease my scalp, my hair would grow and never be dry, from root to tip. When I became natural and cut out grease and started using coconut oil, shea moisture products, carols daughter...None of it made a difference. I found that leaving my hair in braids under wigs was aiding in my hair growth not the products. A lot of these natural products are too runny and dont penetrate deep enough. Its annoying having to sneak and open jars of hair products in the store just to see if it is thick enough... I think one of the reasons why hair grease got pushed aside is because the natural hair community and following has highlighted looser textures; and theyve become the platform for natural hair...women with 3a, 2a hair cant use hair grease because its too heavy so its deemed as useless.
I have 3a-3c hair and honestly grease is life. Does it tend to weigh my hair down if I use TOO MUCH ? Ofcourse but if you use a small amount and spread it evenly on that scalp or on the ends giiiirl it’s magic. Grease is that bitch. Period.
I grew up on GLOVERS MANE... press and curl every two weeks ... worn the Lucille Ball hair style. Hair was gorgeous!!! I hate I started using relaxers. Years later I'm back to natural!!!
I agree . I grew up using glover maine in my younger years. Soon as i stop my hair broke out. Trying to get my hair healthy and strong again . l need some kind of advice on how to get my hair to grow back
Ryan Payne I use to use grease as a child but stopped using it when I relaxed my hair. I went natural a few years back and I never used it. My scalp is super itchy and often inflamed. I’m going to get that sulphur 8. Truth be told, I’ve used the shampoo in the past but it made my hair dry. I’ll start with the grease and then see if it makes a difference.
Omg I wouldn’t use grease because everybody is all for oils now but my hair sucks oils up when I use grease my hair is so soft & it lasts in my hair longer! I’m so happy somebody is saying this❤️
As a black boy I started my hair journey 2017 . I’ve been doing everything the past 3 years but NOTHING has ever worked for my hair (4c) no matter how much product I applied scalp was always itchy always dry and flaky . My hairstyles could never last more than 2 weeks cause it’ll get just wayyy too itchy , I’d cave in and take my shower cap off and just let the water run in it . Nothing felt better . My stylist told me to try this thing called sulfur 8 and it worked great ! I just couldn’t take the smell . Fast forward my hair is for the first time and 3 years healthy because of my mixture of doo grow, sulfur 8 , jbco, and peppermint oil. Never will I ever go back to Shea moisture , Cantu or those other fake fancy hairproducts (besides their shampoos and conditioners they actually work)
Koriander Yander thankyou . It really took to 2020 for me to find what worked for my hair 😭. My hair coulda been to the floor by now but it barely comes past my mouth
I’ve been using the Sulphur 8 clean & fresh from a local beauty supply store since 2016 because I never liked the smell of the original in the yellow or blue containers. I love it when I have box braids, crotchet hairstyles or sew ins helps keep me from scratching my scalp raw
Yes; same here. I am learning that parrafin and petrolatum help SOOO much to protect my scalp skin. Further, pomades containing those and BEESWAX are helping with length retention... I can't wait to braid for the summer... And then press in October.. it'll be like 14 inches!!!!
Wow, your hair is beautiful! I'm a guy and when I was growing up, all we had was blue magic. My hair was long and healthy. Now, everything is so complex, after watching you video I'm going back to blue magic and regreening
I love grease! Growing up my mom used it on my hair and I had INCHES hunty! I mean waist length inches! She would press my hair with and it prevented it from reverting by repelling the moisture. It was not until I was about 18 that I quit using grease because I made the mistake of listening to these ignorant stylists. After I quit using it, I had a very difficult time retaining length and the breakage and split ends became my life. My presses also never lasted and I consistently got heat damage. I think black stylists adopted the no grease thing from white stylists in hair school or something. Moral of the story is I will never abandon grease again!
Lizzie McGowan they had to. Always listening to whites whose ways of doing things are for THEM, they love to then fan all that out to others like it’s a universal fit. True to their nature!
Janiya Gowdy she didn’t say white people say that, she was saying that natural hair gurus where trying to get us to do our hair like them, when our textures are obviously very different and have extremely different needs product wise
