Early morning fishing trip on the Ohio River Targeting deep water catfish in river bends. Bait used was cut shad and cut skipjack herring. Thanks for watching. #catfish #ohioriver #kentucky
That would aggravate me to be out there fishing in that much water and have someone come drop lines right next to me. Nice fish though! Unless it was a friend coming out to meet you that is!
Have the boonesbourgh pool here about 15 minutes from the house. It's a 10 mile stretch from damn to damn. Never heard of big cats being caught. You ever caught a musky
I have never caught a musky. I live a couple miles from the Kentucky river around pool 6. There are big blues and flatheads in there but it is generally a very tough place to fish. I’ve never been able to catch them constantly.
Just want to say how much I enjoy your videos. When my son was born 2 years ago I decided to sell my motorcycle, buy a jon boat and try to learn how to fish. That way my boy and I can have something fun to do together when he's just a little older. Seeing how much fun you and your son are having inspired me to start going after catfish. Finally starting to get things figured out and catch some blues and channels here in Georgia. Hats off to you sir.
I use a garmin 93sv+. I like it ok but I don’t feel that side/down imaging is up to par with lowrance and hummingbird. If I could have any unit it would probably be a big 12” hummingbird.from what I’ve seen they have amazing side imaging.
Glad to see out on the water Hagen, been missing you and Landon he gave you a look when you said you forgot the top and he was getting rained on Lol glad ur back be safe and God Bless
Always enjoy going with you two. Was worried something was wrong since you had not posted new video. When dropping straight down what depth do you target? Thanks and God bless.
I usually keep my bait within 5 foot of the bottom. However I’ve been playing around with the 2 rods on the front of my boat and I’ve been keeping them up shallow in the water column and I’ve been picking up a few. The biggest fish in this video was caught at around 50ft in 70 foot of water. Thanks for watching👍
Yes. The lake I fish most of the time gets a thermocline. I basically fish it like I’m striper fishing. I use boards and suspend baits right on top of thermocline, which is usually around 10’. I drag shallow flats some as well but I seem to do better suspend fishing in deep water. I still use some cut bait but I like to use some live shad as well. Thanks for watching👍
Another successful trip back on the trailer safe. I don't think Landon was looking forward to fishing in the rain. I have had boat troubles this year also, sucks but it just the pleasure of owning a boat. Great flick keep them coming
Man I did notice that.. big ones tend to stay up around the hydros. Its been tuff out here no luck walking baits at the dams or hydros but that's how fishing goes I guess. I'm gonna try Kentucky river this coming week I'll message you if the skips are running
Navionics has maps on some sections of the Ohio river but it is not accurate at all from what I’ve seen. A friend of mine has a lakemaster card in his hummingbird and it seems to be pretty accurate.
Great video bro. Glad to see you back out on the water. I am so pumped to be moving to this area. I will be getting to Fort Knox on the evening of 22 SEPT. Hopefully i can get out on the water quickly. Hope I can learn something from you. I got my Tracker Bass boat all ready to go!!!
Are you sure you haven’t spent some time in San Francisco with some of those PITA people I wouldn’t think any self respecting southerner would throw a fine eating blue back in There are places in my town the sell fried catfish exclusively Actually I think those are too big for perfect eating
Hagen love your show, you guys do good getn out fine videos, ida tucked tail an ran with it rainen, love that you're lil boy gets ta go all the time love watching him you guys are true grit thanx for sharing great show with us, god bless
Your Boat sounds good. MICE got into mine once and chewed up the wires. My wife made me several little pull-string bags and I put moth balls in them and threw up in all the boxes. Electral problems aren't fun. Do you watch "Tiny Boat Nation?" He does a lot of builds and puts in different panels and switches. I still can't believe people go fishing and throw the fish back in.
Good on you for spending time with your son
Always enjoy watching your videos, hope you all stay healthy and safe.
About me a boat last fall I spent all winter learn how to throw a net I've mastered the net I can't wait for spring
I too struggle with whether to keep the bimini top on the boat or not, darn thing seems to always be in the way....Until you need it !
Good video brother! Subbed
Come on warm weather
First time visitor. What river & state ?
Thank you for stopping by. Kentucky, Ohio River 👍
Landen is my name RUclips is my game
No thermocline there right?
Great video. Really enjoyed you including footage of catching bait and cast netting.
How far do you usually have to drive to fish?
Anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours lol, but on this day we were about 1.5 hours from home. thank you for watching👍
Any apaloosa in there ?
Would dragging work on any river system?
I like your videos man keep them coming!let me know if you need another partner lol 🤙🏻
Thanks for posting the video. Keep that kid on the water. As another good fisherman says. Its good fer ya.
Have u ever tried big carp heads
Thank you
That look Landon give you when you was talking about not putting the Bimini top on was priceless!!!!
I noticed that too😉
No lifejackedglad you make son wear one have a good day

