Giiiirl I stopped listening to those “natural hair gurus” when those same people started saying they’re going back to relaxers and that natural hair “isn’t for everybody” when they got tired of the trend 😂👋🏾
the funny thing is how is the hair that grows out of your OWN HEAD "not for you"? just say you did it bc it was popular and go dont discourage others bc of your lack of commitment. i swear these "gurus" get on my nerves
They had to discredit grease to get their products sold..I’ve used grease my entire life, and at 54, I still have my full head of natural hair. Thank God.
I'm almost 60 and my grandma said to use certain hair grease on our hair... she was totally right! I even make sure my grandchildren are using them....
Going back to grease. Done spending all my hard earned money on the fancy crap that's done absolutely nothing for my hair. Going old school,my hair demands it.
I’m one of the ones that jumped on the natural hair train and wasted too much dam time and money. My hair is the dryest it has ever been in my entire life! I am DONE and going back to the basics.
Every so often, people will come to tell black women to try this weird stuff. They gave us perms, jerry curls, and then now..stop using grease. Now we are on code and we know we just need to let all those people comments fly out the window. Our hair can curl naturally and we don't need jerry curl. We can flat iron our hair. We do not need a perm. Grease helps 4c hair grow long. I lost so much hair trying out this other stuff.
My hair got so dry, I started to get anxious. 100s of dollars... it was so simple. The grease seals in the moisture and keeps in your hair. Sometimes simplicity is the secret.
I just went back to grease two weeks ago and whew chile my hair is so soft, moisturized, and I have no hassle with detangling. I mixed my blue magic grease with Dax, sulfur 8, and peppermint oil. I grease my scalp and seal my ends twice a week. Our ancestors been using grease for decades and I recall a lot of little girls running around with healthy hair and all of their edges.
@@yesitsthattime Sis to this DAY I can't find dog mange! That use to keep my scalp flake free and grow my hair out fast! I'm about to stop silk pressing my hair and go back to being natural!
I’m so irritated that for years I’ve been listening to RUclips naturals that convinced us to ditch grease and pink lotion. Even tho it was growing our hair down our backs. . I’m so happy that your confirming that it really wasn’t so bad after all and I’m going back to my old roots. Tired of spending $30+ on products just for it to say no petroleum or sulfates
Same. I'm not gonna lie. I was one of those naturals that screamed to the top of my lungs that grease is bad because all of the natural I looked up to said the same. I looked down on people who used grease, but now I gotta swallow my words because it's not bad at all. Last month, I used grease for the first time in a decade. My itchy scalp went away IMMEDIATELY! My scalp was so bad I had to wash my hair once a week and no later or else the itching would be unbearable. I could not wear braids for more than two weeks. Now my hair feels amazing and soft and my scalp feels so relieved. For me, this is a perfect reminder that: 1) Don't follow the bandwagon blindly. 2) Let people do what THEY want with their bodies and stop judging them. Lesson learned.
I listened to natural hair gurus on here for years. My hair became thin and stopped growing. Now I apply Sulfur 8 directly to my scalp the way my mom did when I was little and had a head full of thick, luscious hair.
As a bald man, the only grease i use is to clog my arteries... but i still love watching your videos cause it helps me prep for a daughter someday! very insightful.
Wait a minute wait a minute. Do y’all see the editing, the background research. The looks being served, and last but NOT least her HAIR. Almost got lost in it all and forgot why I clicked, but I’m glad I did.
I went back to hair grease and sulfates too. My hair is thanking me. Coconut oil and Shea butter might work for the 4A/4B girls but my 4C hair needs heavy duty sealing lol
V I’m 3c and I used coconut oil, I hated it. Especially in cold weather... for some reason the coconut oil hardened in my hair and made it brittle and stiff
Grease stopped my scalp from insane itching! I was using just oils on my scalp and didn’t understand why my scalp was soooo itchy. I told my mom and she told me to stop listening to those RUclips girls and get some Sulfur 8 lmao! My scalp is soooo good now. Rarely itches.
I got back in the grease game last week because of you... And my hair stretches more with grease. Gonna use it for the rest of the year and see what happens.. The 2020s might just be the Grease Boom....
Because of this video, i went back to using grease, ( sulfur 8, doo gro, and blue magic) on me and my daughters hair, and it was a life saver!! our hair is think , long and healthy. My mom and granny knew what was up, should have listened.
