I will FULLY VOUCH for this process! At least for Windshield Wipers. Previously, I was replacing my wipers once a year or more and being car proud, I was buying the expensive Bosch wipers. I followed this process on March 6th 2019 and I still have the same wipers! Like new, zero signs cracking or signs or wear & tear! Can't thank you enough; my savings must be at least a couple hundred dollars at this point.
That is FANTASTIC Adam!!! We agree 100%, this is a $$ saver! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your stupendous results, we truly appreciate it, hope you have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Awesome to know. I can do this to my car, but not my wife's., If i do this to her car, she won't see how important i am in here life. Imagine, if she never needs a belt, oil change, car detailed, tune up, Tire Rotation, etc. Making her belt or any car part last forever would make me useless, I can't have none of that 😂 Thanks again for a another great tip 👍
A very good tip. Most people wont understand, that treating rubber will always make (and keep) it softer, thereby giving it a much better grip, without tensioning it way too hard. Thats also why a squealing belt instantly gets silent when sprayed with silicone spray. Thanks for the video !
My friend I could’ve not said it better than you just did people have to understand soft pliable rubber lasts so much longer and it has so much more grip
You are the man, great tips and ideas on how to do things right. Love your channel, I'm 60 and still learning. I always worked on my own cars... Thank you very much.
Larry we have used the product you asked about and found it was just an expensive version of a liquid wax of sorts, so we discontinued use thanks for asking my friend
It's been a while since I originally watched this vid and followed what you said. Thanks man. This magic sauce is amazing! I used it on everything elses besides serpentine belts. I used it on wiper blade - extended service life from 3 to 18 months. My brand new Pitrellii tires quickly worned down from 11 to 8/32 in just 2000 miles, me I marinate my tires everytime I do an oil change and it's been over 50K I only went from 8/32 to 5/32 with very very very little dry rots. Man oh man, I used it on everything else too. New expensive shoes these days unless treated with 303 formula the outsole would wear out after 5 months. I'm a heal striker so the entire thickend most part would go flat in 5 months. Marinate it with 303 and after 3 years the outsole outlasted the shoes body. The body gave up before the outsole worn down! Holy crap I use it on everything around the house, I sprayed on soft pleather (PU) seat to slow down dry rot, pant belt, all of my car rubber parts(cv boots, strut boots, steering boots, engine mount, etc) , wheel barrel left out in the open sun. I live in the Mojave desert so we get pounded by sun UV - this product stood up to the test! What he said in this video is 100% accurate, I've time tested the product. It's amazing in 5 years this company has only risen their price on a whole gallon by $10 as of 2022. It's $60 now so that's not too bad considering how much you are saving. Just remember, the longer you marinate the product the longer it lasts. I usually go for 24hrs. Just be extra caution when using on shoes, it might strip away your vanish - just repaint it using polish Wally sells polish, cleaner, and valish all in one stick for $5
Hey man I have been a mechanic for over 25yrs now and I am so DAM happy I came across your channel I will be using every trix that you have showed me on all my customers cars and I have done them to my personal 02 Chevy Monte Carlo SS and it's never ran quieter THANK you for the tips
Tony we are glad we could help you and you are an awesome subscriber my friend wait to you see the two videos we put out this week and have a great weekend
303 soak for 10-15mins, let air dry for 24hrs, reinstall and you wont have issues for long long time. I did this yesterday on my 07 acura TL with a bando brand belt, it was not cracked and didnt look old but still squealed like crazy. Thank you this saved me from having to buy another belt and having the same issue.
Nice!! Glad we could help Joey! Thank you for watching and sharing your results, we really appreciate it, hope you have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike
I've used 'belt dressing' in the past with limited results. I've actually considered doing this very thing to all of my accessory belts but was always a little concerned that it might did more harm than good. Nice to know that it works as I would've expected, even better, actually. I'm less concerned with the cost to replace the belts since it isn't usually THAT expensive or often they require replacement. However, anything that improves longevity/reliability is important to me. Thanks for the tip!
To anyone who doubts this: What did we do years back to the leather we used on horse buggies, bridles and harnesses? Folks back then didn't want their leather rotting and falling apart so they treated the leather and it lasted them for years. This is the same thing. Great stuff!
I worked in the serviceshop where we service Ariens and Husqvarna snow blowers, i used something similar to 303, and this truly does work, some do last longer than others, i started coating the belts with rubber protective coatings, customers was pleased with not having to change belts literally every year.
I tried this procedure using Armor All Protectant. It works GREAT!!!! Thank you for this great idea for making serpentine belts last! These belts are not cheap and this trick works.
We do not recommend using armor all it will actually remove the moisture overtime from the rubber the 303 is water-based that’s why we use that, we I have never had good luck over time with anything else other than the 303. Just keep your eye on your belt make sure it is not drying out. Have a great day my friend
I have commented twice on youtube since I have been on here. Your videos and links are short, sweet, to the point, and deserve appreciation. And save a LOT of money and time. Have ordered the spray on for tires from your other video, gallon for belts and other stuff, dental tools for packing synthetic grease in the new bearings after disintegrating a tensioner pulley. We have 3 old Mercedes and through your links and videos I estimated I just saved over $1,500 in repairs (labor, parts store tensioners, belts, idlers, etc) on 3 vehicles as my son and wife's cars need new belts too. Replacing all belts soaked in 303 and packing new tensioner pulleys and idler pulleys for both along with tires, wiper blades, etc. Thank you so much for doing videos that get RIGHT TO THE POINT and giving actionable links in the descriptions with great pricing on the products you show. Very much appreciated
Dave we consider this a REAL HONOR and I am totally serious...the fact you have only commented twice and we are the second place for you to have done this means more to us than you could ever imagine, comments like yours make it all worth it for all the time and effort it takes to do this videos...and we will be here to help those Mercedes (which I love) stay running and do continue to do it affordably :) thank you again Mike.
'97 E420, '99 E320 wagon, and '01 S500. We love them too. I have done videos myself and people really don't understand with as good as your videos are, all the editing that goes into them! Thank you,
Dave thanks so much, and it does take time, average time into one 5 min video alone, shooting and editing is about 5 hours...but when you love what you do and hope others do as well and share our video channel it makes it all worth it.
After taking "Sweet Project Cars" advise, and it stopped the squealing of my belt (Permanently)!!!! I used his advise again on a 18 year old Vacu Vise ball vise that would not suck to anything. Soaked it for a couple of hours .It was like brand new! Sweet Project Cars channel is legit!!!!!!! Thanks dude!!!
I just ordered this product because of this channel. They owe you some royalties! I have not used it yet. I hope it works! I think it will. Keep the awesome videos coming!😎
Glad to hear that hulk You’ll love the product you can use it on rubber plastic vinyl leather and it will make it last like you’ll Make it last like you will never believe Have a great day my friend
I bought some 303 and you were so right. 👍 Thank you! However, I would like to mention that we need to check the belt ribs with a rib check gage. The gage measures the depth and width of the ribs so that the belt does not get slippage. A modern belt can wear but not show cracking. A worn out belt can snap which can cause engine damage. Also, belt slippage can cause horsepower loss and impact alternator, water pump, a/c compressor inefficiencies. Belts are relatively inexpensive so treat them by all means but check them for wear. I believe that Gates and Continental have free gages. BELTS ROCK!
B Souza thank you for sharing yes with all the methods we share, normal everyday inspection and adjusting still needs to be done on all parts of a vehicle to keep them running and lasting :)
This guy is a godsend...put some 303 on my squeaking belt and it stopped the terrible noise..Ford dealership told me it was the seal's on the water pump with a cost of 750 bucks to replace...I use 303 on everything now..dose wonders on leather sneakers and shoes.
Yet another great idea I never would have thought of. It makes perfect sense. You (should) condition all the other plastic and rubber parts on your car. Why not the belts? Reminds me of using glycerin on the rubber band on little balsa model planes when I was younger. I learn more watching a six minute video of yours than I do in twenty minutes of most other videos on You Tube. Thanks for the video.
I've used belt dressings before but never thought to actually condition a belt thinking it would make it slip, great idea and video! I happen to JUST buy a new best belt I could find for my Porsche and am going to give this a try.
Aerospace 303 is totally awesome! Been using it for years, but never thought to treat a serp. belt with it... GREAT idea! I have a new belt for the old C5 Vette... its gonna get treated before install.
Thanks for the tip! I've been using 303 Aerospace Protectant on my car's plastic and rubber trim, for years. It's brilliant stuff, with 30+ UV protection. I didn't consider using it for belts. I would have thought the belt would be more likely to slip, because 303 Aerospace Protectant leaves a very smooth & slippery sheen. I've never seen it available in anything larger than a small spray bottle, either.
I'm with you it works like crazy and we have never had issues with it slipping whatsoever with 100's of customers cars, try it you will love the results, you can buy the gallons of it online amazon ebay walmart...thanks so much for the comments.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm in Australia. They seem to like to limit our portions to tiny sizes. I'm guessing it's partially due to less dense population (less market for larger containers) and likely because no-one's started selling larger containers of anything like 303, so us suckers continue to pay the high prices that go with small bottles. Have you ever tried the Auto Glym range? They have a glass polish that takes all that horrible film off the inside of windows and it works on the outside, after the normal cleaning. There's also a brilliant product for paintwork. I don't remember it's current name. It used to be called Auto Glaze. It goes on like a polish, but it actually has beads of glass in it, so it leaves paintwork even more shiny than the windows! (Need to be gentle applying it, though, as the glass beads can end up scratching the paintwork.)