I remember when the majority of little black girls had super thick long 4Z ponytails. I grew up with mom, grandma using stinky sulfur 8 and grease but my hair was healthy. Tragically, lye based adult and kiddie perms came along💀 black women/girls began to struggle more with damaged hair. I'm glad we are doing better and going back to natural, protective styles and old school products or techniques that work. While grocery shopping 2 mo ago, I stumbled upon the discount section and BINGO there were several dusty jars of $1.99 Blue Magic. I thought about the "olden" days then happily threw a few in my basket. I forgotten that I tucked them away - until now. Guess what I'm doing while watching👀 TY EfikZara💜
It constantly amazes me the bad rap grease gets, how many of us literally got the hair wash & "greased" scalp every week or two??? Mmmmm..it worked then but now???, 🤔Me personally, loving my sulphur 8💖
@Tia Jevery morning before school i message doo grow mega thick onto his scalp and I either use grease when I retwist his hair or I use black castor or black seed oil and his hair is THICK and long. He's 8 been growing like this since he was 5.. I love doo grow because it doesn't feel heavy or weigh his hair down. His hair has alot of body ( it moves freely) btw he has 4c high porosity hair. My
@Tia J I was about to ask the same thing because I'm a little over a week in starting my loc journey. I have some blue magic hair grease, but wasn't sure if i should use it.
It's not the petroleum I'm concerned about so much as the other sketchy ingredients. Here's a tip: I've been using petroleum on my skin since 8 yrs old. I'm now 41 and my skin is FLAWLESS.
I know this is becoming a “thing” on RUclips but honestly this has been a tool. But because the beauty community didn’t say it was, it wasn’t. It’s just oil in a different state. I loved this video and I definitely subscribed ❤️
Thank you so much to taking the time out to actually explain and cite your sources. I'm tired of paying 25$ for small dropper bottles of oil. I'm going back to using my original stuff indian hemp grease, sulfur 8 and hair food. And your beautiful btw lol had to put that out there
OKAY RESEARCH!!! RUclipsrs need to do their research before publicly giving out information. I meannnnn let’s face it, that’s where mostly everyone of this generation is getting their information, unfortunately. A lot of miseducation and misinformation floating around.
Facts. Hair grows no matter what and all that grease can clog the scalp. It can work fine on the length of the hair but you have to clarify your hair properly so there won't be so much residue.
NLT4Ever #1 people have been using grease for decades and actually centuries, because it’s something that comes from Africa (using a fat on hair and body). Your hair and scalp need the extra protection.
I have been using hair grease since a child ..it always has helped with major growth ..keeps my hair thick from breaking ..and its almost like it feeds the hair and nourishes the scalp ..started wearing weaves for a long time .lace fronts brought edges out ..it led one thing after another ..then I gave up started back my natural journey and thank God I did ..healthy hair no dyes for me ..no perms ever and just loving what God made
My mom used to use grease on my hair when I was very little, but when Luster's Pink Stuff came out we switched to that and things have not been the same since. Grease got negative fake news reviews well before Natural Hair became the trend. Especially when vaseline got tied to carcinogens, I remember grease usage dropped significantly. This was in the 90's though and probably depends on where you were. We were in California at the time. But it's true that using grease to seal in moisture on scalp, ends, and hair shaft is the move. It's about protecting your crown, each product has a purpose and if you "do your research" like you said, you'll have success. Thank you for your breakdown.
annanne honestly you can use whatever shampoo you want as long as it has sulfates in which cuts the grease. I use VO5 or L Oreal to get the grease out and you only need 1 pass through to get it out.
Before I came across your video, I knew petroleum was best to moisturize my predominantly 4C hair. I agree with you and thanks for this important research. I’m also a registered nurse and you’re right on target! Again, thank you!
I love grease! I would like to try the blue magic Indian hemp grease. We need to see that wash day routine and the modified sulfur grease concoction.💜💙💜💙