I have low prosperity hair and whewww chileeee🤦🏾♀️ I just wanna drench my hair in water all the time. My hair is dry almost all the time, I gotta get some grease ASAP
I have pretty low self confidence about my hair and the fact that i’m black but seeing you reminds me the beauty of being black, you’re so pretty!! Imma try and work on myself and feel more confident ÙwÚ, imma start growing my hair and use it to its fullest
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this beautiful Nigerian sister, gorgeous with beautuful afro I also enjoyed that mini petroleum jelly lesson. Thanks sis!!
@@reedabrat1165 yes it is... Make sure you start with clean wet hair, apply your moisturizer/leave in, then a small amount of Vaseline to each section of your hair so it seals everything in.
Makes sense as to why my hair was so healthy when i was younger. It was Blue Magic, Indian Hemp and Pink Lotion. Im losing my hair and its so dry. Im going back to grease and you just gained a new subbie lol
The FDA doesn't carry alot of weight for me, they approve of my cancer meds even though it has awful side effects. But at least I'm cancer free,......for now
Why has no one talked about your editing style and the amount of effort she puts into her videos. 👏🏾 love the researched info and how simple it was to understand. I watch your videos for the info but also your aesthetic editing style ❤️❤️❤️ GOD Bless
I literally decided to use my Blue Magic today because my hair was suffering extreme dryness. My hair feels better than ever. I can’t believe I let people convince me to put my grease away when it was the key to major hair growth my entire life.
I am sooooo stubborn. I really wanted the liquid oils to work for my hair but it's like they evaporate in this heat (Caribbean) and my hair just got dry sooo fast. And I can never muster the energy to even mist daily, oil my scalp every 2-3 days. It was just too much, but when I tell you Blue Magic, is my hair's bestfriend. It stays moisturised for the whole week. Cleanse, Deep condition/hot oil treatment/protein treatment, leave in, GREASE.
Yes. My mother used to grease my scalp with Apex and I had the most thickness, longest and healthiest hair with no dandruff. Jumped on the natural oils bandwagon as an adult and my scalp and hair hates it. I can’t go 3 days without flakes popping up. I’m going back to grease.
@@ninalou4629 hey nina if your ends are dry the best thing to do is deep condition your hair weekly, it works so much better if you deep condition your hair overnight but you'll just have to be consistent, be sure to dilute those ends, put more conditioner on the ends of your hair, it should look like a slob when your done applying it, I have rugged hard ends too and it works for me, also get those ends cut if you haven't already. Grease is a personal choice I'm sure it'll make a wonderful moisturizer once your done washing
I recently started using grease instead of pure oils (e.g. coconut, olive etc) to seal my hair and my hair loves it. It's softer, longer and thicker. Pure oils are now part of my pre poo regime and works well there. Thanks 4 this video!!!!
So right... Because we've always ised it..... We grow girls hair with it and the hair arebin good condition..... When we become grown woman starting other product, expensive ones.... We start noticing breakages etc..... 🤣🤣🤣
really? I thought the african woman was only usinf shea butter and chebe'.. Im about to go back to grease! SO many say dont use it because it is petroleum a crude oil and bad for the body
I love grease! Growing up my mom used it on my hair and I had INCHES hunty! I mean waist length inches! She would press my hair with and it prevented it from reverting by repelling the moisture. It was not until I was about 18 that I quit using grease because I made the mistake of listening to these ignorant stylists. After I quit using it, I had a very difficult time retaining length and the breakage and split ends became my life. My presses also never lasted and I consistently got heat damage. I think black stylists adopted the no grease thing from white stylists in hair school or something. Moral of the story is I will never abandon grease again!
Lizzie McGowan they had to. Always listening to whites whose ways of doing things are for THEM, they love to then fan all that out to others like it’s a universal fit. True to their nature!