thats too bad on the size of the bottle there, and thank you on the suggestions we will look into it, thank you so much for your true contributions to our channel :)
@@jublywubly hey there from Australia - I've tried 303 Protectant (rubber/vinyl) & it seems to be working. I'm sure you could use the Autoglym vinyl/rubber care too :)
Since I've been commenting about 4 months ago trying this technique to the new belt to see if it's true or not, I find it still looks like new and the writing on the conveyor belt is still readable even though I use the car almost 250km each day, the meter also shows almost 30,000km of travel and I'm supposed to be ready to change to the new one. this technique really saves money. videos from Sweet Project Cars never disappoint me ... I will continue to support you. Sweet Project Cars is the best Video for all of you..thank you so much. thumbs up
Sweet Project Cars can i use this on timing belts? does thiscweaken the belt? does it decrease resistance on the belt making it easier to spin on the pulleys and cam gears?
I just change my serpentine belt it had 110,000 miles on it. It had no cracks and look good. It was the factory installed belt. I changed it b/c the owners manual indicated it needed to be changed. I am what you call an outlier my car is a 2005 and I finally went over 110k miles. My wife still drives her 87 and it has 135,000 miles. I wish I had seen this before I changed it. Btw, I think this guy is a true man of genius.
You must keep that company in business lol such a versatile product! Luckily for me, the belt on my BMW is easy peasy to change. I can do it in under 2 minutes but I'm still tempted as you've proven it has many uses :)
Sweet Project Cars its not just the money part...what about the work/ aggravation involved with changing the belt...and the chance of being stranded goes wayy up on a untreated belt... good job sir...
*Sounds like you can do this with the Belt installed, if you just use a spray bottle and spray the inside and outside of the belt and let it sit then wipe it off.. You may have to hit the starter a few times to get the entire belt area.. Easy to Reapply that way also, without having to remove the belt..*
I watched this video 6mo or so ago and used the technique on my F250 7.3 serpentine belt that was chirping a little. The belt is relatively new and a very good brand and quality but still chirping. This fixed it right up. Much better than belt dressing and is lasting longer.
Your the man!!! I tried this and and it worked! Saved 50 bucks! Auto zone wanted 65 bucks for a cheap belt. Paid $15 to stop the squealing! As I said before...You are the man!!!!!
What an awesome tip! I just inherited a 1999 Toyota 4Runner and it needs a lot of TLC ;-) I'm pretty broke, had to drive it home 250 miles w/a split alternator belt & leaky power steering line. Slowed the leak down to a trickle with silicone tape & a hose clamp. Have the belt and will definitely do this before installing! Thanks for helping out the little guy ;-) Liked & sub'd
I started thinking about it... and realized that using 303 on the rubber of a speaker cone would keep them pliable and last much longer. The 303 would protect it from the ozone and heat and stop them from cracking and becoming brittle. Maybe something worth trying out??? I also use 303 on my tires after using a really good cleaner on them. It also protects them from UV and keeps them from getting dried out here in Cali
Sweet Project Cars oh I've been using it for a while before I saw your videos, but I never would have thought of using it on my belts or wipers. I just thought those others might make for another good video to share with the public :)
I've been sharing yalls videos in a few lexus threads that I'm in 18 year old car with interior that looks 18 days old thanks to yalls methods and tips with 303!
This works, my mentor showed me this 20 some years ago (different product, almost identical ingredients). I've used the same rubber 100's of times w/o any problems as long as I rinsed thoroughly. The rest of the unopened, long expired box completely disintegrated years ago.
Here it is amzn.to/2WQg0sB we don't mention a lot about the products as we leave all of those in the SHOW MORE of the videos description so anybody can go there and find it. Thanks and have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
yes sir this will work on any belt :) great question thank you but let me ADD you can treat them but most manufacturers require them to be changed on certain time or mileage intervals so it's best to follow that on timing belts only.
timing belt stretch and breakage tend to result in a simple engine replacement unless you have a non interference engine, if you have a non interference subaru ect it could be a fun experiment as long as you carry spare belt and tools and are single. if you are not single this will likely lead to becoming single.
Timing belts typically fail due to an idler or water pump seizing, which is why they are all replaced at the same time. The belt also stretches over time due to the forces applied. When it breaks, at best you'll be left stranded. If the engine is interference, you'll be looking at destroyed valves and possibly a destroyed head(s) and pistons.
Thanks for the information.I have been working on vehicles since i was 7 years old and i am 68 now.It is really good information since the newer cars are a pain to work on .Compared to a 57 chevy with a 283.
Frank Cuizio I'm with you my friend, i remember my old 70 Nova SS and my 70 Z-28 they were a piece of cake to work on ...have a great day and thank you for being here with us:)
Take it or Leave it, why even bother to be a? This man is just doing something that could be useful to anyone, it didn’t cost me a penny, to watch it, if I could save a dollar because of it , I should be Thankful to this Man.
it does not you see how dry the belt was in the video ...once you treat it, it conditions the rubber then the excess vapes. thank you very much glad to have you here :)
@@CRM537 you probably can but that stuff is like a detailing product for your car so if it gets all over the engine it might stain it or make it smell weird and you may not be able to fully coat the belt since it’s tensioned on the pulleys, but you probably can if you spray the exposed parts and dry them then go back and crank over the motor so the pulleys move the belt a bit then spray the dry parts and make sure to dry it off after spraying it and before you turn the car on or crank it over because that stuff will probably make the belt slip if you don’t dry it
It's not Armorall and does not behave the same. This stuff you can put on your steering wheel, allow to sit a while and then just lightly buff with a cloth and it does not turn the wheel slippery. It also has a matte look on the surfaces.
Saving money for sure is important. It gives me peace of mind to know that I can go 100's instead of 10's of thousands of mile before a belt brakes! Do you happen to know the active chemicals in that solution? Great video. Cheaper is better in this case.
BRILLIANT! Thank you for the very useful tip!..Particularly useful when you have a supposed higher end vehicle, where labor charges are akin to signing away your first born!
303 works on belts just like this guy says. I treat a new belt just the way this guy did. I don't pour the 303 back into the 303 container though, as I use it up on my tires and plastic surfaces like the dash or trim. Also, I, once in a while, directly spray the installed belt with 303 just for the insurance of added 303. Enjoy!
It's like a new car! My 2003 Highlander not only doesnt squeel on startup, it runs smoother, quieter, and turning is more responsive! Maybe I had really bad belts but this trick gave me a new car! Thanks!
this product is for use on all rubber and leather and vinyl and plastic...it will keep most anything i mentioned from dry rotting...thanks for the great question :)
I flat out did not know this was an option. Belts, bushings, tires, buff it into weather stripping, buff it into a dash after restoring from any cracks (I'm guessing 'aerospace protectant' covers solar exposure), just 'wow'. Spend the money right the first time folks.
FixItYourselfAndSave It definitely will not hurt, but this specific product is not intended for exteriors because of the lack of durability. One rain or wash and it is completely washed off.
I know it works. I worked at boat canvas shop and we couldn't praise 303 Aerospace Protectant more for vinyl seats and vinyl glass windows, convertible tops and vinyl car tops, Jeep tops and Jeep windows. The stuff is amazing. Anything that has a UV protectant and made for vinyl is just as good-Son of a gun, Amorall, etc. too.
I'm less concerned with the cost of a serpentine belt. For me, it's more about making my vehicle as reliable as possible. Good tip.👍🏻 The same trick can be used to preserve suspension bushings. 🚗
oh I fully know that, but it is also the rubber that protects those cords and fabric from the elements :) Much like the orange peel protects the fruit inside...so if we care for the rubber on the outside we help the belt to "live another day" longer...
Serpentine belts are made with a radial cord that I was taught cannot stretch. I have used them to pull engines they are so strong long ways. Usually when a belt slides off it is where the flat side of the belt contacts a smooth pulley. When the belt gets slippery off it comes. Its really common on Chrysler mini vans. You spit at the idler pulley the belt comes off. No doubt oil will mess up a belt also.
yes we live in michigan and have the same problem with slat and chloride you have to keep them washed at least once a week and make sure they are rust proofed and good wax on the body and lots of clear on the rims.
Awesome! It's the best time to condition that belt, when it's off and brand spanking new! Thank you for watching and sharing, hope you have a great week. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Can the existing belts be treated while on car? Obviously not the ideal thing, but was thinking if they can be reached and coated, would be better than nothing?
I am going to be changing all my belts on a Tacoma pretty soon. I am going to try this as I have some 303. I use the 303 for my vinyl boat seats and it is a great product!
I'm a fan of 303 Protectant, but honestly, other than a couple instances where an A/C compressor or an alternator locked up, I've never had a serpentine belt last less than 100,000 miles. They're usually still in good shape even then, but belts are cheaper than my time. If I'm going to the trouble of removing the belt, I'm going to replace it with a new one.
You have nice vids, but info on what you are using is either so quickly shown, or not shown at all….like you assume we know what you are using…I like new info on things, but hate trying to figure out what you are using to produce the results

