Love the way you're not scared to show everybody all your technique And I know how hard it is to net a big one by yourself And you make it look easy One of the best fishermen I've seen Thanks for all the tips
Great tips dave...Richard gene (the fishing machine) fishes that lake and he's caught some big flatheads and blues from those waters . Maybe you two could meet up sometime..thanks for your posts dave and I like your sweatshirt...
That would be cool! RGTFM is my favorite on RUclips just for the simple fact that he fishes for everything just like I do… But catfish Dave is probably my favorite when it comes to catfish… I started watching back early on when he was just getting started. That would be one hell of a collaboration… lol
Thanks Dave! Your Show is the Best year round catfishing entertainment. Those Potomac young bucks don't have a clue how to grow a channel without screaming like idiots on a live stream. You have proven your master level for years over most of the chasers. HLC is another great non shilling channel that you obviously like. I hope you and HLC can do a collaboration and show the wannabe catfishing channels how it is done. You rock!
Watched this again. Thanks for taking us along for a great evening of fishing on Guntersville. I have to say I have never caught a fish big enough to pull my pants down. Hope your are getting some well deserved income from the channel. A lot of us are watching and wishing we could be there. You make us feel like we are there with you.
True story. My teacher asked me the other day who inspires me to be like them when I grow up. I said Catfish Dave, she said who? Almost forgot nice flathead!!!
I’ve live here close to Guntersville all life and never fish for big catfish until the other day. I went out with Blacksheep Catfishing Guide Service, J.R.Hall to do a RUclips video for my channel Rocky Drake Outdoors. We caught 2 over 60lbs, and 1 over 50 !!! Incredible day on the water ! I can highly recommend Blacksheep Catfishing Guide Service J.R. Hall 💯 I really enjoy your videos Dave !!
Nice to see enjoying your new career!!! Keep them coming out. Enjoying the nice fish. I had a brother who worked for a paper mill and fished all year around every month when he got his five days off. Just wanted to catch the big opps..
I learnt everything I use now from Catfish Dave. After meeting him I caught the biggest fish consistently I had ever caught in my life. Keep it up Dave 🐐
You forgot one thing, A BIG NET!. You and the kayak guy are the reason I even started fishing for catfish about 3 years ago. I have a place on a lake in GA and almost every time I'm there I 1st work on catching a bream then as soon as I have one it goes on a 5/0 circle hook 1/2oz weight and then out it goes. Our place is about middle of the cove and would say catching most of these fish in 8-10' of water. I say you need a big net because I lost one of the biggest yet because he would not fit in the damn net I had and after about 4 attempts he finally broke off. I fixed that problem though, and just 2 weeks ago landed a 38" blue that was FAT!!!!!! My biggest to date is 42" blue that I got when the lake was down and I was able to climb down in the mud and drag it in, never forget that. BIG THANKS for all the info and entertainment you provide!!!!
I found your YT channel on the recommendation of Hook, Line & Chill. Two totally different types of catfishing but both enjoyable. Michael needs to wear a Catfish Dave shirt.
Tell you what Dave, sometime you gotta come up to Michigan. Fish the Saginaw River that goes into Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron. Freshwater ocean, there is NOBODY who fishes catfish here. Literally. We catch monsters as bycatches jigging walleye. I honestly feel you would be impressed. No joke. Regardless, great video brother! Thank you
I tell my grandsons that fish bite twice a day: Just before you get there, and after you leave. Also, the lake I fish most, Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City, I have seen evidence that what you say is definitely true. No matter what size or species fish these people catch, they keep, or at least take away from the lake. Oklahoma has a possession limit on most species. I have seen people catch the limit, carry them away, then return to catch more.
@@dorisburnette6630 he does now and then. Yet when you weigh that’s when all the know it all haters come out. It’s best to just catch, take a picture, and release back into the wild.
From one east Tn to another I’ve enjoyed watching you getting the Kat-joy back fishing off the reservation. Get out there Dave & enjoy. I’m retiring from the plant this year so I’ll be right behind you soon
One thing I've learned over the years from my southern folk is when that "ye heh heh heh, Lord have mercy!" comes out, you know it's a big ol' boy. Love your video's Dave. Thank you for the entertainment.