Janiya Gowdy she didn’t say white people say that, she was saying that natural hair gurus where trying to get us to do our hair like them, when our textures are obviously very different and have extremely different needs product wise
Ive been using a mixture of blue magic conditioning grease ( The og one that every black person knows abt) the small yellow bottle of sulfur 8 and Jamaican black castor oil on my scalp every other day with a scalp massage and i have seen SOOO much growth in just a couple weeks and im so glad there’s another black girl who uses it to🥰
As a black boy I started my hair journey 2017 . I’ve been doing everything the past 3 years but NOTHING has ever worked for my hair (4c) no matter how much product I applied scalp was always itchy always dry and flaky . My hairstyles could never last more than 2 weeks cause it’ll get just wayyy too itchy , I’d cave in and take my shower cap off and just let the water run in it . Nothing felt better . My stylist told me to try this thing called sulfur 8 and it worked great ! I just couldn’t take the smell . Fast forward my hair is for the first time and 3 years healthy because of my mixture of doo grow, sulfur 8 , jbco, and peppermint oil. Never will I ever go back to Shea moisture , Cantu or those other fake fancy hairproducts (besides their shampoos and conditioners they actually work)
Koriander Yander thankyou . It really took to 2020 for me to find what worked for my hair 😭. My hair coulda been to the floor by now but it barely comes past my mouth
I’ve been using the Sulphur 8 clean & fresh from a local beauty supply store since 2016 because I never liked the smell of the original in the yellow or blue containers. I love it when I have box braids, crotchet hairstyles or sew ins helps keep me from scratching my scalp raw
Yes; same here. I am learning that parrafin and petrolatum help SOOO much to protect my scalp skin. Further, pomades containing those and BEESWAX are helping with length retention... I can't wait to braid for the summer... And then press in October.. it'll be like 14 inches!!!!
I use blue magic and creme of nature products. All for $20 where I was spending $20 per product. I’m not ever turning away. My hair is soft and moisturized! The other “natural” stuff kept me dry and irritated.
I'm a guy and I been growing my mohawk for 3 years.. I was one of those people listening to people saying don't use hair grease just use a leave in conditioner and hair oil... I tell you probably on the 4th day my hair scalp would be itching I had to go back to useing blue magic super grow no hair itching... I put a leave in conditioner and blue magic in my hair every 3 or 4 days and I just use cantu curl cream everyday to sponge my hair that's it... People need to listen to other people about useing hair grease
I use Blue Magic and my hair LOVES it. I have very dry 3c, 4a hair and I apply water, Hawaiian Silky and Blue Magic and my hair is so soft and silky and I'm finally retaining length😄😄😄. Btw, my hair absolutely hates coconut, olive oil and most oils; not sure why, just does. Long live hair grease❤
Today/last night I essentially slathered myself in grease and Vaseline from head to toe. Best skin day all winter. And yes I thoroughly moisturized the night before after my shower with olive oil. My skin soaked it up. But guess what stayed moisturized? My knees, elbows, and feet which I used Vaseline to top off. Keeping that same energy all the rest of the year. ✌🏾👌🏾
Yes! This video has actually been one of the reasons why my hair has literally transformed and I've been able to retain my length, experience less breakage, and avoid split ends or even mid shaft splits. I went back to using hair grease after watching this and my hair has NEVER been the same! Thanks for sharing the facts love!
I had atopic dermatitis on the nape of my neck, and it worked its way into my scalp. I went back to blue magic mixed with JBCO for about 5 monthS later, i have 3 inchesss of new growth, and no flakes, no itch, no rash
I think the same thing is happening to me. After many years of following natural rules I'm just discovering why my scalp is acting a FOOL and never had these issues growing up. None of these "approved" remedies work either. I'm heading to Meijer to buy some sulfur 8.
Me too...when I became naturalist I didn't know what to do with my hair so I listened to beauty gurus about not using grease ....so I was using oils and other expensive products that didn't even work for me.... Then I finally went back to basic with grease and my hair is flourishing
Chelsea E. Raise your hair with the Apple cider vinegar. You can DIY or Cantu has a ACV raise. It’s gonna mess up the braids a little by adding water. But it stops the itch. And then grease your scalp
Silicon mix shampoo African pride olive oil leave in carrot cholesterol DC and kuza Indian hemp or coconut grease by blue magic has me an afro in less than 3 months
Job neatly done Miss Zara, I appreciate the time you took to actually research the petrolatum and educate those that aren't knowledgeable about it. Instead of just being dragged along with the bandwagon of false conspiracies! Thank you!
I truly appreciate the amount of work you put into this video. I let all fiftyleven ads play through without skipping🙂 My scalp feels like it NEVER produces any sebum. I’m done. The grease is on its way.
