This is one of my favorites as well. I used to do this workout back in the 90's from about the ages 4-10 and it helped normalize to me a lot of healthy ideas. Ideas of working really hard, failing and getting better, body norms of shapes/size/color, and taking care of your body no matter what your toxic masculine brother and uncles say. I just did this workout again and have to say it is one of the best workouts ever, especially for people like me who need to spend quite a lot of time sitting at desks.
The students in my high school used to wear the shiny spandex/lycra outfits in different colors especially for workout and also contemporary/modern dance training and performing. I have also worn them! They are fantastic outfits to wear!!
Wow peeps, you guys knew how to exercise back then, this guy is one of the best I’ve seen on YTube. It really works to tighten the buns, been doing it for 2 months and the results are amazing, who needs to go to the gym…thanks Mr Smyth, this will go down in history as the best exercise video ever.
Thanks so much ~ finally a full-length version! This has been my workout for many years & thankful to workout anywhere instead of having to rely on playing my DVD or VHS (yes, really!)
Thank you so much for posting this! I am on my 2nd week and just love it! EDIT ADDITION on 11-7, I have been doing 2x per week for 2 months now & I have more volume & firmness. I will keep it up & will begin 3x per week. I LOVE THIS WORKOUT! EDIT ADDITION 5/15/23 I am now doing 3x per week. Definitely improving!!
Growing up my mom, in her 40s, did this exercise tape everyday and I would join in as long as I could before tapping out. Now in my 20s I’m revisiting this because I want to tone up! Such a great video!
Good Day and WOW!!! This gave me such a feeling of being in my 20's. So glad I came upon this workout. Look at the workout outfits, oh yeah :-) Thank you Greg, you are right, we can do anything we want to do. Stay blessed.
So glad I found this! I loved it growing up and no longer have a VHS so I couldn't use it. Now that it's on youtube I can do it again! Thank you for uploading it!! ❤ Love Greg! "Squeeze those cheeseburgers!" 😊
Wow...I just found one of mine Favorites...did it for years....the first time...couldn't open my legs...Ja Ja had to walk on my knees😂😂😂will start tmo again...Thank you guys!!!
Thanks so much for posting! I used this video to get back in shape after having children and know every move and line. Happy to still be doing again with a few slight modifications!
I’m so thankful to have found this work out! This was my first workout in my teens and I went on to get really into fitness. However I developed extreme iron deficiency that led to heart issues and after many years of trial and error I have now learned to manage it. I needed something low impact that wouldn’t stress my heart too much yet would still produce results, and this is just perfect! It’s been years since I worked out and I lost most of my muscle mass. In my mid-40s now… and here I am, squeeezing those cheeseburgers out of those thighs! 😅🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing this gem.
Im excited and terrified to get this started again. I did this every day in my 20s.. im 100 lds heavier now in my 50s and this is going to be interesting 😬😬😬❤👍🏼
So glad I found this on UTube. I also had the VHS tape in the late 80's and loved it. I can say without a doubt that this is the best workout to really get you in shape, but you do have to be consistent, which I am. Thank you Greg Smithey.
Thanks Deb, love this workout. I agree, one of the best workout! Been doing this workout off and on since 1987. I had forgotten how much it works. So glad I started up again.👍
This looks good for rehab for lower back. As it will strengthen glutes and core. Plus flexibility. And because its quite dynamic get a light cardio aerobic workout too.
My 80’s mom used to make me do this video as well as “abs of iron” for PE when I was homeschooled. I hated it, it’s intense how was this stuff a thing!! And for an hour too! Whew!
Yay! I did this tape after having a baby YEARS AGO!! And yes indeed it works!! What every happened to Greg? I looked up and Tammy took over the Buns of Steele series, well, here I go again😄 Thats for the download ❤️
The second girl behind Greg with the pink tights was in a workout video for the lower body with a bit of aerobics, I had the video but I can't remember the name and I have been searching and I still haven't found it. In the video she did some floor work with a chair. Can anyone help me out here?
Hi Lilly, this really works, I've been doing it 1-3 times a week for over 2.5 years and I'm not slowing down! I started Buns of Steel after an injury. Now, I walk well, and I feel and look great. 5x week will make you seriously sore, but stretch well and consistently and you should be fine.
Yeah, what I do is just alternate the side I start with each time I do the workout. That way it all evens out in the long term, but I don't need to break up the flow :)
@@emilyparnell4661 i do that too -- 2x/week: monday=mirror/ friday=flip is how i remember which to do (other workouts on the other days -- this is the only one i do as frequently). i was wondering if anyone had counted the differences. i did count 'carrot cake' and it was about 10 more on the first side.
Just did this with ankle weights and I now know hell
😂😂
Seriously!! I used to do this in my 20s & it was hard.. in my 50s its brutal 😩
I started this workout in my mid 20’s and I’m now in my 60’s still has the same effect on my body as then. Love it.
Same with me and I've lost about 22 lbs. Its so beneficial to be working out like this at our age. (Sounds depressing, I know!)
I was soooo happy to find this same video... I too use to do this one in my 20'S & 30'S and am starting again today at age 58 🙂🥰
Me too!!!
@@shinyoldhide3913me too!
@@joannesowle2547not depressing! We rule!
Im so excited to find this. Used to have it on VHS and watched it so much it broke. I knew all of the Oohs and Ahhs and his silly comments by heart!
This is old, but one if the hardest workouts ever!! Glad to see it again!
One of the best workouts in the history of fitness
When I was 18, this seriously got me into crazy, good shape!!!! I’m now 43.
I used to do this workout with my grandma when I was little. It is still my favorite workout of all time!
Me to!

This video helped me lose 40 pounds. Greatest workout ever my mum gave it to me
I always thought that Greg was the greatest and his videos have much more natural ease than many other older aerobic videos.

Have worked out with Greg for over 30 years! Missed you Greg! Best floor exercises!

I dont think any video out there can compete with this original workout.

I hated the endless leg raises. But it helped my taekwondo at the time.
Is always a chanllenging video
Where can I get this audio music?

Ty for posting...🍏
Love you deb, love the chocolate too..
Thanks Steve. And thanks for your generosity. Ashley appreciates your hospitality.
Thank you so much!
is it Kenny Loggins in charge?
The lady with the white tights & pink bodysuit was considered overweight in the 80s. No joke. So strange when u compare to now.
Then what was the lady on her right considered as?🤔
Is it necessary to do that intensive warm-up? To me that’s a workout in itself and by the time the actual workout begins I’m already exhausted!
Most people who do the tape only do the 30m buns workout. The warmup doesn’t do much and there are better ab workouts.
I find the warmup helpful, but sometimes I replace it with a half-mile of running. So, not strictly necessary.
Yayyyyy thank you!!
hi everyone, what results did you get, does this really work if I do this 5 days a week when will I see results thanks!

@@ErinGaffney4Centuries Hi Erin thanks soo much for your reply, really appreciate it, well today is the day I start. I bet you look amazing
Never work the same muscle group 2 days in a row. The recovery day is when the muscle rebuilds. Every other day would be a good goal though.
This is the most effective workout I have found for toning the thighs. It works if you work it, kind of like AA lol.

The two sides don't match. Some are WAY off. I recommend pausing and counting on your own to make sure you get an even workout.