You *seriously* need your on TV show, don't know if the masses would like all your Awesome $$ saving tips being broad cast but I think you could make it into the best auto/car show out...
i am curious so the belt now has 600k miles on it? something isnt adding up. video was posted a couple days ago. and already you have driven 300k miles o-0
Actually the belt may not "crack" but over time the belt will loose it's dimensions and stretch out making it less tension for a vehicle that has an auto tensioner...
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COMPLAINERS, THIS IS A GREAT THING! A lot of people on here are just greedy parts replacers or they work for the belt companies. This is a great thing, even if it doubles the interval. Hats off to the guy who posted this, he is an honest mechanic. Why waste your time any money needlessly. I do now how to work on cars, but I would rather not HAVE to, and I would rather save the money. Also, if you rent like I do, you don't always have a good place to work on your car when something NEEDS to be repaired, or it is raining etc. I live in California, and mechanics in Sacramento are ridiculous in regards to what they charge for simple things. $156 plus tax for the labor to do sparks plugs, not including the plugs which I was quoted another $80 for. LOL, I got NGK platinum(oem Nissan part) for like $35 bucks and it took me 30 min. to do my plugs. That is a lot of money saved! Belts and labor plus tax would easily be $80 in Sacramento CA, PLUS I would have to arrange drop off/pick up for my car during the work week. Most mechs where I live aren't open Saturday. If this saves me the time and money (1) time in two years it is worth it. Leaving your car with a mechanic is a hassle, period, for anybody who doesn't have the knowledge, have a place to, or have the time to work on their own car. Or have a reputable mechanic he deals with. I don't mind spending the money to have someone fix my car, but in my part of the country it is very hard to find someone who is honest, reasonably priced, and actually knows what they are doing.
can I spray on a serpentine belt already in place while engine off, and periodically spray so to get different sections of the belt and let dry? or just spray and start engine so conditioner will spread to other parts of the belt?
Good that you said, "any" protectant cause I used Mother's... I just sprayed it on and wiped off, but still damp after being completely soaked so allowing it to hang dry for a good while before I put it on...
I hope this isn't a dumb question, but is this simillar to armor-all protectant? and could i simply spray it on the existing belt and wipe away excess? Thank you.
Charles Nolan sorry my friend it 303 is nothing like armor-all, thats why we use it, do this video ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html if you want to treat an existing belt already mounted to your car. hope this helps:)
Actually any vinyl & rubber conditioner will work fine. I used Meguiars on this several years ago and it worked just like the 303 did. Ive been detailing for 18 years and have seen a lot of products come and go and Meguiars Mioor Glaze products are always consistent.(The beige bottles)
@@SweetProjectCars thanks for the respond! Its nice to see people keep up with their videos.(I know it can be hard with 1000s of idiots hitting you up daily)
True. I always keep my old belt because I know I'm going to have to replace the belt on the side of the road someday when it breaks! Probably in the winter when it's 50 below zero. But having a spare belt can literally save your life in those kind of conditions.
I'm about to do an Alfa 147 at 85,000km and it hasn't had a belt change in 7 years. I've just bought a litre of 303 off ebay and with a little luck this is the last belt change I'll ever have to do on the car. I'll be doing the auxilliary belt at the same time. Nice one! BTW I'm in Australia and the larger bottles seem to be available now.
Awesome haiqu! Thank you for watching and sharing, glad to have you here with us from Australia and glad you were able to get your hands on the 303! Have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Belt will stretch in the fullest of time. You will have to adjust belt tension once so often. Best resolve is to buy a kevlar racing belt. Gates make them.
yes you can do timing belts but on the interference systems, you will still need to change them per the manufactures timelines as far as mechanics not letting you bring your own stuff in then you need to find another mechanic that values your business, that's what we did.
Sweet Project Cars - Most of the time it's because customers bring in the wrong parts for their vehicle and the mechanic gets the vehicle stuck on their lift wasting 1-2 hours if not more getting the correct part in. There's a reason behind it.
Orlando you are exactly correct and use it on the vinyl siding of your home and that will last for years and will not fade it is an amazing product there’s no doubt about it thank you for sharing my friend
I had lived in many states from PA., MA GA and CA, AL WI and latest MO. I owned many Japanese cars and ran into this problem from 1983-today! The "boss" of repair shop keep "lecture" me about installation customer part as "buying food from one store and consume it inside the different restaurant". First I heard about this was 1983 in MA and recently about 2 hours ago in Ballwin, MO. shop. I also hate parts "Made in China" that forced upon me by the car repair shop in the US. I had issue with low quality parts and people because I had my car brake down in CA and forced to pay $1200 for fuel pump repair in 1996. I also had mechanic in NJ asked me to buy "inspection program" and I refused it. As a result, I got my car back from oil change with anti freeze my brand new engine oil.
Narit Thank you very much for sharing this we appreciate all your great information it will help many others when dealing with their cars and trucks have a great day
A great video, but I think I will replace my Timing belt when the manufacture says. All other belts I will try this. All other belts its not a problem if it snaps, but the timing belt, that's new engine time, if the cars an older one its new car time.
you can treat them but most manufacturers require them (timing Belt) to be changed on certain time or mileage intervals so it's best to follow the manufacturer on that for timing belts