I use the same shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner it's a life saving for my hair, I use all type of products including natural hair products they all left my hair dry and hard except for Aussie. I will never go back to another hair products again
I love grease too and its the ONLY product I recommend. People seem to get annoyed at this recommendation; I think they want a better, more expensive, modern solution. But the truth is that grease is a product that helps what naturally grows out of your hair thrive...a lot of people want a product that will magically morph their hair into something less BLACK...
@@noneynoney295 Yes! My great grandmother used it. She was about 98 when she passed with about 4-6 wrinkles I n her entire face. She swore by it. Same with both grandmothers, aunts, mother and me. Try it!
@@georgiapeach310 If my eczema will allow me, I will try it again while I only got two lines on my forehead, crows feet when I smile, and a little nasal fold, along with drinking plenty seltzer water, because my acid reflux won't allow me to go without carbonation. Hopefully it will help with the rings around the top part of mg chest, and deep line on the back of my neck ( I am going on 44 ).
@@georgiapeach310 Bless your very spirit! ☺ I would like to do things instead of just stay relying on my genetics! Help things along! 😉 I am open to things like Vaseline or moisturizer, scrubs, masks, facial steaming, or facials, but no thanks to things that alters, like Botox or Plastic Surgery for me. I would only do that if it is not for vanity reason. The only exception would be if I get loose skin once I lose weight ( 95 pounds.
I've never used grease before but I do use pure lanolin which is sheep sebum. It's a really really thick jelly like substance, perfect for sealing in moisture and delivering it. I stopped using it (because of the natural hair movement) which was my biggest mistake. I'm back on it and I already grew 2 inches and a half in 2 months. Lanolin is in a lot of greases and pomades cuz it's really thick. So you may have used it before. I no longer use oils I just use this.🤷🏾♀️
@@Bunnypop_princess I purchase online on Amazon. You can either get the oil version or the original version which is the thick jelly. I specifically get mine from the company "Now" they have both if you have a preference.
I didn't know this about Lanolin, meaning it is essentially organic right??? It's a main ingredient in a lot of hair greases and is also demonised by the hair nazis.....
I will never forget being a newbie to natural hair and getting the worst advice from what I call natural hair puriest. Use all natural, co-wash often and use shampoo raely, etc... My hair was a mess. I stopped listen to the "rules" and worked to find out what worked for my hair. My hair is healthy and grows like a weed. Just as it did when I was relaxed by the way. My point is, do what works for you. I see people making videos like their they knows what works for every single natural haired person. When I have found out the hard way that even people that appear to have the same hair "type"...their hair can react differently to products. Anyway, it is interesting to listen to people say hair grease is of the devil when back in the day it was used and women and children had healthy hair with it.
That’s all I can use. When I was a loose natural I tried different products my hair was so dry but when I put that blue magic in it was over. I have locs now and that’s all use. I don’t put a lot and I use it when I get a retwist everybody hair is different my hair loves grease 😍
Omg I wouldn’t use grease because everybody is all for oils now but my hair sucks oils up when I use grease my hair is so soft & it lasts in my hair longer! I’m so happy somebody is saying this❤️
I believe this ! Growing up my mom used blue grease and pink oil lotion in my hair! My hair was long & healthy down my back! Now following all these new natural hair do’s and don’t have us loosing our hair or almost bald ! Smh 🤦🏽♀️
I shaved my head about two weeks ago and all I’ve used is grease, oil, and water and my thinning spots that I had before are growing in with the rest of my hair. I can’t wait to see the growth after a month. I’m also taking biotin too!
I cut my hair in April.... I mean as low as yours.... And I've been using this grease called, Virgin hair fertiliser... I heat it up with neem oil and apply... I have grown an inch since then... hope this helps
I recently big chop and i was confuse what to do with my hair. Since I was child my hair was down to my back. I put in braids last month and been using nothing but water and grease when I tell you the growth I have gotten.
Creole Belle I literally use the sulfur, doo gro ,Shea butter and water lol. Then I put a hair growth oil through my scalp and I leave it in braids or a scarf or I do the bare minimum of touching it. I only touch it if my braids need to be redone or something other then that I leave it alone. Not only length but my hair feel strong and healthy
E I mean I always had super long hair my whole life till I cut it even now it’s growing back pretty well I wish I could post pictures lol but yeah true
Omg this video is a game changer! 4c girl here and I stopped using greases years ago becuase of all the chatter about it being unhealthy. But then I started to develop a dry and super flakey scalp using only oils on my scals until I decided to use sulfur 8 a month ago and no more.! My goal is to have waist length 4c hair and I feel pretty confident going about reintroducing these into my regimine regularly...not to mention MUCH less expensive.
