I’m disabled can’t do much anymore and used to catfish all the time. I love your channel gets me excited to watch you and especially your son tear ‘‘em up. Love that catfish n. Keep up the great fun.
Excellent trip Hagen!! It's so enjoyable to watch you and your son. I especially like the fact you weigh them. It gives a much better perspective of the fish. It is so hard to judge them from cameras, monitor screens and bifocals. You have room in your boat as well to show them realistically, not those goofy shots with the fish close to the camera and arms extended to make them look bigger than they are. Thank you, I really enjoy your videos!
I got those Illinois winter blues from sitting in the house for the last 3 months and the only thing I can look forward to is you your son and your daddy fishing so with that being said y'all been slacking man y'all down there fishing in 20 30 40 50 60 ft of water and the deepest water we got on this lake is maybe 25 ft at full pool I'm fiending for some big blues wish you your son and your father best of luck can't wait to see your next videos
Hey Hagen, That's usually what happens to my cast nets. Even on the boat ramps because people throw boulders all over the ramps. I fish in places are about like the place you were at. About a 300 acre city lake and a 4500 acre state lake. Unless raining, there's no current here either. You have much better luck than I do. Those were a nice couple of cats. Great video. Looking forward to your next one. Good luck and thanks...
Wow that was awesome! 👍👍 What a blessing it for me watching you and Landon fish together. God has truly blessed you with a great fishing buddy. Blessings to you and yours!
I've learned (the hard way) to always take another net. When I get into the spare I immediately order a new one. I enjoy watching you guys catching some dandy fish
That is my local lake, too. If you had went to the right, there are some flats that hold lots of shad, with not too much to get hung on. I'd like to meet you sometime, maybe do some fishing. Great videos. Keep up the great work.
Heck yeah, thanks for another awesome video. Me, wife n Kids headin to go bumpin on the Tennessee outside of k-town tomorrow. Bait is stupid thick, you snag as many skips as you hook...
Hello Hagan and Landon. I idled passed you the other day in a blue Lowe aluminum boat. Shouted at ya and asked if you were RUclipsing. That lake in shallow water has a lot of trees and lay downs as you already know. I hate that you lost your netting. I have caught jacks on that body of water casting for crappie before. On my live scope I have seen blues 4 foot long in creeks with lay downs feeding under them on that body of water.. You keep after them and you will get one of those eventually. Big ole souw bellies on them. Hope to see ya out there again. Good luck and God bless!
Yes, skipjacks are in that lake. When I'm crappie fishing early mornings in the creeks and near sun down. I here the light popping on top water all the time when they feed. You can catch some down at the tail water also.
Awesome video dude. That looked like a lotta fun. I feel ya on the driving far to the lake. i just traded in my truck for a new one but its a jump from Diesel to Gas
Nothing sucks more than losing a nice net... I feel your pain. I don't know if you carry a boat hook/pusher in your boat (or how deep it was hung up) but you can extend those out and try to hook the lead line and might help you break loose. But sometimes it's just so hung its a lost cause... Great fish tho!! Glad to see ya on em
I thought losing a net was the worst feeling in the world. You have now shown me something worse - losing a net and hearing "I told you so" in the background lol.
you 2 catch some of the rudest catfish around....all that burpin and belchin goin on !! no wonder it got you wet Hagen feedin it that freezer food😆 very nice fish and thank you both for showing us how it is gitten it done👍👍
I just watched a video that was done at T'ville by Ky fish and wildlife, they pulled up some really nice blues during their study. It was an older video.
I remember seeing that as well. Definitely some giants in there. The blues have been in there long enough now that a triple digit fish could be possible. Thank you for watching👍
@@hagengrubbsfishingGrown up between southern middle tn and northwest Florida my whole life, can confirm our lakes are huge, however Kentucky does have Lake Cumberland… and you don’t have to fight the gators
Hagen, I feel your pain on the cast net I loose a couple 3 in the Ohio river every year .quick question I fish a lake just east of Cincinnati similar to the lake in your video, what are you looking for in finding blue catfish on that type of lake. Thanks
When fishing these lakes with no current For me it’s all about covering as much water as possible. I normally just drag in the depth of water where I see the most life. When the water is still cold and you have a warm day shallow flats can be great. In the summer when there is a thermocline I find out what depth it is at and suspend baits right above it using planer boards, a lot like striper fishing. Hope this answered your question. Thank you for watching.
The gizzard shad like we have around here are plankton feeders and won’t take a lure, however I do use sabiki rigs for skipjack herring sometimes. Thanks for watching and good luck👍

@@hagengrubbsfishing I'm in Shepherdsville been there many times but haven't caught any like that. I think I'll try dragging like you did. Thanks for the great video.
I normally leave the guts in when I have fresh bait but I usually cut it out on frozen bait. I just feel the guts aren’t much good after being frozen. Just a preference thing I guess. And you are right, Fresh shad or skipjack guts are a great bait. Thank you for watching 👍
Why does everyone drift fish from the back. And have like 8 poles close together, i have a pontoon and drift from the side, and let wind push us, but do you let the wind and current drift backwards, seem like hard to control
