@@jonathanmaggio23 It's a decent album but it feels like a lot of songs that have something missing -- either the chorus is blah (911), the lyrics are meh (Plastic Doll), the vocals are blah (Fun Tonight, Replay) or the production could go harder (Free Woman). Btw Do What U Want was released in Mexico as a solo version on a compilation album (and that version exists on RUclips) and it’s the superior version imo It’s just incredible
The May release you guys are thinking of was Born This Way in 2011. Which by the way, is turning 10!!! Judas is 10 today since it was one of the singles before the actual project.
FAHION! Is one of the most fun & easy going songs. reminds me a little of David Bowie way of singing. I love it!!!! also ARTPOP is the one of the most unique songs in the album about creativity and the constant struggle of an artist to remain true to himself and his artistry while still wanting to sell. I love it too
This album came out at such a pivotal time in my life where I was in such an amazing place, I will never forget the album roll out, performances, ARTrave & hearing the album for the first time. An era for the memory books!

That pre release concert for me killed the album because some of the versions were better at the pre release concert than the finished album. I remember listening to the album and singing the other versions and being like wait what the hell this is not the same 😂 I still love art pop though
I feel like 2013 was the last year of this giant buildpop of a mainstream popand social media era that started around 2007. We had Gaga, Beyonce, Katy, Rihanna, Britney, Kesha etc pretty much on top of the charts. There's never been a pop time like that. I feel like Gaga was riding the high for so long with The Fame, Monster & Born This Way that the haters also grew and they were just ready to push her off the cliff, regardless of what album it was. OMG whole era was so crazy, even street looks were fucking crazy, amazing performances, those two music videos are fantastic. I love this whole era so much and I call her entire career ARTPOP.
I would also argue that ARTPOP is her most cohesive as well on the production side. Many of the tracks are Zedd and the other tracks are made to sound like Zedd.
Baybee, let me tell you something. Lady Gaga isn't even all the way my type of gurl, but "Applause"? I listen to that song on repeat while I'm running, no matter how far I run. I love it.
So glad you enjoyed "Venus". I love it so much. My sister and my friends don't understand my love for it. I always felt I was alone in the world loving this song and it's chorus so abbaesque so great. This song is one of her best and the music is incredible. The instrumental version is on RUclips and I can't stop listenning and singing to it. Plus I so agree with much of what you said it's incredible. Yes Jewels 'n' Drugs is a mess that don't belong there and that doesn't work. Yes, if G.U.Y. was released earlier it would have been a massive hit, and yes Sexxx Dreams is great even with the break and the laughter. It's so nice. I love it. I never thought it sounded like Prince (I thought it sounded like Kylie Minogue like it belonged on her X album or something) but you're right, it also has an important Prince feel, now that you've mentionned it. But I don't agree with you on the song Artpop, it definitively belongs in that album and in that particular place because half way through the album on my first listen I already had a headache (because of the chaos and of the loudness of some of the songs and for me the song Artpop is really a needed relief there. But besides that, I agree with you and your video is great. Kudos.
I think you guys make some good points but please know your herstory. ARTPOP wasn't a comedy show. Also, the meat dress (previous era) had a meaning and she was extremely vocal about it being about discharged gay military personnel during Dont Ask Dont Tell. She wasn't just "doing whatever" during ARTPOP, and its almost comical the way it is depicted here. There wasn't one thing that she was doing that didn't have a meaning, whether or not it was lost to the general public. Also, it wouldn't hurt to do a few readings on ARTPOP to know what her vision was for it. Watch The Culture Show interview with her and then some others.
I am so glad you two are on the right side of history. Artpop walked so Chromatica could run.
Except ArtPop was actually good.
Let’s make one thing clear...Chromatica never walked never mind ran lol. it sat it’s ass down after the VMA’s as said “I’m good”
Artpop ran on RedBull while Chromatica had a Dr. Pepper. Artpop is far superior to Chromatica.
Chromatica will never be as good as ARTPOP. Bloodpop ruined it

OMG whole era was so crazy, even street looks were fucking crazy, amazing performances, those two music videos are fantastic. I love this whole era so much and I call her entire career ARTPOP.
i still have flashbacks to when ARTPOP dropped and tumblr was war
Meat dress was a statement on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, she was accompanied by gay service men and women who were discharged
Urgh I loved this era and then watching society reject it broke my soul. Out of all the concerts I've been to, ArtRAVE was the best too!
I would also argue that ARTPOP is her most cohesive as well on the production side. Many of the tracks are Zedd and the other tracks are made to sound like Zedd.
ARTPOP💎
I love Fashion! And Gypsy
Baybee, let me tell you something. Lady Gaga isn't even all the way my type of gurl, but "Applause"? I listen to that song on repeat while I'm running, no matter how far I run. I love it.
Unpopular oppinion: I think the whole album should have sounded like the title track.
Oh, and she was crying so hard in that Dope ad because it’s the day her old manager left her
Whereee? What ad??
@@saggytheclown9101 it’s the Dope performance at the RUclips Awards, it was turned into an ad
Kudos.
12:18 the pipes tho'
The maryjane demo is better than the original 😭
God ARTPOP era was so toxic for her but it was a great album!
This is perfect in all senses.
Love artpop so much. Gaga is my idol love her to bits
I’m so glad I have the CD so I can listen to the original DWUW. It’s a damn shame but I totally get it.
THE ORIGINAL FASHION WAS AMAZING
What about the app
Lady Gaga 💎

JUSTICE FOR ARTPOP YAS