Thank you so much for this video. I stopped using Vaseline in my hair because the "community" said it clogs your pores, but without it, my hair has suffered greatly. I, too have really low porosity hair, and my scalp gets really dry. So all these oils and natural hair potions without the grease has been pointless to my hair growth. This video gives me confidence in returning to my old dry hair solution. Thank you!!
I didn't want to get too excited, but I greased my scalp after I saw your videos. For the last 2 and a half years, my scalp has gotten very bad and I'm grateful to still have a head full of hair. I've researched everything from psoriasis to sever seborrheic dermatitis. I tried everything that they said to DO. Diet changes, water intake, all of it. It got worse. I was pulling scales of skin off of my scalp. After every wash, I would do my regimen, and then my scalp would start to flake and crumble. I can't do protective styles because my scalp can't go 3 or more days without having to be washed. I've been beyond stressed because nothing was working, from neem oil to that wild growth oil (which I thought was the answer). I wash my hair once a week and ended up washing twice a week to avoid buildup, threw out all of my "bad" shampoo and got new hair products, but nothing has helped my scalp until I found your videos. All these "natural" hair products did nothing but create my scalp issues. It's very possible that I have been suffering from sever allergic reactions. When I first went natural, I didn't grease my scalp often because I HATED doing it, but I never had issues with severe dandruff (or what I'm dealing with now) until I started using all these products. I greased my scalp and saw immediate results. These last few days have had me on edge, but my hairline in the front and back aren't peeling, my scalp doesn't feel tight with pain, it's not itchy, and usually on day 3 after a wash I start to have issues. I'm waiting for it to get bad and it hasn't happened yet. To clarify, I'm not putting grease over scaly skin, the scales and flaky scalp aren't even there which makes me I'm hopeful because they have yet to form. To think all this time I was going through this for nothing. I was hell bent on not using old school products because article after article said don't do this or that. Yet, here I am now because all this Miss Jessie knows a lady named Carol who's daughter has a pet Cantu ain't working, lol. If this works, I won't be going back to using all those oils, gels/custards, and curl cremes. I know other's have their reasons for not wanting to use grease, and that's okay. I do legit hope this helps someone who is out there suffering day to day like I have been. Wish us luck!
Girl the same problem you had with your scalp is the same for me..last year I developed scalp problem I tried everything wild growth oil..coconut oil all types of oils. I'm relaxed so it was hard when relaxer day come because my hair couldn't relaxed bone straight by the time the hair stylist applied the relaxed it time to rinse out...I try to protective style and dry flakes all over when I pull out the protective style. I was planning to go a dermatologist or a scalp specialist..changes in diet and nothing
I would wash my hair weekly and by second day my scalp was a mess again...itching to buring sensation so I totally understand..I finally decided last week to get sulfur 8 the yellow bottle and do gro mega long mix the two and add the wild growth old yellow bottle few drops and let me tell u no flakes no nothing no itching I feel so relief...I made a vow I will be using this till summer and record my journey
Cosmic Dust I’ve dealt with these exact symptoms as you. But I recently stumbled on a combination that worked. Any shampoo that contains coal tar and an OTC ointment that contains clobestasol propionate. Ever since I used this combo my scalp has not flaked at all. Please do your own research and see if it works for you. All the best.
Awesome testimonial...I noticed my own hair thinning because I was on board with not using hair grease....mega flaking and scalp irritation. Except if i do the bagging method. I am back to my Sulphur -8 and grease.
@@sueja876 I recall the chemical burns I used to get when I was relaxed, so I know you had to be in so much discomfort. I'm so glad you finally got relief and I hope that keeps working for you!
It's not the petroleum I'm concerned about so much as the other sketchy ingredients. Here's a tip: I've been using petroleum on my skin since 8 yrs old. I'm now 41 and my skin is FLAWLESS.
Grease has changed my scalp for the better. I used to have so much dandruff after I stopped using grease but I'm glad for videos like yours that educate.