Why are there 1.2K thumbs down on this video? Almost 10% of the thumbs up. Is there a down side or knock on this technique? I haven't seen any mention in the comments of any down side.
Ted C thats still 90% of good positive people who like trick ways to do things. This process is amazing and works great, that 10 % are ones who have not tried this method and if they did they would change their belief.
Great idea! I have several questions I hope you can answer? 1) Will this stuff work on an Undercover Classic model tonneau cover? They are black textured abs/plastic type. 2) For belts, why not just use belt conditioner? 3) If we don't have the 303 product, you said use what we have, would Armor all or Black Magic interior protectant work? or would tire shine type products be better you think? 4) Since it's a similar subject do you have a recommendation to prevent dry rot on car/truck tires? Any help is appreciated, I'm in south Florida so we take a beating with the sun here and it has worn out many things before their time.
Matt 303 will work on all plastic even ABS, here are 2 videos that may help, ruclips.net/video/OD8WFiDGx4Q/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html but you will need to use 303 amzn.to/2jCHktN on the belt for these processes to work
You are obviously well versed in this 303 stuff so does it make a difference which one is used? I watched some of your videos and I see you have a gallon of it. I think you use the same gallon for everything which it even says on it Vinyl, Leather, Rubber, Plastic, Fiberglass. Also, is there ANY downsides to it? Like should you not get it on paint or does it have any harmful side effects on skin or anything at all?

