I'm an android user myself, I have felt tempted to upgrade to an iPhone more than once, but if I really think about it, it really doesn't have anything I need in it, so once I upgrade it'll be from the galaxy s20+ to the pixel 9 pro or s25+
PCs were peaking 10-15 years ago. In the 90s and early 2000s, each upgrade you did every year was exciting, as it brought big improvements. As a 90s kid, I HAD TO upgrade my PC every year. It was pretty much mandatory, the difference was so big, and a 2 year old PC was really obsolete. But in the 2010s and today, using a 10 year old PC causes no issues whatsoever. Laptops followed shortly after. The same thing is happening with smartphones. In the 10 years after iPhone was released, every year brough exciting upgrades on all platforms. Phones became much faster, look much nicer, have much better screen, etc... But they peaked ~5 years ago. Their screen is near perfect, they perform all task instantaneously, so there is nothing really to improve. I often accidentally grab my 5yo Xs instead of 15 Pro, and only notice when I try to call someone and there is no service on it:D
iPhone 12 'completed' the phone IMO. You got ceramic shield which stopped the phones breaking like they used to. The chassis was solid unlike earlier phones (think iPhone 6 bendgate). The battery life lasted all day for the average user (you could choose the 12 Pro Max if you wanted more) and the cameras pretty much maxed out the capability of 12MP shots (which was absolutely fine for detail unless you wanted to zoom super close). Face ID for security (Touch ID as well would've been nice, but meh). A14 Performance which was plenty and they were all IP68 Waterproof. Since then, all of the updates have been iterative, and unless some breakthrough AI feature comes along which people can't live without, I can't see the need for anything more. Edit: AND there was a screen size for everyone!
your must be the most average of average persons then to not realise how different an iphone 15 pro looks to a xs . but i do agree with your point overall but theres the simple fact of software support that forces people to upgrade since they wont be able to use apps without it . this means you can only really use an of somewhat over 6 years before you encounter issues by then the phone will feel slow bad battery life gets hot quickly .

I upgraded from Xs to 15Pro last year. Camera is big difference, and of course the degraded battery life. But sometimes I still pick up the old one for some tasks (like youtube or browsing when I use my main phone for something else), and barely see the difference. Sometimes I accidentally pick up the old one and don’t immediately notice.
@@Just_Me-p9w 60Hz is even less important on a small screen that fills less of your view too. It's just something for Android people to complain about. If Apple upgrades the base iPhones to 120Hz they'll just move on to something else.
Mate , I have a 12 pro 60 hz and a 14 pro max 120 hz , an old galaxy note 60 hz , 60 hz is really a nothing burger , I’m happy to use any one of them that is close to hand regardless of screen hz. And I might add even with 60 hz , iPhones are still very smooth overall.
I had iPhone 15 pro max and now i am using iPhone 16 standard, I know sounds stupid to some people, but my main reason for getting iPhone 16 is the size and weight, iPhone 15 PM was big phone and heavy weight and overtime I did notice that, I don’t really care about the PRO features and 60 hertz not that bad with me. Everyone has own personal preference.
I had the 13 Pro Max, and sold it and got the 14 Plus. I need the bigger screen (yeah, eyes are also getting older and mine are 57 now) and don’t see any difference, ever! The Plus is really the way to go, if you want an always working phone, really good fotos and little movies and doing most Social Media stuff and consumption. With Air Pods Pro, Apple Watch 8 45mm, iPad Air M1 and two Apple TV 4K I am sorted for the time being. I have had Apple Music since my iBook G4 days (as in iTunes) early 2000s and have the Apple TVs connected with Yamaha RV receiver and really good loud speakers and the music sounds fantastic. Let the kiddies flex their ‚coolness‘ with the Pros. I am very happy with my eco system.

Keeping my 14 Pro and replacing the battery after the new year. It’s still lightning fast and has everything I want/need in a phone. Plus it’s the Deep Purple model lol.

Upgrades to the 16 pro Max from the 14 pro Max and i am super happy. The smaller bezels and the rounded Frame are really noticable BUT the Phone feels soooo much lighter. What a surprise.

