It’s kind of like disrespectful for people to put her in a box and only want her to do that one thing.
Gaga has always been a powerhouse vocalist but since she makes pop music and is considered weird and over the top a lot of people didn’t take her seriously. I’m happy A Star is Born and her collaborations with Tony Bennet made people realize how talented she is, but she has been showcasing that for her entire career.
Exactly, let me take my Joanne hat off lol but seriously, is true! If only they could see the Art, the theater, the visuals, the artistic concept behind her earlier works, like dude, you don't even understand her genius and talent goes far beyond how good she can sing or how good she plays the piano, it's about her creativity doing surrealism and pop art in reverse and holy shit the way her mind works, creating, pushing boundaries, making people think and change their ways to follow her trend, because she was so ahead of everyone they had to keep up, the way she changed pop culture, nobody really gets it, artists and little monsters do.
That note that she held on “Fashion!” it’s actually on a loop. On the demo version of this song she keeps repeating the the word “ethereal” until she holds it and then releases it just like in the track. Her vocals are pure perfection tho ♥️
to comment as a gaga fan since '08 hearing A Star Is Born... I think one thing was that it was not surprising to us because she had already dipped her toes into other genres including jazz when she first did a duet with Tony Bennett in 2011 during her Born This Way era and eventually an entire jazz album following this Artpop era in 2014. And she's always done piano acoustics of her songs since her first album. So when A Star Is Born hit (and perhaps even earlier with her Sound of Music medley at the Oscars), I think we were very proud (but not shocked in the way that other people saw her) since we knew her history. She also had always been vocal about wanting to be an actress (where she was bullied in high school because of these aspirations) and would speak about it in her concerts. So even the fact that she got to see that dream come true was really moving to us. Although I prefer her pop albums since it's my personal favorite genre, I still respect how much talent and work she puts into her other endeavors and I love listening to the soundtrack from time to time.
Being a Gaga superfan I always love how unpredictable she is. she will take you on a new journey with every era. A STAR IS BORN was so different from anything she's ever done and it was well executed because she got to show off her powerful vocal abilities. She's the most versatile artist of our generation and while that may sound biased I can't think of any artist who switches things up with every album and does it so well
There's literally TONS of artists who tackle multiple genres- Cher. David Bowie. Madonna. Fashion Of His Love was very Whitney Houston. Should I go on ? She copy all the others artists styles but she often does it well, that's why it worked but you're right she's hardly original. Dude your audio is insane. I’ve listened to Swine thousands of times and I’ve never even heard some of the hidden melodies like the “eight-bit” sounds in the pre chorus and the piano in the second verse.
The thing with A Star Is Born is that it was obviously made to look like they were written by the character Ally, not Gaga, so that's why all of the songs sound so different from what she did before, and the pop songs were meant to keep getting more and more generic, like the first one was a pop neo soul song with all traditional instruments on Look What I Found and then it goes to Heal me which starts with electro sound and it goes until Why Did You Do That? having the tropical house sound that was so popular back in 2017 when the film was shot and that even Jackson criticized for having dumb lyrics, the pop songs were meant to show Ally being downgraded by her manager and to show how she and Jackson were distancing themselves, and even with that, Gaga's dumb pop songs were actually really good.
The thing is that with Gaga there is always a fierceness and her way of delivering her music and vocals no matter what style ... don’t forget that Gaga was more into rock than pop before the fame ... I always said that if she haven’t done music she could have been a painter or a poet or any artistic expression ...
I love everything she does... Love a diverse artist who had a mixture of types. I too love a mix of things and its nice to have an artist that dips her toes in everything.
ARTPOP is such a masterpiece, I also learned quite a bit from your input. I met her during this era because I had VIP to one of her shows in NY, she said her favorite song from the album is Applause. Thanks for the video!
A star is born is A BOP but not as good as born this way or chromatica. The slow songs like i'll never love again or always remember us this way are the best slow songs of her career. We have nothing but to stan a star is born album

Nor in your dreams will BTW be better than A Star Is Born, its 78 in Mediacritic over the 71 of BTW say it all. Her streaming adaptation, impact on the general public (not seen since The Fame Monster) and her well-rewarded success with awards makes her the best of Gaga second only to The Fame Monster.
I remember stealing my brother's ipod and listening to Black Eyed Peas and being blown away by the layers in the songs. First time appreciating production quality versus just singing along.
That’s one of the things i love about Gaga - that she can switch genres and still be great at it. Watching her Enigma show in Vegas back-to-back with the Jazz & Piano just highlighted this.