I have been using hair gease since I was born - lol. You have to know what works for you. It keeps my scalp moisturized for days, especially when I put it on when hair is wet. I can blow dry and style without having to add more product!
Damn I'm so glad I didn't dive down the deep end into these "natural hair products" yet. I recently big chopped and had all these plans to purchase these expensive ass products. Thank God i found this video first.
I can attest to this, after 10 years of running around like a headless chicken. My hair product collection now resembles what it was before I discovered "natural" hair advice, shampoo, conditioner and petroleum jelly with the inclusion of two science backed bond builders (disulfide bonds and protein).
We need all your videos on grease! I'm so happy you're speaking about this. When I told ppl I use grease, they would look at me like I was crazy. Oh well! 💜💙
Blue magic grows your hair I've being using it on my girls hair for some time I've noticed a lot of growth I've stopped due to what I've been hair circulating about it. Over the weekend I've ran out of products I've been using so I went back to Blue magic coconut and I've seen growth within three days I would continue to use it.
So before this natural hair journey, I used grease on my scalp. Blue magic and sulfur 8 etc. my hair loves grease. When I transitioned to using natural products, I have not been able to find anything that kept my hair moisturized in the cold months. In the summer it's easier because I can wet my hair daily. So I think I'm going to go back to what works for me. Thank you for this tutorial and very informative video. I have issues with my scalp too. I will be going back to sulfur 8.
I started using grease agin after ditching it because of all the negative talk. My scalp was always dry and I colluding figure it out. I can't believe I stopped using it because my scalp loves it thanks for the video 🐳
you guys i just took oout my twist I've had them in for three week and all i can say is wow i went from armpit length to almost bra strap length I'm completely shook rn
I’ve been using Blue Magic mixed with Melanin stretch elongating cream on my son’s hair. Every week or every other week, I shampoo, condition and twist his hair. He has type 4 hair and the blue magic and melanin cream keeps his twists fresh and moisturized. I use the same combo for my type 3 hair. My mini twists stay moisturized!!
Grace Osas I love nature’s blessings on my scalp but my hair itself doesn’t care for it ☹️ so I use blue magic Shea butter on my hair. I will try the melanin stretch.
I used hair grease since idk when. That’s what my mother used on my hair and I never stopped even when people called me old fashioned or tried to tell me how bad it was for my hair. But when I would try the products that were supposed to be good for curly hair, my hair would end up dry and break off. Everyone has to do what works for them so for some ppl maybe grease isn’t the thing but I know what my hair needs! So glad to see finally common sense is coming back!
I use it to moisturize my dry skin, for clear none acne face, for my lips, to have softer legs, on my burns literally a must have product in every African house. You might not find lotion in our houses, but you're 100% sure to find some petroleum product like Vaseline. Your hair is goals. 💜💜💜
You are absolutely right!!!! Back in the day, our mothers had those "growing hands"!!!! They knew how to keep that hair right, especially for picture day lol. Blue Magic and Royal Crown hair grease had the #1 thing in it that made our hair grow and prevent breakage...and it was "Castor Oil", which is why when we got that clean hair pressed, we shined at the bus stop like a new penny lol. There's nothing wrong with oiling your scalp with grease twice a week. Wash once a week with a "hand held" detangler(the one mom used that was round with the handle on the top so she could stick her hand through it)and scrub the scalp to remove the grease build up and start the process over again. Grease will forever be my friend. I have type 4 hair so I have no choice. Plus if used lightly, my 2 strand twists come out slaaaayyyyyyyddddd!!!! lol❤️ #Great video
I'm so upset I'm just NOW seeing this video! The whole pandemic I could've been back to my childhood days. All of these products naturals push now have changed the state of my hair. As soon as I use up the last of these jars I'm definitely switching back to grease.
I love petrolatum, too. I just laugh at those people who say "Don't use petrolatum; they use that in machines!" Well the petrolatum and vaseline and mineral oils we use on our skin is super refined and there are not "impurities" in it. Mineral oil is very curl enhancing. I wish I could use it on my hair but it does add too much frizz. Unfortunately because it's a very inexpensive "curl enhancing" product.
People also used baby powder for years thinking its safe...now look at all the lawsuit from people suffering from cancer from long term use. Petrolatum was proven years ago to cause fertility issues in black women but that wasn't an issue years ago because black women were still using it. Now that we have mostly stopped, I see so many Vaseline commercials with black women(where was the black women in all their previous commercials?) trying to get us to start using again. I had suffered from pcos since i was a teen in 1999 and when I went off all petrolatum products about 7 years ago, my symptoms went away within 6 months (something my meds didn't accomplish). Interesting that petrolatum companies address the possible cancer, pore clogging but not the fertility dangers to black women alone. Just because something has been used for years doesn't make it safe. I'm just truly worried for black women at this point and just feel like something shady is going down.
Shanchan Honestly, people are just going back to what works for them. I try to keep my bodycare products as organic as possible as I’m mindful of ingredients, but grease works better for maintaining moisture in my hair that oils, shea butter mixes, etc. I figured if every other product I use is natural, how bad can petroleum really be?
Girl... I feel you! A natural hair expert told me, "petroleum is bad! It's the same thing found in gas." And I still put vaseline on my lips and grease in my hair!!
Great video! Finally, we have a natural sista to set the record straight regarding using hair grease. I think women are shying away or just ashamed of using hair grease because they created a bad image of the product as if it's the worst thing to put in your hair and to say they would rather use cream or oils instead. I was told many times not to use grease on my own hair. It works for me because my hair type is 4c to the 10th power! It is super course and I have far less breakage and dryness with petroleum grease than with using just oils. Oils are too thin for my hair and scalp, and it doesn't last very long otherwise it will become brittle and falls out. Now my hair is growing healthier, softer and stronger than it's ever been.

