@@nb4821 I dont think these bikes are meant to be pampered. If you're not trying to take these bikes to its limit and testing its threshold then I see no point in taking these bikes to the track. The track is the only place the bike will come alive and be in it's natural environment. People need to remember, these 1000cc+ supersport bikes have no place on the roads, you will never feel it's TRUE nature until its released on a closed controlled environment without all the unpredictable elements that the roads will throw at you. If I'm going to watch a review on a 1000cc bike, I'm expecting to see/hear a review coming from someone who is wringing its neck to its max, bc if these guys are telling you these are great bikes, for us regular folks who go to the track once in a while but do a majority of street riding, then that means these bikes can handle and outride us any day.

If the carbon fiber doesn't really do anything substantial to lighten up the bike then it's kind of pointless, although looks very cool. Sports cars can justify carbon fiber but on a bike it just adds significant cost for not much benefit.

I had an anomaly…..after some modifications to my bike by my local shop (when living in Mexico City) I discovered they cut almost all wires to install a hand at riser on my Tuono and simply tied them together and wrapped with electrical tape. Mexico City is at high elevation and when I went up in the mountain it would always stall. Or it could have been the low pressure that built up in the fuel tank due to a blockage in a vent hose causing the ECU to sense something was off in the fuel/air mixture…emergency engine light would come on and shut bike down…..every time above 11k foot elevation. Bizarre. Still riding my other old older 2010 Tuono V2…battle axe with no issues!

Just set your suspension for the job at hand, you don't get one bike that is great at everything, you can set it up to suit the ride and rider but if you want a track bike go for something designed with that in mind if you want a commuting bike then get something sorted for that else you must compromise somewhere but I've been riding for 13 years and setting a sports bike up for comfort is not hard then track day settings and you good to go, it's really simple but these days people don't put in the time to learn these things they just want to get on and have everything perfect

I love the sound of an R1 but the motorcycle is just useless on the road. Then if you want to have that motor but be comfortable the MT10 is just extremely ugly. I don’t get why manufacturers can make a track and road version of their sport bikes.

I agree. I completely adore the Crossplane 4 Engine but the R1 is useless in real world and the MT10 is so ugly, they really should make a XSR1000.

To me it's amazing that Yamaha can still make such a great performing in spite of these regulations. While I do agree that the Euro 4 and 5 laws that Yamaha has done this to comply to are too strict, and the end of the day, we have a wonderfully performaning bike that emits less.