If i do this to her car, she won't see how important i am in here life. Imagine, if she never needs a belt, oil change, car detailed, tune up, Tire Rotation, etc. Making her belt or any car part last forever would make me useless, I can't have none of that 😂
Thanks again for a another great tip 👍
EL you are the best lol I feel your pain as well... thanks for the laugh I need it today :)
So you cut her brake lines too?
EL EVO too funny...do her belts especially if you have kids. Do not want her and the kids breaking down some where.
Yeah bro good try brand new belt with white writing on the back of it and you have a brand new case to fit it in yes good try
el evo , i wonder if that applies to most everything
I love people like you, its like dad's or grandpa's old tricks that make life much easier...
CJ thank you very much we appreciate that :)
I use Armor All for all my rubber items on the car, keeps them soft and clean. Makes them last a long time
You are the man, great tips and ideas on how to do things right.

Thank you for watching and sharing your results, we really appreciate it, hope you have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike
I put this stuff on my face when I was 12. I'm 26 now and still look 12.
😆
I've used 'belt dressing' in the past with limited results. I've actually considered doing this very thing to all of my accessory belts but was always a little concerned that it might did more harm than good. Nice to know that it works as I would've expected, even better, actually.
I'm less concerned with the cost to replace the belts since it isn't usually THAT expensive or often they require replacement. However, anything that improves longevity/reliability is important to me.
Thanks for the tip!
User8571once you use the 303 0n all your vehicles rubber plastic vinyl and leather you will be hooked. thank you very much for sharing:)
How did this work out for you 8571?
Are they expensive now 😂 I just paid 120 for a serpentine on a mp8 mind me they’re on back order as well
I did this the first time 6 years ago, and now 10.000000 miles later, my Corvette is a worn out wreck. However, the belt is like new.
THANK YOU !
LOL, Glad we could help your belt my friend :) Thanks for watching and sharing, have a sweeeeeet week. mad Mike & team
To anyone who doubts this: What did we do years back to the leather we used on horse buggies, bridles and harnesses? Folks back then didn't want their leather rotting and falling apart so they treated the leather and it lasted them for years. This is the same thing. Great stuff!
thank you very much :) wait till you see our next video coming this weekend
I worked in the serviceshop where we service Ariens and Husqvarna snow blowers, i used something similar to 303, and this truly does work, some do last longer than others, i started coating the belts with rubber protective coatings, customers was pleased with not having to change belts literally every year.
HansensUniverse thank you very much and yes it is a product we love here :)
Sweet Project Cars , thanks, I’ll have to get some 303.
Thank you,
Dave thanks so much, and it does take time, average time into one 5 min video alone, shooting and editing is about 5 hours...but when you love what you do and hope others do as well and share our video channel it makes it all worth it.
got my parts in today and heading to see my son tomorrow looking forward to getting all belts and pulleys lubed and treated to start!!
Dave Etter that's great news my friend glad to hear that for sure :)
I found 303 a few years ago and I love it. I use it on all rubber, vinyl, plastic parts of my car, both interior and exterior.
You have that right, we have used it since it came out. We are actually developing one that’s going to be better.
@@SweetProjectCars Please keep us posted to the one you develop!!
Paul .C thats awesome my friend glad we could help :)
Good deal glad we could help you my friend have a great weekend
Thanks again
Yet another great idea I never would have thought of. It makes perfect sense. You (should) condition all the other plastic and rubber parts on your car. Why not the belts?
Reminds me of using glycerin on the rubber band on little balsa model planes when I was younger.
I learn more watching a six minute video of yours than I do in twenty minutes of most other videos on You Tube.
Thanks for the video.
bruce thank you so much for the great kudos and the comments
Sweet Project Cars Will this work on timing belts?
Joseph Bell actually you don't need to change it, it still work normally if you don't change it. My dad is a former mackanic
Can you spell technicians? Sorry dude, It just struck me as funny. You correcting him then misspelling what you believe your actual job title is.
Don't bash the guy about spelling if you cant spell technician properly.
I've used belt dressings before but never thought to actually condition a belt thinking it would make it slip, great idea and video! I happen to JUST buy a new best belt I could find for my Porsche and am going to give this a try.
brandon bentley you will love the results my friend :)
How did it work for you brandon?
Aerospace 303 is totally awesome! Been using it for years, but never thought to treat a serp. belt with it... GREAT idea! I have a new belt for the old C5 Vette... its gonna get treated before install.