Makes sense as to why my hair was so healthy when i was younger. It was Blue Magic, Indian Hemp and Pink Lotion. Im losing my hair and its so dry. Im going back to grease and you just gained a new subbie lol
Indian Hemp! I can't find it anywhere it is the best moisturizer for my hair.
I went back to hair grease and sulfates too. My hair is thanking me. Coconut oil and Shea butter might work for the 4A/4B girls but my 4C hair needs heavy duty sealing lol
Yes, same! I tried coconut oil 1 last time 2 weeks ago and I was like yeah no.
U right.
4A low porosity and Shea butter just sits on my hair and stares at me
Me too. Can't believe I ever left it

The information you gave us about petroleum is way more interesting than my chemistry class

I recently started using grease instead of pure oils (e.g. coconut, olive etc) to seal my hair and my hair loves it. It's softer, longer and thicker. Pure oils are now part of my pre poo regime and works well there. Thanks 4 this video!!!!
Same hair I use the oils for pre poo
I use my oils for hot oil treatment and aloe vera juice for prepoo every washday.
This. No oil seems to keep my hair moisturized. They say "don't be heavy-handed" but it literally just evaporates
❤
Nicholette a.k.a Nicky tell me 😭 I’m over doing it with these curl jellies just to step out with a dry poof
Naomi A oil isn’t supposed to moisture your hair, just seal in the water etc moisture
I feel u. I live in Ghana 🇬🇭. A hot temperate zone. Oils only don't work. Grease is the best final sealant.
I despise most grease smells and slathering that mess in my hair. But, I must do what I must do.

Yes. My mother used to grease my scalp with Apex and I had the most thickness, longest and healthiest hair with no dandruff. Jumped on the natural oils bandwagon as an adult and my scalp and hair hates it. I can’t go 3 days without flakes popping up. I’m going back to grease.
Does it help with dry ends?

@@ninalou4629 hey nina if your ends are dry the best thing to do is deep condition your hair weekly, it works so much better if you deep condition your hair overnight but you'll just have to be consistent, be sure to dilute those ends, put more conditioner on the ends of your hair, it should look like a slob when your done applying it, I have rugged hard ends too and it works for me, also get those ends cut if you haven't already. Garnetta Johnson me too but do you have issues when putting it on your scalp?
HEAVEN some scalps can’t handle it. I can’t. It makes my hair itchy. I just use on my strands
Tasha G Try sulfur 8. Oils and regular greases made my scalp itch, and it would somehow end up being flaky and greasy at the same time. Sulfur 8 takes that away.
MAD World Productions thank you I will give it a try
Garnetta Johnson me too! That’s why I don’t use oils and haven’t been for a while now
I will never forget being a newbie to natural hair and getting the worst advice from what I call natural hair puriest.
Yaass!! After years of crown breakage, I decided to use hair grease and sulfur 8 six months ago. I wish I'd known years ago. Crown problem solved!
My crown is thinning. I will do the same as you and see if it helps. How long did it take for you to see results?

