So, when I was testing it, I noticed that the photo quality at long distances for the iPhone 16 Pro and above seems worse than the iPhone 14 Pro when zoomed in at 15x. Distant text, in particular, looks really blurry on the iPhone 16, while the iPhone 14 Pro captures it much clearer. I asked one of the staff about it, and they said it might be a glass issue. Yup, all that is true. But is any of that a reason to upgrade? Just because it's an upgrade doesn't mean YOU need to upgrade. As soon as you leave the store, your phone is obsolete. That's the trap, that's how they get you to keep coming back year after year.

I'm glad you spent a fair amount of time on features besides just the camera vs reviewers just spouting specs without really understanding what they mean. So, thanks for that. Honestly, I wish they would focus more on basic functionality like battery life, more durable case, and stronger cell signal radios for better connectivity. As soon as the tactical/marketing emphasis switched from a phone with a camera to a camera that's sort of a phone, all manufacturers (not just Apple) stopped caring about ANY of that. So for now, I'm sticking with my 14 Pro.
Im upgrading from a 12 mini to a 16 pro. Mainly because my minis battery is on low health and i got a really good deal. To bad the mini is discontinued, because it was by far the best format for daily useage of them
The way most people use their phones, I’d argue even a 12 is more than good enough, especially given the bargain prices they’re selling for. They also still feel very premium and still get software support. iPhone 15 gives you usb-c which helps a lot with decluttering as most things use usb-c right now. 16 is a very incremental improvement imo.
Upgrading from my 13 pro to 16 pro. Was a great phone and still is. Battery at 77 and the phone gets really hot now a days. Trading to Apple for $340 off the 16 pro. Thinks it’s worth it. 13 pro is a heavy phone tbh getting tired of the weight lol.

Unpopular opinion - iPhone 13 Pro still feels more premium than 16 Pro in reality (when you hold it and not just comparing new features). Just checked one and now I love my 13 Pro even more 😁
The 13 pro max in daily / real life usage won't give you true downsides over the latest 15/16 pro (max), in my family they own 14 and 15PM and this weekend I got to test the 16PM so I know whar I'm talking about. The camera quality jump from the 12 pro to 13 pro was big (wide angle much improved as was nightmode) whereas 14-15-16 pro/max seem small incremental updates. Literally nobody cares about 48MP, just looks good on the specsheet. Most people post their pictures on social media which compresses it anyways lol. and even today some people still ask what camera I make my pictures with because they look so frickin good. Dynamic island isn't really shocking either.. who actually cares? (except it visually shows you got a more recent iphone lol) Brightness is more than good enough on 13 pro max. I cant possibly imagine you'd need more, even now I barely ever put it to the max brightness. And 3 years later with 85% battery health my 13PM still easily gets through the day. Depending on wifi/lte between 6-8 hours screen on time which is unbelievable . This is probably my favorite thing since I own the phone. Only thing I really prefer on the 15/16PM (I've held both) is the noticeable difference in lower weight. I could easily afford a 16PM (not trying to sound like a dick) and I do love my tech but it would just be a waste of money. My 13PM has been an excellent workhorse the last few years and until the camera's really show a drastic improvement again I'm holding on to this little beast for a bit longer (as long as the battery continues keeping up with my heavy usage).