I’m still sick about that one lol
Good video!
That would aggravate me to be out there fishing in that much water and have someone come drop lines right next to me. Nice fish though! Unless it was a friend coming out to meet you that is!
Do you believe bigger the bait bigger the fish
I use bigger baits for more scent and to avoid small fish but most of the bigger fish I’ve caught where on average size baits. Thanks for watching
Watching your deep water drift,. Do you live in ky or ohio
Kentucky

good video Hagen
What model Garmin is that?
Landen is a beast
I found that off setting the hooks more helps with losing less fish
Good to see you guys back on the water.. Excellent video!!
Just want to say how much I enjoy your videos.

What kind of fish finder do you use and prefer?

@@hagengrubbsfishing Thank you I've been researching some and that is a big help. Keep the videos coming I've learned a lot from your post.

Enjoyed the video Hagen👍
I need to go fishing more often, driving a truck is just not helpful for that.
Great video
Good job men,ole Landons is growing up,I can tell hes gettin bigger! Awesome job fellows!

Good to see u out again. Landon’s smirk tho...😂
Another successful trip back on the trailer safe. I don't think Landon was looking forward to fishing in the rain. I have had boat troubles this year also, sucks but it just the pleasure of owning a boat. Great flick keep them coming
Love how excited your son is to be fishing with you.
Great video. Nothing like a little fishing in the rain.
Pretty hard bite for me this weekend but watching you're vids always motivates me to keep at it. Mite try Kentucky rive lock 1. This week
Ol buddy had to make us look bad the other night with that 55lb blue didn’t he? lol. I was happy for him. It was Nice seeing that hog.
Man I did notice that.. big ones tend to stay up around the hydros. Its been tuff out here no luck walking baits at the dams or hydros but that's how fishing goes I guess. I'm gonna try Kentucky river this coming week I'll message you if the skips are running

Glad too know Your back👍
I been catching some down river a little ways from there. Keep them drags warm.
I used to sleep on my dad's boat, some of the best sleep I ever had.
Enjoy watching the videos, keep it up, God Bless
Man I need to get me a nice boat... unfortunately, I have a Harley problem. Addiction really, an it kills the boat finances!
Glad to see you back out on the water.
Glad you made it back out , and got your boat issues fixed , great video
Great videos
Thank you
Where y'all at?? What part of the river did you guys launch at?
What app do you have to show u contours in a river
Navionics has maps on some sections of the Ohio river but it is not accurate at all from what I’ve seen. A friend of mine has a lakemaster card in his hummingbird and it seems to be pretty accurate.
Thanks great videos
What Landon calls a dink is what I fish for. I don't eat the bigger fish.
Awesome vid, I got a couple questions tho, are you dragging your baits on bottom or suspended? Also what river is this?
Great video bro. Glad to see you back out on the water. I am so pumped to be moving to this area. I will be getting to Fort Knox on the evening of 22 SEPT. Hopefully i can get out on the water quickly. Hope I can learn something from you. I got my Tracker Bass boat all ready to go!!!
That black reel an ancient mariner?
It is a Ming yang cl60. I bought 2 several months ago. So far they have been great. A lot of drag and holds a ton of line. Worth the money imo.
ming yang is an acceptional reel for the money!!
Love Landons excitement on the take downs!
Are you sure you haven’t spent some time in San Francisco with some of those PITA people
I wouldn’t think any self respecting southerner would throw a fine eating blue back in
There are places in my town the sell fried catfish exclusively
Actually I think those are too big for perfect eating

I want to fish with you and Landon plz!!!!!!!!
Good to see you back at it! I always leave the bimini on, and always have my rain gear on the boat, because I love to fish in the rain.
I just love that your boy goes with you good parenting teaching him the outdoors

Yes I watch tiny boat nation on RUclips. He does great work.