🧢it's unfortunate that I can't use grease! For some reason my hair falls out when I do! There was one brand, Bellrose Black, that my mother used to use in my hair when I was a child! It made my hair grow like weed, but I can't find it anywhere! Sigh!!
Thank you so much to taking the time out to actually explain and cite your sources. I'm tired of paying 25$ for small dropper bottles of oil. I'm going back to using my original stuff indian hemp grease, sulfur 8 and hair food. And your beautiful btw lol had to put that out there
My hair was the longest when my mother used hair grease. I still used it on my scalp when it’s braided but I’ll use it more for my Bantu knot twist outs
My aunt is in her 50s and been using hair grease and water all her life and her hair is so long and beautiful. Mad I got tricked into thinking because it wasn’t expensive or fancy that it wasn’t good enough for my hair 🙄
Alopecia is caused by inflammation. If you’re ever taken antibiotics without taking probiotics then you may have Candida overgrowth which causes inflammation which causes leaky gut, leading to sibo and a host of other diseases, including alopecia. I used to have long, thick hair, but then had eczema and hair loss. I had bald spots, breakage, and bald edges as well. When I dealt with these core issues, my hair started growing back. I also went on an anti inflammatory diet. Now that my hair is growing back, I want it long, like I had it in the past. She’s right. Ever since I started using grease, I’m getting length retention.
@@deborahevans2985 Look up Candida overgrowth, look up leaky gut to see if you have any symptoms. Go to thecandidadiet.com for info and recipes. Look up antinflammatory diet but make sure it coincides with anti candida diet. If you have candida, then no processed foods, nothing white to eat (no bread, rice, pasta & potatoes, sugar), no alcohol, soy, gluten, dairy. If you have stomach issues, go to a gastro doctor and see if you have, SIBO, IBS or any other gastro problem. Many people have bloating and didn't know its candida related. I went to a functional doctor and a gastro doctor and was positive for candida, eczema and sibo. I took natural antibiotics like oil of oregano, garlic with allicin, etc. I took yogurt, ghee, bone broth, collagen, etc to heal my stomach. I soak my hair overnight with mixture of natural oils (neem oil, olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil, blackseed oil) with aloe gel before I go to bed on night before I wash my hair (once every 2 weeks with gentle shampoo). I rinse it out and shampoo hair, then I condition with rice water for half hour with heat cap, then rinse out with water, spray my hair with apple cider vinegar & water mixture to detangle hair and comb through, rinse acv out, dry excess water out with towel, then use natural grease on my wet hair and braid 6 to 7 braids and let air dry.
Most of us grew up and grew our hair on grease. My mom used Dax on our hair and even the Dax pressing oil and curl wax. So crazy last week I went to the beauty supply to buy them all now a week later stumbling upon this video confirms what I was thinking that old school in many cases works the best especially in this regard as over the past few years of having new hair struggles I've never had before. Thanks a million for this video and sharing with us all.
Ryan Payne I use to use grease as a child but stopped using it when I relaxed my hair. I went natural a few years back and I never used it. My scalp is super itchy and often inflamed. I’m going to get that sulphur 8. Truth be told, I’ve used the shampoo in the past but it made my hair dry. I’ll start with the grease and then see if it makes a difference.
Tasha G Try sulfur 8. Oils and regular greases made my scalp itch, and it would somehow end up being flaky and greasy at the same time. Sulfur 8 takes that away.
annanne honestly you can use whatever shampoo you want as long as it has sulfates in which cuts the grease. I use VO5 or L Oreal to get the grease out and you only need 1 pass through to get it out.
I know this is becoming a “thing” on RUclips but honestly this has been a tool. But because the beauty community didn’t say it was, it wasn’t. It’s just oil in a different state. I loved this video and I definitely subscribed ❤️
It constantly amazes me the bad rap grease gets, how many of us literally got the hair wash & "greased" scalp every week or two??? Mmmmm..it worked then but now???, 🤔Me personally, loving my sulphur 8💖
Yus! I went back to grease too! All the products I used before just gunked up my hair, left it dry and breaking and my scalp itchy. Started using water and grease. My hair smells good, my twists are soft and juicy and my scalp feels great!