Here in the EU the base 16 costs €949! Very expensive. My local authorised reseller still sells the 13, 14 and 15. While the 13 and 14 are more affordable, they are a bit long in the tooth so I'm looking at the 15 potentially. Despite the drab colours (😢). However if we can't afford that, I'll try the 14 but sell it after a year and then get either the 15 or 16 next year when the price drops. From your tests it's clear the camera on the 15 is better in low light than the 12, 13 and 14.
As someone who used the iPhone 3g as my daily back in the day (same chip and specs as the OG, just with 3G) it may have had a 60 hz display, but certainly couldn't handle running at a smooth 60 hz. For perspective, it only had a single core chip running at 412 mhz paired with 128 mb of ram. Don't get me wrong, it was still an incredible and smooth feeling experience for the time
5 years worth and sadly none of them were enticing enough to upgrade from my 11 pro max which made me end up with an S23 and it felt more valuable in both software and hardware
How can you guys stand Android? The Sameung bloatware, inferior exynos chip, inconsistent update schedule and apps going nuts with data mining is crazy. Also the S series are just as boring in terms of design.

When you list everything out, the Pros sound like they deserve that title. But the regular 16 is better value overall, especially if you aren’t a “pro” creator needed camera related things.
Does 16 plus have a better battery that 15 plus ? I saw in another video that 15 plus lasted more that 13 hours while 16 plus lasted less than 9 . And that’s a huge difference
The battery on my 14pro was shot and I had £150 of John lewis vouchers. So I decided to get to a 16 for essentially the same price as getting a new battery on my 14pro after trade in. The only difference on the lack of always on display but I have gained USB-C, an action button, a camera shortcut button :P and crucially a new battery and the same size phone...instead of just a new battery for £100.
It's crazy how much reviewers talk about the hertz of the screen... it's really not noticeable in person. It shows up on camera because the framerate of the camera and the screen aren't synced I don't notice on my phone.
It's about standards lol. I'd it's something they can implement eaisky, they should. It's so dumb listening to people let Apple off with charging premium prices whilst holding their tech back on purpose.
Your eyes might be getting a little too old, I've myopia and astigmatism yet I can easily tell the huge difference is very noticeable in person. Once you go 90hz and above, 60 feels like a downgrade. This isn't to say tou can't get used to it back again, you probably could but why make this compromise? This simple feature could've been effortlessly included in the base iPhone models, it was however intentionally left out.
I am thinking about the standard 16, I have been running the iPhone 11 since launch, and aside from the need to replace the battery (which I will do so it can become a hand-me-down to youngest child) it's still actually a perfectly good phone.
iPhone 16 Plus paired with the iPad Pro M4 is a perfect match! Coming from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, I’m really enjoying the iPhone 16 Plus. I don’t play games on it, and I’m not out here trying to be a photographer with my phone. Buy what you need, not what’s popular.

I went from iPhone 13 to 16 pro. The 5x optical zoom was the pretty much the only reason and slightly better battery. If you like photography then it’s a game changer.
For me (with a 12). I’m waiting for next year SE4 Gets the best of what the 16 offers. The way I see it, I can use 100% of what the SE4 offers. But on the higher iPhones, I just won’t use those features. I’m finding the older I get. The less I use my phone
ALSO if you’re torn between buying let’s say the 16+ or the regular pro, it’s only a $70 difference as long as you choose the same storage option. So if you do 256gb for both models it’s only a $70 difference for all those extra “pro” features.
Just bought the 16 pro.. and the battery depletes to 40% after three hours using normal web browsing.. and My battery in my iPhone X which is 6 years old last longer.

@@CruexYt it took a day or two to adapt and if I use my a54 side by side u can tell the difference in scroll speed, but the iPhone loads things way faster so scrolling feels faster than what it is
As an Android user with 120Hz refresh rate, I want to switch to either 15/16 Pro. However it's ridiculously expensive; the Pro models can cost about RM4k-RM6k++. At the same time, I'm more concerned with battery life; thus why I'm also considering the base 16 model. The current phone I'm using only last for less than 5 hours then I have to charge it again. It's kinda annoying, especially when I'm in class and I have to use my device often.
I am using Iphone 15 which i bought last year December so my phone so far for now is doing great and fantastic so wont be upgrading for 16 and will be waiting for Iphone 17 and 18 hoping they do better with designing on it 😢😢
Upgrading from a 13 Mini (same footprint as my iPhone 7), and I’m honestly torn between the 16 Pro, regular 16 and 15 Pro. Just waiting to see if we get a new iPad Mini this year. If we don’t, that’ll make it slightly easier - 15 or 16 Pro. Thanks for the content.