I’m upgrading from 12 pro max, 16 pro max 1 TB black arriving tomorrow , based on your video I’m very happy with the new specs 😁👌👍
The purple 14 pro is so beautiful
Thanks for this information. Upgraded from a 12 Pro to a 16 Pro.
I have a 13pro, and it’s gonna wait for the 17 air.
Back then, an upgrade meant having an extra camera, having a foldable version, becoming wireless charging, etc.
These improvements are so minor it's almost like a Kaizen but at inflated prices.
Best should you upgrade video I’ve seen so far!
Was on the fence about upgrading from my 14 Pro. Guess I won’t upgrade.
This video was truly helpful. Thanks Daniel.
Shout out to fellow iPhone 12 users!!! Mines a work horse with no case. Live dangerously 😂
Upgrading (barring any discoveries of overheating and the like...) form the 12PM. A great phone, but the 'C' port is a huge factor, better camera, Pro chip, etc.. The iPhones 16 will be in stores tomorrow, and I'll be going to take a look. If all is well, maybe 01 NOV-ish.
Good comparison video, thank you
I don't like titanium, steel looks way better than titanium. Love the heavy iphone 📱 sticking to 14pm.
This is a super helpful video. Thanks for the detail!
AHHHHH YOU WENT TO THE SILERSTONE GP AWSOME!!!
Would you recommend upgrading to a regular 16 from a 14 pro max?
Upgrading from my 13 pro max to a 16 pro max this week. I’ve had it since it dropped in ‘21 I’ve loved it. But compared to the 14 & 15 pro models, this upgrade is actually worth it.
Thanks for doing this. This is great. While I love the 13PM 1TB I had decided to upgrade to the 16PM 1TB Black Titanium and will be picking it up locally tomorrow and am excited.
Hi! So, how is it? I’m upgrading from 13 pro to 16 pro but I feel a little guilty cause it’s not thaaat new
1:59 there is nothing “fresh”, nothing “new” and nothing “colourful”. That’s honestly the main reason I don’t want to upgrade my 12 Pro yet
Had a 12 for 2 years, currently have the 13 for 1 year - should I go for the 15 pro or 16 pro?
This video was super helpful! Thanks
Thank you for making this video, you’ll help me and many others with this 😊
Just the video I was looking for!
Was there any part of the video that, while at first seemed like it was what you were looking for, ended up not being what you were looking for?
Awesome comparison, everything one needs to know to decide.
I am still using IP 13 PM. Not upgrading this year.
upgrading from my xr to the 16 😮
Just what I needed to know - thanks.. 👍🏼👍🏼
Coming from 14 pro… upgrading for the rounded edges. The „sharp“ edges bothered me from day one after upgrading from my jetblack 7
ZONEof Teach has come far thanks for uploading the hard work and dedication goes unnoticed
This is great information!
Excelente!!! Buen video con todo lo que necesitaba
Great video! I'm upgrading to iPhone 16 from the 11 I think I've waited long enough, and it is in perfect condition with no scratches lol
Mine is 11…been 5 years so thinking of upgrading but still unsure…thanks for this video
I’m going for iphone 16 pro max from iphone 13. I watch alot of videos and game on my phone alot. The big screen and 120 hz will be perfect for me. Usb c is also a plus
This is a perfect video on how to demonstrate to anybody that want to upgrade to a 16
very nice breakdown of the features, well done. Helped me make my decision coming from a 13 pro!
Great video! Awesome idea to compare them like this. Very useful
Extremely informative! Nicely setting out features and enhancements from an objective, neutral standpoint and assessing whether upgrades make sense for the average consumer. Well done Daniel.
thanks for the videos
very informative, thank you
I love my sierra blue 13 pro but charger port is unreliable, over heats, and battery life is at 77% feel like I had to upgrade to the 16 pro
13 pro. Just changed the battery which increased the performance. Probably a lot of the perceived performance is just a fresh battery. I’ll probably change at 17 but not before. I know someone who is running the XS and is perfectly happy.
Thanks. I’m currently using 12 mini and I’m in real mood to upgrade. This video is just exactly what I was looking for
Awesome comparison & content ❤️🔥
Got so many people saying "don't upgrade, wait for the 17" while I'm using a 13 pro and I got to say, you really helped me a lot. Tech will always get better so we can't always just wait for something better, if you got the cash to splash and have a relatively old phone such as a 13 or 12 then upgrade
should I upgrade to an iPhone 16pro from an iPhone 12 mini?
Yes
I'd say get the 16 keep the mini. I kept mine.
Planning to upgrade from 13 Pro, gonna up the storage from 128 to 256GB as well
Grew out of the 64GB quickly. Then, the 128GB from a 12 PM last year. Now 512GB seems like the new standard.
I feel it's a paid video
love this video so helpful ❤
Having the iPhone 14 pro and you helped me decide to just get the battery replaced and wait next year to see what the iPhone 17 Pro offers.
My IPhone 14: you may have better toys than us but do you have experience?
iPhone 16: 😟
Went from the 14+ to the 16 pro, happy so far
How about upgrading from 13 Pro to regular 16?
You should go for the 16 Pro instead of the regular 16 because the Pro has better & bigger display, better cameras, & probably better battery life than the regular 16
@@CarsandTechInfo I have a 13 pro and I would prefer a 16 over a 16 pro as well..16 pro has (yet again) gotten bigger, which is just useless and annoying. My 13pro's screen is set to 60hz because the difference with 120hz is minor and I prefer the longer battery life. Camera of 16 and 16 pro are identical apart from the 5x zoom (which I would never use). Battery life between 16 and 16 pro is pretty much identical according to benchmarks.
The idea of this kind of comparison is genius. I needed this video to make an informed decision. Best comparison video ever
I have a 14 pro, but I'm upgrading to the 16 pro mainly for usb c and 48mp ultrawide camera, and of course, maybe the better battery life. But I'll be keeping the 16 Pro for at least 3 years, so help me, God.