Wow!! What a helluva nice flathead!! Have learned alot about technique from you CD , have increased my catches alot over the last yr.. I also learn alot from RGTFM.. IT WOULD BE FREAKIN EPIC TO SEE YALL ON THE SAME BOAT! keep pulln in them hawgs Dave, best catfishing channel on utube! From central NC! 👍
Great catches Brother! Yes totally agree, experience and like you said before, there’s no good and bad fishermen, We are good as the waters We are fishing in!
I got super lucky on my very first cat fishing trip back in 2020. It was early spring perfect temperature day. I didn't know much about cat fishing. I didn't have the rods reels weights or hooks. However I went anyways. I took my 12 ft jon boat and parked it in the bend of the creek right behind my house. With in 30 minutes I caught 6 blues and the last blue was 70lbs by the scales. A truly awesome day.
That was awesome to shout out the guide service. I fished in the yucatan peninsula for 3 years at a fishing resort to catch fish as the chef to feed the guests dinner after they fish all day for bone fish, permit, tarpon, barracuda, ect. But? The little Mayan guide? Lol . The fish whisperer.
Dave I always wait a few hours to watch your videos. Love reading the comments !!! Yes get your overall's back on. After you retire that quick food puts a belly on you. I suffer from Noassatol also. keep em coming.
Too bad Richard Gene the Fishing Machine isn't a guide on Guntersville. 😉 Dave, I never miss a video. Thank you so much for taking me fishing in Tennessee once again. Good luck, all.
Hey Dave. Great advice. Now I'm going to sit back and watch you catch a big ole FlatHead. Well you sure did a nice job of catching big fish on an out of state lake. Thanks for taking us along Dave. It was sure fun. I'm lovin the road trips. Get on up there on the OHIO and see what you can pullin.
Awesome video! I'm in southwest Ohio, and it would be REALLY rare to catch a flathead this size outside of the Ohio River, or one of the lakes in the southeastern part of our state. Wow! Congrats. Wooohooo!!
Great Miami River, y’all talking about? I’ve caught some pretty nice flathead’s out of there back in the 90’s, early 2000’s. Caught a 60+ in Middletown, just down from 9th street spillway. Took pictures and turned it back loose in there.
Thank you sir. I enjoy watching you videos. Ive fish for 50 years and yet caught anything over 15 pounds and that was common carp. I love fishing and fish for everything and anything. My biggest catfish was around 9 pounds but that was like 37 years ago. I caught a 6 pounder this year. I use all different kinds of baits this year. Up til this year I mostly fish with night crawlers and stink bait. Unless I'm fishing for carp I make my own. I just start experimenting with different techniques different baits and set ups. I'm very limited on tackle and gear. Even started using Spinners and jigs. I live Illinois along the Mississippi River. I stay in the Quad City area. If you ever up this way I hope to meet you in person someday. Also I do nothing but bank fishing. Wish I owned a boat. But thank you again for your videos and tips. Fish on keep your lines tight and hooks sharp.
You have to be fishing where the big cats are located. Big cats take a lot of food, so a large food source is essential. Locate the bait and you'll locate the big cats. A good LED light in the water will bring in the bait fish if the water is clear enough.
I only fish for flatties in the fall. Having said that, my biggest was in April fishing for walleye on a lake that is part of a river system. He was 55# according to the weight calculator. I love flatheads. When I retire, I will spend much more time chasing them.
I lucked up and found your channel!! I never knew about the different lines for the tail under the sinker! Thank you and I'm looking forward to seeing more!!
Thanks for the tips. Love watching your videos. Up here in PA we catch 20-40 pound flatheads off live blue gill. Never tried cut bait since I always have good luck with bluegill
Just moved back to Northern Alabama been fishing catfish out by the Hoover dam in Nevada didn’t see many huge fish out there but man the cats out here are amazing
Caught a 63 lb blue cat in 2023. Before i caught him i lost a flathead on the bank solo fishing the missouri river. had eyes on him and almist netted him he took off for ten seconds or so and snapped my line. Happened so fast I didnt think to play with drag.
Hey I’m not even a cat fisherman. I catch ocean fish on conventional reels. A tip I might offer as you net fish turn clicker on put reel in freespool then you can set rod down and any way you move net it just takes line. Keepers you from struggling over rod or worse break arid tip or smash guides.
Love the way you're not scared to show everybody all your technique And I know how hard it is to net a big one by yourself And you make it look easy One of the best fishermen I've seen Thanks for all the tips

Still waiting 😕
I do fish

Dave wish you wished you would weigh
Your fish

Great fish dave! Absolutely true about spring and fall, fish are at their heaviest👍