Obviously 15 and 16 Pros will both get AI (when it finally arrives), but it also depends on whether yet to be released features make it worth getting an iPhone with the camera button.
Wish there was one that was 6.5 with 120 hz and I would snatch it up. Have a 15 PM just for the battery life. Would easily downsize to a regular if it was upgraded appropriately.

I have an 11 pro and I still couldn't be bothered to upgrade. Shows both how good the phones Apple release are as well as the lack of innovation in the mobile space.
The difference between them isn't big enough to warrant an upgrade. People using the way older models such as the iPhone 12 - iPhone X/Xs are the ones who are way more likely to upgrade to the IPhone 16 models so this is a more relevant and worthwhile comparison.
Apple are under huge pressure here, because as soon as they add 120 to the base model, it will definitely affect the sales of the pros, unless your camera obsessed, you can have all the same power, daily use as the pro, just with one less camera. I have the 15pm in 1tb, and for me, I am giving the 16 a miss, I’m waiting for the 17 with 120!
60htz for a phone that cost over 1k base in my country is absolutely crazy like 120htz isn't a necessity for it to function but it makes a huge difference of the smoothness of the phone in everything form day to day use all the way to gaming so it wouldn't be a big deal on a more budget friendly phone like the se but if I'm paying flagship prices for a phone it should at least have a basic industry standard feature that has been common on phones 1/4th the price for years like seriously I bought my friend a sub 200 phone brand new 2 years ago and it was 90htz lmaoo
I bought the base IPhone 15 in March after my old Samsung A51 slowly gave up on me but with the new 16 and the 2 gen newer chip and 2gb more ram I kinda feel robbed by Apple....I mean you buy the newest phone at that time and a couple of months later they Release the new phone not like the last 6 years with a normal chip update but with a big power Jump out of nowhere now....I'm really upset thinking about this tbh and even not getting Apple Intelligence on the regular 15 is something unheard of...Imagine buying a new phone and not even one year later you dont get all the new OS features....I mean seriously!?

I’m not sure that is a worthwhile upgrade. Unless you want/need Apple Intelligence. You will not really notice much else has changed. Apple has been selling the same design for 4 years now. Only the spec sheet has improved for marketing. However, the phone looks and basically functions the same.
trade it, get the 16 plus. it is a better screen, you get more battery life. usb c and display. better camera. AI which useful. you record prores? if not, 16 plus very3 nice upgrade.
I was hoping to get a little more buying recomendation. Like, should i go for an 13 or 14 for my kid as a budget choice? The 14 seems to be a very minimal update (the least updated model ever?) but maybe it's worth it considering the extra year of updates?
If they can do that with photographic styles can they later add the ability to capture a pic or vid with all cameras and then switch between cameras during editing ?

I upgraded to pink iPhone 16 from iPhone 12 and I love it. USBC port, camera is soooo much better, and I could never tell the difference between 120 refresh on my Android phone and my iPhone 😅

@@chandfreed1852 I have a 15 Pro and was helping my mother upgrade her 13 to iOS 18 and the difference between 120Hz and 60Hz really isn't that noticeable on an iPhone and I know what to look for. The iOS UI is very smooth on a 60Hz screen. Android people don't want to hear that but it's true...there's a reason Apple is able to sell 100 million non-Pro iPhones a year with their "inferior" screens. It's not a bad experience.

I am going to get a lot of hate for saying this. So I had a 21 fe which has a 120hz screen. I moved to an iPhone 13 then not Long after that coz that’s what I prefer and gave the s21 fe to my gf. The iPhone which has a 60hz screen felt better than the galaxy which has a 120hz screen. Yes some android phones will most likely have better screens than that but just becoz it’s higher hz doesn’t mean it’s definitely better than the iPhones. That being said though, I do agree that apple should include this feature on their base phones already considering how much you are paying for them already.
Sorry but that can't be true as I use Samsung phones for the last 5 years (because the US crippled huawei) and my wife only uses iPhones (just because it's an iPhone as she gladly stated) and not only does the 120 Hz displays on Samsung look miles better than the 60Hz one on the iPhone, they even look and feel faster and smoother than the pro models. She has a 13 pro max currently and will get the 16 pro max and that "promotion" display feels sluggish sometimes compared to any other 120Hz Samsung. Even the cheap A34 I bought for my father in law has a smoother screen ffs so I truly doubt the validity of your statements. Apple limits the refresh rate severely and you can find other videos proving this, even with the new 16 pro models

Still using the Xs with ios 18 and will not be upgrading to iPhone 16. It’s great that I still get os and security update.