I no longer use oils I just use this.🤷🏾♀️
Do you purchase lanolin at the store because I've been looking for quit some time. Or do you purchase online?
@@Bunnypop_princess I purchase online on Amazon. You can either get the oil version or the original version which is the thick jelly. I specifically get mine from the company "Now" they have both if you have a preference.
@@kiml1226 hey there👋🏾 thank you so much for your response.
Man....oils made me break out
I didn't know this about Lanolin, meaning it is essentially organic right???
I completely agree with everything you said 👏🏾👏🏾
I have 3a-3c hair and honestly grease is life. Does it tend to weigh my hair down if I use TOO MUCH ? Ofcourse but if you use a small amount and spread it evenly on that scalp or on the ends giiiirl it’s magic. Grease is that bitch. Period.
I most certainly agree with you!
I'm accustom to my grease yes I was converted too I'm encouraged to go back cause my hair was long...but what is 2a's and 4c's
All truths spoken here in this post!!
I grew up on GLOVERS MANE... press and curl every two weeks ... worn the Lucille Ball hair style. Hair was gorgeous!!! I hate I started using relaxers. Years later I'm back to natural!!!

Me too lol I got braids in and now I’m using it for that hair growth
Ryan Payne I use to use grease as a child but stopped using it when I relaxed my hair. I went natural a few years back and I never used it. My scalp is super itchy and often inflamed. I’m going to get that sulphur 8. Truth be told, I’ve used the shampoo in the past but it made my hair dry. I’ll start with the grease and then see if it makes a difference.
They sell Indian hemp at the dollar store so I'm in luck!

Omg I wouldn’t use grease because everybody is all for oils now but my hair sucks oils up when I use grease my hair is so soft & it lasts in my hair longer! I’m so happy somebody is saying this❤️
I found this too. Just went back to blue magic a couple days ago and my hair is so much different.
Aaquil Ali Jamaican Black Castor Oil
I’ve been using the Sulphur 8 clean & fresh from a local beauty supply store since 2016 because I never liked the smell of the original in the yellow or blue containers. I love it when I have box braids, crotchet hairstyles or sew ins helps keep me from scratching my scalp raw
If you mix the Cantu product with water and spray it in your hair it works well, but always grease the scalp.
Yes; same here. I am learning that parrafin and petrolatum help SOOO much to protect my scalp skin. Further, pomades containing those and BEESWAX are helping with length retention... I can't wait to braid for the summer... And then press in October.. it'll be like 14 inches!!!!

True to their nature!
what kind of grease?

Tragically, lye based adult and kiddie perms came along💀 black women/girls began to struggle more with damaged hair. OKAY RESEARCH!!! RUclipsrs need to do their research before publicly giving out information. I meannnnn let’s face it, that’s where mostly everyone of this generation is getting their information, unfortunately. A lot of miseducation and misinformation floating around.
We have to research as well. We can't just ride with what their telling us
B L U E agreed
Sulfate free shampoos amd cowashing became so popular that hair grease lost popularity because you cant wash out grease without sulfate shampoo.
Not true! I use sulfate free shampoo and I grease my hair and scalp and it washes out completely.
@Anja Samuel No I don't...
@Anja Samuel .........
Mia Porche which shampoo do you use?
annanne honestly you can use whatever shampoo you want as long as it has sulfates in which cuts the grease. I use VO5 or L Oreal to get the grease out and you only need 1 pass through to get it out.

He has type 4 hair and the blue magic and melanin cream keeps his twists fresh and moisturized. I use the same combo for my type 3 hair. My mini twists stay moisturized!!
I'm thinking of using melanin haircare with nature's blessings. I hope it works! 🤞🏽
@@thefinelife2247 they do not work the same
Girl...
Girl I just started back using blue magic grease and I forgot how soft made my hair . Love ya girl❤️❤️❤️❤️👑
Me too! I was struggling trying to find something to keep my natural hair from getting like a brillo pad
And blue magic is it!!
Latrise Freeman yesss😍😍😍😍
Can we see your modified version? This is great! I’ve gone back to grease, and my itchy scalp and buildup has stopped!
I use it as well just and blackseed oil and castor oil in my mix love it
💙💙💙 I love grease I don’t care what people say 🤷🏾♀️