Watching him react to ARTPOP is making me realize how ahead of its time the album was. I didn't really "get it" at the time but it really is peak "weird Gaga". ASIB was successfully executed with some of the best slow songs of Gaga's career, but the weird contrast between the more folk/rock songs and the glossy pop songs makes for a really dissonant experience.
loving the vids and excited to hear the EP! just wondering if you're planning to bring back the full album reactions when you're not as crazy busy? 😂 i understand if theyre too much work but personally i think the longer videos are more enjoyable and a lot of albums hit better when listened all the way through. either way i'll keep watching and enjoying just my thoughts !!
You should do Aurora's "Infections of a different kind " and "A different kind of human". I really really curious about how you'd react to her music and her sound 👌🏻 It's a two part album. An absolute masterpiece in my opinion.
I personally love the Star is born album! It’s great music, Albums like ARTPOP, Born This Way, The Fame Monster/The Fame, Chromatica will always be our classic Gaga favs but we also love her down to earth albums like ASIB, Joanne, Cheek to Cheek
And to answer your question, I really like "A Star is Born". A couple incredible songs like "Always Remember Us" and "Look What I Found", as well as some decent and (intentionally) hackneyed bops like "Heal Me" and "Why Did You Do That?" Gaga's work on that film served its various purposes extremely well.
A Star Is Born soundtrack was different but I loved it. She went to a different place as a writer, producer and with her singing, which is good because there was a difference between her and Ally. Great difference and that's what made me realise that she could not only act but how talented she really was

Fashion! When she sings at the beginning "step into the room like it's a catwalk".. is almost the same as in let's dance by Bowie: "...to the song they're playing on the radio"... melody-wise

I love everything she does... Love a diverse artist who had a mixture of types. I too love a mix of things and its nice to have an artist that dips her toes in everything.
ARTPOP FEELS SO RIGHT DURING THIS TIME WITH MORE ARTIST RELEASING MORE EXPERIMENTAL/FUTURISTIC POP ALBUM. SHE WAS TRULY TRANSCENDING THROUGH TIME!
Gypsy is such a blessing to humanity
Everytime it makes me cry. Dope is supposed to be the emotional song but Gypsy is the real one.
YES IT IS
Cobbiant Miguel sameee I always play it after IWBWY and the combo is MORTAL
Both dope and gypsy is such a great song
ARTPOP is such a masterpiece, I also learned quite a bit from your input. I met her during this era because I had VIP to one of her shows in NY, she said her favorite song from the album is Applause. Thanks for the video!
A star is born is A BOP but not as good as born this way or chromatica. The slow songs like i'll never love again or always remember us this way are the best slow songs of her career. We have nothing but to stan a star is born album
I prefer her with songs like The Cure
I highly believe that A Star Is Born is better than Born This Way
commenting here cause its the top comment,Blakeee it is vogue that reminded you of babylon, just not the part you listened to, and it is inspired by it thats why she says money dont talk rip that song lol . Just type babylon and vogue on youtube .
Jonathan Alvarez Ruiz no.
“This is so weird, I don’t even know what to say sometimes” 💀😂
Swine is a song about rape :( thats why theres a lot of tension and build there.
YES! That is why the song is SUPER chaotic. It is done on purpose!
Props to Will.i.am for the production on “Fashion!” One of her best songs 👌🏻
I remember stealing my brother's ipod and listening to Black Eyed Peas and being blown away by the layers in the songs. First time appreciating production quality versus just singing along.
Him and David Guetta
@@fifiwozere what's your fave BEP song? I'm a bep Stan too
It’s very beautiful 😭😭😭
45:55 I'm almost 99% sure that it's the first note of “Look What I Found”
Let’s say 100% sure
I HEARD THAT TOO 🤩😍💯💖🔥🎶
Look What I Found 45:55 👀💯👌🏻🔥🎶💖
Omg finally, I was waiting like crazy for this. The way he enjoys her art it's just the validation that I needed ✨
Odds on his wardrobe only having nice ass shirts in it
ARTPOP is engineered that way.. Even a music producer can't predict it. 😂 😂
That’s one of the things i love about Gaga - that she can switch genres and still be great at it. Watching her Enigma show in Vegas back-to-back with the Jazz & Piano just highlighted this.
Blake: You never know where her songs are going...
Little Monsters: WE KNOW, RIGHT????
I went to the Artpop Ball: ArtRave Tour and Swine just made you get lost in the beat and jump and sweat! Epic!
