I love how hands on Jeremy is with the local fishermen in each place he goes. He's always so respectful and friendly with them, always so open to use their fishing methods that may be more primitive than his expensive gear. A true fishermen at heart ❤️
It actually has nothing to do with being a fisherman- the vast majority of anglers never leave their own country and interacting with other ppl simply is not a part of their fishing experience. You learn to be nice to the other boaters at the ramp and on the water, so they'll be nice to you, and everyone can get along- but that's about it as far as people skills. Being a "fishermen at heart" has to do with fishing, nothing else- and yes, Jeremey is indeed a fisherman at heart, but not because he interacts with locals. It's because no matter how tough it gets, whether he catches anything or not- he never burns out, he never loses interest. A real angler will fish all day long and not get a single bite- and he'll get up tomorrow and not just do it again- he'll wake at daybreak, excited, and still optimistic. Because we know, even if we catch nothing- we're going to be on the water- and that's what we truly love. Just being out there, surrounded by it all- it feels like home.
Sir... Up until I saw this episode I would not have argued your point of view... But did you see the guy who dove into the river to untangle his net!!! Jeremy was actually shocked to see this!!! He said, "People say I'm extreme!!!"
I know he needed retirement but the man is so interesting and watchable I hope he comes back for another season of some sort of aquatic endeavor or w/e it might be. Time well spent always. God Bless you Mr. Wade.
@@alexislobo2010 i think he got malaria at least twice if not more. He wouldnt have put himself in that risk if he didnt love the adventure tho, so i can see him go out if hes still healthy
@@caseymckenzie8065 yeah i usually think everything scripted but was thinking this genuine, its realistic to think a native fisherman fishing with bamboo all his life could be impressed with top notch fishing tackle
What a brave man to not only face dangerous fish, but catch them in hostile terrain as well. The Devil's Cauldron is my favorite as it shows that Africa is still a wild place no matter where you go. Hats off to you Jeremy Wade!
I've always been a fan of Jeremy. He's respectful and a true celebrity. I know that fishermen all over the world know who he is. He must speak at least 7or 8 different languages. He deserves a knighthood for his work. He's a proper legend. Always playing evey hardship down. In Brazil I was lucky enough to survive an airplane crash and walked into the next village......... Like that happens to everyone. A real national treasure. Thank you for everything Jeremy.
He spent a very long time in most locations too. I heard him say he'd spent over a year straight in the Amazon watershed on one of the episodes. Definitely a one of a kind guy.
The guy that jumps into the river to save the net… words can’t even describe how nuts that guy is 😳even on the edge of the river. That undertow is no joke. Must be a dead zone there and he knows it maybe? Couldn’t believe it that he didn’t get pulled under and away
Just like Canadian rivers, I live on the Moose River on the James Bay Coast in Ontario Canada. From Moose Factory, ON Canada, an Island on the mouth of the Mighty Moose River.
Really wish you would come back to our screens Jeremy I know your not getting any younger but how about a less physical form of fishing like coarse fishing ,carp, trout fishing etc
Hey Jeremy, have you thought about using drones? You could get the bait soe much further out quicker than a knack could.. and in some of these nuclear sites, could definitely fish with them in areas radiation would harm ya. Just use a drone and stay safer. You could drop the bait in those areas for mutants that you wouldn't otherwise be permitted to go due to dangerous levels of radiation.. so why do the desperate crazy moves?
B4 we house to see very adventure biggest and also sometimes very rear FISH 🎣 WHICH many people like me never saw its man really exited to watch but now he isn’t fisherman more survival channel
Holllyyyy crap. The Congo river is the definition of turbulent holy smokes. Nasty nasty water 😳I think that’s such rough water that even the crazy white water jet boaters from Canada wouldn’t even attempt that one. Actually no they still probly would. Just take the edges of the river.
It is RIDICULOUS how much they try to hype up the danger and drama in EVERY situation on this show. Like bro, you're fishing, not fighting like a gladiator in the colosseum or some tribal warrior in some war zone. IT'S FISHING.
I heard the saying, when I was young, "A boy knows more about fishing his local stream than the worlds most experienced angler." (I paraphrase.) I like you because you tackle strange rivers and figure out how to catch the fish. And you don't try to make it more dramatic by using innapropriately light tackle.
A fishing channel brought to you by the israel truth machine. The balance of fear and sympathy ....... I mean fear and symphony. A wardrobe of grey shirts one for every day of the year
The show hasn’t aired in years and few people have documented these places when it comes to fishing. So many people find this show so interesting that they just keep showing moments from it still to this day.

That way he doesn't get dismembered
Agreed. Also the locals know best for each area. :) He would have definitely died at some point if not for listening to and respecting the locals.

True words of a Fisherman ❤👍🏾
I still can't get over how fast that congo river is moving
It is truly frightening
And deep...Lower Congo 246 feet Middle Congo 72 feet average... with the maximum depth being 720ft...Wikipedia
River looks like it’s on mars not on earth
How’s old mate jumping in for a swim. Gives the term “good keen fisherman” a whole new meaning.
@tripytaka9462 even more so holding on to the net with fish in it plus the speed of the water......that's strong grip
Jeremy is the true River Monster.

If he didn't stay in that bank eddy he was in for it.
That's how my grandparents used to get to school 🏫😂

I think he caught Malaria as long as other things on his fishing quests.
The problem is he caught every huge river monster
Do you ever retire from fishing. Fishing is what I plan to do when I retire.

Nice 😎😎😎
Fisherman world wide have respect for eachother
Damn it.Oh what a man has to do to feed his family. I wonder how many have died fishing with those nets. That is incredible but sad.
I would like to thank all those involved in this video. It's a testament to this vast world.
If humans would just understand the gifts.
Just traveling to such a dangerous country needs to be brave 🎉

Jumping into the Congo to free your net everyday... wow...
I read the catfish of Chernobyl have mutated to survive in the pond outside reactor 4. Did the testing on this fish prove that? Great video as always!
Jeremy Wade for JRE podcast!
😂😂I love that 'big' fish. Got ya going though, eh?

I think it's funny that they get these guys to do a reenactment.
Most dangerous place but yet I'm here again
When was this filmed?
Notice how fast he got away from THE GUY JUMPINH IN THE WATER..?????? LMMFAO. HE AND HIS CAMERA CREW MOVED ON PRETTY FAST... LMAO

Anyone know of any show or RUclipsr that does the same thing Jeremy does, I love how he connects with the local fisherman
Suriname - at night walking, with street lights in the background
Jmy is the best fisher man.I love fishing too, but not pro like him.

Just send bigger drones into those areas you can't attend due to those areas being too much for you in a safe matter ..
I had seen this but still beautiful…

There is something in Suriname their rainforest like animals and indigenous and maroon tribes but its true their arent cities deep in the forest
Fishing radioactive water why do it bare hands radioactive gear is available why throw ur self in deepend with a silent assassin

Id tell them to go catch one yourself if you want to kill the fish.

Darwinian make-believe?