For me, this is a perfect reminder that:

I am sooooo stubborn. I really wanted the liquid oils to work for my hair but it's like they evaporate in this heat (Caribbean) and my hair just got dry sooo fast. And I can never muster the energy to even mist daily, oil my scalp every 2-3 days. It was just too much, but when I tell you Blue Magic, is my hair's bestfriend. It stays moisturised for the whole week.

I am having the same problems too using natural oils and it just dry scalp every day
@@ninalou4629 hey nina if your ends are dry the best thing to do is deep condition your hair weekly, it works so much better if you deep condition your hair overnight but you'll just have to be consistent, be sure to dilute those ends, put more conditioner on the ends of your hair, it should look like a slob when your done applying it, I have rugged hard ends too and it works for me, also get those ends cut if you haven't already. Grease is a personal choice I'm sure it'll make a wonderful moisturizer once your done washing

True to their nature!
what kind of grease?

Ive been using a mixture of blue magic conditioning grease ( The og one that every black person knows abt) the small yellow bottle of sulfur 8 and Jamaican black castor oil on my scalp every other day with a scalp massage and i have seen SOOO much growth in just a couple weeks and im so glad there’s another black girl who uses it to🥰
What hairstyles do you often wear that lets you do this?
Aaquil Ali Jamaican Black Castor Oil
I’ve been using the Sulphur 8 clean & fresh from a local beauty supply store since 2016 because I never liked the smell of the original in the yellow or blue containers. I love it when I have box braids, crotchet hairstyles or sew ins helps keep me from scratching my scalp raw
If you mix the Cantu product with water and spray it in your hair it works well, but always grease the scalp.
I put a leave in conditioner and blue magic in my hair every 3 or 4 days and I just use cantu curl cream everyday to sponge my hair that's it... People need to listen to other people about useing hair grease
So you don’t use grease every day. What does you use on your hair on the days you don’t use grease

Please listen to her. I stopped using grease and developed a skin condition in my scalp due to dry skin it progressed and turned into Dermatitis.

I believe this ! Growing up my mom used blue grease and pink oil lotion in my hair! My hair was long & healthy down my back! Now following all these new natural hair do’s and don’t have us loosing our hair or almost bald ! Smh 🤦🏽♀️
I see a lot of naturals, me included, going back to grease. My scalp is thriving!
I shaved my head about two weeks ago and all I’ve used is grease, oil, and water and my thinning spots that I had before are growing in with the rest of my hair. I can’t wait to see the growth after a month. I’m also taking biotin too!
Yesssss u look so freakin cute! I just shaved mine today lol, I'ma for sure be using grease
As you should sis❤️
I cut my hair in April.... I mean as low as yours....
And I've been using this grease called, Virgin hair fertiliser... I heat it up with neem oil and apply... I have grown an inch since then... hope this helps
And you are adoorable🥺🥺🥺
Nani ki thank you so much!
I also put vasiline on my face at the end of my skin care routine
I recently discovered this as well, awesome
Yes it’s amazing around the eyes!
Me too if you have dry skin it definitely is a good product to use to seal in moisture a dermatologist told me
I was last weeks old when I found out blue magic have their own petroleum jelly, I’ve been using it and so far it’s working miracles for my skin🥰🥵
E I use the sulfur , doo gro, Shea butter and oil. Then I just use a growth oil for my scalp
Sunnysideaudrey does it matter what growth oil you use?
Sunnysideaudrey do you think you could make a yt video about your formula and put pictures in it? I would watch and subscribe !! 🥺🥺👉🏽👈🏽
Running to the beauty supply for grease before prices go up lmao. 💙 super helpful video.
CeeFoxx I clicked on amazon so fast to order because I’m y too lazy to go to the store lol
Going back to hair grease was the best thing I ever did for my hair in years!
Yoooo I was just talking to my husband how I got so wrapped up in this RUclips guru stuff that I forgot the OG's like grease.
I know right
Thank you so much for this video.
You use petroleum on your face after you cleanse?
T Amza Same here 59 flawless thanks to petroleum
👍🏾 yup 59 skin flawless
It's not surprising, petroleum is a great occlusive for the skin, it keeps the moisture in :)
What kinda petroleum like vaseline?
The parts where she shows damaged hair was so graphic. I got scared😂😂
This made me laugh! Man! Grease is saving my hair again
Yaass!! After years of crown breakage, I decided to use hair grease and sulfur 8 six months ago. I wish I'd known years ago. Crown problem solved!
