Nothing better than watching a woman be satisfied with a work of art well-done.
The local paranormal society will be investigating numerous reports of a "woman in white" haunting that B&B now. lol.
😂👍
This is my absolute dream dress. I always loved the dress in the white sands scene and i'm in awe! I wouldn't wear something different if i had this in my wardrobe.
Watching all of the historical costubers gives me hope that my own endeavors will improve. You're showing me what I've been doing wrong. Beautiful work!
That makes me so happy to hear! I was a beginner once, too, and making lots of mistakes 😊. I wish I had RUclips when I was starting out so I LOVE that my videos are helpful. I promise you will improve and learn with every single project - keep going! ❤️
Awww! I know exactly that spot where the Whole Food is 🤣 ! It made me so homesick - but your dress is amazing, and the location is out of this world!
:) :) :) :)
I'm so glad to see it completed! It's absolutely beautiful.
Thanks so much! ❤️
Soooo lovely, and the ending portion of the video is like a beautiful, romantic film! I spied the Molieres instantly; I sighed and wept a little because I never managed to get a pair when they were available. Your dress and entire look is just so beautiful! 🥰
I'm so sorry you missed them! They are definitely my favorite pair of shoes ever!
This is so beautiful - just everything about it! The final dress, all together with the undergarments, your hair and hat, the setting - it's all just perfect.
Thank you!
You look like Diana and she is giving serious Anne vibes. What a lovely conclusion to this project. It's such a great dress! Loved this and I'm now queuing up Anne of Green Gables for a binge.
Thank you so much!
I thought the same thing! And the music was very similar to what they played in the movies. I loved it😍
that is such a gorgeous dress! I love the floatiness, and would never have guessed that it had so much structure to it! Well done.
My husband says its a Trapezium in the US. A quadrilateral with no equal sides. Hes so nerdy its adorable. Love the contrast of the fit and floof.
Thank you!!!
Wow! Absolutely stunning. All of the fine detail work gives the costume that feel it really could of been made 100 years ago
Oh my gosh! You look sooooo pretty. All those ruffles really were worth it!
Thank you 😊
Amazing!
I am so glad I have found your channel! You explain what you’re doing so well and I’ve learned so much from this video!
the white on white is so very beautiful
You look so lovely and elegant. You friend looks nice also, I love your dress and hat ensemble. Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
You look exactly how I imagine Diana Barry would look like in the days of Anne of Windy Poplars.
Just perfect and stunning.
The both of you too, with you're friend having red hair.
Gorgeous dress, so well done for completing this so beautifully and being so entertaining throughout - the small strangulated noises are so much more expressive than mere language could ever convey! Thank you for sharing this, it’s a bad day in England - as in Europe generally with the plague looking set for another surge - so you alleviated contemplation of yet another period of self isolation (immunodeficiency diseases- bummer) nicely - thank you so much - have a bunch of virtual flowers 💐 from Blighty 🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰🌹🏴
Oh goodness thank you 😂. I didn't realize I made so many random noises until I started filming myself haha! Hope you guys get your spike back under control - of course we aren't even close to containment here so I definitely know that anxious feeling about it all!
When you were afraid to cut the fabric I though, phew this is not a beginner thing. 😄👏🏼 Seeing them all complete and all so beautiful is really to bright everyone’s eyes! 😍 I loved it in the end, it was like traveling in time. 🥰
To be transported, if only for a brief moment, to Avonlea! Anne would be very proud of your accomplished skill and devotion to your craft. 💕
Thank you so much :)
Such lovely floof. Love the way the dress came out. Also the air bnb you picked was just lovely.
Thank you! I got so lucky finding that place - it was perfect!
oh my goodness! the finished result is absolutely stunning! Fantastic work
Thank you so much!
LM Montgomery would be proud to have inspired such a lovely dress. Anne would have wanted to wear it. I can see Miss Stacey wearing it to the poetry recital.
Thank you! That is an excellent compliment :)
That bodice is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you!
You are absolutely beautiful in this dress. I am so happy to see it finished and that you were able to escape the city for awhile. The lock-down has been hard on most of us but you inspire me to continue perfecting my craft.
Thank you so much!
Glorious. Had reservations because it looked like underwear at first, but I was wrong. You look lovely and now I may have to try that dress for next summer. Thank you for this.
I usually shy away from white dresses for that very reason, but this one has changed my mind :)
I was really questioning that flounce on the front at first, but when it all came together, it really helps to create that S silhouette. Finishing touches make all the difference. Great job!
Ahhhh you look gorgeous and the costume is beautiful! Love the commentary and the reveal. Yes, the anguish was so worth it. Hope you get to spend more time out in the country. So beautiful! Best wishes from Down Under🇦🇺👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌸❤️👗👒😎
I hope so too!
What a stunning dress, it was really useful to see all the construction bits like the waist tape.
Simply gorgeous!! And now I'm off to watch "Howards End" again. Thanks for the inspiration! I love Edwardian fashions.
You're so welcome! It's been a long time since I've seen that movie and I definitely need to see it again!
I watched it last night. The outfits are lovely
this dress is a dream come to life. I'm so happy it turned out well for you
Thank you!
Now THAT is an absolutely stunning and gorgeous outfit! Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
Somehow I managed to find part 3 without finding parts 1 & 2 first, but I enjoyed it anyway. That's a lovely dress. I'll follow your link above to 1&2.