Now it may last for ever.
One Slave mate you need to change your car then 😂 that or your parts place! That’s nuts!

Sounds legit. I’ve used 303 for years in place of tire shine. It lasts well and doesn’t attract dust.
you nailed it my friend thank you for your very useful comments for this channel glad to have you here.
Samuel thank you my friend and glad to have you with us for sure :) mike
You must keep that company in business lol such a versatile product! Luckily for me, the belt on my BMW is easy peasy to change. I can do it in under 2 minutes but I'm still tempted as you've proven it has many uses :)
why spend if you dont have to we always say :)
Sweet Project Cars its not just the money part...what about the work/ aggravation involved with changing the belt...and the chance of being stranded goes wayy up on a untreated belt... good job sir...
Sweet Project Cars
thank you :)
Steven Claggett lmfao! True that. BMW are money pits
*Sounds like you can do this with the Belt installed, if you just use a spray bottle and spray the inside and outside of the belt and let it sit then wipe it off.. You may have to hit the starter a few times to get the entire belt area.. Easy to Reapply that way also, without having to remove the belt..*

Are you go that should work well
I watched this video 6mo or so ago and used the technique on my F250 7.3 serpentine belt that was chirping a little. The belt is relatively new and a very good brand and quality but still chirping. This fixed it right up. Much better than belt dressing and is lasting longer.
oldvideodude good deal and if you give it a squirt every 3 months or so the chirping will eventually disappear :)
Sweet Project Cars, funny thing was it wasn't the ribbed side chirping, it was the flat side as it ran up against an idler pulley.
oldvideodude gotcha is it a pulley going bad?
Sweet Project Cars , no after your treatment the noise has stayed away. And, the pulleys were all new with the belt, not that that means anything.