Upgrading from an XR to a regular 16. Slight concern that 128GB will be tight for running Apple Intelligence features on device.
AI needs both a great NPU and RAM, but space is not specially required

5 years worth and sadly none of them were enticing enough to upgrade from my 11 pro max which made me end up with an S23 and it felt more valuable in both software and hardware

How can you guys stand Android? The Sameung bloatware, inferior exynos chip, inconsistent update schedule and apps going nuts with data mining is crazy. Also the S series are just as boring in terms of design.

@@khairulfaiz7398 Unless it's persistent/constant 120hz, like what high-end Android phones can do, I don't care much about variable refresh. Getting 120hz at the tail end of a scroll and 80-90hz for everything else isn't worth the extra money, frankly.

When you list everything out, the Pros sound like they deserve that title. But the regular 16 is better value overall, especially if you aren’t a “pro” creator needed camera related things.
Does 16 plus have a better battery that 15 plus ? I saw in another video that 15 plus lasted more that 13 hours while 16 plus lasted less than 9 . And that’s a huge difference
The battery on my 14pro was shot and I had £150 of John lewis vouchers. So I decided to get to a 16 for essentially the same price as getting a new battery on my 14pro after trade in. The only difference on the lack of always on display but I have gained USB-C, an action button, a camera shortcut button :P and crucially a new battery and the same size phone...instead of just a new battery for £100.

It's crazy how much reviewers talk about the hertz of the screen... it's really not noticeable in person. It shows up on camera because the framerate of the camera and the screen aren't synced I don't notice on my phone.

It's about standards lol. I'd it's something they can implement eaisky, they should. It's so dumb listening to people let Apple off with charging premium prices whilst holding their tech back on purpose.
Your eyes might be getting a little too old, I've myopia and astigmatism yet I can easily tell the huge difference is very noticeable in person. Once you go 90hz and above, 60 feels like a downgrade. This isn't to say tou can't get used to it back again, you probably could but why make this compromise? This simple feature could've been effortlessly included in the base iPhone models, it was however intentionally left out.

I disagree. It doesn’t show up in videos as this is 60fps. It’s very noticeable in person. Also every other phone offers it
I am thinking about the standard 16, I have been running the iPhone 11 since launch, and aside from the need to replace the battery (which I will do so it can become a hand-me-down to youngest child) it's still actually a perfectly good phone.

Realistically, if the base iPhone had 120hz, what would really be the big draw to the pro? Cameras are minimally better.

The regular 15 also has got a 48MP cam giving you the 2x crop at 12MP. Please do your research.

I went from iPhone 13 to 16 pro. The 5x optical zoom was the pretty much the only reason and slightly better battery. If you like photography then it’s a game changer.

Gets the best of what the 16 offers.
The way I see it, I can use 100% of what the SE4 offers. But on the higher iPhones, I just won’t use those features.

ALSO if you’re torn between buying let’s say the 16+ or the regular pro, it’s only a $70 difference as long as you choose the same storage option. So if you do 256gb for both models it’s only a $70 difference for all those extra “pro” features.
Just bought the 16 pro.. and the battery depletes to 40% after three hours using normal web browsing.. and My battery in my iPhone X which is 6 years old last longer.
I had a galaxy A54 which is 120hz the 16 plus doesn’t feel sluggish at all
Now try the same thing but with a flagship equivalent of iPhone, not a midrange Samsung.

@@CruexYt it took a day or two to adapt and if I use my a54 side by side u can tell the difference in scroll speed, but the iPhone loads things way faster so scrolling feels faster than what it is

As an Android user with 120Hz refresh rate, I want to switch to either 15/16 Pro. However it's ridiculously expensive; the Pro models can cost about RM4k-RM6k++. At the same time, I'm more concerned with battery life; thus why I'm also considering the base 16 model. The current phone I'm using only last for less than 5 hours then I have to charge it again. It's kinda annoying, especially when I'm in class and I have to use my device often.

