Watching you and Landon is great. My son is now 27 and we are still doing adventures together in the wild. He became a fisheries and wildlife biologist so he has it bad. Great stuff, keep it up. BTW, he will be taking the rod away from you pretty soon, all good.

Ale 8 is life! I knew you were from KY when I saw you pull that can out.
On that double hook rig for the big bait, I like the way you exposed that single hook. I use a treble hook and and sink on hook into the back side of the bait and which leaves the other two hooks exposed.

great video as always hagen. day catfishin hasn't been to good but late night is doing good my buddy tournament fishes and the pics i see on facebook show some between 30-60 lbs. the pleasure boats and jetskis are running nuts but i love watching you n landon! we don't have skipjack here but we got some big gizzard shad they are tough to get but i'm learning to throw my new net.

I recently found your channel. I love that you include your son as part of your fishing.. May I ask what Bimini top you have on your boat? I have a center console myself and the Bimini top I purchased is clearly not tall enough for when I stand up at the helm and drive the boat.
It came with my boat when I bought it. I’m not sure on the brand but I’m pretty sure it’s just a cheap 4bow from Amazon. Thank you for watching 👍

I put my net on top of my Bimini when I’m anchored up fishing
You’re right, it’s weird that they’re hitting in the middle of the day. The fish get kick jaw round here after about noon.

Trolling motor in this situation, but I do use drift socks while anchoring on a windy day or drifting with little to no current, just to keep the boat straight . Thanks so much for watching
I have always wondered if you ever have run-ins with noodlers and do you folks coexist pretty well or not?
They make a rocket launcher that bolts to the back of your Bemini top . You can find them for round $70 on eBay . Helps keep the net and any rods your not using up and out of the way .

Hagen do you run the santee cooper rig any im still new to it iv ran it last 3 times i went out i caught my first fish of the day one i fish the Ohio river on Illinois side just wondering with the current in that river if i can run it from the bank
I really wish everyone would practice cpr with flatheads because they are one fish that is not restocked and when they are gone they are gone

I think you are fishing the Ohio river. Can you recommend a good spot. I just about hot my pontoon ready for fishing. Tried my bass boat just did not work for me.

Talking about that current carrying your bait scents always makes me wonder why guys bank fishing want the wind in their face.. i like the wind at my back when I'm on the bank.. Try it guys let that wind blow your scents out if your on the bank..
Helps with casting farther as well if you need to get way out there

I bounce around a lot just because it’s all about the same distance. I fish cannelton, Mcalpine and markland pools. I also fish the Kentucky river a lot but it is tough this time of year. Thank you for watching👍

Do you drift with the current pushing you or facing into the current?
I like to face into the current and use the trolling motor to slow down to .5 or so depending on current speed. Thank you for watching 👍

@@hagengrubbsfishing guessing drifting is out just anchoring up and fishing holes iam new to the river but i have enjoyed the few times i been and trying to understand it better any help is appreciated, i caught a 30lb flatty last week , i luve about a 1hr from river so i want to try and make the most of my trips today is wed and iam thinking about goin in the morin what would you advice be....and i like you videos alot
