- Hey All! It's been awhile since I got another Evanescence song into my earholes, and man! This one was so wild and electronic at first, I wasn't sure what to think. But the more it went on, and after hearing the Synthesis Live second listen, it stuck with me. Excellent song.

I think the little girl is her younger self and adult Amy sings to her what she probably would have liked to hear at that moment. The beginning also makes me think of how Amy learned of the death of her sister Bonnie. She tells it in the song Hello, which is on Fallen (Maybe a futur reaction video :D ) Otherwise, I really like you're way of dissecting a song. You even hear sounds that even the oldest fans may not have even heard and you make us realize it, it's crazy ! You know what you're talking about. It is always a pleasure to listen to one of your reactions. You are always on point !
The intro music you hear in the song is "The In-Between" which plays right before "Imperfection" in the album. As for what's going on in the video, I admit that I don't know ^^; . I think the girl is supposed to be either a younger version of her or her inner self? Not sure to be honest. I'm sure someone will correct me on that. Thanks for doing this reaction by the way. "Imperfection" is my favorite song on this album! Welcome back to Evanescence as well.

Obviously touched by the Xmas spirit huh so decided to do something nice for the forgotten crowd? 👅 Btw Synthesis only had Imperfection and Hi-Lo as own new songs, so you're correct. I'm kinda still waiting for My Heart Is Broken - but since I wasn't really nice the fatso Santa will probably give me squat . Also, do check Amy's leaked demo of Legends Never Die - she wrote for League of Legends. Really happy to see you, xox bud. Had to add: electronic sounds are very present in Amy's solo projects - my fav for example: Lockdown - soooo worth checking out
Great reaction and commentary....as usual! This song is very underrated within Evanescence's catalog of music. If nothing else, this shows the versatility of Amy's voice as well as the band. Sublime!! 👏
Hi mike! Always great to see u back on RUclips - I even hit u up on Instagram since it’s been long time. Hope ur doing well! This song is my favorite song off the Synthesis album because of how powerful it is musically and vocally and the message behind it… I know u didn’t really mention it in the video but the song hits very strongly on mental health and depression and suicide… but from the perspective of the person left behind… almost like a plea from them to the person to not give up and stay. That’s also what I believe is going on in the video as the little girl is the girl left behind. If u give it a listen again u will be able to get those vibes and Amy also has spoken on it… the song was released about 2 months after Chester Bennington passed away(which affected me greatly as a huge fan) so this song hit hard…. I even told Amy that at a meet and greet that year about evanescence and linkin park being my 2 fav bands and that song being esp meaningful cuz of everything with Chester and she did tell me that she had a lot of inspiration from that whole tragedy with the song as well. And as per the synthesis live version the song was the end of the main set right before the 3 song encore… I was there so I know also haha lol anddd “ the in between” is the piano intro song to “imperfection” that you are hearing in the video and live performance btw - Anyways idk if u saw my comment on the linkin park “final masquerade “ video where went off topic and I mentioned that Evanescence is going on tour with Muse in feb/ March so I’m excited for that! Great reaction as always and looking forward to more videos and reactions esp from evanescence linkin park halestorm and muse ! Haha be well!

The thing my son and I love best about Evanescence is that their music is an experience and not just music. They put everything they have into what they do. Same thing with your reaction videos, Mike. I saw a reaction to a Greta Van Fleet live song the other day, and I couldn’t even watch more than a few minutes of it because the guy was being so annoying and not taking it seriously. I know I’m not the only one who appreciates the effort and thought you put into your videos here, so thanks for doing that!

I think Synthesis is an intimate, intense album that brings light a rawer side of Ev, and punctuating that is what makes your reactions more and more interesting. Please more Evanescence on the channel. If you want another Synthesis song: Hi-lo (classic ballad with an epic, modern bridge reminiscent of the broken record). If you wanted to continue on the self-titled: Erase This or Disappear

This song is a bonus track from their self titled album. It's on the Deluxe version.
For the live version the one from Paramount, Huntington, NYC 2016 has a good quality.