It also protects them from UV and keeps them from getting dried out here in Cali
you nailed it Quinn now you are using the 303 for what it is made for ...great job my friend
Sweet Project Cars oh I've been using it for a while before I saw your videos, but I never would have thought of using it on my belts or wipers. I just thought those others might make for another good video to share with the public :)

Quinn Bogenreif is the protectant a silicon liquid? Thanks
No. It is a water based product 100% free of grease-producing silicone oils and petroleum distillates. (stole that from amazon).
I've been sharing yalls videos in a few lexus threads that I'm in 18 year old car with interior that looks 18 days old thanks to yalls methods and tips with 303!
shawn r thank you very much and thanks for stopping by to pick up some of our common sense DIYer tips.
This works, my mentor showed me this 20 some years ago (different product, almost identical ingredients). I've used the same rubber 100's of times w/o any problems as long as I rinsed thoroughly. The rest of the unopened, long expired box completely disintegrated years ago.
Works on silicone, too. My ex used to rub it on her breasts. She's 70 with no teeth but she's got the chachas of a cheerleader!
U never mention what you’re dipping the belt in

thats having peace of mind knowing your timing belt won't break for a while! great video thank you my friend.
Out of interest, would this process help with the longevity of a timing belt too?
yes sir this will work on any belt :) great question thank you but let me ADD you can treat them but most manufacturers require them to be changed on certain time or mileage intervals so it's best to follow that on timing belts only.
Many thanks for another great video guys
timing belt stretch and breakage tend to result in a simple engine replacement unless you have a non interference engine, if you have a non interference subaru ect it could be a fun experiment as long as you carry spare belt and tools and are single. if you are not single this will likely lead to becoming single.

Amazing that belt doesn't slip and squeal with that Armor All like coating on it.
it does not you see how dry the belt was in the video ...once you treat it, it conditions the rubber then the excess vapes. thank you very much glad to have you here :)
@@SweetProjectCars cant you just squirt some on the belt without removal...??
@@CRM537 I hope he replies because I was wondering the same thing.

Enjoy!

Any reason why spraying this on tires wouldn't keep the tires from dry rotting too?
this product is for use on all rubber and leather and vinyl and plastic...it will keep most anything i mentioned from dry rotting...thanks for the great question :)
Sweet Project Cars so when use it for tires do u spray it on and let it set or wipe off
Sweet oject Cars
I flat out did not know this was an option.
Belts, bushings, tires, buff it into weather stripping, buff it into a dash after restoring from any cracks (I'm guessing 'aerospace protectant' covers solar exposure), just 'wow'.
Spend the money right the first time folks.
FixItYourselfAndSave
It definitely will not hurt, but this specific product is not intended for exteriors because of the lack of durability. One rain or wash and it is completely washed off.
I keep a separate jug for the used stuff. I put a coffee filter in a large funnel and filter it out.
So I've looked into the science of this and I'm telling yall this man is a Genius 👍👍

I know it protects the belt from cracking, but what's to stop it from stretching over time.. I'm not convinced
it stretches because it dries out...we are not here to convince we are here to share our 20 years of expertise for free.
that's what belt tensioners are for, dumbass
oh I fully know that, but it is also the rubber that protects those cords and fabric from the elements :) Much like the orange peel protects the fruit inside...so if we care for the rubber on the outside we help the belt to "live another day" longer...
Belts don't stretch. They wear. V belts seen to get longer because they fit lower in the groove as they wear.
I discovered 303 because of you. Nothing else comes close to it. Thanks.
mike shramowiat we are with you on that my friend :)