I piece quilts, and I always over buy fabric. I'm afraid of making a mistake and running out of fabric.
Cheney at NotYourMammasHistory is an excellent presenter. I like the way she discusses the flaws in our past without sounding mean and critical. Gives me a lot to think about.

First time at your channel... beautiful 🌹 just a stunning outfit... thank you for sharing your techniques 💜
Welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Stunning! I adore those sleeve ruffles.
They turned out so great - that may be my favorite part of the whole dress!
Very beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing. It gives me inspiration to work on my own sewing projects!
It turned out to be such a beautiful dress, reminds me of the Road to Avonlea tv show. And you are amazing that you could make it without an actual pattern.
Great job! You look fantastic and the dress is gorgeous.
Thank you!
I like your dress so much! It's so pretty! 😻
Thank you so much!
You and your friend both look stunning darling! All you need now is a little hand bag and parasol to match your dress.
oh its so lovely! and im jealous of your picnic, i still cant go more than 5km from my house haha
to Sophie. "Stay at Home" is a real bummer.

Omg this is so incredibly beautiful! The dress is frickin gorgeous. Also, side note, I really love your hair
Thank you! I am excited about my grey streaks!
I'm setting my next sleeve by hand, for sure. All the complaints you have about using a machine apply to me. THANKS FOR THE CONFIDENCE! ❤️
You got this!!! I believe in you ☺️
It turned out so beautiful! I'm in love with those ruffly sleeves! And the fabric you used is so gorgeous too! I want to find some fabric like this and make a ton of blouses out of it!
I wish I had lots more of it to do them same! I really love fabrics with woven sheer stripes like this!
beautiful and a lovely home too
So lovely! This dress is just beautiful!
Thank you!
This is a very elegant dress. Thank you.
You're welcome 😊
Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Lovely finish and lovely location! No P.E.I. of course ... but still lovely!
Your result is poetry. It is good for me to see how much it takes to achieve the result of seeming simplicity. Delightful.
It really was so much work for a dress that looks so light and easy 😂
So pretty and flattering on you! 😍 and I loved the dress reveal! While I love the look of the earlier Edwardian era, all the ruffles make me look like a little boy, so I prefer to wear the later part of the era on myself.
wow.
This is lovely. In case you need more of this fabric in your stash, there seems to be one yard left on stonemountainfabric site under Swiss dot stripe.
Oooh thank you!
I've loved watching this whole process. Do you have a video somewhere on tips for fitting yourself?
what a beautiful dress, although the seams you have used are closer to a flat felled seam they aren't french seams, regardless of that, what a superb finish!!
You're right! When I filmed that bit and did the voiceover I had *just* finished making a corset cover with French seams and they were in my head!
the gown is glorious, dear one, and you look exquisite in it!
Thank you so much
Beautiful dress...love it...but I would be so afraid walking on the grass and getting grass stains on my dress....thanks for taking us along this awesome journey...tfs
No stains at all! The train still looks brand new!
That fabric is absolutely lovely! So light and delicate! Aren't you afraid of it getting dirty with the train trailing behind though?
Well done! Nothing else to say.
😊😊😊
You look absolutely beautiful, like something of an oldie biscuit tin or an image of a lady who is having high tea.
Hahaha totally my goal :)
This dress is stunning! Do you remember where you got your fabric? That is so beautiful and I'd like to make a top and skirt just like that. I have some patterns that I could use to make it. I look all over for fabrics like that, but just don't find them. Do you have a resource for beautifully delicate fabrics like that? I like the delicate fabrics so much and the pure white is just perfect and I can never find them!!! Thank you so much for posting this project. It is just perfection!
It came from a random facebook group where another sewist was destashing her fabric. No idea where she got it unfortunately!
✌🏼
This is amazing! You are so talented. What kind of scissors do you use? Do you have a recommendation for a good kind?
Thank you! I have several pairs I use. Some of my favorites are from Burnley and Trowbridge. I also have a lovely pair of ginghers.
This turned out quite nicely. And the end was so dreamy. Now, dish. How did your hem fair in the grass? Do you have a removable ruffle? What is the washing like? Stay well.
It was 100% fine! I was pretty surprised! The skirt is nice and light so it kind of floats along the ground, but I probably will make a removable ruffle if I need to wear it somewhere where I will be walking around a lot.
Wunder, 🌸🌸🌸Wunderschön🌸🌸🌸💕
Is that fabric still available? Where did you buy it? I love that pulled dotted swiss fabric so much!!! I believe that is to me the most beautiful white fabric I have ever seen!!!
It was from a random facebook destash sales group - not sure where the former owner got it
Love how this turned out, beautiful and very feminine. Where did you get the gold handled shears? I want a pair.
Thank you! I've had them for so long that I can't remember, but they are Gingher brand so maybe they are still available!
Thank you I will look them up!
I have a question! When you added the boning to the back, is the boning channel for the side back curved seam, how did you attach it? I was a bit confused on how is the side back bone casing attached without curving too dramatically.
No, it's such a shallow curve that it didn't require any special shaping, but you can gently heat plastic boning with an iron (with a cloth between the plate and the bone) and shape it by hand when it's warm.
Thank you! I will be making a dress bodice with a similar back seam style and I might have to bone that part in case it will wrinkle.
Beautiful!
Stunning!