It hurts to see someone else living my dream 😭
@@freddypineda3939 lmao meee
Watching him react to ARTPOP is making me realize how ahead of its time the album was. I didn't really "get it" at the time but it really is peak "weird Gaga". ASIB was successfully executed with some of the best slow songs of Gaga's career, but the weird contrast between the more folk/rock songs and the glossy pop songs makes for a really dissonant experience.
THE WAY I WOULD LET BLAKE TALK AND TALK FOR HOURS JUST TO HEAR HIS VOICE AND TEACH ME ABOUT MUSIC 😭 HE IS A GENIUS
In Mary Jane Holland she says “I think WEED have a good time” 😂 really clever
Her and RuPaul singing Fashion! is one of my favorite things ever!!!!
Especially with the condomesque headpiece
NOOOOO WHERE DID PART 1 GO 😭😭😭
loving the vids and excited to hear the EP! just wondering if you're planning to bring back the full album reactions when you're not as crazy busy? 😂 i understand if theyre too much work but personally i think the longer videos are more enjoyable and a lot of albums hit better when listened all the way through. either way i'll keep watching and enjoying just my thoughts !!
You should do Aurora's "Infections of a different kind " and "A different kind of human". I really really curious about how you'd react to her music and her sound 👌🏻 It's a two part album. An absolute masterpiece in my opinion.
and also a video of u making a song from scratch would be rlly interesting
I loooooved the A Star Is Born Soundtrack. I always wanted pop ballads from Gaga and with that album she gave me everything that I wanted.
The wonder and joy you show while experiencing this for the first time is so infectious!
A drag queen said on this vid, joking, that the Joanne and Star is born phase was to draw back in the straight people lmao
😂
Gaga had an overdose on creativity when making ARTPOP 💖
She sure did
Lady Gaga paved the way for the Dula Peeps. Also, you should review Joanne, that seems more your cup of tea.
The dragging feeling of Mary Jane Holland is most likely intentional to emulate feeling high
You guys have no idea how much i love Fashion!. After 7 years this song keeps making me so happy.
Omg same! Now that's taste
The way he gets so excited breaking down her music is so cute 🙇🏻💖
I personally love the Star is born album! It’s great music, Albums like ARTPOP, Born This Way, The Fame Monster/The Fame, Chromatica will always be our classic Gaga favs but we also love her down to earth albums like ASIB, Joanne, Cheek to Cheek
everyone: ARTPOP is so underated
gaga: I dOn'T rEmEmBeR aRtPoP
And to answer your question, I really like "A Star is Born". A couple incredible songs like "Always Remember Us" and "Look What I Found", as well as some decent and (intentionally) hackneyed bops like "Heal Me" and "Why Did You Do That?" Gaga's work on that film served its various purposes extremely well.
I think Born This Way will be your absolute vibe cuz of the pop rock influence.
A Star Is Born soundtrack was different but I loved it. She went to a different place as a writer, producer and with her singing, which is good because there was a difference between her and Ally.
Great difference and that's what made me realise that she could not only act but how talented she really was
Ummm did he delete Born This Way and ARTPOP part 1? Because i cant find those videos anymore
you should listen to DO WHAT U WANT it's a song from Artpop but it was removed, there's a Xtina version and a solo version
I want him to listen to it so much
I Went to this tour it was fffff AMAZINGGGGG, I was in my element i danced all night, and when she did swine the whole place rumbled it was AWESOME
16:21 that's tea, gaga is always head of the curve, they be criticizing her and then be coping her after
I was so excited for the second part of this review. Artpop might be my favorite Gaga album.
I swear I kept refreshing your channel to see if the video was already up! Thank you. You are amazing and I really enjoy listening to you. I'm a fan.
omg, gypsy is so good, everytime i listen, it makes me cry because it's so hopeful to me... something i tend to lack in my own life. also, its so awesome watching you be so into the music, you've earned a new subscriber! love just sitting here enjoying an album with you!
Fashion! When she sings at the beginning "step into the room like it's a catwalk".. is almost the same as in let's dance by Bowie: "...to the song they're playing on the radio"... melody-wise
I can't still understand why this album was not received well by the mass and critics. This is such a masterpiece and one of a kind.
It’s so interesting to listen to your explanations and analysis. Makes me appreciate the production so much more, because now I know how much work and thought goes into all these little details 🤭
"Gypsy" should belong in a scene on "Rent" it has such a musical theater quality to it. It needs to be on Broadway.
I also love how you can't predict where any of her songs are going. For me it makes it so...her.
This just shows ARTPOP is ahead of it's time. A misunderstood masterpiece 😭
I absolutely love Donatella, that intro is everything