T yes it can be treated on the car see this video we did ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html thank you for the great question :)
Have never had that issue all you do is mist the 3O3 on no different then spraying a belt dressing on
I am going to be changing all my belts on a Tacoma pretty soon. I am going to try this as I have some 303. I use the 303 for my vinyl boat seats and it is a great product!
echo8287 you will love the results my friend that's for sure :)
I'm a fan of 303 Protectant, but honestly, other than a couple instances where an A/C compressor or an alternator locked up, I've never had a serpentine belt last less than 100,000 miles.
They're usually still in good shape even then, but belts are cheaper than my time.
If I'm going to the trouble of removing the belt, I'm going to replace it with a new one.
good point
But you can treat the new belt before installing it and have it last your for 300,000 miles 😀
You have nice vids, but info on what you are using is either so quickly shown, or not shown at all….like you assume we know what you are using…I like new info on things, but hate trying to figure out what you are using to produce the results
It's this amzn.to/2WQg0sB and just a reminder, all of the products/tools we use in our videos can always be found in the ...MORE of the videos description, see here 3c5.com/4u6dj if you can't find it let us know and we will help you. Thanks for watching. mad Mike
You *seriously* need your on TV show, don't know if the masses would like all your Awesome $$ saving tips being broad cast but I think you could make it into the best auto/car show out...
David good to see you again my friend and thanks so much for the kudos and support :)
This stuff works ON tire treads too!! Do it once a year. Just wipe it on..
Carrol Anne Thompson yes and here is the video for it ruclips.net/video/OD8WFiDGx4Q/видео.html
That belt still needs replaced. The pulley grooves wear into the belt and as a technician myself, I can tell you that belt needs replaced.
Sorry you are wrong O it went back on after video and we will put another 300k on it...
i am curious so the belt now has 600k miles on it? something isnt adding up. video was posted a couple days ago. and already you have driven 300k miles o-0
he said "we WILL put another 300k on it"
Actually the belt may not "crack" but over time the belt will loose it's dimensions and stretch out making it less tension for a vehicle that has an auto tensioner...
Thomas thank you very much for sharing, we truly appreciate that and are very glad you are here with us :)
can I spray on a serpentine belt already in place while engine off, and periodically spray so to get different sections of the belt and let dry? or just spray and start engine so conditioner will spread to other parts of the belt?
yes see this video ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html
I
How would that work on wipers, any good?
YOU KNOW IT BROTHER ...any rubber !!! great question John !!!
john foy good question
john foy you'll need a big coffee can :P
J Willy haha.yea i guess i will
use a plastic bag
Good that you said, "any" protectant cause I used Mother's... I just sprayed it on and wiped off, but still damp after being completely soaked so allowing it to hang dry for a good while before I put it on...
don if you don't have the 303 then use what you have my friend something is better than nothing in this case
Ive been detailing for 18 years and have seen a lot of products come and go and Meguiars Mioor Glaze products are always consistent.(The beige bottles)
just saw this after i replaced a belt. I wonder if i can just spray some of that on the belt when engine is running?
Concow see this video then ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html hope this helps :)
This is amazing. I will be doing this on all my cars and truck. If it works, this will save me hundreds.
Benjamin Anderson and it works on all rubber, plastic, vinyl and leather :)
Find a way to make a tank of gas last 5,000 miles using an additive that’d be swell..........
That would be swell wouldn’t it
How about if i sprayed it on my belt while it was on the car. Would that work?
Spacegoat92 do you mean this ruclips.net/video/_8RE8p_m8bA/видео.html
I used 'son of gun' on mine and it still has writing on it after 5k miles. Good idea man!!
Our pleasure to help! Thank you so much for being here with us, we truly appreciate it! Have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars thanks for the respond! Its nice to see people keep up with their videos.(I know it can be hard with 1000s of idiots hitting you up daily)
I just spray some on the belts, seem to help alot
Interesting. I'm going to give it a go. This has to be one of my least favorite things to replace.
CreamOf Weber Im with you, thats why we came up with this because they are a pain to change...:)
Just curious, won't this make the belt slip, making more problems? ???
no slipping this is water based thank you very much for your great comment, it's great for the whole chain to have good people like you here :)
Belt will stretch in the fullest of time. You will have to adjust belt tension once so often. Best resolve is to buy a kevlar racing belt. Gates make them.
they stretch very little as you can see from my belt it still works great with 330k mile thanks
sure Gates makes the best belts IMHO..most will stretch especially a ChinaZone belt.
that's what the tensioner does....keeps the belt adjusted all by its lonesome
Always enjoy your creativity, ingenuity, and being thrifty, Mike. I love your channel.
Thank you so much Steve! It's our pleasure my friend, we truly appreciate your view and comment. Hope you have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
And your timing belt ? BTW I dont know any mecanic who like's it when people bring theyr own stuf
yes you can do timing belts but on the interference systems, you will still need to change them per the manufactures timelines as far as mechanics not letting you bring your own stuff in then you need to find another mechanic that values your business, that's what we did.
Sweet Project Cars - Most of the time it's because customers bring in the wrong parts for their vehicle and the mechanic gets the vehicle stuck on their lift wasting 1-2 hours if not more getting the correct part in.
There's a reason behind it.
I guess in the 30 years we have worked on cars we have never had that issue thas for the great comments
I know two of them. They would rather not have to get on the phone and order, then wait for delivery. Good luck.
My mechanic loves me bringing my own parts to him
Belts last for 100's of thousands of miles regardless
M. Cutler I fully beg to differ, we have proved this wrong many many times. thanks for sharing
Great idea! If you have a hot tub outside, try using that product in your cover and you will be good for years
Orlando you are exactly correct and use it on the vinyl siding of your home and that will last for years and will not fade it is an amazing product there’s no doubt about it thank you for sharing my friend
All other belts its not a problem if it snaps, but the timing belt, that's new engine time, if the cars an older one its new car time.
thanks dave ....great comments :)
davebuts agreed but this could help with premature breakdown
Dave that's a timing belt... this is serpentine... you'd be crazy to not change a timing belt on an interference engine.
you can treat them but most manufacturers require them (timing Belt) to be changed on certain time or mileage intervals so it's best to follow the manufacturer on that for timing belts
Timing belts have teeth, you HAVE to change them. The teeth will break off eventually.
Great info can't wait to put it into effect, would this process work on radiator hoses?
Absolutely, use this amzn.to/2WQg0sB on every piece of vinyl, leather, and plastic on/in your vehicle. Thanks for watching and asking Boss Hogg, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Does the coating cause slippage over time....?
DOES NOT SLIP never has in all the years and hundreds of belts we have performed this on thanks
It's not a coating. 303 is a penetrant/ rubber preserver.
Those who thumbs down are the belt manufacturers.
Like should you not get it on paint or does it have any harmful side effects on skin or anything at all?
matt it is safe for paint and we have never had an issue with side effects on our skin or any part of the body...of course, you don't want to drink it
can this method be used on timing belts
philip greenwood see this my friend ruclips.net/video/yY6dduFcRvI/видео.html