I am using Iphone 15 which i bought last year December so my phone so far for now is doing great and fantastic so wont be upgrading for 16 and will be waiting for Iphone 17 and 18 hoping they do better with designing on it 😢😢

Upgrading from a 13 Mini (same footprint as my iPhone 7), and I’m honestly torn between the 16 Pro, regular 16 and 15 Pro. Just waiting to see if we get a new iPad Mini this year. If we don’t, that’ll make it slightly easier - 15 or 16 Pro.

Obviously 15 and 16 Pros will both get AI (when it finally arrives), but it also depends on whether yet to be released features make it worth getting an iPhone with the camera button.

Why didn't you test the 15 plus vs 16 plus ?
The difference between them isn't big enough to warrant an upgrade. People using the way older models such as the iPhone 12 - iPhone X/Xs are the ones who are way more likely to upgrade to the IPhone 16 models so this is a more relevant and worthwhile comparison.
Apple are under huge pressure here, because as soon as they add 120 to the base model, it will definitely affect the sales of the pros, unless your camera obsessed, you can have all the same power, daily use as the pro, just with one less camera. I have the 15pm in 1tb, and for me, I am giving the 16 a miss, I’m waiting for the 17 with 120!
60htz for a phone that cost over 1k base in my country is absolutely crazy like 120htz isn't a necessity for it to function but it makes a huge difference of the smoothness of the phone in everything form day to day use all the way to gaming so it wouldn't be a big deal on a more budget friendly phone like the se but if I'm paying flagship prices for a phone it should at least have a basic industry standard feature that has been common on phones 1/4th the price for years

I bought the base IPhone 15 in March after my old Samsung A51 slowly gave up on me but with the new 16 and the 2 gen newer chip and 2gb more ram I kinda feel robbed by Apple....I mean you buy the newest phone at that time and a couple of months later they Release the new phone not like the last 6 years with a normal chip update but with a big power Jump out of nowhere now....I'm really upset thinking about this tbh and even not getting Apple Intelligence on the regular 15 is something unheard of...Imagine buying a new phone and not even one year later you dont get all the new OS features....I mean seriously!?

I’m not sure that is a worthwhile upgrade. Unless you want/need Apple Intelligence. You will not really notice much else has changed. Apple has been selling the same design for 4 years now. Only the spec sheet has improved for marketing. However, the phone looks and basically functions the same.
trade it, get the 16 plus. it is a better screen, you get more battery life. usb c and display. better camera. AI which useful. you record prores? if not, 16 plus very3 nice upgrade.

I upgraded to pink iPhone 16 from iPhone 12 and I love it. USBC port, camera is soooo much better, and I could never tell the difference between 120 refresh on my Android phone and my iPhone 😅

@@chandfreed1852 I have a 15 Pro and was helping my mother upgrade her 13 to iOS 18 and the difference between 120Hz and 60Hz really isn't that noticeable on an iPhone and I know what to look for. The iOS UI is very smooth on a 60Hz screen. Android people don't want to hear that but it's true...there's a reason Apple is able to sell 100 million non-Pro iPhones a year with their "inferior" screens. It's not a bad experience.

I am going to get a lot of hate for saying this. So I had a 21 fe which has a 120hz screen. I moved to an iPhone 13 then not
Long after that coz that’s what I prefer and gave the s21 fe to my gf. The iPhone which has a 60hz screen felt better than the galaxy which has a 120hz screen. Yes some android phones will most likely have better screens than that but just becoz it’s higher hz doesn’t mean it’s definitely better than the iPhones.
That being said though, I do agree that apple should include this feature on their base phones already considering how much you are paying for them already.

Sorry but that can't be true as I use Samsung phones for the last 5 years (because the US crippled huawei) and my wife only uses iPhones (just because it's an iPhone as she gladly stated) and not only does the 120 Hz displays on Samsung look miles better than the 60Hz one on the iPhone, they even look and feel faster and smoother than the pro models. She has a 13 pro max currently and will get the 16 pro max and that "promotion" display feels sluggish sometimes compared to any other 120Hz Samsung. Even the cheap A34 I bought for my father in law has a smoother screen ffs so I truly doubt the validity of your statements. Apple limits the refresh rate severely and you can find other videos proving this, even with the new 16 pro models
