"End of the Dream" hard rock version from their self titled album and they redid it for Synthesis its on the same dvd. The song is beautiful, got me through my divorce. Tattooed the bridge to my ribs. Amy has said its difficult to perform live the rock version.
I didn’t even like it on the self titled it was one I frequently skipped over but then heard end of the dream on synthesis and fell in love and it’s now one of my all-time favorite Evanescence songs! Amy said it was hard to seeing live with a Synthesis version two and you can see why, but she’s pure and utter perfection.
Mike, great reaction as always. This song is dark and beautiful ...and Amy's voice is perfect on the live version! You really can't go wrong with anything off of THE OPEN DOOR. FALLEN gets the accolades, but THE OPEN DOOR is a masterpiece from beginning to end. Hopefully, you can do a full album review at some point. Thanks again for doing what you do. 😉

I love the synthesis studio version! Every time I listen to it, I hear something different!
You dipped into the Synthesis pool!!! I love it! But I think you may appreciate it more if you listen to all the originals first. You should watch the behind the scenes making of synthesis on RUclips before reacting to those songs will give context and music specifics of the sounds, like how the they did the beats live too. It was amazing live! Put on your list to react to weight of the world from San Francisco live (not on album only done at a few shows). I was at the concert, so good! First listen to Weight of world on open door. 😊

When they announced the Synthesis album, I was expecting this song to be the best one because of all It's classic music influence, and oh boy I was right.
This version of Lacrymosa gives me goosebumps every time i hear it. So damn good.
You've done Your Star, Lithium, and this one. Start with Sweet Sacrifice. You can take a breather at Lithium, then head on in to Cloud Nine.

The Open Door has, most of it, sort of the same vibe as Lacrymosa. Orchestra, Choir, Terry Balsom’s Guitar, atmospheric. Very that.
Yet again another great reaction! Lacrymosa is my favorite song from TOD.

This had made my 16yo heart so happy xD Amy Lee loves classical music too, and is classically trained on piano. Lacrimosa/Dies Irae from Mozart's Requiem gives this song such an eerie feeling. I always thought she was singing to a ghost of a dead loved one who she wants to move on to the afterlife and stop haunting her.
Loveeee ur reactions! This song is great and love the synthesis version as well - it’s so dramatic. Fun fact I was actually in the audience at this concert film - huge evanescence fan so this was the 1st of 3 shows that I went to for the synthesis tour and was exciting to find out it was being filmed for the blu ray /dvd. I actually had the vip package experience so we all had to sign something in case they used anything filmed during it in the dvd(which they did not) :( but u do see me in the audience a few times during the show. Exciting to be a part of it!
Suggestion - I do like how u reacted the to the original version of the song and then right after, the synthesis version... maybe that is something u might wanna do for other songs? Anyways keep up the fun reactions! Looking forward to more EV!

Lol Will² in the back XD. I think it's a good idea to listen to the original then the Synthesis version after like you did here. Maybe you'll do this for at least some of the songs off of Synthesis? There are 4 tracks off of that album that are original with 2 of that 4 being instrumental only. That's something they used to do on occasion pre-Fallen, but I think Synthesis is the only recent album where they have instrumental tracks again. The Bitter Truth came close with Artifact/The Turn, but they have a bit of lyrics in there.