My crown is thinning. I will do the same as you and see if it helps. How long did it take for you to see results?
Daaaaaang mom! You really were not lying when u said these natural hair gurus "are liars who don't want ur hair to grow: LMAO
🤣🤣
I don't care what age we are, listen to M♥️M
🤣🤣🤣🤣😫😫😫 it’s true tho
Grease has changed my scalp for the better. I used to have so much dandruff after I stopped using grease but I'm glad for videos like yours that educate.
💙💙 I like grease with my braid outs. I’ve noticed less hair shedding during wash day and longer moisturized hair 💙💙
And your beautiful btw lol had to put that out there
So you don’t use any more oils like argan or anything? Just like blue magic grease?
Couldn’t agree more. Say it sis
Your voice is not monotone, rather calming. Keep being you; your info comes over just fine.
You’re so pretty, it’s distracting 😩
Fungirl Lindsay literally 😂😍
Fungirl Lindsay fr
My hair was the longest when my mother used hair grease. I still used it on my scalp when it’s braided but I’ll use it more for my Bantu knot twist outs
My aunt is in her 50s and been using hair grease and water all her life and her hair is so long and beautiful. Mad I got tricked into thinking because it wasn’t expensive or fancy that it wasn’t good enough for my hair 🙄
I stopped listening to those “natural hair gurus” who advised against grease and sulfates a long time ago.
I stay with blue magic
T. Moore YewKnow How long is your hair?
My hair is at armpit length
T. Moore YewKnow me too! Been natural for 11 years after my last perm. My scalp needs grease lol
April Dawn I never stopped using grease (blue magic) since I have hair on my head and my hair is mid my back. Im 19 now
I know right,I'm staying with my grease
She is stunning... she is smart... she is intelligent... she is helping us... Thank you! Oh, BTW, any help for women with horrible alopecia? Thanks!
Selsun Blue shampoo
Groganix conditioner
Cholesterol Conditioner for deep conditioning
Olive oil
Blue Magic grease
I have alopecia too..
@@telthatruth7533 Thank you so much, where do I start?
I went out and bought the Blue Magic with Indian Hemp because of you! 😂😂😂
Hahaha
Me too lol I got braids in and now I’m using it for that hair growth
Ryan Payne I use to use grease as a child but stopped using it when I relaxed my hair. I went natural a few years back and I never used it. My scalp is super itchy and often inflamed. I’m going to get that sulphur 8. Truth be told, I’ve used the shampoo in the past but it made my hair dry. I’ll start with the grease and then see if it makes a difference.
They sell Indian hemp at the dollar store so I'm in luck!
@@whosserenereally!? which dollar store?
I have low porosity hair hair grease actually works for me❤️
Garnetta Johnson me too but do you have issues when putting it on your scalp?
HEAVEN some scalps can’t handle it. I can’t. It makes my hair itchy. I just use on my strands
Tasha G Try sulfur 8. Oils and regular greases made my scalp itch, and it would somehow end up being flaky and greasy at the same time. Sulfur 8 takes that away.
MAD World Productions thank you I will give it a try
Garnetta Johnson me too! That’s why I don’t use oils and haven’t been for a while now
8:58 thank me later I know she said don’t skip but basically she’s explaining the background and the story of grease (petroleum jelly and stuff)
19:44
me: *stops midway adding grease to my dry hair*
😂
Lol me too 😂
🥰I need a water bottle, 4b leave in, tea tree, bergamot, lemongrass and lavender essential oils, EVOO, toasted sesame oil, organic almond oil, sulfur8, doo grow, blue magic & vaseline . #1yrHairProgram🤩
Sulfate free shampoos amd cowashing became so popular that hair grease lost popularity because you cant wash out grease without sulfate shampoo.
Not true! I use sulfate free shampoo and I grease my hair and scalp and it washes out completely.
@Anja Samuel No I don't...
@Anja Samuel .........
Mia Porche which shampoo do you use?
annanne honestly you can use whatever shampoo you want as long as it has sulfates in which cuts the grease. I use VO5 or L Oreal to get the grease out and you only need 1 pass through to get it out.
Finally someone on RUclips that I can relate to when it comes to how low in porosity my hair is😭😭😭
I know this is becoming a “thing” on RUclips but honestly this has been a tool.
